The Anarcho-Communist Militant Organization takes responsibility for undermining the railway bridge leading to the facility of the Russian Ministry of Defense.
The action was carried out some time ago. Unfortunately, the bombing was not 100% effective, but the experience will be used in future attacks. So it was decided to make the experience public, not only for our benefit, but for the benefit of the whole guerrilla movement.
We used a charge of ~10 kg of permons in a metal casing (a paint bucket). An intermediate detonator of ~1 kg of ammonal-3 (saltpeter, sugar, powder) in a plastic case (mayonnaise bucket) was used to start the permons. To detonate the ammonal, a detonator made of ~10 grams of acetone triperoxide in a paper case (paper cylinder wrapped with duct tape) was used.
To place the detonator in the center of the ammonal charge, a paper tube with a diameter slightly larger than the kiso detonator was placed through a hole in the lid of a plastic mayonnaise bucket. This solves two problems at once: it is possible to place the ammonal in the container in advance, while isolating it from the outside environment (because it is hygroscopic). And secondly, the detonator can be inserted at the very last moment, reducing the risks.
A light bulb fuse was used for the detonation, a backup initiation with an alarm clock on the phone was set, but the initiation itself was made by the bell.
Also for extra power to the explosion two open 5 liter bottles with incendiary mixture were placed next to the charge of the igdanite – to increase the effect of the volumetric explosion of the petrol vapours.
The unfortunate thing was that we knew that the igdanite was not very effective, but we thought that if we placed it under the lower pylon of the bridge, this amount would be enough to fold it up. It turned out not, it had to be placed in a more enclosed volume.
Also, we think it is important to note that the action was purposely held at night, both for safety reasons, and to minimize risks for strangers – since the bridge passes over the road, and there is less traffic at night, we were waiting for a moment when no one was driving.
We do not publish the location of the bridge; we expect that during its further operation the likely damage will worsen, thereby making its repairs even more expensive, which will stop the transportation of military cargoes over it for longer.
However, we urge all railroad workers who are against the war to sabotage military contracts and refuse to travel to military installations – not to be a cog in the war machine that ensures its smooth operation of killing people.
Also, as a reminder – the best way to help the struggle is to participate in it. But if you can’t get involved personally, you can always support the Revolutionary Anarchist Foundation, which is happy to support aspiring guerrillas with funds for gasoline, saltpeter, etc. 🙂
