Brief greetings from the cages of our comrades Luis and Ignacio
We are waiting for this concrete and barbed wire to be crossed by complicit cries today. Even if we don’t hear you, we know anyway that you are there, as you have been since we fell. For us, as for so many other imprisoned compasses. That is why we sincerely thank you for all that you have done and for all that you will do.
Those with willing hands, like us and you, know that prison and repression are always possible. It is always best to avoid them at all costs. But, when the time comes, we have to assume them as a new scenario of confrontation.
We are not masters of the truth and we do not have infallible formulas for this path. Perhaps all we can do is try, fail, learn and keep trying. One of the few certainties we have here is that, even if we are in the slammer, we will never be defeated. We have learned this from the experience of many compas who have been in this situation before us and whom we thank deeply for all their support.
We hope that the various expressions of solidarity will multiply for all the prisoners and those who have fallen. Rather than slogans, action will always be the best commemoration.
Active and combative solidarity with all those locked up in the prisons of democracy.
Fellow anarchists, subversive and revolted: locked up but never defeated!

Text by comrades Luis and Ignacio about the week of agitation for the anarchist prisoners: a necessary vindication
(I) All confinement is political, in the prisons of democracy
Far from a simple metaphor, today more than ever the walls are so big that they don’t allow us to see the horizon outside… Sometimes impatience eats away at the tranquility in which we have decided to remain, in this unpleasant situation in which we have found ourselves for three months. We know that in the street things are not easy and, for this reason, we are immensely grateful for every complicit movement of compasses from different places.
Behind bars, anxiety and uncertainty accompany us daily. The looks of the hacks only remind us that the enemy is here and wants to see us defeated. In his words: “eliminate us”. However, his words do not scare us at all. And, like caged animals, we walk through this deserted concrete yard, sometimes sad, but never defeated.
Since our arrest, we have been the subjects of numerous public statements by the media, true megaphones of the existing order and its managers. Before we were indicted, we were already treated as guilty. We remember the triumphant entrance of a well-known and pedantic prosecutor into our home when we were arrested. Before we ourselves said it, we were already labeled as anarchists, or at least linked in some way to that political label. In this situation, and as we have already mentioned in our first words after the arrest, it is almost stupid not to notice that the imprisonment and the trial of which we are the protagonists is a political trial. The only ones who try to maintain the lie of the political neutrality of the law are perhaps those who apply it, as well as the press that vomits the “official” speech.
We cannot deny the political condition of our imprisonment, as well as of all imprisonments, however “common” or “normal” they may be. We know that in the prisons of capital and democracy, there is no prisoner who is not political. Whether or not people decide to take on this aspect of confinement is not something we can instill from the outside, but it must be the fruit of individual reflection to which we can contribute if asked. But always bearing in mind that we are prisoners as much as our fellow section or cellmates. We are not the vanguard of anything and we do not try to “evangelize” anyone, to make them accept our truths without criticizing them.
We can only recognize ourselves as political prisoners, our “innocence” or “guilt” is not something we can determine. That’s the job of the Public Prosecutor.
(II) About our labels and political leanings
It is now time to clarify a problematic issue for us, who do not like to label ourselves under categories that we know cannot capture the complexity and constant change of our being. The importance of this question, although we do not like it, is not only to refute the assumptions and lies of the press, but also to show the paranoia of our persecutors. They, in this case as in others, will always try to link us to some organization, constructing a narrative typical of the ideology of the National Security Doctrine, now politically and democratically whitewashed in what they call Citizen Security.
According to the complaints of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, we are nothing more than two individuals who do not reproduce the citizen complicity, facing this shitty reality. In this world, there is nothing worse than to remain passive. To die indifferent, in front of so many normalized situations in the civilized world of capital and democracy, is even more pathetic than dying in prison.
When daily life is reduced to being glued to a screen 24 hours a day, consuming the products that advertising offers us, without criticizing all the nuisances of which we are accomplices day after day, then this life is worth risking. We distance ourselves from all comfort, accomplice of this system, by practices and not only by words. Without fear of repression, without fear of imprisonment, without fear of the wardens or public opinion. We will die anyway, whether we engage in the struggle or not. In the same way, they could imprison us for what we think, whether we act or not.
They could call us nihilists, anarchists, subversives, anti-system. None of these categories represent us, our free spirits refuse to be locked up in empty concepts and abstractions. Even less in labels that the press, the police and the morbidity of the citizens use at every turn. Nevertheless, only for practical reasons, we express our sympathy for the adjective “nihilist”. Also, we consider ourselves totally anti-authoritarian. We know very well that it is actions that must speak, before words. And it is actions, too, that bring us closer, even if they do not unite us, to so many other compas imprisoned in so many prisons in the world. Affinities are nourished in action, far from any sectarianism and dogmatism, as some compas have said recently. And this must not only be written, but also put into practice. That is why, from this cage, we embrace the subversives, the savages, the revolutionaries, the anarchists and even those “common” delinquents who, by their actions, contribute to eroding the existing order.
“(…) our proposal for the present is clear. Whoever wants to directly reject the tyranny of the system must move from words to practice.
(Sect of Revolutionaries, communiqué no. 4)
(III) Something like a farewell
We have been clear. Nothing that has been said in the press or that can be speculated about us is as true as what you have just read. Our reluctance to lock ourselves into ideological labels derives from our desire to remain as free as possible, constantly evolving and self-critical. Neither this reluctance, nor the way we face this trial, are infallible. In fact, they are absolutely criticizable and we encourage this criticism. But this is what we have decided to do. And, even if many compas may not share our views, we do not seek to convince, nor to impose our truths on anyone.
We are political prisoners, like all the others. We are not idols. We are compasses, accomplices, friends and, perhaps, lovers.
Mónica, Francisco, Joaquín, Juan Aliste, Juan Flores, Marcelo, Felipe and Oso. Two hugs for each of you.
Freedom for all prisoners. Down with the prison and the society that needs it.
Strength to all the cnocerned people who act against the machine, whether in the prison or in the street.
