SUBVERTING SADNESS
ACTIVE HOPELESSNESS AND PESSIMISM AS A BATTLE ZONE.
I admire the comrades who find in the heat of the struggle against the harmfulness of this world reasons to smile even when their freedom is curtailed and their lives crushed… I really admire it, but I will be true to my pessimism and sadness (perhaps pathological) when I say that I would feel complicit in being happy when looking around me I find nothing but misery, prisons, abuses, in short: When every morning when I wake up I realize that this cruel reality is still here.
To conceive of myself as pessimistic, negative, nihilistic (I won’t get rid of more adjectives than these) doesn’t really make me the enemy of joy. The pleasure of living a life according to my principles: The pleasure of constant tension and confrontation with “their” world is not alien to me… However, my true joy will only be possible when all this that I abhor disappears. I may not live long enough to feel it and see it with my own eyes, but that does not discourage me….
There is nothing comfortable about the negativity I seek to practice. I do not believe, unlike what some practice, that being in conflict with reality is a reason to stop fighting and, on the contrary: Far from a passive and hedonistic attitude of hopelessness that only destroys in our minds-bodies we have to aim at who destroys us, and not destroy ourselves. To aim at bleeding and conscious targets, to finish with the edifices time will take care of: There are no material apprehensions with my life nor with that of the enemy… Detachment is total.
I have decided to subvert sadness and transform sorrow into rage… May the tears of so many crushed, chained and tormented individuals be the acid that dissolves the foundations of this world… Of this civilization that has made of joy a merchandise that only some can have and that has made that so many others must pay for it from their misery losing their life in it…
Do not destroy yourself, destroy them….
Not having hope is not an excuse to vegetate,
Not having hope makes it possible for you to throw yourself into the conflict without fear of losing, we can only lose our chains.
The weeping will cease when this world falls,
Maybe we won’t enjoy those honeys, or see the fruits of our efforts, but I won’t rest in fatalism and I’ll shorten the road…
