We take responsibility for the arson of a Cosmote vehicle at Tositsa Street, in Exarcheia, on Wednesday night 29/06 as a sign of solidarity with the hunger striker Giannis Michailidis, who has been on hunger strike since 23/05.
The much advertised return to normality and order, with special planning for Exarcheia, has been shredded now when cars are burned under their eyes as well as motorbikes with them on them. The 21.000 policemen that Theodoricakos proudly said that they patrol our city, either don’t want to or can’t catch up with us. They are useless anyway.
The society is at present noticeably distanced from the issue of the comrade’s hunger strike. The same people who have been experiencing pandemic, war, misery and impoverishment for 3 years, who have experienced incarceration in their own skin, are coldly indifferent to the inmates and inmates in the state-run hellholes. We ought therefore to be harshly critical and self-critical of the abject failure of both sides to bridge their gaps. And not so that anarchists and society can hold hands and go off into the sunset, but because each needs the other for liberation. However harsh this realization may be.
Comrade G.M. is on his 47th day of hunger strike and his health situation is getting worse and worse. The case of the comrade is a case for all of us. We are not trying to blackmail a positive decision of the bourgeois justice, nor are we trying to prove the partiality of a state mechanism. We stand by comrade G. M. and his difficult but crucial decision for the future and we are trying to show the state the cost of this war. If anything happens to any hunger striker, they will not get away with a few burnt cars and a few burnt cops. They will count material and physical losses…
SOLIDARITY WITH THE HUNGER STRIKER GIANNIS MICHAILIDIS
