On the night of Dec. 13, we set fire to two transmission towers of the Bavarian State Criminal Police Office in Nuremberg.
There are countless reasons to hate and attack the police.
The original task of the police is to maintain the social status quo. That is, police officers are paid to maintain an exploitative, racist, sexist economic and social system based on the exclusion of minorities. Their job is to defend the profit and supremacy of those powerful in this system against any attempt at change towards justice, equality, redistribution or environmental sustainability.
The police therefore share the ideology of inequality, in which FLINTA (Frauen (women), Lesbian, Intersex, Nonbinary, Transgender, and Agender), migrants, the poor or people with disabilities are worth less and can be systematically denied access to fundamental rights and equality. The police, by its very basic mandate, is necessarily to be located conservatively and politically on the right.
The police are ascribed, medially, politically and legally, a neutrality and expertise that never existed, which is supposed to enable them to objectively report on events or evaluate situations. In fact, it is a political actor that openly acts against its own enemy images (people who show deviant behavior or strive for social change and migrants) and is still granted interpretive sovereignty over its attacks.
In order to maintain the relations of domination, it is of enormous importance for the profiteers of capitalism, which is why the police are given more and more powers and means to use violence. It receives new weapons like tasers (NRW) or tanks and hand grenades (Bavaria) to use against its enemies. According to their own preferences, the police prohibit demonstrations or have events such as soccer matches postponed, arbitrarily take people into custody, or search and vandalize homes.
The racism of this organization manifests itself daily in racial profiling and racist insults and in over 200 racially motivated murders by police officers since 1990. The German police murder in prison cells (e.g. Dessau), rape in apartments (e.g. Erfurt), meets victims of sexualized violence with further sexual harassment (e.g. Mecklenburg-Vorpommern), enriches itself by theft (e.g. Leipzig) and commits countless bodily injuries and deprivations of liberty, especially against migrants and leftists on the open street – all in the knowledge of complete impunity.
We are not surprised or outraged by right-wing extremist chat groups or participation of police officers in racist hunts (e.g. Freiburg) or AfD involvement in their spare time. The police is a right-wing organization, its members want to maintain the oppressive mechanisms of this society and fight everything that is “left-wing”, “foreign” or “disturbing”. Of course, they exchange ideas in right-wing chat groups and reinforce each other’s ideology.
The guaranteed impunity, their unquestioned media presence, their armament with an endless arsenal of weapons and surveillance powers makes the police an extremely dangerous and powerful right-wing organization. Police officers are a danger to FLINTA, to migrants and to all who work for social/ecological change in society.
Therefore, every attack on the organization “police” is to be welcomed. Every contradiction, every disturbance of the normal police workflow, everything that prevents them from committing their deeds is important. Any attack on their infrastructure or individual police officers is legitimate. They are perpetrators who have joined the police force out of ideological conviction. Nobody has to be a cop!
In the night of 13.12. we therefore attacked the infrastructure of the police in Nuremberg by setting fire to their mobile radio masts at Marienbergpark and at the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF). According to the LKA, the masts are intended to ensure that police radio communications are secure during operations throughout the city. For this goal, they have had the masts secured with security, steel fences and barbed wire.
In anticipation of the usual official statements (“new dimension of violence / endangerment of bystanders”) a few words about the goals: We have no interest in police officers being able to coordinate their activities over entire city areas. Our action is directed against them; for the work of the rescue services and fire departments no gapless connection is needed. This is only necessary for the dynamic, mobile operations of the police (e.g. chases or observations). It has been ensured that no people are endangered during the attack. Neither for the campers in the Marienbergpark, nor for workers in the vicinity of the tower at the BAMF there was at any time a danger.
We consider the work of the police to be a potential threat to all who are read by them as “disruptive” or “alien”. Accordingly, we hope that the fires will make upcoming operations in the city less smooth.
All Cops Are Targets!
Freedom for all political prisoners!
