The second edition of the book ” What International?” by Alfredo Cospito and many others is now available
The second edition of What International? is finally available, which we are publishing-during the hunger strike undertaken by Alfredo Cospito starting Oct. 20-as a gesture of solidarity with his comrade and of insubordination against the state, which with the repressive Sibilla operation of Nov. 11, 2021, attempted to get the book out of circulation and which, starting in May 2022, with Alfredo’s transfer to 41 bis, is deluding itself into thinking it will permanently shut his mouth. We will not allow them to do that!
Inside the book:
– Preface by Alfredo Cospito
– Introduction to the second edition by Michele Fabiani and Francesco Rota
– Introduction to the first edition by Anarchist editors of “Vetriolo”
– What International? Interview and dialogue with Alfredo Cospito from Ferrara prison
– From the Belly of the Leviathan. Statement at the beginning of the trial for the action against Adinolfi in Genoa
– Who we are. Open letter to the anarchist and anti-authoritarian movement.
– Four years–December 2006. Document-meeting of the Informal Anarchist Federation four years after its inception.
– Chronology of actions, 1999-2022

We reproduce in full the preface by Alfredo Cospito, already published in the first edition of March 2021:
I thank the comrades and companions of Monte Bove Editions who had the courage and “recklessness” to print this booklet. I speak of recklessness and courage because today in this country it takes courage and a healthy “recklessness” to print such things, especially if one is an anarchist and revolutionary.
Today just publishing a discussion of the practice of anarchist internationalist action, just putting together a chronology of the actions of the Informal Anarchist Federation and some of their claims and documents carries the real risk of going to jail for years.
This “pocketbook” has one major merit: going into the specifics of the informal FAI, without dissociative or demonizing preamble.
How is it possible that a phenomenon that involved (however you think about it) a substantial slice of action anarchy has never been analyzed in a serious, in-depth way, much less from a historical perspective?
I think this lack is due to its deeply provocative nature toward what they called “official anarchism” in their writings.
Perhaps it is time to address this piece of anarchist history in a balanced way, without lividity.
To do otherwise would be demented because it is certainly not by mystifying or erasing pieces of history that do not correspond to our beautiful theories on paper that we will succeed in establishing our anarchy in the world … and certain anarchists will have to get over it sooner or later.
I hope that this little booklet is the beginning of a path of in-depth, shall we say, historical study that will have a following in the diverse anarchist movement.
