Tasikmalaya Regency Pipe Bomb Case Begins + Komar is Gate Arrested (Indonesia)

10.3.26 : On February 26th, the trial began for another section of the comrades of the Chaos Star Case (Adit, Opal, Pem, Herdi and Hugo [informant]). This case is about a pipe bomb that exploded which destroyed a police post in Gentong, Tasikmalaya Regency in December 2024. The action was claimed by the Free Association of Autonomous Fires. The communique can be found in the Blessed Is The Flame chronicle and was also published on Dark Nights. The action was declared in solidarity with Alfredo Cospito, Nikos Romanos and all anarchist prisoners.

The comrades are being threatened with up to 25 years in prison. The anti-terrorist unit, Densus 88, tortured the comrades badly, including trying to damage their sight. The prosecutors maintain they have everything for a conviction, as well as the words of a snitch, Hugo. On early February 15 police officers from the Criminal Investigation Unit of the West Java Regional Police Headquarters went to Kebon Waru prison because Hugo reported that there was a threat to his life. These are the police that paid him as he coldly smoked cigarettes during the torture of our comrades and gave his “evidence”. All the comrades remain imprisoned in Kebon Waru.

On March 8th, we received the latest information that our comrade Ainun K “Komar” (a Chaos Star prisoner) was supposed to be released from the detention center in Bandung, but was immediately re-arrested by the Surabaya City Police (Polrestabes Surabaya) on suspicion of incitement through the Instagram account @blackbloczone. This new kidnapping comes as Komar has already been imprisoned for five months on the same charge in West Java. The Surabaya police are using the new laws which require less evidence and judicial process to revenge our comrade. Many of the imprisoned comrades are due for release but the tactics of the police bastards have to be confronted. What is particulary ridiculous is the accusation against Komar, is that he is responsible for the mass insurrection which took place in Surabaya, which completely humiliated the police and lead to their facilities being widespread destroyed. Update on the Anarchist Prisoners Trial of Bandung (INDONESIA — Chaos Star Case)

Monday, February 23, 2026 – The anarchist prisoners from the Bandung cluster of political expression hunting have undergone their verdict reading session at the Bandung District Court. Adit and Naufal were found guilty and sentenced to two years in prison, with time served deducted from their sentence. Meanwhile, Rhexcy, Jalus, Tebe, and Jihar were also found guilty, receiving a sentence of one year and four months, with time served deducted.

Now, six comrades from the Chaos Star Case have completed the lengthy trial process, and there are still several more anarchist comrades from the Chaos Star Case awaiting their trials, following in the footsteps of these six comrades.

Defense Statements of Imprisoned Anarchist Comrades Naufal & Adit (Indonesia – Chaos Star)

Defense statement that was read by two anarchists who are defendants in last August’s riot case. They are currently awaiting the final verdict and sentencing. The plea has been printed and distributed here in Indonesia on the streets, including outside the court. The statements were also distributed at Homicide and Balcony gig (hardcore bands) in Bandung. Naufal and Adit have projected sentences of 2 years, 6 months, but it has not been confirmed yet by the judge. Adit already received 6 months for being an admin of Black Bloc Zone, he has further trials for burning a police station and for burning the Indonesian flag. Free the prisoners. Palang Hitam.

To the Honorable Panel,

First, allow me to defend myself regarding the treatment I received from the police and the prosecutor’s legal assessment of my actions. This is a summary of the ordeal I endured from arrest to the present.

On 4 September 2025 at approximately 11 a.m., about 10 individuals approached me. They interrogated me about my actions, initially stating they would not detain me. After I admitted them, I was forced into a vehicle: my neck was choked, my head struck near the temple, I was handcuffed, and taken to Polda Jabar.

Upon arrival at the Criminal Investigation Building, I was seated on a sofa. I saw my friend Aditya with his head wrapped in duct tape. A person—identified as the Densus 88 commander—approached me, ordered me to stand, and asked, “You’re an anarchist, right?” Before I could answer, he punched my stomach hard, threw me back onto the sofa, and kicked the back of my head four times with his hard sandals. I was forced to stand with hands raised, threatened with further beatings if I lowered them.

Subsequent BAP sessions involved physical and psychological violence: head beatings with sandals, firearm threats, shouting, and intense stares. One session lasted four days and four nights without rest. I tried to correct inaccurate BAP statements—that the Molotov cocktails wrapped with firecrackers failed to ignite or cause damage, only breaking the bottles—but received threats like “If I’d seen you at the demo, I’d have killed you,” accompanied by pistol display and sandal strikes to my head. Important Information from Indonesia for International Comrades

After the mass action that took place at the end of August and early
September, a wave of mass arrests followed, with thousands of people
being detained across various cities in Indonesia — both post-action
arrests and sweeps from those already arrested. Even now, various
anti-authoritarian groups in Indonesia are experiencing widespread
paranoia, which is understandable for some people due to the state’s
cyber operations aimed at mapping both formal and informal
anti-authoritarian cells. Several collective and individual names have
already been collected, which only adds to the paranoid climate that
continues to persist. Some refer to this as “going underground,” or even
as an individual safety method, to later continue efforts for solidarity
with comrades who have been designated as suspects. The state has
labeled anarchists as the masterminds behind all the mass actions that
took place in various cities. For example, in Bandung, the authorities
have designated 42 protesters as suspects, and in Jakarta, 16 people
have been labeled as suspects. This doesn’t even account for other
cities that have not yet been verified. All those who are detained face
obstacles in accessing legal assistance, and torture is not spared
