FORT WORTH, TX — A federal judge in the Prairieland ICE Detention Center case fined three defense lawyers five hundred dollars each last week for a mistake in a routine motion to compel discovery. In a Show Cause hearing on January 14, U.S. District Court Judge Mark Pittman admonished lawyers representing Prairieland defendant Zachary Evetts, calling the motion “frivolous.”

In response to this and other actions taken by Judge Pittman in the Prairieland case, the DFW Support Committee—a group of family and loved ones of the defendants—published a statement today. “As the Prairieland defendants’ federal trial approaches, a pattern of concerning activity by the presiding judge, Mark Pittman, has emerged,” reads the statement. “The fate of the defendants—and the result of this trial—will have enormous impacts on the legal terrain for those resisting ICE terror and the course of the rising authoritarianism in the U.S. As such, the fairness of this trial should be an acute concern for all.”

“Judge Pittman is showing a clear disdain for the defendants,” said Irina Popova, who attended the Show Cause hearing. “Zachary’s lawyer was doing his job by asking the court to make sure he gets all the relevant evidence. Lucy Fowlkes Arrested Yesterday and Charged with Hindering Prosecution of Terrorism in What Supporters Say is an Effort to Pressure Her to Cooperate With the State

CLEBURNE, TX – Police arrested Lucy Fowlkes at her family home in Weatherford, TX, yesterday. They took her into custody at Johnson County Jail. Agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation accompanied local police during the arrest on Monday evening, though she was charged under state, not federal law. Johnson County prosecutors have charged Fowlkes with Hindering the Prosecution of Terrorism and have set bond at $5 million. Similar to Daniel Estrada Sanchez, Janette Goering, and Dario Sanchez, Fowlkes is not known to have participated in the July 4, 2025 protest at the Prairieland ICE Detention Center.

Lucy Fowlkes faces charges in another ongoing case stemming from an incident at a drag brunch in 2023, where she was charged alongside Chris Guillot and Meghan Grant. In that case, authorities allege that Fowlkes and others unlawfully defended the family event from violent antagonists.

Supporters of Ms. Fowlkes say in the weeks prior to her arrest she had been approached by law enforcement encouraging her to engage in an interview regarding the July 4th protest. “The extension of this charge, ‘hindering the prosecution of terrorism’, to more and more defendants is increasingly absurd. On Monday, November 3rd, the trial against Aldo and Lucas Hernandez came to an end, with both being sentenced to 21 and 12 years in prison, respectively, after more than three months of hearings, in which the authorities attempted to use all their power to achieve an exemplary punishment for both brothers.

On July 21st of this year, amid protests and multiple solidarity actions, the lengthy trial against Aldo and Lucas Hernandez began at the Center for (In)Justice in Santiago. The prosecution, made up of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the Ministry of Public Security, and the Chilean Gendarmerie, initially demanded intolerably excessive sentences, ranging from 20 years in prison for Lucas to 90 years in prison for Aldo Hernandez.

Subsequently, after the verdict was read on October 3, the prosecutors requested a sentence of 32 years and 1,100 days for Aldo and a sentence of 18 years and 800 days for Lucas, while Aldo’s defense requested a sentence of 26 years and Lucas’s defense requested a sentence of 12 years. Finally, on November 3, Aldo was sentenced to 21 years and Lucas to 12 years.

The sentences, set out in a document of more than 400 pages, referred to three incidents: 1) the attack on the General Directorate of the Gendarmerie in December 2021; 2) the raid on a residence in Loncura; and 3) the raid on a residence in La Victoria.

Aldo Hernandez was found guilty of the attack on the Gendarmerie Headquarters but acquitted of the crimes of minor injuries to prison guards and the crime of receiving stolen goods. He was also found guilty in relation to the items found in the raid on Loncura ( incident 2) but was acquitted of all the crimes he was charged with in relation to the raid on the home in La Victoria ( incident 3). Lucas, for his part, was convicted of most of the crimes related to the residence in the La Victoria neighborhood, but was acquitted of the crimes of manufacturing weapons and manufacturing explosive devices. The eleventh and final week of the trial against our comrades Aldo and Lucas came to an end. Following the closing arguments by the prosecution and the defense teams for both comrades, which were in response to the statements made by both sides in order to present their own theories, the prosecution was emphatic in pointing out the guilt of both defendants in the acts with which they were charged. Aldo was charged with crime No. 1, which corresponded to the attack on the National Gendarmerie Directorate, as well as crime No. 2, which was after the raids, for which he was charged with the items found in Loncura, Quintero, and crime No. 3, which involved Lucas and the items found at the La Victoria neighborhood residence, as noted in the previous update.

On October 3, the judges began the verdict hearing, in which Aldo was convicted of the attack, but acquitted of the crimes of 16 less serious injuries to gendarmerie officials and the crime of receiving stolen goods. Regarding incident No. 2, he was convicted of the crimes charged at the residence in Loncura, and regarding incident No. 3, he was acquitted of all crimes at the residence in La Victoria.

Lucas was convicted of the vast majority of the crimes at the residence in La Población La Victoria, except for the crimes of manufacturing weapons and manufacturing explosive devices, of which he was acquitted.

After the verdict, the sentencing phase began, which concluded with the plaintiffs requesting a sentence of 32 years and 1,100 days for Aldo and 18 years and 800 days for Lucas. On the defense side, they requested a sentence of 26 years for Aldo and 12 years for Lucas. The final outcome and length of the sentences will be determined by the judges on the day the sentence is read. At the same hearing, the date for the reading was set for Monday, November 3 of this year.

The Arrest Comes More Than Three Months After July 4 Immigrant Solidarity Protest and Less Than a Month After Felony Charges Were Brought Against Johnson County Sheriff Adam King, Who Is Directly Involved in the Prairieland Case

DALLAS-FORT WORTH, TX — In an early morning raid yesterday, federal agents arrested another person in connection with a July 4 protest at the Prairieland ICE Detention Center. More than three months after the protest, Janette Goering was arrested by federal and local police at her home in Carrollton, Texas, on Tuesday, October 21. Goering is being held at Johnson County Jail on a state charge of aiding in the commission of terrorism and has a bond set at $5 million.

Goering’s arrest continues a trend of escalation by police and prosecutors in a case that now involves 18 defendants. The government is using exorbitant bonds of up to $15 million to imprison all but one of the defendants. “It’s unbelievable that more than three months later the state is still trying to widen the net in this case,” said a spokesperson for the DFW Support Committee, a group of family and loved ones of defendants. “They’re attempting to prosecute this as an “Antifa” case in order to terrorize the movement in solidarity with immigrants, but it’s not going to work.”

The case has been hailed by the Trump administration as the first legal case against “Antifa.” On October 15, federal charges were formally brought against two of the Prairieland defendants, Autumn Hill and Zachary Evetts; the charges include 1 count of providing material support to terrorists, 3 counts of attempted murder of officers and employees of the United States, and 3 counts of discharging a firearm during, in relation to, and in furtherance of a crime of violence. FBI director Kash Patel called the defendants “Antifa-aligned anarchist violent extremists,” sharing Fox News coverage of the indictments on X. “This seems like a coordinated political campaign,” said Stephanie Shiver, wife of defendant Meagan Morris. “The feds didn’t do anything for months and then they bring everyone into court just days after Trump designated ‘Antifa’ a priority threat.” On September 25, the White House released the National Security Presidential Memorandum-7 (NSPM-7), which ordered all federal law enforcement agencies to prioritize combating “Antifa” as a domestic terrorism threat. On Monday, August 4, the third week of the trial against comrades Aldo and Lucas Hernández began. Both were detained in connection with the investigation into the explosive attack against the National Gendarmerie Directorate.

During these more than 10 days of trial, the evidentiary phase has continued, with various witnesses and experts presenting testimony that supports the prosecution’s case presented by prosecutor Claudio Orellana. Specifically, last week saw the testimony of gendarmerie officials who were at the scene on the day of the explosion. Part of the routes taken by the individuals who planted the device, at least one of whom has been identified by the police as Aldo, have also been revealed, although no material evidence has yet been presented to reliably prove their involvement in the incident.

The following days are expected to follow a similar pattern, with testimony revealing police conjectures intended to establish the guilt of our comrades in the acts of which they are accused. The investigation carried out by the southern metropolitan prosecutor’s office and entrusted to specialized personnel such as OS9, GOPE, and LABOCAR. The call is to not forget or stop paying attention to the situation and the process our comrades are going through. This trial will be lengthy, as the penalties sought by the prosecutor’s office are outrageously high, and for this reason, it is the duty of those in solidarity to show up in the streets for our comrades in prison.

Monday, August 11, marks the start of the fourth week of the trial against comrades Aldo and Lucas.

The third week featured the presentation and examination of the latest evidence available to the public prosecutor’s office in relation to the explosive attack on the National Gendarmerie Directorate, such as images and recordings of the route taken by those who planted the explosive device, as well as statements from police officers belonging to various specialized police units (GOPE, LABOCAR, OS9) who have recounted the development of the investigation as well as the police hypotheses in inferences they had to make in order to place Aldo at the scene of the crime. It has become clear from the statements made that there are gray areas in the investigation that they were never able to determine with certainty, having to rely on assumptions in the absence of material evidence that effectively supports the accusation.

During the last days of the third week, the prosecutor began his presentation on the searches carried out on December 22, 2022, starting with the residence located in the 5th region, in the commune of Loncura, Quintero, which they attempt to attribute to Aldo and, with this, his responsibility for the items found there.

During the fourth week, the latest material and testimonial evidence relating to this address and the items found there continued to be presented, as well as evidence relating to the address raided on the same day, December 22, 2022, but in the municipality of Pedro Aguirre Cerda, La Victoria neighborhood, where, in addition to seizing a series of items, including ammunition, tools, and weapons, among others, comrades Aldo and Lucas were arrested.

Athens, Greece: Update on the court decision of anarchist Andreas F.

On Friday 18/7, the court ended the “Revenge Conspiracy” case in which the anarchist comrade Andreas Floros was on trial. After the prosecutor’s acquittal, the court unanimously declared the comrade innocent due to doubt concerning membership and with no doubts at all on any other charges, and Andreas was released from Korydallos prison a few hours later.

Over 70 people were gathered in solidarity inside and outside the courtroom, which was tightly cordoned off by all the special forces of the police, breaking the deafening silence of every kind of court with slogans of solidarity, standing by Andreas and every persecuted person.

The acquittal comes after 15 months of being held hostage in Amfissa and Korydallos prisons for Andreas, who from the first moment of his arrest denied any charges in the otherwise bleak scenario of the anti-terrorism. Once again, it was proven that the anti-terrorism, relying on the legislative framework of 187A, is organizing persecutions against anarchists and individuals in struggle. In this way, they have repeatedly attempted to spread fear around anyone who dares to question and stand against the dominant dictates of the exploitation system.

In a case with many parameters that had to be taken into account by the world of solidarity, we witnessed vengeful methods, not only against our comrade but also against the other defendants in the case aimed at supporting the anti-terrorist scenario and ultimately imposing exhaustive sentences on most of them. In a court in which any coherent evidence leading to the support of 187A was not even supplied by the very service that had led to the prosecution, the terrorist once again became the Trojan horse so that the scenarios and methods of the state and the MME could be validated .

Thus, those accused and convicted under 187A, received long-term sentences in the first instance, starting from 15 years and reaching 37 years (estimated 20) for the anarchist Fotis Tziotzis, who, although he was imprisoned during the time the actions of the indictment took place, was convicted of “moral instigation” for all the actions and for “direction” of the organization. At the same time, no mitigating circumstances were recognized, even for the accused who “fell” under 187A.

In the face of this entire horror-narrative, for 15 months now comrade Andreas has maintained a consistent militant stance throughout the condition of confinement. He published texts both on his case and on broader social/class issues and participated in several events by telephone. Furthermore, a solidarity movement was set up with dozens of events and actions in several cities. The solidarity movement succeeded in reversing the terror regime that the police had tried to impose, especially in the city of Patras. The world of struggle found itself on the streets and stood against repression in an era of accelerating state violence and an imposed modern totalitarianism.

Andreas’s case encapsulates all the vengeful fury of the state and the police against those who unwaveringly stand by the oppressed and exploited, on the side of those at the bottom of this world.

A specific name often used by the state and the judiciary to suppress their enemies. In other words, those who chose to oppose social cannibalism, those who chose not to be slaves of the bosses, those who do not accept the few to rule the many, for a life of freedom. Freedom is a basic foundation of life, it is in the nature of human beings, let alone prisoners, to seek it. Thus, on Thursday 10/7, in the Loukareos courts, some of the accused chose the path to freedom, even at the risk of their own lives. Despite the protection measures of the state apparatus and without any scruples about the consequences of this decision, they clashed with the cops, managing to wrest the weapon from one and immobilize a second. However, in their attempt to free the remaining accused, the cops regrouped and the escape attempt ended. They may not have won their freedom this time, but they managed to humiliate the entire security system with its armed cops, sending a strong message of solidarity and the realization that with risk and will, anything can happen.
