15 YEARS AFTER THE SO-CALLED SECURITY CASE: MARCELO VILLARROEL AND JUAN ALISTE WITH THEIR FISTS RAISED IN DIGNIFIED RESISTANCE TO IMPRISONMENT AS STATE REVENGE.
On October 18, 2007, a group of people carried out a robbery at a branch of the Banco Security located in the center of Santiago in Chile. In the retreat, two police motorists who were alerted and went to the vicinity tried to stop part of the assailants and clashed with them shooting one policeman dead and the other wounded, thus the expropriators escaped from the police encirclement.
After the events and the death of the policeman, the state operations would be unleashed in a matter of weeks against a universe of subversive autonomous comrades who would be exposed in all the mass media of power: Freddy Fuentevilla (in the street), Carlos Gutiérrez (in the street), Juan Aliste and Marcelo Villarroel (still imprisoned) were immediately condemned by the media, the fabricated public opinion and the rulers in power, while the carabineros began the hunt against them, who were already in hiding, raiding the homes of relatives in Santiago, Valparaíso, Iquique and carrying out multiple operations in Mapuche territory.
Months later (2008) they would be arrested in Argentinean territory (Freddy and Marcelo), convicted (for carrying a weapon of war), spending 22 months in prison and then expelled to Chile. Then Juan would also be detained in Argentina (year 2010) and immediately expelled to Chile. In this way, already in this territory, the comrades would have to face a political trial that would finally condemn Marcelo to 14 years in September 2014 for 2 bank robberies and Juan to 42 years for the death of the policeman, the attempted death of the other policeman and 2 bank robberies. So clear are the figures and reasons why our comrades today are still kidnapped by the state in the prisons of their democracy.
After 15 years, our comrades continue to stand firm and proud in their choice of life in struggle against the State, the Prison and Capital, while, once again, the power maintains a campaign of demonization over them that aims to perpetuate a state revenge for the mere fact of maintaining subversive convictions and insurrectional complicity that links them with different generations of rebels who today maintain the conflict through the weichan and social war in this territory and in different parts of the planet where the practices of antagonistic resistance to Capital grow and multiply as an urgent necessity to preserve life.
15 years after the beginning of the police legal judicial journalistic hounding that keeps our comrades imprisoned, we express our clear adhesion to the broad path built in the extension of our support to various initiatives “For the Annulment of the Sentences of the Military Justice for the Marcelo Villarroel” who should already be in the streets if it were only for the last sentence of 14 years for the bank robberies, however the obscure and illegal modification to the calculation of the sentences through the Decree 321 left the comrade with bulky sentences resulting from the fascist, illegitimate and outdated Military Justice of Pinochet.
15 years after that October 18, 2007, we make an open call to all the autonomous and affinity spaces, to the collectives, bands and groups, to the rebellious individuals of all the territories, to the peñi and lamien of struggle, to the agitation nuclei and spaces of struggle for land and against capital, to strengthen the demand for the release of comrade Marcelo Villarroel as an immediate and unrenounceable concrete step in the long road of anti-prison resistance built among all those who have put their grain of sand in this persistent struggle in which it is not possible to lower our arms allowing power to perpetuate the captivity of our comrades.
In this line we unrestrictedly support the initiative of subversive prisoners and anarchists in struggle in Chilean prisons who have traced a clear collective path independent of the limitations of all kinds in confinement, have strengthened a constant and joint work that is able to convene as a genuine expression of struggle against power, authority and its prison society.
Our call is to continue by all means in revolutionary, autonomous, subversive and anarchic solidarity with Marcelo, Juan, Joaquín, Mónica and Francisco and all the rebels and anti-state insurrectionists who resist with dignity in prisons around the world.
