On the night of Dec. 13, we set fire to two transmission towers of the Bavarian State Criminal Police Office in Nuremberg.
There are countless reasons to hate and attack the police.
The original task of the police is to maintain the social status quo. That is, police officers are paid to maintain an exploitative, racist, sexist economic and social system based on the exclusion of minorities. Their job is to defend the profit and supremacy of those powerful in this system against any attempt at change towards justice, equality, redistribution or environmental sustainability.
The police therefore share the ideology of inequality, in which FLINTA (Frauen (women), Lesbian, Intersex, Nonbinary, Transgender, and Agender), migrants, the poor or people with disabilities are worth less and can be systematically denied access to fundamental rights and equality. The police, by its very basic mandate, is necessarily to be located conservatively and politically on the right.
The police are ascribed, medially, politically and legally, a neutrality and expertise that never existed, which is supposed to enable them to objectively report on events or evaluate situations. In fact, it is a political actor that openly acts against its own enemy images (people who show deviant behavior or strive for social change and migrants) and is still granted interpretive sovereignty over its attacks.
In order to maintain the relations of domination, it is of enormous importance for the profiteers of capitalism, which is why the police are given more and more powers and means to use violence. It receives new weapons like tasers (NRW) or tanks and hand grenades (Bavaria) to use against its enemies. According to their own preferences, the police prohibit demonstrations or have events such as soccer matches postponed, arbitrarily take people into custody, or search and vandalize homes.
