URGENT: Update and Postal Address for the 43 “Chaos Star” Imprisoned Comrades in Bandung (Indonesia)

Posted on 2025/10/25 - 2025/11/05 by darknights

URGENT: Defendants in the “Chaos Star” network case face up to 20 years in prison

After the mass revolts in August 2025, where a large section of the population rose up and attacked the state’s basic corruption and inequality, 43 anarchist comrades are imprisoned at the West Java paramilitary police compound in Bandung. There is no access for anyone but the families, and even this is minimal. The detainees have been cut off and they are being used in a mainstream media manipulation campaign by the Indonesian state. Many of the imprisoned comrades are very young. They are all accused of being part of the individualist-nihilist “Chaos Star” network, which is a fabrication created by the police for the purpose of their prosecution. The police claim that the imprisoned comrades were radicalised by ‘Leaders’ and funded by foreign anarchist organisations. The cops point to the existence of banners, flags, books, pamphlets and music, which is in the possession of the detainees, as commonly held items denotative of membership of this “Chaos Star” organisation.

Some of the comrades are accused of serious direct actions such as molotov attacks, arson, riot, property destruction, etc. Lastly some of the comrades are accused of instigation, either online, for their blogs or social medias or for their ‘prominent’ role. They are isolated in the paramilitary compound and the Legal Aid Institute (LBH) in Bandung has been blocked from representing them. An option is to hire a private lawyer but that would cost tens of millions (rupiah). We ask for heightened attention to this dangerous situation. Torture and abuse are being widely used on the detainees, confirmed by the families. The young comrades were injured and hurt until they gave false confessions that they were even at the demonstrations and/or part of specific organisations, as they were subjected to the brutality of the paramilitary police. This is a known fact and a reality that we have to confront. In the wake of the insurrection across Indonesia against the right-wing ex-military Prabowo Subianto, the young people and the anarchist movement has been severely repressed by the regime. Many young people have been caught up in the police assaults and regardless of their supposed “guilt” or “non-guilt”, we extend our solidarity with them, and to all those who struggle against social oppression, prisons, police and the state. Greece: Text by Fotis Tziotzis for the Greek FBI’s hounds

Posted on 2025/10/02 - 2025/10/02 by darknights

Yesterday at noon, the Greek FBI* conducted a targeted surprise search of my cell and, after a thorough investigation, managed to seize letters of solidarity from comrades abroad as well as an MP3 stick with my favorite music well hidden, which means that a resounding blow was dealt to the music industry!

As if that weren’t enough, a case file was compiled with various sticks, videos, and two empty SIM cards found on other prisoners.

This is not the first time that such a case file has been compiled by the same “hounds,” as two months earlier, during a raid on Korydallos prison where I was being held for trial, a hinge that had fallen from a window was found in my cell and considered a “weapon.”

The constant targeting of me by the cops cannot stand in the way of my progress inside and outside the prison walls.

They also have the support of some websites, which, with exaggerations and guided lies, try to throw mud at me, attributing various imaginative qualities to me.

I don’t want to ramble on and on, I just want to emphasize that I am “here,” fighting and unshakeable in my beliefs.

See you on the streets of Freedom!

* ‘Greek FBI’, Διεύθυνση Αντιμετώπισης Οργανωμένου Εγκλήματος (ΔΑΟΕ), Directorate for Combating Organized Crime, is a special service of the Greek Police, setup in 2024, responsible for dismantling organized criminal groups and prosecuting drug and financial crimes. They have a wide scope that includes mafia, drug dealing networks, robbery, even hooligans, but now even anarchists in a further attempt to describe the actions of them as ‘criminality’ to deligitimise their struggle. Not that we as an anarchist collective have any problem with what is described as ‘criminality’.
More than 500 members of the new agency had their names leaked on the internet only one week after it first began its repressive work.

Italy: Mobilization Against the Censorship of the Mail of Anarchist Prisoner Salvatore Verspertino

Posted on 2025/10/02 - 2025/10/02 by darknights

Salvatore Verspertino is an anarchist imprisoned in Spoleto since March 2025 after his extradition from Spain to Italy. For several weeks, he has been the victim of censorship of his mail and parcels of books with at least 18 letters blocked since the end of August. In view of this situation, his supporters are calling for a massive mailing of postcards to testify to the important movement of support. In addition, they invite you to write letters to him by registered mail. In view of the informal and arbitrary blocking of book parcels, they advise sending him only one book at a time, as well as sending him magazines and newspapers of all types (the comrade likes history magazines in particular) by registered mail.

Greece: October is a month of remembrance and action for the anarchist revolutionary Kyriakos Xymitiris by Dimitra Zarafeta, Marianna Manoura

Posted on 2025/09/16 by darknights

As long as there are those who are lost in battle, we will exist to continue the war

And when we die, we die like stars scattering light. Like that light that shone a year before the explosives explosion in the Ampelokipi apartment on 10/31, when the anarchist armed fighter Kyriakos Xymitiris was walking the last part of his journey, where everything is condensed into a moment, where his revolutionary consciousness aligns with the desire to put an end to this aging world that feeds on his flesh.

Filled with immense comradeship, determination and with no inclination to retreat, he committed himself to the struggle with a vision of freedom. With clear eyes, comrade Kyriakos Xymitiris made no concessions to emotion, he loved life, honouring it with every breath he took. Both in Berlin and in Athens, he participated in all the fields of struggle indiscriminately. In rallies and marches against gentrification, in anti-fascist and anti-patriarchal patrols, in mass poster pastings, in militant defences of occupations, in struggles against colonialism and prisons.

He stood firm in the convictions of anarchy. In this suffocating world built on powers that strangle the wild beauty of unbridled freedom, on predatory policies, on death politics and wars that Western centres set up in the countries of the “third world” by stepping on corpses, on cynical confessions of “whoever does not adapt, dies”, comrade Kyriakos Xymetiris did not turn his gaze away. In this world of manufactured emotions, standardized behaviours, social contracts, mass apathy, comrade Kyriakos Xymetiris lived uncompromisingly in the here and now. In a context of intensifying authoritarianism and militarisation, growing insecurity and widespread impoverishment, comrade Kyriakos Xymetiris achieved his own transcendence, denied his social privileges and assumed responsibility.

At a time when friendly relations are criminalised by filling pages of lengthy indictments, where systematic imprisonments try to send a resounding message of criminal terrorism, where the judicial mechanism shows its teeth to poor devils and turns its gaze away from state-capitalist crimes, comrade Kyriakos proved that the strategy of repression does not intimidate revolutionary consciences. At a time when the movement is experiencing a setback, from the internalization of repression, adaptability and integration, comrade Kyriakos Xymitiris decided not to compromise and to contribute to the historical shaping of subversive events. In defiance of the times, he looked at the path of political and revolutionary responsibilities. Armed with courage and determination, he chose to respond to the violence of domination.

His priority was the preservation of the revolutionary tradition of specific means of struggle, which over time had become inactive. Continue reading “Greece: October is a month of remembrance and action for the anarchist revolutionary Kyriakos Xymitiris by Dimitra Zarafeta, Marianna Manoura” →

Greece: ‘The Hostage-Taking Does Not End, It Just Changes Its Face’ – Pola Roupa

Posted on 2025/09/16 by darknights

Conditional release imposes the well-known restrictions: Presence at the police station and a ban on leaving the country until the end of the sentence. This is a normal procedure. However, what the state reserves for the cases of prisoners convicted under 187A, the well-known “anti-terrorism” law, is the subjection of everyone to the control and restrictions of an authority that was also established in Greece following a European directive.

This is the Anti-Money Laundering Authority, Section B (from now on in the text I will refer to it as an Authority) which is headed by prosecutors. Based on Article 50 of Law 4557/2018, everyone who has been convicted of dynamic-armed forms of resistance, that is, for “terrorism” according to state phraseology and legislation, has no right over any asset in their possession, whether it concerns bank accounts or real estate or anything else, since everything is frozen by the Authority.

In order for someone to open a bank account (at a time when every economic activity is now required to pass through the control of banks), e.g. for payroll or for an allowance, one must apply to the Authority, which will approve the use of a single account for this reason alone. However, as far as other assets are concerned, it is obliged to apply to the Authority for the partial release of some assets and the Authority will only accept it if it considers that this is absolutely necessary. And as is always the case, the Authority gives negative answers. That is, someone with a house that he has inherited from his parents, cannot transfer it to his child, rent it or sell it since the Authority prohibits it, even if he has a significant problem of survival.

So while one would expect this Authority to deal with what its name declares, that is, to control the origin of the assets and income of a person convicted under 187A, its work extends to any property of legal origin that binds it and prohibits any use of it forever.

My case is one of those cases that face this problem and will face it for the rest of their lives. In the case of those convicted under 187 (“criminal organization”) there is a possibility to get out of this situation, in the case of those convicted under 187A, no. This is a serious element that confirms once again that for the state in the hierarchy of violators of the state legal framework, the first place is held by those who chose the path of armed revolutionary action. Even in the face of heinous and deeply antisocial crimes, armed political resistance to the regime is met with the utmost vindictiveness. Chile: Text from subversive prisoner Marcelo Villarroel for Black August

Posted on 2025/09/09 - 2025/09/09 by darknights

One year after the departure of Tortuga and Belén. Words from subversive comrade Marcelo Villarroel

The daily struggle and resistance against imprisonment in centers of extermination and isolation would not be possible without the fertile bond of insurrectionary complicity between different comrades in different parts of reality.

In high-security and maximum-security cells, in the furtive mountains, in cities and metropolises riddled with techno-surveillance, on the paths of the struggle to live free… there is always one of us, one who does not adapt or surrender to the vicissitudes of domination, and that is where we find Tortuga, on that path of subversive antagonism, and Belén, walking freely through Anarchy.

We walk with our dead, our prisoners, and our fugitives. This is not a slogan but pure reality. We walk with our lights and shadows that feed the eternal fire of our rebellion. We walk with a firm step, seeking change by first changing ourselves, even if it costs us.

We walk without lowering our arms and we resist, we persist, and nothing stops us, not even the death that inevitably embraces us on this long road.

A fraternal and complicit embrace to all those whom nothing and no one can stop. To those who organize, to the imprisoned comrades who wrote, and to all those who resist with dignity in prisons and cages.

One year after the departure of Tortuga and Belén, we will continue to sow chaos and anarchy!
With all our fallen brothers and sisters and comrades!
Subversive anarchist prisoners and Mapuche prisoners out of jail now!
Until we destroy the last bastion of prison society!
As long as there is misery, there will be rebellion!

$hile: Words from the comrades imprisoned in the Susaron Case in memory of Lupi, Tortuga, and Belén during Black August.

Posted on 2025/09/09 by darknights

As prisoners known to be opposed to order, we feel it is our duty to send our love and fond memories to three individuals who are no longer with us on this earthly plane, and to their loved ones: Tortuga, Lupi, and Belén.

We were fortunate to have known all three of them.

Tortuga, in countless days of insurrectionary expansion of the anarchist seed, giving precious moments of propaganda, music, and questioning.

Belén, in the heat of the same struggle and direct action. We all knew how she bravely and fiercely put her words into practice, and she was always greatly respected for it.

And Lupi, when we went to welcome him with our comrades from Carreta Anárquica in Santiago 1, when he was imprisoned. We tried to give him a warm and supportive welcome: bringing him delicious food and warm clothes, laughing for a while in the face of misfortune. Seeing firsthand how, despite the nervousness and fear that comes with entering prison for the first time, he maintained a stoic and proud consistency in his words and actions. We met him in prison and will never forget his innocent and beautiful energy, the light he carried above his head despite the dire circumstances.

For all of them, honor, fire, gunpowder, and flames! To remember them without these elements would be disrespectful.

Let’s bring theory into conflict: let ideas set fires.

In our colorful and dangerous hearts live the comrades who are no longer with us physically. But we, the masterless, know that they walk beside us in danger and calm.

Fire to the existent, and may memory wreak havoc.

$hile: Political violence. Words from anarchist compañera Mónica Caballero

Posted on 2025/08/23 by darknights

Political violence can be understood, from an anti-authoritarian perspective, as an aggressive response that seeks to break, attack, or fracture each of the components that make up domination.

This response could be limited to damaging the symbols of authority, thus leaving a powerful propaganda message, that is, one that manages to capture each of the motivations behind the action and, ideally, causes the violent response to be repeated or spread, or at least part of it.

As I said earlier, it is possible to attack symbolically, understanding that the current system of oppression can be seen represented in different elements or physical objects, or even in people.

For example, we have the case of Sante Caserio, who stabbed French President Sadi Carnot. From my perspective, he did this because the president represented political power, which at that time had led to the deaths of his comrades Ravachol, Vaillant, and Henry. His action sought to be a direct attack on those who publicly upheld power in the territory dominated by the French state in the 1890s. In addition to carrying out revenge, Sante wanted there to be no doubt about his motivations, which is clear in his cry: “Long live anarchy!” At the time of his arrest, as well as in his court statement.

Currently, we understand that the capitalist, heteropatriarchal system of domination is intertwined with complex social and cultural relationships, in addition to material structures and the people who sustain them. Consequently, and from an anarchist perspective, I have (and have held for several years now) the following questions:

How could a decisive qualitative leap be made that goes beyond attacking the symbolic? Is it really possible to “hit where it hurts” the capitalist system, in a world where relations of domination have reached a network of networks throughout the world?

The answers to these questions have changed as I have come to understand how domination has developed and persisted, and I have tried to act on these answers by shaping the many ways in which we can destroy everything that prevents the full development of each individual.

On the long road of how anti-authoritarian political violence is exercised, the successes and failures must necessarily be a collective learning experience for those of us who stand on the same side.

Among those of us who have found ourselves in anarchist/anti-authoritarian “action,” we constantly meet new comrades, just as we painfully say goodbye to many others.

Comrades Belén, Tortuga, Lupi, your memory lives on.

Health and Anarchy!

Russia: Support anarchist Dmitry Osyagin, sentenced to 15 years for arson of a court building and anti-war comments

Posted on 2025/08/23 by darknights

Anarchist and anti-war activist Dmitry Osyagin from Kazan has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for setting fire to a court building. He was charged under three articles: calling for “extremism”, “terrorism” and committing a “terrorist act” .

According to investigators, in February 2023 Dmitry set fire to the court building in the Privolzhsky District of Kazan. The court was located on the ground floor of a residential building. As reported by the media, the fire damaged only the corner of a window frame and quickly went out. Initially, the case was opened under the article for property damage, but it was later reclassified as a “terrorist act”.

In addition to the arson, Osyagin was accused of making 17 posts calling for violence against government officials, including the President of Russia, and 27 posts which, according to investigators, contained terrorist rhetoric.

The court’s press release notes that Osyagin opposed the invasion of Ukraine and was allegedly a member of the anarchist group “Combat Organization of Anarcho-Communists” (BOAK), which has claimed responsibility for sabotage actions on railways and supports anarchist partisans. However, comrades from BOAK are not confirming Osyagin’s membership, saying:

“While proudly calling the imprisoned partisan a comrade and like-minded person, we cannot explain why state media call him a BOAK member. There are two possibilities: either he was indeed in contact with us and acted as an autonomous individual cell of the Organization — we do not collect any information about autonomous participants, and therefore precise identification is difficult — or the FSB, prosecutors, and court falsely attributed BOAK membership to him to ensure the longest possible sentence.”

After his arrest in 2023, Osyagin was added to the Rosfinmonitoring “list of terrorists and extremists.” Now, in addition to 15 years in prison, the court has banned him from administering any online resources for four years after his release.

The sentence was handed down by Central District Military Court Judge Alexander Raitskiy on June 18, 2025. Osyagin is being held in Yekaterinburg’s Detention Center No. 5 (SIZO-5).

Dmitry is a versatile person. Before his arrest, he worked in landscape design and fountain construction. He is interested in technology, IT, cryptocurrency mining, video games, history, and fantasy literature.

If you are ready to write Dmitry a letter — do it. He needs your support now more than ever.

Mailing address:

Post campaign: Call for long-term solidarity to Alfredo Cospito (Italy)

Posted on 2025/08/22 by darknights

We circulate this call out for Alfredo to receive more postal correspondence and we understand that it is also within the framework of the International Week of Solidarity with Anarchist Prisoners, set from 23-30th August. Never a day alone, the anarchist hostages will endure, we’re always with them. Destroy the prisons.

Please, spread widely!

In order to break the isolation to which our anarchist comrade Alfredo Cospito is currently subjected through an almost total ban on mail, we call again to write him postcards and letters. This new callout to write him is also due to news reaching us from the Bancali jail where he’s held prisoner: Alfredo deems extremely opportune to keep on sending him correspondence, even unregistered, even just postcards, with or without sender’s address… If an avalanche of mail arrives, it’ll be more work for the screws working at the jail P.O.
We evaluated that registered mail sent to him is not as necessary as it has been so far, given that over 30 pieces of such mail have been blocked: on this subject, the Surveillance Magistrate must pass sentence: he’s obviously taking his sweet time (lawyers tells us it is standard procedure at the Bancali jail).

This coming Sept. 14th. there will be a hearing about the “compliance judgement” against the Bancali prison: the magistrate is asked to determine whether the jail authorities are respecting an authorization given to a prisoner, in this case Alfredo’s access to the library, which had been authorized but never really happened. If the judge rules in favour of Alfredo, he will have to designate a different officer to ensure that the authorization is complied with.
