About the Switch Off! attack campaign

Posted on 2024/01/22 - 2024/01/22 by darknights

A year ago in Europe a campaign of attack against companies and infrastructures that feed the ecological catastrophe around the world, entitled Switch Off! was launched. Large and small actions have positioned themselves in offensive from the concern and need to confront an evident eco-systemic collapse provoked by the global capitalist machinery that destroys everything in its path.

The intention of the campaign is to “attack the system in a sustainable way”, placing direct action in a common context through anonymous communication with each other, inviting to arm themselves with their own means and go on the offensive against the productive infrastructure and with it the property, without falling into false discursive, institutional and/or technological illusions, “making it clear that there can be no green capitalist alternative, nor peace with the existing conditions”.

In a first statement of presentation we can see more precisely what is the background and objective of why to invite the use of the slogan “Switch Off!”:

Switch off – a call to revolt

(DN Note: We make our own translation into English from the original German text.)

The certainty that the current system will lead to the collapse of the massively damaged ecosystem has already moved countless people and driven them into resistance. Tens of thousands are taking to the streets against the capitalist machinery’s “business as usual”, people are resisting the destructive large-scale projects en masse, the system’s infrastructure is being blocked and courageous fighters are setting fire to the machines that are robbing them of their livelihoods.

What we need in the struggle against the destruction of nature and the resulting social misery is the common striving for the real revolutionary break and the freedom of all. For an initiative that rejects all compromises and cosmetic corrections of the state and brings about a transformation of our social relations.

Because the destruction of the planet by the neoliberal economic system is inextricably linked to patriarchal thought patterns, racism and colonialism. The initiative for this must necessarily come from below. From the struggles of the marginalized. From the struggles of those who oppose the state’s promise of salvation with a self-organized, solidary coexistence. From the struggles of those who see that there can be no compromise in the fight against the systemic destruction of the biosphere.

We should also be aware that we cannot completely prevent the gradual collapse of a massively damaged ecosystem. Not the loss of biodiversity. Not the depletion of resources. We will not be able to prevent the climate catastrophe, as we are already in the midst of it. Admitting this – without any doomsday pathos – does not paralyze us. On the contrary: it should open up the question for us and our contexts of what our lives and our revolutionary struggles could look like in the future.

We can hardly block and sabotage as radically and uncompromisingly as the climate change caused by capitalism requires. But we should not be discouraged by this. Let us question, sabotage and sustainably attack the infrastructure of capitalism in the fight against exploitation. So that another world becomes possible! Let us cooperate with each other in solidarity so that we can live a dignified life. Let us realize our ideas in the here and now and already within our struggles and actions. We will not be lulled into complacency by the attempts at appeasement by those in power.

Against their technological solutions

The solutions offered by those in power for the now noticeable effects of the ecological crisis are primarily technological. This is obviously also driven by lobbying, but above all it is a strategy to legitimize themselves. The development, control and application of the “technologies of the future”, which are supposed to make growth capitalism “sustainable”, are in the hands of the state, industry and science and are inextricably linked to them. If we are being sold the illusion that climate change can be stopped technologically, then this is based on the belief that those in power only need to take the right steps, the right measures, to save this world.
For one thing, they have absolutely no interest in ending the expansionist capitalism that secures their position of power. And for another, technological reform, with the new dependencies it produces, is also doomed to failure. Examples of this could be e-mobility or technologies for the production of so-called renewable energies. The required raw materials are often procured in the course of neo-colonial environmental exploitation. The transportation of these raw materials and components is in turn highly dependent on fossil fuels. As a result, a conversion of the current industry to renewable energies before the global oil reserves dry up is unthinkable anyway. Continue reading “About the Switch Off! attack campaign” →

Berlin, Germany: Arson Attack Against a Vehicle Owned by Environment-Destroyer Züblin

Posted on 2023/08/22 by darknights

(B) Switch Off! Neighborhood and environment destroyer Züblin

Somebody has to build all this shit, the highways through forests, the jails, the palaces of the rich in the formerly green backyards of Berlin’s old buildings, the concrete aisles along the banks of the Spree River.

As we walk through the city, we repeatedly encounter the signs of a handful of companies that want to use them to mark who owns the city. Among them is Züblin, a construction corporation that pours cement on the explosive increase in rents. Züblin has long been active in the business of the capitalist attack on our living spaces, and was already targeted forty years ago for this reason, when construction machinery burned because of its involvement in the construction of Runway West in Frankfurt. During the Nazi regime, Züblin used forced laborers at Frankfurt Airport. Through its connection with Strabag, Züblin has become one of the leading tree killers, see the expansion of the A49 through the Danni or A66 through the Fechenheimer forest.

Naming such actors and sabotaging them unpredictably can be a modest contribution to the long-term wave of action towards revolt.

On the night of August 10, we shut down a Züblin vehicle with fire in Kreuzberg, Alexandrinenstraße.

The attack of the day before on the occupied houses in Habersaathstr. by a security company on behalf of the real estate mafia, shows the determination of our opponents to subjugate the city at any price in their pursuit of profit. There is nothing left but to target all profiteers of these exploitative relations.

Our action took place in a neighborhood that has been completely transformed in recent years in favor of the new urban elites. The nocturnal crackling of their vehicles is supposed to be part of the disturbing background music of the workers of Züblin, Amazon, DB & Co, when they want to regenerate in their new fancy apartments for another productive working day.

Berlin, Germany: Fire in solidarity with Alfredo Cospito – Strabag excavator set on fire!

Posted on 2023/02/14 by darknights

As a sign of solidarity with Alfredo Cospito and his hunger strike against the 41bis regime, we set fire to a Strabag excavator Berlin-Prenzlauer Berg in the night between 9.2 and 10.2.

Against the society that needs prisons, from whose construction Strabag profits. Against the society which believes in a green capitalism, for which Strabag builds power plants worldwide!

It is to be welcomed that there is an international resonance, which was initiated by the mobilization of the innumerable comrades in Italy. It warms our hearts to see how the solidarity with the anarchist prisoners becomes a weapon that seeks and finds its targets worldwide. Our analyses of this society inevitably lead us to attack and overthrow it. But it is not only dry analyses that move us, we feel a deep disgust for this world with all its constraints. We share the proposals and debates aimed at an international discourse. It takes an informal gathering of enemies of the state to get and stay in motion. Internationalism can thus enable the exchange of experiences, critiques, and perspectives, and promote aggressiveness. We can literally smell the smoke that the wind from the south brings and hear the echo of the comrades shouting: “Alfredo out of the 41bis!

However, it is questionable whether Alfredo will get out of the 41bis regime in the foreseeable future and whether he will be aware of all that is happening “outside”. It is also questionable whether he will survive this showdown with authority. It seems that the die is already cast. The Italian government has said several times that it will not back down. Surely there is much more at stake for them than “just” having a dead anarchist on their conscience.

However, fighting from an anarchist perspective means much more to us than saving a single life in this acute situation. Probably Alfredo has already made his decision long ago, as it is put up for debate in the text “Anytime – Some reflections on the last months of mobilization in Italy”. However, we can take the uncompromising nature of his actions as inspiration to intensify the subversion and ensure that the echo of his struggle, now clearly heard beyond Italy’s borders, will not be silenced anytime soon. With passion and joy, and armed with our dreams, against all that prevents us from realizing them; state, government, authority, justice, capitalism and the power structure that sustains it all.

Freedom comes through fighting movement – For more state decomposition!
Solidarity with Alfredo, Juan, Anna, Ivan, Dayid, Tonio and all other rebels in the jails.
Greetings to the anarchist from the Parkbank trial, who is imprisoned again in Hamburg
In memory of Tortuguita, who was shot by cops on January 18 during a raid on the StopCopCity occupation (Atlanta, USA). Rest in Power!

Long live anarchy!

Mülheim, Germany: Lützerath is Everywhere! Strabag Vehicle Torched

Posted on 2023/01/24 by darknights

The Strabag construction group runs a dirty business: highway and jail construction. In addition, the company cooperates intensively with the energy company RWE on the opencast mines in the Rhenish lignite mining area, also directly near Lützerath. Now we have joined the action campaign against Strabag and continue the fight against the mining of the extremely climate-damaging lignite in a decentralized way! Lützerath is everywhere and wherever we are, our resistance can unfold in many ways!

The small hamlet of Lützerath has made it to worldwide fame after its occupation, although this place had been doomed for a long time. The fight against the eviction and the brutally enforced capital interests of RWE, Strabag and Co. was magnificent, although the destruction of the place could not be prevented. Lützerath is currently the symbol of resistance against the deadly energy policy of the government at the federal level and in NRW (North Rhine-Westphalia). Thousands, perhaps tens of thousands, have made it clear that something has to change fundamentally and that the state and its police do not bring justice, but rather help capital achieve its objectives in the most brutal way.

Lützerath is lost, but the battle can now be fought with renewed fires! In any place!

With our small contribution and very simple means, we see ourselves as part of an alliance with all forms of struggle of the anti-capitalist climate movement. Demonstrations, sit-ins, discussions, attacks, gluing, sabotage, lock-ons, occupations and tunnels – anything that helps in our counterattack for the good of all life!

Much love to all the injured and the prisoners.

Hamburg, Germany: Responsibility claim for the arson attack on a truck of the company Strabag in solidarity with Alfredo Cospito and the fighters in Lützerath

Posted on 2023/01/12 - 2023/01/14 by darknights

January 5, 2023

In memory of the hunger-striking anarchist Alfredo Cospito we set fire to trucks of Strabag in the Schanze on the night of Jan. 5.
Strabag does not only build jails. At least since the struggle for the Dannenröder forest, they have also often been the target of attacks because they actively destroy nature. Our fire should also give strength to those fighting in and around Lützerath. Day X has already been proclaimed.

“We are in solidarity with Alfredo Cospito, who has been on hunger strike since October 20, 2022 against his imprisonment in the 41-bis isolation regime and against life imprisonment without option of release. Alfredo’s detention conditions at the moment are slightly better than the previous weeks. He has lost a lot of weight and his health is relatively stable, but could become critical at any time. Two other prisoners in Italy, Anna and Juan have been on prolonged solidarity hunger strikes and Ivan Alocco, a prisoner in France is also supporting Alfredo through hunger strike. Toby Shone, who is in jail in England, is also supporting Alfredo by refusing to eat several days a week. (DN Note: Now out of Parc prison, under strict conditions, in a ‘semi-open’ detention structure.)

We are also in solidarity with Thanos Chatziangelou of the Anarchist Action organization, who was illegally transferred from Korydallos to Nigrita prison in Serres on Dec. 19. Thanos started a hunger and thirst strike that day. The comrade is involved in the recent mobilizations in prisons in Greece against the new harsh laws that are currently taking place in many places and in which many prisoners have participated in recent months. Berlin, Germany: Strabag and ATM on fire

Posted on 2021/10/17 - 2021/10/17 by darknights

As you may already know from the press, a Strabag transporter in Lichtenberg caught fire last night. The fire at an ATM in Kreuzberg has not yet been reported. We (a small autonomous group) take responsibility for both. We were motivated by the call for decentralized actions for the Köpi car park, which is to be cleared on Friday.

PS: Strabag/Züblin profited from forced labor in the nazi regime and obviously profits from exploitation and oppression now. Look at the emerging skyline of berlin: every second construction crane is from this company.
