The following text is the political view of the Assembly in Solidarity with the four comrades in pre-trial detention Fotis D., Jason R., Lambros V. and Panagiotis V.

On November 14^th, 2021 an unmarked police vehicle rammed into the comrades Fotis D. and Jason R. as they were in motion and then they were taken to the General Police Department of Attica. There, the uniformed garbage of the Greek Police proceeded to mandatory fingerprinting and DNA sampling, in order to link them to the attack on the Piraeus traffic police on the same night. In a process that took only half a day, they raided their homes, making sure to plant incriminating evidence, thus building a weak case against them. At the same time, the media indulged in their usual vile role, talking about homes being bomb and explosives manufacturing facilities, in an attempt to normalise the new criminal code in the public mind (which upgrades the possession and use of Molotov cocktails to a felony). It is worth noting, that the code came into force the day before their arrest. For the millionth time, the fabrication of guilty people by the media, has socially reinforced the prosecution’s argument and created the appropriate ground for the pre-trial detention of our two comrades, who have been held captive for 15 months in the Korydallos and Avlona hellholes.

With the trial date not being set and the case file still open, the interrogator had room to implicate more people. Following a prosecution conducted by the interrogator, on Tuesday morning 20/9, state cops accompanied by a prosecutor, stormed into the house of comrades Panagiotis V. and Lambros V. The comrades were arrested and detained in GADA, where for several hours the reasons for their detention were not known and they were not given the right to communicate with their lawyers or their close ones. The next day, they were tried by the Single-Member Plenary Court in Evelpidon for violation of the weapons law and were later released. Information concerning comrades V.Stathopoulos and D. Chatzivasiliadis from the Court of Appeal in Athens.

The trial of Revolutionary Self-Defence has ended

Comrade Vanggelis Stathopoulos was acquitted of the charges of membership of a terrorist organization, possession of weapons as a terrorist act, theft (O.Π.Α.Π.) and aggravated weapons possession.

Found guilty of simple possession of weapons involving a taser, an iron fist and a pocket knife, of the 19 years of imprisonment he was sentenced to in the first instance, he was sentenced to 10 months. A mitigating factor of subsequent good behaviour was recognised and the sentence was suspended.

Comrade Dimitris Chatzivasiliadis was found guilty on charges of forming and joining a terrorist organisation, possession of weapons as a terrorist act, theft (Ο.Π.Α.Π.) and simple possession of weapons. He was sentenced to 14 years’ imprisonment instead of the 16 years of the first instance.

The Greek justice system doesn’t have a problem, it is the problem itself

Direct Action Cells claim responsibility for the following incendiary attacks:

At the home of the judge Panagiota Yioupi, at dawn on Friday October 14, in the Glyfada area.

Youpi is one of the many servile puppets of the gang that operates under the name of Greek justice. She presided in the trial of the child rapist and member of the Mitsotakis family, Dimitris Lignadis, who was released from prison after being found guilty of raping underage children. She is a judge who is part of the influential entourage of the drug-dealing shipping tycoon Vangelis Marinakis, having issued a series of provocative rulings in favor of his interests during her term as a judge in Piraeus.

Yioupi is relentless when confronted with the poor, handing out years of sentences with the same ease she would hand out toys at a children’s party. But she has a peculiarity, she turns into a sensitive and soulful person when confronted by people from high society, with political connections, access and financial clout.

At the home of the judge Myrsini Papachiou, at dawn on Saturday, November 5, in the Zografou area.

Papachiou occupies the highest levels of the cesspool known as civil justice. The throne that she sits on as vice president of the Supreme Court is built from the pain of shattered human lives destroyed by prison.

Our decision to target her, apart from her institutional role, is related to the fact that she is currently involved in the Novartis scandal, being a member of the special court that is currently trying state prosecutors and government officials from the former SYRIZA government, as defendants for allegedly orchestrating a conspiracy in this particular case. She is also a court tribunal member for the upcoming trial of a former SYRIZA minister in a case regarding TV licenses. In fact, in order for Papahiou to be a member of these tribunals, she was hastily promoted to the rank of deputy-president a few days before the selection of tribunal members took place. Without any desire to get involved in the shifting alliances and infighting of this rotten political establishment, we recognize that this court is acting as a white-washing machine for sections of the political elite who are involved in the Novartis scandal. An international scandal that demonstrates with surgical precision how capitalism works. Multinationals, big pharma and politicians were complicit in the criminal regulation of drug prices in the health sector. They were complicit in the dismantling of public hospitals, in the operation of an organized international state-economic mafia that exploited in the worst possible way one of the most basic services, that of health. The government’s systematic attempt to present this scandal as a frame-up goes hand in hand with its refusal to demand compensation from the company. Our choice to strike at one of the puppets that are part of the government’s white-washing is intended to highlight all of the above. Babis Papadimitriou belongs to this category of SKAI journalists who redeemed the worm work he did for so many years with a parliamentary seat in New Democracy. The Anglo-Saxon model followed by the SKAI television group in defending New Democracy, as Portosalte had said, has another parameter. The function of SKAI as a political reservoir for future executives and MPs of the New Democracy.

We have mentioned the illusion of security offered by the arrogance of a dominant position of a political official or a big journalist. So now Babis Papadimitriou has crawled out of his house in front of the television cameras to protest against the state’s inability to stop terrorists.

A TV puppet with a consciously argumentative speech, whose persona has been skilfully manipulated over the years by the shipowners who have him on their payroll and the political managers of New Democracy. The similarities with Aris Portosalte are many. After all, together they have marked a period when SKAI was outraged by plaguing the social resistance to the imposition of the memorandum programmes. As a journalistic duo they provoked the anger and disgust towards them from the majority of society. Athens, Greece: Responsibility claim for attacks on cops on the night of 18/6

In the war against the state we taste the most full and beautiful moments of freedom. These are the moments when we defy the power complex around us and the atmosphere, now full of gasoline and smoke, captures our definition of clean air on the street.

There, we always carry with us the prisoners of this war who are physically restrained in the cells of democracy. An integral part of the anti-authoritarian struggle, they are the imprisoned form of our self, as we, inversely, are the unreleased form of theirs.

One such moment was the evening of Saturday 18/6, when we set up a trap and attacked the Delta group, as well as the other repression groups that rushed to the Exarchia area, as a signal of solidarity with our imprisoned comrades. An attack that was accompanied by people present in the neighbourhood, giving for another Saturday the message that Exarchia is a field of resistance and struggle.

As for Bakoyannis and peace-loving citizens, they would be well advised to come to terms with the idea that as long as we exist the only law that will be applied will be the law of physics that calculates the distance travelled by a panicked Deltas running at 80klm/h. Besides, if they want the business community in the area to flourish they might as well open up parts garages left behind by their friends in uniform. Just as if they want redevelopment they can build the new apartment buildings in the area with all the marble and stones eating away at their heads.

The Direct Action Cells undertook the incendiary attacks on the homes of the Secretary General of the Greek Police Officers’ Union Evangelos Mantziorou on June 2 in Peristeri and the SKAI journalist Aris Portosalte on June 14 in Vrilissia. Our attacks were carried out in the context of our strategy expressed through the slogan “Fear must change sides”. For the last 1.5 years we have been trying with all our forces to target people who, from their position, staff the Greek capitalist formation. High-ranking police officers, big journalists, government officials, technocrats who plan government policy, judges, have been targeted. At the same time we have carried out incendiary actions against financial and political targets. Our action is aimed at sending a clear message to these puppet masters. Those who from their position participate in the savage attack that capitalism has unleashed on all aspects of our lives are in the crosshairs of the Direct Action Cells.

Their apologetic statements, the terror with which they jump out of bed when they hear the explosions of the devices we place in their homes, the condemnatory statements of the parties and the media, show that we are on the right track. The encouraging comments from our people, our class people, are our strength to carry on. Through our actions we are trying to keep alive the tradition and practice of direct action. To make it clear that our enemies have names and addresses. To prove that our momentum is greater when we become unpredictable and to call on other militants to follow our example.

The choice of the far-right neoliberal university student and his targeting was not the result of a victimhood and a source of disgust caused by his public presence. Aris Portosalte as a persona encapsulates the most extreme aspects of neoliberal discourse in the country and with his shrill voice he challenges and seduces the sympathetic ears of the neoliberal audience. His daily rants are not the opinion of a journalist, as he and those who deplored the attack on his house want to peddle, but the outgrowth of the political footprint of New Democracy in Greece at the cutting edge of its thought and speech production, the media. Like another harlequin, he has taken a leading role in the forefront of far-right propaganda and is doing the dirty work that the ruling party’s political cadres often avoid. In view of the court of appeal of D. Chatzivasiliadis and V. Stathopoulos, on 14 May, a march in solidarity with our anarchist comrades was planned, starting from Monastiraki Area . During the march, on Stadiou street at the height of Benaki street, riot police attacked it and managed to break it by throwing chemicals. The riot squads that immediately took over immediately made 14 detentions, of which 5 were arrested with 4 of them being misdemeanor arrests and one felony. The felony charge was the possession/use of a molotov, which only resulted from the testimony of a cop without any evidence. This move is their only way to cover up the unabated use of force during the march.

Thus, on Sunday 21/05 a group of people chose to attack the riot police parked in front of the PASOK offices (political party) in Ch. Trikoupis street with the use of coctail molotovs in response to the repressive forces.

For 3 years now, the far-right government of the ND has intensified state repressive action against those who fight and stand against its brutal capitalist plans.

The repressive attacks and frame-ups and persecutions against militants are countless. In these 3 years we have witnessed demonstration bans, torture of protesters and prisoners, informal hostage-taking of anarchists under harsh restraints, mass arrests, intimidation with non-existent DNA and detention. The purpose of all these state practices is to completely cut off and isolate militants from social resistance and physically eliminate them.

The basic premise of this repressive policy is to put the management of everyday life in the hands of the police, which, with the chariot of the pandemic, has been largely conquered by placing uniformed men everywhere like an army of occupation to decide who goes out and who does not.

Police impunity and police state repression has so far resulted in hundreds of incidents of beatings, torture and arrests, even murders, as in the case of Nikos Sampanis who was gassed for not stopping at a checkpoint.

One of the first state frame-ups is the prosecution and imprisonment of the anarchist comrade Vaggelis Stathopoulos, who has been locked up in state cells for two and a half years for showing his practical solidarity with the wounded anarchist comrade Dimitris Hatzivassiliadis.

In a mock trial with a tailor-made indictment by the anti-terrorist police, held in March-April 2021, Vaggelis Stathopoulos was sentenced to 19 years in prison.

On the night of 21 April we placed an incendiary-explosive device in a cop’s vehicle in the area of Ampelokipoi, destroying it completely, in solidarity with the anarchist prisoner Vaggelis Stathopoulos, whose appeal trial begins on 18 May.

It is our belief that state framing and trumped up charges are overturned through diverse solidarity actions.

Rethymno, Greece: Responsibility claim for attack on court

On 9/2, comrades Stathopoulos and Hadjivassiliadis are tried in the second instance. At the same time we do not forget H. Mantzourides who is being tortured in the psycho cells of Korydallos.

Of course we do not expect any justice from the judges and their informers but we remain in solidarity with every political prisoner. The only answer to the culture of incarceration is to attack until we see prisoners of war on the street again. We therefore take responsibility for the attack with stones and paint at the court of Rethymno in the morning of 9/2 as a minimal sign of solidarity with every insurgent and every person who walks on the road of illegality.
