‘A Mass Assassination Factory’: Inside Israel’s Calculated Bombing of Gaza

DN Note: We are posting this article from +972 magazine & Local Call, knowing very well that it is a mainstream media article, but feel the technology it is describing being used by the IDF as important to understand, alongside their use of swarm drone technology to kill terror supects in Gaza and also an AI gun powered by facial recognition used to kill an Iranian nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh in November 2020, all of this even before the recent conflict. Israel’s use of this technology is a further advance of artificial intelligence which now is starting to permeate societies worldwide, whether it is to identify ‘terrorist’ supects through facial recognition software enhanced camera systems, infiltrating health care systems or even analyzing whether you are allowed to receive state welfare ot not. Warfare has always been the accelerator of technological and scientific adavances that are being pushed by all states worldwide, be it Russia, USA, China, UK and Iran, the 4th Industrial Revolution will not be any different. It is time to realise that there is a monumental shift arriving already now, that identifying technology and science as a progressive, even benevolent forces that will not harm, imprison or destroy us is dellusional. There is no other better time than the present to fight back against the technological and scientific prison, to break out and destroy it before it is too late.

As an extra note we would like to point out that there has been no solid evidence produced of the sexual violence and rape or that the deaths of civilians were commited by the militants that crossed from Gaza. Much of this so called evidence has been shown to be Israeli state propaganda, that the sources such as the one that claimed babies were burned to death have quickly dissapeared from the internet as quickly as they appeared. Plenty of information has been coming to light that the IDF panicked in the initial stages of the 7th October attacks and in a frenzied attmept to contain it, ended up killing the civilians themselves, either in the crossfire or indiscriminately bombing areas. This is the same IDF that has massacred countless civilians in bombing campaigns, targetted raids in peoples homes, incarcerates thousands upon thousands, drops chemical weapons upon urban populations, even has covered up its own involvement in massacres in Lebanon and even lied to cover up the Lod Airport attack, another example of zealous security forces doing their honourable job. Apparently we are supposed to believe the lie generator that is the Israeli propoganda machine most likely already programmed by AI?

The Israeli army’s expanded authorisation for bombing non-military targets, the loosening of constraints regarding expected civilian casualties and the use of an artificial intelligence system to generate more potential targets than ever before appear to have contributed to the destructive nature of the initial stages of Israel’s current war on the Gaza Strip, an investigation by +972 Magazine and Local Call reveals. These factors, as described by current and former Israeli intelligence members, have probably played a role in producing what has been one of the deadliest military campaigns against Palestinians since the Nakba of 1948.

The investigation by +972 and Local Call is based on conversations with seven current and former members of Israel’s intelligence community — including military intelligence and air force personnel who were involved in Israeli operations in the besieged Strip — in addition to Palestinian testimonies, data, and documentation from the Gaza Strip, and official statements by the IDF Spokesperson and other Israeli state institutions.

Compared to previous Israeli assaults on Gaza, the current war — which Israel has named “Operation Iron Swords,” and which began in the wake of the Hamas-led assault on southern Israel on 7 Oct — has seen the army significantly expand its bombing of targets that are not distinctly military in nature. These include private residences as well as public buildings, infrastructure and high-rise blocks, which sources say the army defines as “power targets” (matarot otzem).

The bombing of power targets, according to intelligence sources who had first-hand experience with its application in Gaza in the past, is mainly intended to harm Palestinian civil society: to “create a shock” that, among other things, will reverberate powerfully and “lead civilians to put pressure on Hamas,” as one source put it.

Several of the sources, who spoke to +972 and Local Call on the condition of anonymity, confirmed that the Israeli army has files on the vast majority of potential targets in Gaza — including homes — which stipulate the number of civilians who are likely to be killed in an attack on a particular target. This number is calculated and known in advance to the army’s intelligence units, who also know shortly before carrying out an attack roughly how many civilians are certain to be killed.

In one case discussed by the sources, the Israeli military command knowingly approved the killing of hundreds of Palestinian civilians in an attempt to assassinate a single top Hamas military commander. “The numbers increased from dozens of civilian deaths [permitted] as collateral damage as part of an attack on a senior official in previous operations to hundreds of civilian deaths as collateral damage,” said one source. Frankfurt, Germany: Switch Off – the system of destruction! Teslas torched

Last week, the International Motor Show (IAA) took place in Munich. Once again, all kinds of corporations were able to show off their great, shiny cars at this summertime trade show and congratulate each other on their economic successes in their air-conditioned conference rooms, limousines and exhibition halls.

At the same time, there’s a fire again this summer in Rhodes. In Portugal. On Maui.

At the same time, the homes of many are being flooded. In Slovenia or in Austria.

The livelihoods of many are destroyed. These deadly disasters have many causes. The IAA is one of them. We say switch off the system of destruction!

Therefore we torched some new Teslas in Frankfurt tonight. As a salute to the protests in Munich. As one attack among many on the destructive auto industry.

Tesla is one of our most prominent enemies. The company represents like no other the ideology of green capitalism and the ongoing global and colonial destruction. Electric motors are constantly presented as the clean alternative. This is a cynical lie. Like other corporations, Tesla exploits resources worldwide. The raw materials needed for the batteries of electric cars, such as lithium and cobalt, are mined in Latin America or Africa under lousy conditions. For transport and production, fossil fuels are needed despite the great green coating.
All this always happens in connection with the oppression of indigenous communities, whose resistance must be a signal for us to act.

Tesla accepts all this to produce cars that can creep around here in the inner cities. That show every day: There is prosperity. But just not for everyone. The Internet of bodies: the body as a technological platform

It has not even been ten years since the Internet of Things made headlines and fueled the dreams of technologists around the world. Smart clothes that can measure your mood and update your cell phone, smart glasses with which you can overlay reality with a second layer of your own, e.g., with personalized realities, smart and inexpensive light bulbs charged with carrying the burden of your eco-consciousness by turning on only when you are in the room or when you give the command from the controller of your life aka smartphone, smart coffee makers, ingenious mugs, wi-fi-enabled sinks, and the list goes on. All this new “smart” and illusory life promised by the universal interconnection of everything on the Internet has turned out to be, at least so far, a mere fantasy. But is this proof of the failure of the Internet of Things? In a sense, the answer should be yes (again, at least for now), at least if one is to take such promises at face value. On the other hand, the Internet of Things can be considered as much of a “failure” as any new model of an automobile-based society is a “failure” because its drivers end up spending most of their time moving at the pace of a sloth on Alexandra rather than with feline grace on open roads, vast expanses of open country, or meandering, scenic roads perched on green mountains, as they should, given the commercials. The crucial difference in the case of the Internet of Things, which will provide the measure of any failure or success, is that it was not simply an attempt to promote a product or even a range of products. What was widely promoted or even mandated was not so much and not only the lures of smart devices, but the very idea of universal connectivity, the notion that information can be drawn from anything and that this information can be valued, exploited and enhanced.

There have been many, too many, probably the vast majority of individuals in Western societies, who have seemed all too willing to take the bait of all kinds of smart devices. Finding themselves with the hook of universal interconnectivity stuck in them, perhaps not yet sufficiently aware of the consequences of the position they have found themselves in. The oceans of psycho-intellectual novocaine in which they swim daily (courtesy of social media and subscription lobotomy platforms) do not leave them much room to maneuver. The extent of this retreat of conscience and panicked concession of battlefield positions that would once have been considered non-negotiable has become evident, if nothing else, with the recent issuance of health certificates. The docile readiness with which the subjects display the symbols of their unworthy conformity to a paranoid regime (even for unnecessary movements, such as those related to work or studies) is a low point but not the nadir of political and aesthetic-moral decline; at the other end of the sewer are those who assume the role of controllers, not infrequently enjoying their role, even if they do not openly admit it, perhaps not even to themselves (their tone of voice and body language are, however, irrefutable witnesses). A marvelous social condition that allows microclimates and alveolus to be created everywhere, within which the mushrooms of petty authoritarian attitudes acquire the status of the self-evident: the teacher checks the pupils (a mischievous person might say, “this is not a new role for teachers”), the clerk checks the teacher when he shows up as a customer, the waiter checks the clerk when he goes to buy coffee, etc. Everyone is given the opportunity to assume the role of the examiner; but no one is spared the role of the examined: in other words, the definition of the cannibal condition.

A nontrivial reminder: all these things owe their “success” in large part to the fact that they are mechanically mediated. The smartphones that promised the blossoming of a life in which everything would be available at (or even before) the push of a button seem to have first spread the manure of social barbarism in the form of mutual surveillance. It is obvious that without the ability to instantly scan and identify a certificate, the entire “medical” surveillance regime would be unstable and to such an extent that it might eventually collapse. But who would dare to oppose such practices among those who, for the sake of any free “convenience,” have become spineless data bleeders through their interconnected devices of all kinds? Athens, Greece: Responsibility claim for incendiary attack on a Volkswagen dealership

The future dystopia of a fully controlled life by smart cities, 5G, where your fridge communicates with your mobile phone or a street lamp, and supermarkets offer you everything you ask for in the (anti)social media is already here. Everything is increasingly connected and everything is being monitored. It’s a future where people will be controlled by the artificial intelligence of big capital – big data and machine learning. Whatever information capital collects is shared with the state. Technology means repression, blackmail and total social control.

At the same time, the ecological war for plutocratic resources called green energy is nothing but a new form of slavery on other continents, allowing Western capitalism to be as independent as possible from Russian gas or oil-producing countries. All this is another new great stage of capitalism – green capitalism. It is the exploitation of the climate crisis and biological extinction by capital and the state.

When the New Democracy government came to power, it began an unprecedented upgrade of the repressive apparatus in numbers and technical equipment. The cops are used as a solution to every “problem”: the pandemic, the universities, demonstrations and protests of all types, the gentrification of Athens. The cops are the number one remedy for everything.

All of the above are condensed in the memorandum of understanding between the government of the New Democracy and Volkswagen with the aim of turning Astypalaia into the first smart island, a laboratory that leads the inhabitants to become guinea pigs of the dystopian future. The contract began in September 2021, and aims to gradually replace the island’s conventional vehicles with electric ones. The project is being portrayed by the mainstream media as a technological leap that will benefit the environment and residents. In reality, of course, the memorandum of understanding is nothing more than another way of increasing profitability and repression at the expense of the natural environment and the inhabitants. VW will be able to test autonomous vehicles on the island on terms outside the strict EU legislation, gaining the upper hand against competition. At the same time there is talk of installing hundreds of wind turbines on the island, turning it into a hub for electricity generation and completely destroying the natural environment. Finally, one of the first moves of the project was the donation of electric vehicles from VW to the murderous assault battalions of the cops and the coast guard.

The cooperation between the bloodthirsty New Democracy government and VW is not unprecedented. VW has a long history of supporting fascist and oppressive regimes. From Nazi Germany in the 1930s, to the military dictatorships in Brazil and Argentina, to Franco’s Spain, VW has always been and continues to be at the forefront of capital profiting on top of harsh oppression.

For all these reasons, at dawn on May 10, we visited the VW dealership on Alexandras Avenue. Our intervention resulted in the destruction of several new electric vehicles and the destruction of the front of the dealership, without endangering passers-by or residents of the area. We consider it an integral part of anarchy to recognize those who profit on oppression, misery and exploitation and it is our duty to return the violence they cause.

We dedicate our action to the prisoners of the social war, Fotis, Iasona, Panos and Lambros, who are being prosecuted for the attack on the Piraeus traffic police.

Solidarity with our wounded comrades Boris and Serge from the militant ecological defence on the territories of the French state.

Solidarity to Mónica Caballero and Francisco Solar whose trial against them starts in a few days.

DIRECT ACTION AGAINST TELEPHONE REPEATERS FOR ALFREDO AGAINST 41 BIS

On the night of 27.01 to 28.01, we attacked a cell tower with fire and with immense pleasure, in response to the international call to action in solidarity with Alfredo Cospito (from 22.01 to 28.01). Alfredo has been on hunger strike since 20.10 against 41 BIS and hostile life imprisonment.

On that night we arrived, with a smile on our faces, in the woods of the Turin hillside, increasingly cemented by the presence of the rich and infested with numerous repeaters, sources of innumerable harmfulness, both environmentally and socially.
Attacking a repeater used by IREN (a company that also operates some incinerators in Italy), WIND (one of the promoters of 5G/civilian and military use and artificial intelligence), private surveillance companies and the police, was the least we could do.

This is our small but confrontational and determined contribution to the struggle that is being carried out with great courage and firmness by our comrade Alfredo.

Last November 3, in Grugliasco (To), someone thought well of damaging a 4/5G antenna; we only continued in the same direction with further precision and with the will to sabotage that daily “normality” indifferent to the violence that power carries out every day.

The current hypersupervising and invasive technological society is creating a hyper-connected and digitized world that does not want to give a chance to those who resist and those who do not want to become accomplices of an energy-intensive system aimed at infinite production capable only of creating death and devastation in every part of the moribund globe.

Our enemy, the state, always thinks that by repressing one of us, it can intimidate a thousand; but now is the time to make them understand, once and for all, that their calculations sometimes do not add up.
It is time to consolidate certain practices (the direct actions) that not a few individualities have put in place in recent months. It is time to continue in that direction with additional strength and new forward momentum, without hesitation or fear.

It has been a long time since there have been numerous sabotage of 4/5G antennas and fiber optic installations in France (from 01.01.2022 to 30.10.2022 there are more than 104), as well as direct actions against some wind farms. Even in “our” territories, where the natural and animal world is increasingly domesticated, enslaved and musealized, it is time to raise our heads and act firmly, lucidly and precisely. If not now when?

With your head, with your heart, with your hands, alongside Alfredo and all the people who do not give up.

In the early morning hours of January 16, 2023, we gained access to a well-secured area in the Germaniastraße in Berlin-Tempelhof and took 25 Amazon Prime vehicles out of circulation using incendiary devices. A fire of solidarity with the squatters in Lützerath and the prisoners on hunger strike.

The consumer mania on Black Friday and the lucrative Christmas business are over. The pompous charity and the little bit of contemplation give way to the usual routine of everyday life. The elbows are again extended to be able to exist in the competition of the present society. Inflation and the rising cost of living apparently defying the commodity rush and the associated plundering of the planet and its resources continues unperturbed in the new year and fills the coffers of the crisis winners of the online trade. Amazon’s monopoly position and extensive business model have long revealed it to be a dependency factor for many. But the company stands for much more than just flushing products onto the market at rock-bottom prices.

Your thoughts and feelings are worth their weight in gold

The IT giant’s technological developments point to a bleak future of a dystopian surveillance and control society. Amazon, as a driving force in the establishment of digital capitalism, is not only permanently changing the economy, but also everyday life, social behavior and even our ways of thinking. Artificial intelligences and algorithms are able to contr ol and manipulate needs. Calculations that can be derived from this are already shaping today what will be made into money tomorrow. With a wide range of products and technological infrastructure (servers), the company is pushing into more and more areas of life to satisfy its insatiable hunger for data. Be it through the surveillance software Amazon Ring, which acts as an all-seeing eye guarding the properties of the rich and – now also installed in vehicles – subjects the environment to permanent monitoring. By the voice assistance Alexa, which lurks as ears of the AI in the living rooms and bedrooms and attends even the most intimate moments. By means of facial recognition programs and sensors that are supposed to interpret emotions and direct customers through the self-pay stores of Amazon-Go. Or with a variety of developments in the fields of health and biotechnology to capture everything physical and break it down into numbers. Amazon knows that anyone who has large amounts of information and data at their disposal and can translate the present into mathematical dimensions also has the power to influence the future to their own advantage. Lugano, Switzerland: Claim of incendiary attack on a university van in solidarity with Alfredo Cospito

In the early hours of Tuesday, January 10, far from assembly fanfare, a van at the University of Lugano was attacked with fire in solidarity with fellow anarchist Alfredo Cospito who has been on hunger strike for 83 days.

The choice of the faculty was not accidental, in fact the complex that was attacked houses classrooms and offices of the Faculty of Computer Science (www.inf.usi.ch) of the Faculty of Biomedical Sciences (www.biomed.usi.ch/it), the Department of Innovative Technologies of SUPSI (www.supsi.ch/dti/) and the Dalle Molle Institute of Artificial Intelligence Studies (IDSIA)(www.idsia.ch).

Against the increasingly deadly future proposed by society and civilization, the only viable path is that of attack.

‘Staring down the barrel of an artificially intelligent gun’

The Palestinian’s lining up at the checkpoint near Hebron are being watched by the occupying army of the the IDF, but the child in the line looks up hesitantly at another eye, one that is not human, that of the camera, of the artificial intelligence powered gun that watches his every move.

If the repressive control of the wall that devides up the occupied Palestinian region is not enough, now they are watched over by automated weaponry supplied by Israel’s very own designer, developer, and manufacturer of AI weaponry Smart Shooter. The IDF claim that the gun only fires non-lethal projectiles such as tear gas or plastic bullets. We do not need to be reminded that the Israeli military’s word means nothing, the countless Palestinians that have died rising up against the occupying forces are testimony to what non-lethal means, just as any police force around the world, that are all resembling their own armed forces more and more.

The Smart Shooter gun relies upon facial and gesture recognition, that if it is deemed an agressive act or any act out of the ordinary is recorded, the automated weapon will fire on its own accord. This is the insanity of a techno-prison world we have arrived at now, where the prison that has been built around Palestine will now be guarded by all kinds of automation and robots. A kind of digital dehumanisation is occuring in the existence we occupy, where all actions, all decisions are being removed, even that of life and death.

The Israeli far-right state is no stranger to its use of technology to repress those who resist it. The Israeli security forces have used drones to drop tear gas on rioters and protesters several times on the border, even recently in the brutal repression on the Temple Mount. The same military tech company Smart Shooter have supplied them with an armed drone system to hit stationary and moving targets while flying, named SMASH Dragon. With “One Shot – One Hit” precision, the SMASH is also based on Artificial Intelligence, Computer Vision, and Machine Learning technologies, SMASH is also designed to interconnect with other operational resources to form a micro-tactical network that delivers real-time situational awareness. It can incorporate various types of assault rifles, sniper rifles, 40mm, and other ammunition. China: ‘The Invisible Coat’

China is probably ahead of everyone else in turning the country into a digital concentration camp. CCTV cameras are installed almost at every step and residents are very tired of the constant monitoring, believing that the state thus interferes in their personal lives.

However, for every action of the state, a person looks for counteraction.

Graduate students from Wuhan University won Huawei’s cybersecurity innovation competition, demonstrating a coat whose camouflage prints can hide a person’s identity from AI cameras.

The contest winners say the prints were created using artificial intelligence. The whole point of the pattern on the fabric is to reflect light, so that surveillance cameras can’t react to visible light. At night, special devices, with which the coat is also equipped, distort the thermal radiation and thus manage to deceive the infrared sensors of smart cameras.

The “smart” coat is called InvisDefense. The creators are confident that they have found a reliable way to bypass human recognition technology. Engineers tested their development on campus surveillance cameras. According to the results of the tests, it became clear that in reality the detection accuracy is 57%.

In the future, the developers intend to create “invisible” objects for AI cameras. It can be all sorts of objects or even a car. They are also studying the possibility of bypassing other types of cameras that use remote sensing of satellites or aircraft.

The developers themselves say that their work is intended to identify vulnerabilities in the surveillance system in order to improve it. However, stealth coats are already on sale and at a relatively low price.
