Athens, Greece: ‘Direct Action Cells’ – Responsibility claim for the incendiary attack on the house of MEP Eliza Wozemberg

The Direct Action Cells take responsibility for the placing of an incendiary device at the entrance of the house of Eliza Wozemberg in the Varkiza area in the early morning hours of 26 February. We visited this piece of trash to place our small piece in the mosaic of acts of revenge against those who have cynically stained their hands with blood in the murder of 57 people in Tempe and have tried to cover each other’s asses in a coordinated manner. The chronicle of the crime and its cover-up is pretty much known. The vanguard to save the shattered government’s reputation is made up of some shit-sucking mouthpieces of the right-wing bloc, whether they are MPs and ministers or journalists (like an old acquaintance of ours, Portosalte, who doesn’t seem to have a brain) or even “simple and humble” executives and party members who in the social media also reproduce the party’s main line of laundering the money of those directly involved and attacking the victims’ relatives. Wozenberg could not stand back and keep a low profile. She stood out from this shitty crowd and attacked Karystianou, the mother of one of the victims and president of the Association of Relatives of the Tempi victims, accusing her of deceit, of slandering the country internationally and of having no right to accuse Kostas Karamanlis. For our part, we responded to Wozenberg as she deserves. We answered her because the dead in Tempi could have been us, our brothers and sisters, our mothers and fathers, our friends and comrades. We ask no one for an account to avenge our dead. This is our answer to Wozemberg. With fire, as she deserves.

The reason our team targeted Wozemberg is because of the dirty role she has played at the European level in covering up the Tempi crime. Mitsotakis took advantage of his lobbying support for the re-election of Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and that support was compensated for, with 2 buffers. The appointment of Wozenberg to the position of chairman of the Transport Committee in the European Parliament and the appointment of Apostolos Tzitzikostas to the position of EU Commissioner for Transport and Tourism. In this way the Mitsotakis regime has also secured European immunity for its crimes as the 2 main positions in the EU dealing with transport issues are held by New Democracy appointees. Therefore, the New Democracy ensures that there will be no unexpected consequences for the crime of Tempe and its subsequent cover-up on the part of the “European institutions”.

Besides, Wozemberg had the audacity to recognize in Karamanlis an innocent minister without responsibility and at the same time to desecrate the memory of the dead by accusing their relatives of being politically motivated. She has probably forgotten the times when her ancestors (during the monarchy of Otto, which is her lineage) would have already sent people like Karastianou and anyone who would have questioned their God-given right to rule us to the gallows. That’s why, after all, she got what she deserved. Just as we also understand that it makes sense that a proud descendant of a royal family would become a shield for a descendant of a stinking family of politicians like the Karamanlis. A family that still has some property titles in the New Democracy so that so far at least it has managed to save from criminal liability the tub of guts who was angrily protesting train safety just days before their clash. One hand washes the other and the two together attempt to push the dead of Tempi into oblivion as an accident of the rank and file.

We are outraged that all these scumbags like Wozemberg, Mitsotakis, Adonis, Karamanlis, Voridis, Markopoulos, Voultepsi and dozens of other members of the government mafia come out without fear and with enormous arrogance to attack relatives of the dead, scientists and experts who question the government’s narrative. It infuriates us that this arrogance and the tone of a thousand hearts with which they speak is also stepping on the support of a section of society. A rotten piece that only looks out for themselves, the little extra money they make and supports a government of proven mobsters and murderers. On February 28th those of us who demand street justice must do everything in our power to break this arrogance of theirs. Athens, Greece: Direct Action Cells Claim Responsibility for Arson Attack Against the Home of Judge Elias Kanellopoulos

The Direct Action Cells claim full responsibility for the arson attack on the home of judge Elias Kanellopoulos in the Cholargos area (a suburb in Athens). Our attack is an action of solidarity with the mobilizations of the prisoners in the prisons of the territory. It is also a continuation of the strategy of the personal targeting of those involved in the constant tightening of criminal repression and the repressive management applied in the field of prisons. From the architect of the new penal code, Lambros Margaritis, to the head of the Inspection and Control Body of the Prisons, Spyridoula Presvia, and now to Ilias Kanellopoulos, an appellant seconded to the Ministry of Justice, who was one of the close associates of the former Minister of Justice, Kostas Tsiaras, during whose days the new penal and penitentiary code was created and passed.

Our message is clear. The Direct Action Cells do not forget the people behind bars, the families who are suffering and tormented by the methods of the judges, the police and those prison officers who have the impression that they are untouchable. We do not forget the political prisoners who are paying the price for their choice of joining the revolutionary struggle. The explosions outside the homes of those who, in one way or another, choose to make the lives of prisoners a nightmarish reality, brings home, even if only on a symbolic level, the combative reality of the permanent anarchist threat.

Athens, Greece: Arson Attack on the Home of Far-Right MP Giannis Dimitrokalis by Direct Action Cells

The Direct Action Cells carried out the arson attack on the home of the MP for Spartans (a far-right political party established in 2017) of Eastern Attica, Yannis Dimitrokalis, in the area of Ilizia during the morning of October 28. The choice of the date was not accidental. The era of resistance to the Nazi occupiers and their local collaborators, the sacrifices, suffering, toil and struggles of hundreds of thousands of fighters during the period 1940-1949 is a political heritage which we actively defend against all kinds of historical revisionists and falsifiers. The political ancestors of Dimitrokalis, Kasidiaris (Illias Kasidiaris, a far-right politician and one of the former leaders of Golden Dawn, who is still politically active despite being in prison since 2021) and his group are the ones who handed over to the Nazi German invaders the thousands of communists who were imprisoned and had begged in vain to be released to fight them. They are the ones who put on a hood and became informers. They are the ones who became black marketers and condemned hundreds of thousands to hunger and misery. They are the ones who became Hitlerites and National Socialists, swore allegiance to the Third Reich and fought on the side of the Germans and then the British imperialists. So let all these penny-pinching patriots know that history has recorded the political ancestors of Kasidiaris and his followers as the accomplices of those who stepped with their fascist boots on the heads of those who fought with their blood for altars and hearths.

With our attack shortly before the anniversary of the execution of the two neo-Nazis in Neos Heraklion by the organization “Fighting People’s Revolutionary Forces”, we wanted to send a message of militant anti-fascism by targeting a member of the largest far-right party in Greece at the moment. November 1 is a rallying point for fascists on a pan-European level. For us, November 1 symbolizes the political dynamic of armed action, its historical significance, its timeless necessity. It symbolizes the day when the constant victimization of the left and parts of the anarchist space were deafeningly shattered. Let us not forget that many political forces that are now rushing to participate in the anti-fascist rallies were the ones who, in the face of the fear of fascists and repression, had condemned the action and spoke of agent provocateurs and reactionaries. Athens, Greece: Responsibility claim for the attack on the head of the Prison Control Inspectorate by Direct Action Cells – ‘Cell Katerina Goulioni’

The Direct Action Cells take responsibility for the attack with a low-powered incendiary/explosive device at the home of the head of the Inspection and Control Corps of the Detention Facilities and Deputy Prosecutor of Appeals Spyridoulas Presveias at 13 Solomou Street in the area of Glyfada, in the early hours of 1/4.

We are sending a clear message to prison prosecutors, prison wardens, prison officers, wardens, directors, social workers who choose to treat prisoners as second-class citizens. Who choose to play dirty political games on their backs. Who become agents of the Ministry of Civil Protection in order to advance themselves and their careers. Gather round because you will find us in front of you. The prosecutor we targeted is at the top of the institution responsible for the internal control of prisons and is directly responsible for all the injustices suffered by prisoners, especially after the passage of the new penal and new prison code.

Spyridoulas Presvias as the head of the Prison Inspection and Control Corps (ΣΕΕΚΚ) is the person whose responsibilities concern the most authoritarian parts of the anti-crime policy. He was appointed by the (former) secretary general of anti-crime policy Sophia Nikolaou, a failed New Democracy politician and declared enemy of prisoners, who a few years ago did everything in her power to murder the communist revolutionary Dimitris Koufontinas. In recent years, and after her appointment as its head, the ΣΕΕΚΚ, in addition to conducting investigations and files within the prison, has been upgraded to a body that can take legislative and administrative initiatives to further repress prisoners within the prison. This agency and the upgrading of its repressive tools is part of the broader planning of the New Democracy government for prisons as reflected in the new penal code and the new penitentiary code and a number of other repressive moves they call anti-crime policy. The state may talk about a “war on crime”, but in reality the policies that follow these declarations do not reduce crime, nor do they work to promote the cohesion of society. On the contrary, these policies are the intensification of the war through the systematic class, social and political exclusion declared by the ruling classes against the social base. And the prisons constitute the ultimate point, the absolute domination of this exclusion over the bodies of those who end up in the concrete tombs of bourgeois democracy. Before the truth about the event has even come to light, police reporters have begun to weave the dominant narrative. The journalistic vagrancy is talking about a maniacal driver who rammed a police vehicle to get away from the chase. It is the compounded lie that as another truth will give extenuating circumstances to the thug of the DI.AS. In the same way that the uniformed scum in Perama were exonerated. The journalistic sycophants, bloodthirsty in the arena of spectacle, constitute the state narrative that adorns the prestige of the criminal nature of tyranny.

When the state murdered the 15-year-old anarchist comrade Alexandros Grigoropoulos, the media saw vandalism and riots. When the battalions of Chrysochoidis executed comrade Lambros Fountas, the terror panels of Lambropoulos and Souliotis spoke of an Albanian thug. In Perama 38 bullets in the body of Nikos Sampanis shielded the self-defence of the motorized assault battalions of the DI.AS. And when the lie does not overshadow the truth, they bury it by overemphasizing it in the next main news story, just as they buried the murder of 16-year-old Michalis in Ditika, when he was swept away by a police service vehicle. The Greek justice system doesn’t have a problem, it is the problem itself

Direct Action Cells claim responsibility for the following incendiary attacks:

At the home of the judge Panagiota Yioupi, at dawn on Friday October 14, in the Glyfada area.

Youpi is one of the many servile puppets of the gang that operates under the name of Greek justice. She presided in the trial of the child rapist and member of the Mitsotakis family, Dimitris Lignadis, who was released from prison after being found guilty of raping underage children. She is a judge who is part of the influential entourage of the drug-dealing shipping tycoon Vangelis Marinakis, having issued a series of provocative rulings in favor of his interests during her term as a judge in Piraeus.

Yioupi is relentless when confronted with the poor, handing out years of sentences with the same ease she would hand out toys at a children’s party. But she has a peculiarity, she turns into a sensitive and soulful person when confronted by people from high society, with political connections, access and financial clout.

At the home of the judge Myrsini Papachiou, at dawn on Saturday, November 5, in the Zografou area.

Papachiou occupies the highest levels of the cesspool known as civil justice. The throne that she sits on as vice president of the Supreme Court is built from the pain of shattered human lives destroyed by prison.

Our decision to target her, apart from her institutional role, is related to the fact that she is currently involved in the Novartis scandal, being a member of the special court that is currently trying state prosecutors and government officials from the former SYRIZA government, as defendants for allegedly orchestrating a conspiracy in this particular case. She is also a court tribunal member for the upcoming trial of a former SYRIZA minister in a case regarding TV licenses. In fact, in order for Papahiou to be a member of these tribunals, she was hastily promoted to the rank of deputy-president a few days before the selection of tribunal members took place. Without any desire to get involved in the shifting alliances and infighting of this rotten political establishment, we recognize that this court is acting as a white-washing machine for sections of the political elite who are involved in the Novartis scandal. An international scandal that demonstrates with surgical precision how capitalism works. Multinationals, big pharma and politicians were complicit in the criminal regulation of drug prices in the health sector. They were complicit in the dismantling of public hospitals, in the operation of an organized international state-economic mafia that exploited in the worst possible way one of the most basic services, that of health. The government’s systematic attempt to present this scandal as a frame-up goes hand in hand with its refusal to demand compensation from the company. As Direct Action Cells we take responsibility for the incendiary attack on the home owned by the child rapist, pimp and member of the New Democracy party Elias Michos, and his ex-wife Elizabeth Lekka. In the early morning of 23/10, we placed a low-powered incendiary/explosive device at the entrance of their apartment building in the Attica area.

An organised ring promoting and covering up pimps, rapists, child rapists, murderers and torturers – The cutting edge of the domestic capital mafia

For those who still insist on not understanding the systemic support and cover-up of police and fascist attacks, for those who still insist that the judiciary is neutral and independent of the domestic bourgeois elite and the whole mechanism of consolidating and monopolizing the violence it practices, for those who were not satisfied with the acquittal of the pimp and child rapist of the New Democracy, Nikos Georgiadis, the “special-friendly treatment” of the mafia boss Menios Fourthiotis, but also the full release on parole of the New Democracy’s Petros Lefkowitz for the serial rapes of his daughter since she was 11 years old, we would like to list only a few of the recent cases where the full complicity of the civil justice system with the scum who destroyed lives was proven. All this is already known, we are simply quoting it in a condensed form to make it absolutely visible that STATE AND CAPITAL VICTORY, VIOLATE AND KILL, that their very nature is exploitation, barbarism, devaluation of lives and the imposition of terror, and that every aspect of political and social life is class and value-determined. It is a SYSTEM FOR PRODUCING TERROR, VIOLENCE AND DEATH, with the corresponding mechanisms of communication management and laundering.

Two years ago, after a solidarity meeting for those arrested during a march against the burning of garbage by Lafarge / AGET in Volos, the comrade Vassilis Maggos was arrested. The cops of the Magnesia Police Directorate torture him and, after covering their voracious violent appetites, throw him into the street. The blows were fatal for the comrade, who breathes his last breath on 13/7/2020. This state murder is still being covered up today by the state-judicial apparatus, as only three cops were indicted for the simple misdemeanour of “dangerous bodily harm”, while no names have been released, and now that the case is being tried, the “law and order enforcers” are committing violence against the people in solidarity who had gathered at the Volos courts.
Last summer, the deafening case of the pimping and rape of a minor girl by her father and a cop at the Ilioupolis police station came to light, with the knowledge and the brutal cover-up of the other state agents of that department. The pimps, rapists and cover-ups are still circulating among us, the case was covered up and buried, until the next and the time after that when we will learn again about trafficking and (child) rape rings involving cops and “prominent” households.
One year ago, on 22/10/2021, cops execute Nikos Sampanis in Perama, gunning him down with 36 bullets after a chase due to racial profiling, and defying orders from the operations centre not to follow the stolen vehicle. The cops claimed they were on “defense,” which of course was debunked by video footage and eyewitnesses. The follow-up is predictable. Immediately all seven were acquitted, returned to work as normal and are walking among us. Berlin, Germany: Arson attack on a vehicle of the Greek Embassy

Attentively we have followed how the Greek state crushes demonstrations in the streets of Athens. The government of Nea Dimokratia and its judiciary have proven that in the hunger strikes of D. Koufontinas and G. Michailidis, they are ready to let prisoners die rather than give in one step. We know the videos of the lynching with the participation of police officers of Zak Kostopoulos. As well as the execution of N. Sampanis in Perama by DIAS is an expression of a ruthless regime, as is the murder of Vassilis Maggos in Volos. Blood drips from the hands of the Greek authorities.

The new junta thinks it is smart to take advantage of the August vacation period to begin construction of the metro station in Exarcheia. Their goal is to destroy every social base and occupy every place of resistance with troops. The evictions of squats in Thessaloniki and the police invasion of the university there have not escaped us either.

Everywhere the Greek state encounters resistance from parts of society. We want to support this resistance in order to bring down the project of ND. The system of ND, its judiciary and its cops, is the state of rapists. The release of rapists and the simultaneous attack on a feminist demonstration in July in Athens, symbolizes the values of Mitsotakis’ government.

The Direct Action Cells take responsibility for the attack with an incendiary device at the house of the MP of the New Democracy and journalist of SKAI, Babis Papadimitriou, in Metz in the morning of 6/7. Wanting to honour the real freedom of speech that is persecuted and silenced in the Western countries, we gave the name of Julian Assange to the cell that carried out the action. So that we can recall what it really means to silence freedom of speech with persecution, prisons, courts, when a journalist exposes the war crimes and massacres committed by capitalism.

Babis Papadimitriou belongs to this category of SKAI journalists who redeemed the worm work he did for so many years with a parliamentary seat in New Democracy. The Anglo-Saxon model followed by the SKAI television group in defending New Democracy, as Portosalte had said, has another parameter. The function of SKAI as a political reservoir for future executives and MPs of the New Democracy.

We have mentioned the illusion of security offered by the arrogance of a dominant position of a political official or a big journalist. So now Babis Papadimitriou has crawled out of his house in front of the television cameras to protest against the state’s inability to stop terrorists.

A TV puppet with a consciously argumentative speech, whose persona has been skilfully manipulated over the years by the shipowners who have him on their payroll and the political managers of New Democracy. The similarities with Aris Portosalte are many. After all, together they have marked a period when SKAI was outraged by plaguing the social resistance to the imposition of the memorandum programmes. As a journalistic duo they provoked the anger and disgust towards them from the majority of society. It is no coincidence, moreover, that at the news of the attacks on their homes the social reactions were jubilant from a multitude of people of our class. LET FEAR CHANGE SIDES

The Direct Action Cells undertook the incendiary attacks on the homes of the Secretary General of the Greek Police Officers’ Union Evangelos Mantziorou on June 2 in Peristeri and the SKAI journalist Aris Portosalte on June 14 in Vrilissia. Our attacks were carried out in the context of our strategy expressed through the slogan “Fear must change sides”. For the last 1.5 years we have been trying with all our forces to target people who, from their position, staff the Greek capitalist formation. High-ranking police officers, big journalists, government officials, technocrats who plan government policy, judges, have been targeted. At the same time we have carried out incendiary actions against financial and political targets. Our action is aimed at sending a clear message to these puppet masters. Those who from their position participate in the savage attack that capitalism has unleashed on all aspects of our lives are in the crosshairs of the Direct Action Cells.

Their apologetic statements, the terror with which they jump out of bed when they hear the explosions of the devices we place in their homes, the condemnatory statements of the parties and the media, show that we are on the right track. The encouraging comments from our people, our class people, are our strength to carry on. Through our actions we are trying to keep alive the tradition and practice of direct action. To make it clear that our enemies have names and addresses. To prove that our momentum is greater when we become unpredictable and to call on other militants to follow our example.

The choice of the far-right neoliberal university student and his targeting was not the result of a victimhood and a source of disgust caused by his public presence. Aris Portosalte as a persona encapsulates the most extreme aspects of neoliberal discourse in the country and with his shrill voice he challenges and seduces the sympathetic ears of the neoliberal audience. His daily rants are not the opinion of a journalist, as he and those who deplored the attack on his house want to peddle, but the outgrowth of the political footprint of New Democracy in Greece at the cutting edge of its thought and speech production, the media. Like another harlequin, he has taken a leading role in the forefront of far-right propaganda and is doing the dirty work that the ruling party’s political cadres often avoid.
