Athens, Greece: So what about vaccinations? by Anarchists, Mid-July 2021

PDF ENGLISH:

So what about vaccinations?

While the Greek state – like many other European states – is ramping up the pressure on its population to get the Covid19 vaccination, many seem to have ceded to this imposition of “making the responsible choice”. Let it be clear that we think individuals can have legitimate reasons to get the vaccination. We do not hold a moralistic judgment on getting vaccinated or not. But we keep on being reluctant. We think that the whole discourse about taking responsibility actually aims to give greater powers to the state by creating a dual society with privileges for those who comply and sanctions for those who don’t want to or cannot comply. This means a reinforcement of control and inequalities.

Believe the leaders

We don’t think we have to dwell on this very long. We have been forced to wear masks while walking alone in a park. We have been fined for being on the street at night while the metros were overcrowded during the day. We have been insulted for sitting on the squares while the indoors work places were running at full capacity. And we have seen them cynically calculating the costs of providing extra hospital beds against shutting down parts of the economy. We have seen them opting to hire more cops while the health of people was at stake. We have seen them trying to smother any form of protest while ramming through more exploitative and oppressive policies. They have lost all credibility and they know it, the only thing they can still do is twisting our arms and blackmailing us.

Believe the data

We are told that the data are clear, that getting the vaccination is the safe(r) choice. But even if we might accept that the existing data on vaccinations is correct, there is a whole lot of data we don’t have (yet). The first thing that springs to attention is that all the available vaccinations are temporarily approved through an emergency process. None of the Covid19 vaccinations are fully approved and they cannot be because we don’t have any data on the long-term effects. We can make assumptions based on other similar vaccinations in the past (although the vaccines based on the new mRNA technology don’t have such a history), but there are no guarantees about the long-term. Everyone taking the vaccination should be fully aware of this. And already because of this fact alone any obligation or pressure to take the vaccination should be ethically wrong. Athens,Greece: Responsibility claim for arson attacks on 2 stores by Proletarian Cell

Posted on 2021/08/01 by darknights

We take responsibility for the arson attacks on 2 stores owned by the General Secretariat for Civil Protection and Crisis Management, Nikos Hardalias, in vuronas area , as well as in the house of the Vice President of Hellenic Electricity Distribution Network Operator ΔΕΔΔΗΕ.

CAPITALISTIC RESTRUCTURING AGAINST THE HEALTH CRISIS

The government of N.D. , strategically choosing the repressive management of the pandemic, has launched a violent class and social attack on youth and the world of work, which aims at the collapse of rights and conquests, but also the wider restructuring of the capitalist state.

In a time of global capitalist and health crisis, the government has created a bleak environment of insecurity and fear. Like all previous governments it tried to abdicate its criminal responsibilities for dismantling the public health system, leaving them to the “individual responsibility” of each and every one.

But really, who is responsible for the thousands of dead in the pandemic? Who is responsible for the non-existent protection measures in the workplace? When were measures taken or large industries closed? Who is responsible for stacking the poor on public transport? Who is responsible for the fact that private ICU beds were not ordered, at the same time as our fellow human beings were dying on trollies in the hospital corridors? Who has been served by the government’s policy of opening borders to tourists, if not the tourist lobbies? Who is responsible for the sharp rise in drugs and psychotropic drugs, as well as domestic violence during the lockdown period? What politics is sinking more and more people into dependencies, unable to cope with the daily deadlocks of capitalist everyday life?

Even during the period of hard lockdown, the government, instead of giving funds for the staffing of the public health system, preferred to give huge sums to rulers to reproduce the dominant propaganda, as well as equipment to the police and the NATO imperialist mechanism. At Chrysochoidis’ (Minister for Citizen Protection of Greece ) command, thousands of recruits were made and hundreds of vehicles, motorbikes, armour, technological equipment were purchased, in order to strengthen the mastiffs of capital and its state, in the logic of precautionary counter-insurgency and social-class resistance.

This repressive management is made clear both by the bans and arrests made in the mobilisations of November 17 and December 6, and by the extreme repressive attack on the demonstrations for the hunger strike of the political prisoner D. Koufontinas, the repression of the student occupations in Athens and Thessaloniki, the beating and torture of militants, the criminalization of political action through the banning of demonstrations, the imposition of fines and the creation of a misdemeanor for the dispersal of COVID-19. Athens, Greece: Responsibility claim for the arson attack on the house of Giannis Pretenteris by Direct Action Cells – Insurgent Violence Cell

Posted on 2021/08/01 - 2021/08/02 by darknights

Within the framework of the Direct Action Cells, as a Cell of Insurgent Violence, we take responsibility for the arson attack at the entrance of the house of Giannis Pretenteris.

We were not surprised by the condemnations of the bourgeois political parties, the ESIEA (Athens Daily Newspaper Editors’ Union), the government representative. Giannis Pretenteris has proved on every possible occasion that he is the most loyal watchdog of the corrupt economic and political elite that has been ruling this country with arrogance and impunity for all these years. Pretenderis symbolises a person – a role model for the bourgeois world. His position in the system, the posts and the tasks he has been called upon to carry out follow a double path that ends up on the same road.

The first one that makes his appearance in front of the cameras of the television channels. Fancy, dominant, powerful, subsidized, manufactured. Pretenteris is a shining example of a tireless propaganda machine called upon to represent state and capitalist interests and to shape a social ethic, the ethic of the system. This morality that always presents itself in the imperious guise of the social majority, in order to strike with the stick of the dominant class violence and to order with impudence – using techniques of psychological warfare – those who harm the interests of the powerful. Spreading fake news, constant attempts to manipulate citizens, slander, character assassination are on his daily agenda. At the same time, its ideological profile, which can be described as “modernist” in the standards of the hard neoliberal centre, is the official television representation of political power and the most unscrupulous economic interests. For Pretenteris there is one unbreakable rule: Whatever suits and serves the power system that supports him is ethical and legal. Whatever threatens its interests is illegal and arbitrary.

Pretenteris’ other path is dark. It is that of shady dealings with political and economic interests, of willing brokering all kinds of state and parastatal dirty tricks, of well-paid under-the-table deals on where to provide his required political support. It is the route of a loyal courtier who has pitched his tent outside the villas of the big business tycoons, the media owners, the contractors, the big political families, waiting with excessive servility for their dictates. The route of black money, offshore, extensive tax evasion, the mafia-like operations of the system that are laundered with no compensation by appointed journalists like Pretenderis.

Giannis Pretenteris, as a stooge of Lambrakis and Bobolas, made his first appearances on private television, on ANT1. He was one of the first to give voice and political legitimacy to the nazis of Golden Dawn in the 1990s, calling out Nikos Michaloliakos and giving the floor to Periandros Andritsopoulos and other henchmen of the then Golden Dawn to drip their Neo-Nazi poison in public. After all, when it serves state planning, bourgeois democracy reproduces its version of political pluralism and tolerance. Of course, as long as the opposing voice has given credentials of allegiance to the state and the capitalists that the deep core of their interests will remain untouched.

Giannis Pretenteris quickly jumps to MEGA1, while writing for the then Lambrakis-owned print press (VIMA, NEA2). He becomes a key commentator on the main newscast and has his own political show. His tireless insistence on the ideological and political defence of every act of state violence, every economic and political scandal, turns him and his show into a slogan shouted in the streets of the cities by the student movement fighting against the then Diamantopoulou law3 – framework: “Subversion is not a show, Pretraderis die to make a celebration”. Pretenteris had deservedly earned the dislike of those involved in social – political demands, as everyone was ground down by his propaganda millstone.

Alongside his daily defence of the memoranda and the policies being pursued in that period, he was again one of the first to give a television voice to the racist “residents’ committees”4, so that the racist poison found a response in the armies of the newly deprived of the crisis. We are sure that in May 2012 Pretenteris was looking at the election results with pride. He had contributed the most to the 7% of Golden Dawn, as the shipowner who now has him on his pay roll at IOM (International Organisation for Migration) also wished. Greece: Solidarity fund for the imprisoned anarchist comrade Giannis Dimitrakis EN/GR

Since 24/05, our friend and comrade, anarchist political prisoner Giannis Dimitrakis is being hospitalized at Lamia with heavy injuries from the murderous attack against him at Domokos prison. At the very moment, it appears that Giannis has overcomed the danger of the first hours. The injuries that he sustained however, have caused multiple hematomas in the head that influence basic functions of his brain.

On the murderous attack against anarchist comrade Giannis Dimitrakis

Since 24/05, our friend and comrade, anarchist political prisoner Giannis Dimitrakis is being hospitalized at Lamia with heavy injuries from the murderous attack against him at Domokos prison. At the very moment, it appears that Giannis has overcomed the danger of the first hours. The injuries that he sustained however, have caused multiple hematomas in the head that influence basic functions of his brain. On Sunday 30/05, many of us gathered outside of the hospital of Lamia. We shouted slogans just a few meters away from his bedroom window to express our solidarity, even though Giannis could not hear us. Since then, his state seems to be improving. For his health to be fully restored, however, continuiing monitoring from specialized medical personell is required for several months. It is obvious that such care cannot be given in the prison environment.

In this critical condition, the scumbags of the New Democracy government, the murderers of prisoners, Michalis Chrisochoidis, Sofia Nicholaou and their substitents, after trying to downgrade and even withhold the incident, decided on Thursday 03/06 the transport of Giannis Dimitrakis back to Domokos prison, going as far as to place him in an isolation cell for covid prevention purposes. The transfer of our comrade there, while his brain functions remain in immediate danger, is basically like a second murder attempt against him. Domokos prison is scheduled to soon become a discipline prison (type C) for political and undisciplined prisoners, although the prison does not fulfill the requirements to support decent health care that is needed for the recovery of a prisoner with such heavy injuries. After the near murder of Dimitris Koufontinas by the government, while he struggles to recover from his recent hunger strike in the same miserable conditions of the same prison, the murderous attack on Giannis is added to this equation as well. As Assembly of Solidarity with political prisoners and persecuted fighters, and as a solidarity movement in general, we are determined not to let our comrade helpless in their blood stained hands. Nothing can stay unanswered, not one of the death policy managers can be left in peace. As an assembly we generally try to see the issue of prisons system not separated but as a part of the big picture of the social and political issue. In the same way, we see the political prisoners as comrades first, but also as captives of the social-class war that always festers in this cruel capitalist world. In the same way, we understand the legal and prison system, firstly as a state policy determined by the class war, but also as a part of the total policy of the economy, health, education and environment as well. In all these fields, state and capital are moving in a neoliberal approach, attempting to demolish what is left as an obstacle in the way of capitalist development. At the same time, they try to silence every voice of resistance and drown every revolutionary prespective and tradition in sorrow. They use propaganda in order to strengthen their violence and dominance policy. Keeping that in mind, we consider both the specific events and the general state of the Greek prison system as social and political events that mirror the situation outside of prison as well.

Volos, Greece: Explosive attack at the AGET factory by Direct Action Cell ‘Vassilis Maggos’

Posted on 2021/07/23 - 2021/08/29 by darknights

ACTION REPLACES TEARS

In the early morning of Sunday 18/7, we attacked, placing an incendiary device on the transformers of the transformer of the power substation of AGET, located inside the factory. We proceeded with this action, thus paying tribute to our comrade Vassilis Maggos, exactly one year after his death. We do not forget and will not forgive the perpetrators of his beating and torture. The AGET plant is a scourge for the city of Volos, condensing the rage of the institutions of power against the environment and the society of Volos. They are the moral perpetrators of last year’s events that led to the death of our comrade, and this will not be forgotten until we see the ashes and ruins of the factory. In this context, we have offered several litres of petrol and many flames to those who daily give cancer to an entire city. The system has concealed the action because it feels and is vulnerable, confirming to us that fear has begun to change sides. It is everyone’s business to take life into our own hands in militant terms.

Tears for Vassili will become their nightmares.

And even if we never win we will always fight!

Greece: Public denunciation of the paid mafiosa of the state and the bosses by Organisation Anarchist Action

Posted on 2021/07/22 - 2021/07/22 by darknights

Make them all pay dearly | Pay for everything

We refuse to be spectators to our own demise. We refuse to accept vulgarity and the degredation of values as a condition of life. The end of history belongs to those who surrender their weapons. For us, on the contrary, history is written only through the persistent struggle of social subversion. Loyalty and commitment to the path of intolerance and rupture with the status quo. In this struggle, we must mobilise every means to build up our social and class defences. Where everyone is silent and abstaining, it is a revolutionary duty not just to speak but to act. Silence is a position of complicity in every state crime. And we have already lost too many for defiant silence.

All the vulgarity of democracy finds flesh and blood in the security forces

The repugnant immorality of the known family that runs our lives is mirrored in the blank check that has been given to the uniformed killers to take back the blood and lost honor of the right for years of absence from the big chair. Constant beatings and torture by the uniformed trash, abusive behaviour and vulgar looks at anyone who walks by every stale cop, arrests, imprisonment, rape, torture, deaths in police stations, prisons and concentration camps and a list of criminal actions by the Greek Police that has no end. In this condition impunity is not just negligence. It is a desecration of the memory of those who were tortured, abused and murdered by uniformed hands.

Greek-Police-Greek-Rapists

If some of us are no longer with us, because the patriarchy has seen to it that they are buried in the ground, we ought to be their cry seeking revenge. Revenge for every one of our lost sisters. For every one who was abused, raped, tortured, murdered by the men next door. For each and every one that when her case came to light and fell into the dirty hands of bourgeois justice, the cops made sure to repeat the same torture. To question the testimonies of the witnesses, to disregard the complaints, to not intervene while observing protocol, to turn a blind eye. Why? Because, quite simply, it is the cops who legally control the trafficking of locals and immigrant women, the drug trade and every other illegal activity that feeds violence and death. The rapists, sex traffickers, drug dealers and every other piece of trash are also part of their own cohorts who will willingly find protection under the uniformed wing.

To the uniformed scum, Karolain’s killer is a fool (per Balaska), not because he took a woman’s life but because he didn’t weigh his defense better so that he could get out in 4-5 years citing a crime in the heat of passion and go on with his life unmolested. For the years of pleading experience in similar cases in the central torture of the GADA Headquaters of the Greek Police), a convincing tale was enough anyway to acquit the Greek wife-killer and a Georgian arrested man who, it cannot be, would confess after 4 days of torture even to a murder he has not committed. For the uniformed scum the sanctuary of the home is a sacred commodity as it was religiously observed in Petralona throughout the rape and torture of a 50 year old working woman for 9 long hours until a search warrant came with the rapist having his whole life ahead of him to go up in smoke. A few hours later the police presence was swift and suffocating as hundreds of solidarity workers rushed to fill the streets to highlight the incident, actively standing by the working woman’s side. And just when everything seems to be going their way yet another incident shocks the nation: a uniformed scum held hostage, raped and extorted a 19-year-old girl for a month, with the indiscriminate Internal Affairs officials having full knowledge by covering up an entire pimping ring and proceeding to detain-interrogate the victim for long hours rather than providing her obvious and immediate medical and mental health care. We ask for neither transparency nor respect for the law, although we accept the necessity for a woman to resort to the tools of civil law to defend her life and integrity. From the position we are in and the choices of militant resistance we have made, we have an absolute duty to highlight the true dimension of the problem and seek revenge for the loss of each of our sisters. The Greek Police is nothing more than a gang of pimps, rapists, torturers and murderers who hide behind the facade of legality, order and security. But none of us have ever felt safe in the hands of cops. Continue reading “Greece: Public denunciation of the paid mafiosa of the state and the bosses by Organisation Anarchist Action” →

Athens, Greece: A presentation from 325 for the event at the Libertarian Hangout of Pikrodafni EN/GR

Posted on 2021/07/22 - 2021/07/23 by darknights

Telephone presentation about 325 #12 – ‘Against the Fourth and Fifth Industrial Revolutions’ by a comrade from the 325 Collective at the event (https://athens.indymedia.org/event/84890/ ) held at the libertarian hangout Pikrodafni in support of the Solidarity Fund for Prisoners’ & Persecuted Fighters.

I want to start off by saying that I regret not being there in person, to see the faces of the comrades in attendance today because we are increasingly existing in a reality that is being dominated more by the screen and devices that have become artificial substitutes for what is real, the human face to face communication, something really lacking in the present we are in. So maybe one day we will see each others faces, our expressions of complicity, exchange some conspiratorial words. We are living in times now where ‘the movements’, well the remnants of I would call it, are struggling to find a new energy, a new path, a new trajectory through these times of pandemic, the blatant repression and control inflicted on us all, not just ‘the movements.’ This is why I am speaking to you now, as a comrade with deep concern about what is coming across the horizon at us faster than it has before, to build connection internationally, to spread ideas that can transform into action, because we are anarchists, not philosophers, academics, leftists or activists, we are those who do not see a separation between ideas and action, transforming our everyday into the attack.

The 325 project with its publications since 2004 was born from a DIY ethos, with insurrection, crime, autonomy, anti-prison and anti-psychiatry themes evolving into an ‘insurgent zine of social war & anarchy’ in later issues. From the outset there has been an increasing concentration on an international perspective, but especially with the development of technology, the destruction, death and control it inflicts.

Recently in the last 3 issues, #10, #11 & the recent issue this presentation focuses on, Issue #12, have come to concentrate on an anti-technology perspective, even given name to such an accelerating shift within the state, capitalism and the technological-industrial system, as the 4th & 5th Industrial Revolutions and within it the threat of the Technological Singularity.

The recent issue of 325, is a coming together of international anarchist individuals and collectives concentrating on the similar theme, analysis of the new realities that are the 4th & 5th Industrial Revolutions. A definition I feel is required here for both. The 4th Industrial Revolution (also known Industry 4.0) is the ongoing automation of traditional manufacturing and industrial practices, using modern smart technology. Large-scale machine-to-machine communication and the internet of things (IoT) are integrated for increased automation, improved communication and self-monitoring, and production of smart machines that can analyze and diagnose issues without the need for human intervention. This will mostly marked by the breakthrough of emerging technologies such as robotics, artificial intelligence, nanotechnology, quantum computing, biotechnology, the internet of things, the industrial internet of things, decentralized consensus, cashless society, cryptocurrencies, fifth-generation wireless technologies (5G), 3D printing, and fully autonomous vehicles. All of these as most of you are probably aware are already permeating through our present society, which shows the 4IR is already under way. Athens, Greece: Incendiary Attack Against a FORD Dealership in Memory of the George Floyd Uprising

Posted on 2021/07/15 by darknights

On July 1 at dawn in the area of Gyzi on Chaldari Street, we carried out an arson attack on the Ford dealership. As a result, at least two vehicles and the front of the company were burnt to the ground.

The choice of this particular target was not accidental. This is an American giant with branches throughout the world that has played a dominant role in the global capitalist scene. In particular, its founder Henry Ford in 1913 introduced a model of work organisation in which workers perform a set of identified movements, repeated over many hours. The work of the one cut off and alienated, as a stone of the production set, influences the work of the other in chains, raising the intensity and rhythm of production and work. Moreover, the possibility of refusals and resistances during work is reduced, since all the workers’ movements are dependent and form a chain. This has been a historical form of repression and surveillance of workers.

Fourth, Ford’s relationship with the US cops is widely known. It is one of the companies that has reinforced the repression carried out by the US state by providing equipment and vehicles. Even in Greece, in Laconia, Ford Motor Hellas has provided a vehicle worth 48,000 euros for the needs of the cops of the OPKE for the second time. The Mayor of Sparta has excellent relations with this company while the deputy mayor Thanasis Karlaitis former cop, he stressed: “hopefully other agencies will follow Ford’s example for the benefit of the citizens”.

A year before the lines of this text, George Floyd was abused to death and murdered by US cops. Savage conflicts break out across much of the USA with the main expression being the oppression of the African-American community and beyond. Protests break out internationally from country to country. In Greece diverse actions are taking place. For our part, one year later we keep the flame and the memory alive for the dead and the oppressed of our class. Wanting to bring back the energies of then with today. Targets that exist everywhere – a strategic proposal for building a common front against the profiteers of war and repression Rapidly, time marches on; we are already in the 2nd year of the Covid-19 state of emergency and, knowing that no power will ever voluntarily relinquish its new mechanisms of control, anarchist and other libertarian movements all over the globe are looking for strategies and practical means against it. In some regions, social tensions have recently erupted into riots.

Elsewhere, there are short-lived outbreaks known as Corona Riots. As anarchists, we are often surprised by the dynamics, sometimes finding ourselves in the crowd of the street battles or perplexed as spectators on the sidelines. Almost every state deals with us, small groups or individuals, sabotaging, agitating and roaming restless in the cities. Greece: Text by Nikos Maziotis, Member of Revolutionary Struggle, on the Denial of Exit Permit

Posted on 2021/07/13 - 2021/07/13 by darknights

I am already serving 8.5 years in prison for the activities of the organization Revolutionary Struggle. I have been sentenced for all the attacks of the organization to 137 years in total, of which the new CP stipulates that in 20 years are suspended. According to the «penitentiary» code, even with the latest modifications made by the government last November, when it increased the limits for granting leave to convicts with 10 years or more of sentence – from 1/5 of the sentence as it was before, to 3/10 – I am entitled to be granted a short leave, since instead of the 6 years required for someone with 20 years of sentence, I have served 8.5 years. I should also point out that I have served most of my sentence to the limit of being eligible for parole at 3/5th of it, as stipulated by law for decades. In fact, as I have been informed by the secretariat of the Domokos C.C. where I am detained, in the first months of 2022 I will serve 3/5 of my sentence. That is to say, the 12 years gross of the 20 years of imprisonment which will then include more than 9 years of my stay in prison plus 3 years of working days of beneficial computation in the serving of my sentence.

The granting of short furlough days to prisoners, which has been legislated following prisoner struggles, is essentially a transitional stage in the preparation of prisoners from confinement to release with restrictive conditions due to the suspension of serving the remaining 2/5ths of the sentence.
