Athens, Greece: Responsibility claim for attack on the offices of New Democracy in Koukaki

Posted on 2023/01/04 - 2023/01/04 by darknights

In October 2022, within the framework of the zero tolerance doctrine, the new Penitentiary Code is passed, which among other things makes the granting of leave and the conditional release of prisoners even more difficult and essentially restores the C-type prisons with the “maximum security prisons”. In response to this law, on 28 October, mobilisations by prisoners in prisons throughout the country began. The state, in an attempt to intimidate those who are struggling, reacts vindictively, targeting some of them with threats and bullshit in their cells.

Thus, at dawn on Monday 19/12 the kidnapping of the political prisoner for participation in the organization Anarchist Action, Thanos Chatziaggelou, and his transfer from his cell in Korydallos to the prison of Nigrita Serres. In the same way, on 22/12, the transfer of comrade K. Dimalexis to the prison of Trikala was carried out. On the same night of his abduction, comrade Th. Chatziaggelou starts a hunger and thirst strike demanding the disclosure of the reason for his transfer and his return to Korydallos. The comrade’s health is in a very critical condition and he is in danger of suffering kidney failure or cardiac arrest. In an attempt to discredit his struggle, a verbal prosecution proposal is made to force-feed the striker, a practice that constitutes torture and endangers his health. In solidarity, prisoners G. Michaelides, F. Tziotzis, I. Rodopoulos, L. Vougiouklakis and F. Daskalas go on symbolic or non-symbolic hunger strikes, putting their bodies on the mound.

As a minimal sign of solidarity with comrade Th. Chatziaggelou and the rest of the strikers, we chose on 27/12 to attack by breaking the facade and throwing paint at the offices of the New Democracy party in Koukaki, which as a government applies the doctrine of zero tolerance, at least against those who do not enjoy its favour.

Athens, Greece: Claim of responsibility for the incendiary attacks against the homes of high-profile judges – Direct Action Cells/Sacco and Vanzetti Cell

Posted on 2022/11/13 by darknights

The Greek justice system doesn’t have a problem, it is the problem itself

Direct Action Cells claim responsibility for the following incendiary attacks:

At the home of the judge Panagiota Yioupi, at dawn on Friday October 14, in the Glyfada area.

Youpi is one of the many servile puppets of the gang that operates under the name of Greek justice. She presided in the trial of the child rapist and member of the Mitsotakis family, Dimitris Lignadis, who was released from prison after being found guilty of raping underage children. She is a judge who is part of the influential entourage of the drug-dealing shipping tycoon Vangelis Marinakis, having issued a series of provocative rulings in favor of his interests during her term as a judge in Piraeus.

Yioupi is relentless when confronted with the poor, handing out years of sentences with the same ease she would hand out toys at a children’s party. But she has a peculiarity, she turns into a sensitive and soulful person when confronted by people from high society, with political connections, access and financial clout.

  • At the home of the judge Myrsini Papachiou, at dawn on Saturday, November 5, in the Zografou area.

Papachiou occupies the highest levels of the cesspool known as civil justice. The throne that she sits on as vice president of the Supreme Court is built from the pain of shattered human lives destroyed by prison.

Our decision to target her, apart from her institutional role, is related to the fact that she is currently involved in the Novartis scandal, being a member of the special court that is currently trying state prosecutors and government officials from the former SYRIZA government, as defendants for allegedly orchestrating a conspiracy in this particular case. She is also a court tribunal member for the upcoming trial of a former SYRIZA minister in a case regarding TV licenses. In fact, in order for Papahiou to be a member of these tribunals, she was hastily promoted to the rank of deputy-president a few days before the selection of tribunal members took place. Without any desire to get involved in the shifting alliances and infighting of this rotten political establishment, we recognize that this court is acting as a white-washing machine for sections of the political elite who are involved in the Novartis scandal. An international scandal that demonstrates with surgical precision how capitalism works. Multinationals, big pharma and politicians were complicit in the criminal regulation of drug prices in the health sector. They were complicit in the dismantling of public hospitals, in the operation of an organized international state-economic mafia that exploited in the worst possible way one of the most basic services, that of health. The government’s systematic attempt to present this scandal as a frame-up goes hand in hand with its refusal to demand compensation from the company. Our choice to strike at one of the puppets that are part of the government’s white-washing is intended to highlight all of the above. Athens, Greece: Responsibility claim for attacks on cops on the night of 18/6

Posted on 2022/07/06 - 2022/07/24 by darknights

In the war against the state we taste the most full and beautiful moments of freedom. These are the moments when we defy the power complex around us and the atmosphere, now full of gasoline and smoke, captures our definition of clean air on the street.

There, we always carry with us the prisoners of this war who are physically restrained in the cells of democracy. An integral part of the anti-authoritarian struggle, they are the imprisoned form of our self, as we, inversely, are the unreleased form of theirs.

One such moment was the evening of Saturday 18/6, when we set up a trap and attacked the Delta group, as well as the other repression groups that rushed to the Exarchia area, as a signal of solidarity with our imprisoned comrades. An attack that was accompanied by people present in the neighbourhood, giving for another Saturday the message that Exarchia is a field of resistance and struggle.

As for Bakoyannis and peace-loving citizens, they would be well advised to come to terms with the idea that as long as we exist the only law that will be applied will be the law of physics that calculates the distance travelled by a panicked Deltas running at 80klm/h. Besides, if they want the business community in the area to flourish they might as well open up parts garages left behind by their friends in uniform. Just as if they want redevelopment they can build the new apartment buildings in the area with all the marble and stones eating away at their heads.

Fighting greetings to: Giannis Michailidis, Georgia Voulgaris, Fotis Daskalas, Thanos Chatziangelou, Vangelis Stathopoulos, Iasonas Rodopoulos, Panagiotis Kalaitzis, Haris Mantzouridis, Kostas Sakkas, Dimitris Hadjivasiliadis, Georgos Petrakakakos, Spyros Christodoulou, Savvas Xiros, Dimitris Koufontinas, Pola Roupa, Nikos Maziotis, Dinos Giagtzoglou, Harika Kizilkaya, Hazal Secer, Sadi Naci Ozpolat, Sinan Oktay Ozen, Sinan Cam, Ali Ercan Gokoglu, Burak Agarmis, Halil Demir, Hasan Kaya, Anil Sayar, Ismail Zat

Athens, Greece: Responsibility claim for incendiary attacks on the Secretary General of the Greek Police Officers’ Union and SKAI journalist Aris Portosalte by ‘Direct Action Cells’

Posted on 2022/07/04 - 2022/07/04 by darknights

LET FEAR CHANGE SIDES

The Direct Action Cells undertook the incendiary attacks on the homes of the Secretary General of the Greek Police Officers’ Union Evangelos Mantziorou on June 2 in Peristeri and the SKAI journalist Aris Portosalte on June 14 in Vrilissia. Our attacks were carried out in the context of our strategy expressed through the slogan “Fear must change sides”. For the last 1.5 years we have been trying with all our forces to target people who, from their position, staff the Greek capitalist formation. High-ranking police officers, big journalists, government officials, technocrats who plan government policy, judges, have been targeted. At the same time we have carried out incendiary actions against financial and political targets. Our action is aimed at sending a clear message to these puppet masters. Those who from their position participate in the savage attack that capitalism has unleashed on all aspects of our lives are in the crosshairs of the Direct Action Cells.

Their apologetic statements, the terror with which they jump out of bed when they hear the explosions of the devices we place in their homes, the condemnatory statements of the parties and the media, show that we are on the right track. The encouraging comments from our people, our class people, are our strength to carry on. Through our actions we are trying to keep alive the tradition and practice of direct action. To make it clear that our enemies have names and addresses. To prove that our momentum is greater when we become unpredictable and to call on other militants to follow our example.

The choice of the far-right neoliberal university student and his targeting was not the result of a victimhood and a source of disgust caused by his public presence. Aris Portosalte as a persona encapsulates the most extreme aspects of neoliberal discourse in the country and with his shrill voice he challenges and seduces the sympathetic ears of the neoliberal audience. His daily rants are not the opinion of a journalist, as he and those who deplored the attack on his house want to peddle, but the outgrowth of the political footprint of New Democracy in Greece at the cutting edge of its thought and speech production, the media. Like another harlequin, he has taken a leading role in the forefront of far-right propaganda and is doing the dirty work that the ruling party’s political cadres often avoid. Athens, Greece: Responsibility claim for the attack on the MAT (riot squad) at Ch.Trikoupis

Posted on 2022/05/05 - 2022/05/05 by darknights

RESPONSIBILITY CLAIM FOR THE ATTACK ON THE MAT SQUAD IN CH.TRIKOPI

On Saturday 2/4 we chose to attack the MAT squad in front of the PASOK offices in Charilaou Trikoupis. The attack turned out exactly as we had planned where, with great ease and comfort, we arrived in front of the frightened eyes of the cops who started with quick steps backwards throwing tear gas from a distance, not having the possibility to do more.

The plan had two stages, with the first being to attack the cops at the PASOK offices with 30 Molotov cocktails and the second being to create fires in the surrounding streets simply as a demonstration and reminder of how easily we can be next to you.

While the second part of the plan was being implemented the DELTA/DRASI group made their appearance. Of course from our side there was no concern from their presence as their appearance was part of our planning and those comrades who had the role of attacking them attacked them. The reaction of DELTA/DRASI was to be expected, they stayed pinned to their motorbikes, sent from afar what they could send and did not take a single step to approach us. The mere sight of a few Molotov cocktails and the ready crowd, terrified them and awakened memories of old times. As a consequence of this fear, we were given the comfort of entering the Exarchia neighbourhood with the crowd of people without any problem. We then remained for some time in the surrounding alleys observing their movements for future attacks.

The choice of the Exarcheia neighborhood to carry out the attack was not accidental. The rebellious Exarcheia is a reference point for the antagonistic movement, a neighbourhood of politicisation, fermentation and insurgency. From the anti-dictatorial struggles and clashes of the Polytechnic uprising of ’73, the murder of comrade Michalis Kaltezas* and the Chemistry revolt of ’85**, the murder of the student Alexandros Grigoropoulos and the December 2008 uprising to the defence of our neighbourhood by groups of fascists and parastatals in the ridiculous Macedonia rallies of 18-19, Exarcheia has always been a place of freedom, comradeship and struggle for those who fight to overthrow the rotten reality of the state. Athens, Greece: Attack on cops, in solidarity with Fotis D, Iasona R

Posted on 2022/04/20 - 2022/04/20 by darknights

Six months ago, two of our comrades fell into the hands of the state. On 14/11/2021, an attack on the Piraeus traffic police with the use of Molotov cocktails. A few kilometres away, in the area of Faliro, a blockade was set up by cops who tried to stop a motorbike with our comrades on board which they refused to stop. The immediate reaction of the uniformed cops was to chase the motorbike and a few meters later to ram them with the police car at high speed and risking their physical integrity. Then after the comrades were arrested, they were taken to the GADA (police HQ) where they were held captive without the possibility of contacting a lawyer or family. Early the next morning they entered their homes trying to find some evidence that would show that they were related to the aforementioned attack. Of course, the police thugs only succeeded in their own way to pass the climate of terror to the families of the two comrades and collect useless evidence (empty beer bottles, two computers, a bottle of paraffin oil, a juggling pole and a 1940’s antique gas mask) which were turned into evidence. The following days were followed by a farcical media farce which brought the courtroom before its time. After several days in custody, the two comrades were found to be in custody with an overblown indictment where the prosecutor-investigator’s only concern was to achieve the objective with no room for defence. The indictment given to them is : attempted manslaughter, arson, arson by association, explosion-construction and possession of incendiary and explosive materials , without any evidence to support it and since then they have been detained in the Vlora-Korydallos hellhouses.

The main dispute of the whole case and the sucking of the state and media, was to highlight the application of the new provision of the penal code where now the possession of Molotov cocktails is a felony with the possibility of imprisonment, as it was in this case, with the cronies of this society celebrating. For us, this is not something that seems paradoxical; the Mitsotakis government has shown and stated from the beginning of its mandate that targeting and suppressing the antagonistic movement is one of its primary objectives. One of its main pre-election promises, moreover, was the ‘cleansing’ of the institutions of higher education, as well as the tightening of the penal code. Therefore, we are not falling from the clouds when, in order to show a supposed political consistency in their speech, they send people to prison, let alone anarchists, who always create problems in the world of power.

Our solidarity with every appointed-imprisoned comrade is undivided and uninterrupted. We will always be with the oppressed and those who choose to resist impoverishment by any means and in simple or complex ways. So from our side on Thursday 12/4 we tried to be mentally next to our comrades by closing Patission Street and attacking passing police cars and the squadrons that they approached with stones, fire extinguishers, paints.

For every incarcerated person, hatred grows, COPS FASCISTS MURDERERS

Solidarity and immediate release of Fotis D., Iasona R.

Athens, Greece: Text of two imprisoned comrades Fotis D. and Iasonas R.

Athens, Greece: Text of two imprisoned comrades

Comrades, we are writing to you from the penitentiary hellholes of Korydallos and Avloras, two more detention centres, both of which aim at our physical confinement and remorse of our political conscience. By making our case public, we would like the reason for our detention and evidence of the practices of the EΛ.ΑΣ National Police used against us to come out.

In the early hours of 14 November 2021 we didn’t stop during a check carried out by a DIAS cops bikes team in the area of New Faliro. Immediately a chase was launched against us by a civilian vehicle that did not bear the characteristics of the service. As white people, we did not receive a plethora of bullets, but in the area of Moschato, the car rammed us while we were moving and threw us on the road (with a high risk of being fatally injured). Our arrest was linked to an attack on the Piraeus traffic police earlier that night, which took place more than three kilometers from the checkpoint (the checkpoint was being controlled by fixed units outside the stinking Skye channel). We were taken to the ΓΑΔΑ, (Athens Police HQ) where we refused to give fingerprints, which, as well as genetic material, were ordered to be compulsorily taken a day before we went before an interrogator in an attempt to identify us with the evidence found in the attack and with previous cases. With invalid evidence against us, it was decided to remand us in custody on the pretext of identical clothing, as shown by video footage from the department.

This case is a fiasco and a desperate attempt by the police to win a major victory and legitimize the new criminal code in the eyes of the public. A decisive role in this is played by the state disinformation media, which first ran to prejudge us, using against us evidence with no legal basis – they talked about a yafka house(safe-house), an explosives manufacturing plant and spread false news about the first Molotov cocktail detention in Greece, thus exaggerating the work of the police and the necessity of the changes in the criminal code. The changes to article 272 and how they relate to the changes to 264 and 270 are intended to spread terror in the anarchist/anti-racist movement, to anyone who resists or questions the sovereignty of the state and its partners. As anarchists we are not surprised by this case and how it has developed so far, we do not believe in bourgeois justice and have no illusions about who it serves. Athens, Greece: Responsibility claim for the arson attack at the Town Hall of Kaisariani

Posted on 2022/03/26 - 2022/05/18 by darknights

A young man with 2 saxophones stopped me and told me 5 years ago in Brooklyn, I had to pawn my saxophone and now I’m going to start playing again. When I left the area had surrendered to fire and the flames were snatching away what little the expropriators had left behind. To this question I answer YES, a new concept is emerging, the concept of direct anti-authority.

With historical memory, critical thinking and class consciousness, we cannot but recognise our enemies in the neighbourhoods, parliaments, courtrooms and town halls. Particularly in Kaisariani, which is also a neighbourhood with a tradition of struggles and social resistance, various cabals that have nothing to do with the popular part of the neighbourhood of Kaisariani are appropriating its history in order to camouflage their investment projects, from which the developers and the bosses will be the winners.

Specifically, the plans of Voskopoulos and Theodoricakos are:

  • Zoning that includes 14 dual-capacity spots (28 parking spaces) and accessible electric vehicle recharging points.
  • The historic Harama Center will be restored and become a museum.
  • Theater ,open, 700 seats.
  • Redevelopment of the National Resistance Museum.
  • Construction of climbing walls and Skate Park.
  • Redevelopment of Kaisariani square with cold materials and intelligent lighting.
