It’s war, and Germany is getting ready. Military, political, and economic associations have been gripped by a mania for military preparedness, and everyone is expected to go along with it. “Operation Deustchland” is supposed to make the country fit for war in five years, and camouflage is flourishing everywhere: Rheinmetall, KNDS, and others are snapping up one location after another, the civil clause is crumbling at universities, VW’s management is thinking out loud about getting into the arms business, hospitals and supply structures are being made ready for war, and the Bundeswehr is promoting service to Germany with glossy image campaigns in schools, social media, and billboards. Investment in armaments is becoming a principle of sustainability. Parallel to material and ideological rearmament, there is an authoritarian shift internally, as can be seen in the repression of Palestine solidarity or the anti-militarist movement. The turning point is also in full swing.

Even Friedrich Merz knows that capitalism is in a serious global crisis, and Germany’s “export world champion” model is also suffering as a result: “It was primarily the Americans who secured peace and our freedom, while we concentrated on the economy – and it ran brilliantly. Global markets, cheap intermediate products mainly from China, low-cost energy mainly from Russia, refinement in Germany and then out into the world – that was the German business model. All of that is now being called into question.”

So tough times are ahead, dear citizens. But if German capital wants to continue exploiting the world, making the rich richer and finally producing strong, capable men again, then we have to go through with it. And we have to do it together. This mindset is not one that is only fermenting in the depths of Blackrock’s brains. From all sides, the cry echoes through the republic: Prepare for war if you want to keep your prosperity and freedom. For the struggle for power in the 21st century is far from decided; it is entering a new phase.

The fact that we now have to prepare for World War III here at home brings home the reality of the world. For all the years that we were able to tell ourselves fairy tales of peace and prosperity, cannons were thundering elsewhere. War has been killing for years wherever there is still something to be gained: in Iraq, Yemen, Gaza, destroying societies in Mexico, Kurdistan, Brazil, and raping in Ukraine, Congo, and the Sahara.

But those who bet only on war are incapable of true peace. The fight against war is a fight against capitalism, which needs every crisis to generate new profits, just as it is a fight against patriarchy, which for millennia has drummed into us that there will always be rulers and ruled in this world. There is no place for humanity, community, and dignity in this logic. This will never be our war. It is a war of the rulers, dripping with destructive masculinity, delusions of grandeur, and exploitation. Neither Trump, Putin, Xi Jinping, nor Netanyahu are fighting for human values in this war.

We will not allow ourselves to be distracted by their games. A good life can only be achieved when people across national borders fight for a world that is not up for sale and in which human lives are not cheaply exploited. What we need is a peace movement that fights and lives up to its name. We need a whole flood of initiatives, networks, actions, and resistance to counter the impending conflagration. Our action is part of this, and we welcome everyone who comes together, organizes, resists, and seeks solutions.

Never alone, always together, always international! Yes, war and fascism are already at our doorstep, but together with all our fighting friends around the world, this can be our turning point. Because Lieutenant General Bodemann is right about one thing when he says: “The most important thing is that, in the end, every single citizen will matter in this war.” Mr. Bodemann, we agree on that.

So: Do what really matters!

Russian pro-government media reported that on the evening of March 6, 17-year-old student Nikita P. approached the FSB building on Lubyanka Street in Moscow, splashed a flammable liquid from a plastic bottle on the office door and set fire to the doused door. The guy was detained. During interrogation he admitted that he “committed arson according to the instructions that he had previously received from fraudsters. If everything is really so, the task of such “fraudsters” is obviously to discredit the real guerrilla attacks, which continue despite everything. On 7 March, the car of a military commissariat employee was burnt down in Kazan. A partisan set fire to the car registered to the military commissariat of the Republic of Tatarstan. According to the preliminary version of the law enforcers, it was doused with incendiary mixture by an unknown man. The car burst into flames at around four in the morning near the houses near Rotornaya and Botanicheskaya streets.

Tula

On 8 March in Tula, partisans burned cars belonging to employees of the SPLAV Research and Production Association.

NPO SPLAV is a military industry enterprise, a manufacturer of Grad, Smerch and Uragan multiple rocket launchers.

Tver region

On March 12, the Osvoboditel guerrilla movement announced the destruction of the S-300 air defense system in the Tver region. According to a video shot by the guerrillas, it can be determined that the system’s command center with radar, the cost of which is estimated at 160 million dollars, was damaged. The S-300 complex consists of three main elements: a radar for detecting targets at low altitudes, a control system with illumination and guidance radar, and launchers. We are in a crisis in which the next world war does not seem far away. If this war continues to escalate, it will devastate our planet. While the US has withdrawn from the war of aggression in Ukraine, the “united Europe” stands together and openly discusses a real nuclear deterrent against Russia. Every day, events come thick and fast without us finding an answer that does justice to what is happening in this world.

This is not our war – we want a future.
What war is actually being prepared for here? And who benefits from the war?

The wars and conflicts of this world revolve in a significant proportion around energy distribution struggles, access to resources, economic interests and ultimately power. It is not a struggle for democracy, justice or values, even if this is the narrative of the rulers. The majority of people suffer from these wars, while the rich and powerful line their pockets. Western imperialism is trying to maintain its supremacy, while other imperialist forces such as Russia and China want to claim it for themselves. The capitalist system reacts to the current crisis, as so often in history, with destruction and aggression. And the different warring parties never act according to the interests of the people who are directly affected by them. War is always a war of capitalist powers, in which the people of all countries can only lose. Their suffering is portrayed as an inevitable fate and enmity among each other is fueled with nationalism.

We defend our revolutionary position on the question of war and fight for a friendship of all people and peoples!

What is happening in Germany is not preparation for the defense of possible attacks or the establishment of a so-called defensive capability. To become fit for war means to prepare to wage war. What Pistorius and Merz are preparing German society for, also with regard to a global shift in power and a new strengthening of wars to secure energy reserves, zones of power and sales markets, are wars of aggression in other countries with high German participation. To this end, soldiers are to be sent to schools, the civil clause is to be lifted and the infrastructure and health system are to be prepared for the event of war.

Here in the country, rents are rising, the social system is being undermined more and more and at the same time hundreds of billions of euros are to be made available for armaments. And there is no end in sight: In order to meet the 2 percent of GDP demanded by NATO, the special fund is only a milestone, and the debate about further increases has been going on for a long time.

What is happening here is warmongering. Where is the outcry?
A further intensification of a global war is being prepared here in Germany, so we must sabotage the centers of the warmongers.

Out of a clear mind, seven Bundeswehr vehicles were set on fire in the parking lot of a MAN workshop on the night of March 7, because we only like war equipment on fire.

On 11 January, a 16-year-old teenager was detained in Saratov for preparing the murder of Saratov regional Duma deputy Alexander Yanklovich. According to the investigation, the suspect was going to kill the deputy on the instructions of ‘unidentified persons’. He came with a hammer to the deputy’s house, but did not find him at home. The teenager was allegedly going to ‘continue his actions after receiving information about the man’s whereabouts’, but was detained on 11 January.

Yanklovitch is the head of the Saratov Regional Duma’s Veterans Affairs Committee, a Hero of Russia and a veteran of combat operations in the North Caucasus. He also headed the Saratov regional public organisation Saratov Association of Heroes, which accepted donations for the needs of participants in the Russian invasion of Ukraine. In September 2023, Yanklovitch left to fight in Ukraine as part of the Rosgvardiya, but a year later he cancelled his contract due to age.

A UAZ Patriot military vehicle with Ministry of Defence plates was burnt down in New Moscow on 17 January. The car was burnt in a car park in the settlement of Desyonovskoye. UAZ ‘Patriot’ with military black and white numbers was standing in the car park near the house. At some point the car caught fire. There were no people in the car,’ eyewitnesses wrote.

Kazan

At about 16.00 Moscow time on 23 January an unknown person threw a Molotov cocktail into the foyer of the main entrance of the administrative building of the Kazan Gunpowder Plant (FKP ‘KGKPZ’) at 14 May 1 Street in Kazan, Tatarstan. This started a fire, which was extinguished by employees of the plant. The Interior Ministry said it had not found or identified the arsonist. The CCTV cameras show a lad of about fifteen years old with his face covered.

It is known that between 2023 and 2024 the plant has increased capacity to produce explosives for Russia’s military-industrial complex.

Moscow region

On October 16, a car belonging to Nikita Klenkov, who had returned from the war in Ukraine a week earlier, was shot at point-blank range in the village of Melenki. The military man died.

Klenkov served in the military unit 43292 – this is the Special Operations Forces Training Center. The leaked geolocation data also revealed that Klenkov ordered food deliveries to the GRU headquarters.

The vigilante waited for the colonel at the entrance to the village of Melenki. He opened fire with a 9 millimeter caliber pistol as soon as he saw the officer’s car, managed to fire at least eight shots, and then fled.

Bryansk Region

On October 22, Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) reported the murder of Dmitry Golenkov, a pilot of the 52nd heavy bomber aviation regiment of the Russian Air Force. According to Ukrainian intelligence, he was responsible for missile strikes on a shopping center in Kremenchug and a multi-story apartment building in Dnipro in January 2023, which killed 68 civilians.

Anarchist Alexei Rozhkov is being charged under the article “terrorist act” for the arson of a military enlistment office in Berezovsky in March 2022, as well as for “justifying terrorism” and “spreading fakes” about the Russian army due to an interview he gave to “Khodorkovsky Live” while in Kyrgyzstan. At the end of May 2023, Rozhkov was illegally transported out of Kyrgyzstan, where he had previously fled, fearing the intensification of the charges. In total, Alexey could face up to 22.5 years of imprisonment.

At one of the court hearings, Lyudmila Reutova, a Russian language and literature teacher and the mother of Alexei’s classmate with whom he had previously lived for six months, testified. The brave woman did not hesitate to say that she knows Alexei as an intelligent, creative, and well-read young man, and also emphasized that he is an empathetic and kind person.

There is much to say about Alexei, but only good things <…> It pains me greatly to see Alexei in the dock. I consider Alexey my son. I am proud that fate brought me together with such a person. He is probably one of the best people I have ever met in my life.” Reutova does not consider Alexei to be a terrorist; she calls him a patriot: “Terrorism is when a plane flies into the Twin Towers and hundreds, thousands of people die. Terrorism is when people come to a concert, and they get shot in the chest. Terrorism is when a mother, with a child in her arms, brought her second child to the first grade, and everyone dies. But Alexey is not a terrorist. Alexei is not an enemy of our country. Alexei is not an enemy of our people <…> Patriotism is not just love for your land, not just for the territory where you live, for the place where you were born, it is love for your people. It is the readiness to sacrifice oneself, to give one’s life for the betterment of the people, for the freedom of the people. And in this regard, I believe that Alexei… he can be called a patriot.

The next court hearing in Alexei’s case is scheduled for November 20.

An 18-year-old antifascist, Yuri Mikheev, faces up to 10 years in prison. A year ago, on November 11, 2023, he and a friend were detained on the territory of a military unit in the Moscow region. The FSB accused the young men of planning to set military equipment on fire. The young men were charged under articles on “preparation for sabotage.” On October 9, the Meshchansky District Court of Moscow extended the detention of Yury Mikheyev and 20-year-old brothers Matvey and Timofey Melnikov in a pre-trial detention center for 1 month. The Rheinmetall plant in Unterlüß is only a stone’s throw away. This is where thousands of forced laborers who worked for the German war economy at the Rheinmetall-Borsig Rheinmetall-Borsig plant for the German war economy. Following the takeover of the Spanish ammunition company Expal, Rheinmetall sees itself as the the world’s largest manufacturer of artillery ammunition. The groundbreaking ceremony for a for a new production facility in Unterlüß was attended by Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz, the Ukrainian ambassador and Defense Minister Boris Pistorius (“Germany must become fit for war”). The new factory is expected to 200,000 shells a year.

Papperger is one of the arms managers with a particularly high media presence. The days when the armaments industry suffered from its image are over. In March 2024, Vice Chancellor Robert Habeck assured at a meeting of the 20 most important German arms manufacturers: “We need this industry!” Self-confident and offensively, killing machines can now be presented and advertised. And Rheinmetall has other things to offer besides ammunition, of course tanks in particular: the Lynx and Puma infantry fighting vehicles, the Boxer wheeled tank and the Skyranger anti-aircraft tank. For the Leopard Rheinmetall produces the gun barrel. Rheinmetall also stockpiles various old tank types, which have now been sold to Ukraine, complete with ammunition at a hefty profit. But parts production for the US F35 fighter jet is also on offer.

Rheinmetall plans, produces and murders not only on a national framework. The Group employs over 30,000 workers worldwide in 28 countries. A new ammunition production facility is planned in Ukraine and a maintenance plant for tanks is also due to open there in summer 2024. In addition, the production of infantry fighting battle tanks is also planned. There are also plans for an artillery factory and Rheinmetall is developing a completely new type of battle tank. In the USA, Rheinmetall is participating in tenders and is close to winning a 45 billion dollar contract for the successor to the Bradley infantry fighting vehicle. The development of the Russian market is now off the table for the time being. But as recently as 2011, Rheinmetall concluded a contract with the Russian government for the delivery of a training center for the Russian army and saw itself in the role of a pioneer and door opener.

However, the so-called turnaround does not only mean gigantic rearmament armament and new record profits for the arms industry. It also means a reorientation of the entire society towards war. Russia: The anarchist Ruslan Siddiqui is charged with railway sabotage and attacking a military airfield

At the end of November, the anarchist Ruslan Siddiqui was arrested on suspicion of organising the derailment of a goods train in Ryazan province. On 2 December, the Dorogomilovsky district court in Moscow sent Ruslan to pre-trial detention.

Acts of railway sabotage are now quite common in Russia. Partisans use these to block the delivery of military supplies to the armed forces operating on Ukrainian territory.

The derailment occurred on 11 November, 190 kilometres out from the Moscow terminal. Kommersant newspaper reported the details as follows: “Due to the detonation of improvised explosive devices (two bombs, each equivalent to 3kg of TNT, were placed 10 metres from each other on a bypass used by goods trains), a 300 metre stretch of track was damaged. A crater opened up, and the first 19 carriages of goods train no. 2018 fell into a ditch. The explosion broke the window of the train driver’s cabin, and the driver sustained non-serious injuries”.

The security services have also stated that Ruslan Siddiqui was involved in an attack on the military airport in Ryazan on 20 July. Four quadrocopters, loaded with explosives, were flown on to the Dyagilevo base.

Ruslan has now been charged with a “terrorist act” (Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, parts 2.a and 2.v) and “possession of explosive material” (Article 222.1, part 3.a). He is threatened with between 12 and 30 years’ imprisonment.

Ruslan’s comrades have contacted the anti-war human rights initiative “Solidarity Zone“. This is how they described him:

He grasps the essence of any situation quickly and works out how to respond. As a friend he is always responsive, always ready to help. He has travelled many times to the Chernobyl and Belarussian Exclusion Zones [established after the nuclear explosion in 1986, now uninhabited, richly forested areas].

Ruslan is a proponent of anarchist ideas, and the Russian military aggression against Ukraine distressed him greatly. All the more so because some of his friends and comrades died in that conflict, and people continue to die there. And now he himself has become a victim of state violence, and our support is important to him”.

Mezzovico, Switzerland: ‘Swiss neutrality does not exist.’ Incendiary attack on ten civil defense vehicles and three army vehicles (June 18, 2023)

Swiss neutrality does not exist

Switzerland, which regards itself as neutral so it can maintain its privileged role as the world’s financial hub, actually bears a lot of responsibility for many wars around the world. The Swiss arms industry exports weapons everywhere, even to countries where there are armed conflicts. Lately it has even relocated some manufacturing facilities abroad so as to circumvent laws that would “ban” arms exports to countries at war, for example to Ukraine, aligning itself fully with NATO’s warmongering interventionist rhetoric.

Switzerland’s role as a financial marketplace and leading commodity trader makes this state a major player in the devastation of the planet and the plundering of the resources of countries in the global south, fueling conflicts and forcing people to leave their countries of origin. Not content with sowing misery all over the world, it prides itself with “defending” its borders against the migration “threat,” with its military guarding the borders and civil defense soldiers running deportation centers.

Campaigns against compulsory conscription in Switzerland have been pacified by the introduction of civil protection and civil service. We believe that anarchist antimilitarism should not be limited to the rejection of the military or even to total desertion from every obligation this state imposes on us but should turn into attack.

For this reason, in the night from the 17th to the 18th June, in Mezzovico, Ticino, we have set fire to ten vehicles of the civil protection, which were totally destroyed and three military vehicles, which regrettably only partially burned.

We state with strength of our ideas and actions our solidarity with all anarchists taken hostage by the state and take this opportunity to greet those on the hidden paths of freedom. Those who struggle will never be alone.

Swiss neutrality does not exist. Where there is capitalism, there is war.
