$hile: Interview with anarchist prisoner Francisco Solar

Posted on 2026/03/09 by darknights

In this fourth interview, we engaged in a dialogue with our anarchist comrade Francisco Solar, acting as a bridge to spread his words and delve deeper into various topics and contexts of interest. His perspective and participation in grassroots projects are vitally important, as they break with the inaction that prison seeks to impose. Throughout this conversation, we address not only aspects related to his personal experience in prison, but also broader political reflections on the ongoing struggles and challenges facing anarchist circles.

1.- How are you doing now? Could you tell us a little about your experience in La Gonzalina prison? What differences do you see between the prison systems in Europe and Chile?

Almost a year ago, I left the maximum security wing where I had spent almost five years and moved to a high security wing with a normal regime, which basically means eight hours of yard time and the possibility of conjugal visits.

Based on the above, my situation is clearly more favorable, as I am not subject to the restrictions of a maximum security regime. However, sharing my daily life with fellow anarchists and subversives who were already in this unit makes prison life much more bearable. Escaping at times from the harmful authoritarian dynamics that exist among prisoners and trying to practice relationships that are contrary to these is a constant challenge and struggle that involves constant questioning. It is clear that we are not an island within this unit; we deal with contradictions and obviously sometimes reproduce behaviors that we say we reject. However, our dynamics, those of the anarchist and subversive prisoners, are different from those of the rest of the prisoners. Our relationships are not based on the stark authoritarianism of the other prisoners, and that is evident.

My daily routine consists of playing sports in the yard, talking and walking with my compañeros, and reading. As I have pointed out in other writings, it is important to have a daily routine, which, at least in my case, allows me to maintain a certain mental clarity and avoid falling into prison despair.

The differences between the Chilean prison system and that of Spain lie mainly in control. The Spanish prison system has managed to discipline life inside prisons through constant and prolonged adjustments to its control strategies. Through the FIES (Ficheros de Internos de Especial Seguimiento, Special Investigation and Security Unit) and dispersion, the Prison Service has pacified Spanish prisons, even managing to turn prisoners into their own jailers, as can be seen in the increasingly numerous “respect modules.”

Although the Chilean prison system is moving towards exercising control in the “Spanish” (or European) manner, the truth is that it is still a long way from achieving this. The control mechanisms are much more precarious and ineffective, which leads, among other things, to the establishment of certain “rules” imposed by the prisoners themselves within prison life. These rules are based on extreme authoritarianism that produces and reproduces relationships of outright slavery among the prisoners themselves. If solidarity was once present in these dynamics, today such relationships have been virtually relegated to make way for ostentation and the aforementioned authoritarianism that makes prison life a hostile environment. $hile: Subversive compañero Tomás González escapes from the ex penitentiary

On February 25, 2026, former subversive prisoner Tomás González, along with another prisoner, escaped from the ex penitentiary dressed as a prison guard.
Comrade Tomás was sentenced to more than 21 years in prison (16 years for shooting at police officers to avoid arrest in May 2022) and 5 years (pending for carrying a Molotov cocktail) for the murder of police officer José Luis Rodríguez. Comrade Tomás was sentenced to more than 21 years in prison (16 years for shooting at police officers to avoid arrest in May 2022) and 5 years (pending for carrying a Molotov cocktail).

In the face of the repressive measures that are beginning to be imposed inside and outside, the call is not to provide any information useful to the repression. No collaboration is acceptable! No photos of our comrade, no information about his surroundings or connections given to the police!

Long escape and life to the comrades on the run and in hiding. All our strength and solidarity to those who still resist in prison.

“I cherish every moment in which I can,
together with my comrades, learn from the experiences that different generations have
passed down since ancient times, based on solidarity and humility.
Nothing is over, because the task continues to contribute in a concrete way.
Those who live fighting walk, opening paths wherever and however they can.
Autonomous and illegal, that is our horizon.”
– Tomas González Quezada

Chile: Some repercussions following the escape of subversive prisoner Tomas González from the ex Penitentiary

At noon on February 25, 2026, former subversive prisoner Tomás González and another inmate managed to escape from the former penitentiary dressed as prison guards. Tomás was serving a 21-year prison sentence for throwing Molotov cocktails and resisting arrest with gunfire.

Once the news broke and a media storm erupted, the prison service decided to remove the Regional Director and the senior staff of the former penitentiary: the Warden, the Chief of Operations, and the Chief of Internal Affairs. Loud statements from ministers and members of the government were broadcast on television during the first few days, along with a photograph of the fugitive.

The investigation was carried out by the Western District Attorney’s Office and the Investigative Police, who on March 2 conducted a series of raids in Maipú, La Granja, and the Pablo Vergara Toledo Community Space in Villa Francia.

Achieve and defend “freedom” by any means necessary!

Run, compa, run!

Opening Arguments and Testimony from Alvarado Officer at Center of Prairieland Case Marks First Day of Landmark Trial Against Nine Defendants (USA)

Testimony of Lt. Thomas Gross Undermined Government Arguments that the Noise Protest on July 4, 2025 Was an “Ambush” and “Planned Attack”
FORT WORTH, TX – Opening arguments and testimony from the Alvarado police officer at the center of the controversial Prairieland ICE Detention Center case marked the first day of trial yesterday against nine defendants. The federal government offered no new or compelling arguments in their opening statement and relied heavily on First Amendment-protected activity to make their case. However, during cross-examination, Alvarado police officer Lt. Thomas Gross revealed information that undermines the government’s narrative that the noise demonstration on July 4, 2025 was an “ambush” and that police were the targets of a “planned attack.”

During today’s proceedings, the defense team was able to cross-examine Lt. Gross, who was injured at the scene. This is the first time Gross has spoken publicly since the incident. He described a hectic scene with few details, claiming to see only a small handful of male individuals, despite multiple women defendants in the case.

On cross-examination, Lt. Gross said he spent between 2-4 hours in the hospital before being released, and could not explain why he appears to have been shot from the back despite also claiming to have been facing the person who the government alleges fired at him. Gross could not say who drew their weapon first, but he admitted drawing his weapon without any obvious threat. Gross stated that when he arrived on the scene, there was no alleged criminal activity being committed more serious than “criminal mischief.” In response to questions from defense attorney Phillip Hayes, Gross admitted that he was pointing his firearm at a fleeing person’s back, before encountering the individual holding a rifle. This testimony seemed to contradict the government’s claim that the police were ambushed.

Feb 24, 2026
Yogyakarta Regional Police were visited by students and residents of Yogyakarta. The crowd are demanding the release of ALL remaining detainees from the August 2025 uprising.

Hundreds of students and residents held a protest in front of the Yogyakarta Regional Police Headquarters on Tuesday (February 24th). The demonstration was sparked by anger over the death of a 14-year-old student in Maluku, assaulted by members of the Mobile Brigade Corps (Brimob).

The protesters marched from UPN to the Regional Police Headquarters without any written demands or a stage. The protest was described as spontaneous and an expression of disappointed anger.

Observations on the ground revealed that the fence on the east side of the Regional Police Headquarters had collapsed. Officers stood guard behind barbed wire to prevent the crowd from entering the police station area. Several police were injured. The people set fires at the police compound, launched fireworks and clashed with police and denounced the police-terror and the Prabowo regime.

Revenge for the prisoners, the tortured, the killed and the disappeared.

Destroy all states – Destroy all police and jailers.

Concerns Grow Over Whether the Prairieland Defendants Can Receive a Fair Trial, Based on Severe Trial Restrictions, Prejudicial Statements at Highest Levels of Government—Press Conference Monday at 8am
FORT WORTH, TX – Nine defendants will proceed to federal trial on Monday in a widely watched case that stems from a July 4, 2025 noise demonstration in support of detained immigrants at the Prairieland ICE Detention Center in Alvarado, Texas. The trial is expected to last at least three weeks. Defendants Savanna Batten, Zachary Evetts, Autumn Hill, Meagan Morris, Maricela Rueda, Daniel “Des” Rolando Sanchez Estrada, Benjamin “Champagne” Song, Elizabeth Soto, and Ines Soto were indicted in November on a variety of charges including riot, discharging a firearm, attempted murder, material support for terrorism, and conspiracy to conceal documents.

Rome, Italy: Claim of responsibility for sabotaging the railway line against the Milan-Cortina 2026 Olympics

Claim of responsibility for sabotaging the railway line against the Milan-Cortina 2026 Olympics (Rome, 13 February 2026)

Rome – Claim of responsibility for sabotaging the railway line against the Milan-Cortina 2026 Olympics

Fire to the Olympics! No travelling today!

On the night of the 13th February, at various points and railway junctions, we set fire to and damaged the cables along the tracks, effectively blocking several high-speed lines.
These actions are our contribution to the warm welcome and best wishes for this edition of the Winter Olympic Games.

We participated in massive road and port blockades during the months of mobilisation for Palestine, we invaded stations and attacked the police whenever possible. But today we chose to act under the cover of moonlight, in a small group united by affinity and the desire to live up to the slogans shouted in recent months: let’s block everything!
Because we believe that, in addition to participating in large mobilisations and the conflict they can generate, it is necessary to spread autonomous action, so as not to let them be defused, recuperated and directed by the professionals of “militant” politics.

The powers that be are preparing for war, and we anarchists, revolutionaries and conscious individuals would like to do the same. The railway infrastructure is a key hub for the movement of military forces and materials, and the agreement between RFI and Leonardo, aimed at implementing military logistics on the peninsula, is the clearest example of this. Attacking RFI is therefore a concrete act of anti-militarism and a gesture of solidarity with all those who today suffer the atrocities of war and colonialism.

The Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics are no exception: rivers of money fueling construction speculation, happy to arm rivers of concrete to build disposable facilities and change the social “intended use” of entire working-class neighbourhoods. A big business that, behind the glossy and prestigious image of the major sporting event, hides hectares of larch forests razed to the ground to make way for ski slopes and mountains irreversibly disfigured by the associated ski lifts.

Finally, this action expresses our anger at the presence at the Games of ICE agents, the anti-immigrant squads now sadly notorious for murders, round-ups, abuse and violence perpetrated against undesirables and internal opponents in the United States, which reminds us that every police force and every fascist group is there to be used against its own population when “reasons of state” require it.

Only a few ingredients are needed to take action against the world of exploitation, oppression and devastation: a little study, caution and determination in equal measure, a few accomplices, a few litres of fuel… and anything is possible! Good luck!

Some contributions from inside and outside prisons for the initiatives
“Sabotage war and repression” on February 7 and 8 in Viterbo

On February 7, about 150 people took to the streets in Viterbo for a radical demonstration that showed how it is possible and necessary to link the issues of war and repression: with the resistance of the Palestinian people, against defeatism in Ukraine, against repression as an expression of war policies on the home front, against 41 bis as a war prison, and in solidarity with Alfredo Cospito. These issues were explored in greater depth the following day, again in the city of Viterbo, at a very rich militant conference. Here is the text announcing the two initiatives:
https://ilrovescio.info/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Sabotiamo-la-guerra-e-la-repressione-corretto-al-23.12.pdf

While waiting to publish further material as it becomes available, we are circulating letters from Anna and Juan from the prisons where they are being held as contributions to the conference on February 8. We are also publishing a greeting from Ireland, as partial testimony to the internationalist nature of the days of struggle and discussion on February 7 and 8.

Contribution by Anna Beniamino from section AS2 of the Rebibbia women’s prison (Rome) for the conference held on February 8 in Viterbo.

First of all, thank you for asking me to contribute to the conference on War and Repression. I will try, starting from the perspective that is, despite myself, clearer here: repression and the ‘local’ repercussions, in prisons, of global policies of war, economic austerity, and the militarization of society.
I am aware that there are no theoretical recipes or detailed, definitive analyses, but only a simple and solid certainty that any real, non-virtual struggle implies reaction and repression.
The problem is ‘only’ to take this into account, to be ready and not to be paralyzed by fear of it, to build solidarity and awareness of one’s own means and ends, with continuity and tenacity. Especially in these times when preventive repressive work is spreading across multiple levels, both covert and overt.
Starting in 2022, when Alfredo was transferred to 41 bis, I wrote several times about differentiated circuits and regimes as well as, long before that, inside and outside prison, about struggles and repression, in ordinary and “extraordinary” terms; I refer back to all this and to my latest notes for the Roman assembly against 41 bis.
Essentially, I believe that the discussion should be resumed… because it is never over, nor have the ethical assumptions that supported it fallen away, so as not to leave a well-established discussion unfinished, not to leave a comrade alone, not to waste an opportunity in which a single battle has shown how we can be together, “irredeemable” and positively recognizable outside the narrow area of the anarchist movement in its content, so as not to leave alone the comrades who are now facing the various trials connected with the mobilization, because credibility is also built on continuity and consistency, because the mask has been removed from one of the pillars of bipartisan rhetoric on “mafia and terrorism,” because the “fight against terrorism” is now a global smokescreen and the current context of militarized capitalism and blatant neocolonialism in the procurement of resources and the opening of trade routes lends itself well to the reception of an anti-authoritarian, anti-militarist message of solidarity among the oppressed. Repression in Yogyakarta (Indonesia)

Posted on 2026/02/18 by darknights

https://www.gofundme.com/f/PATM-housing-support

Hi, my name is Joe Hill and I’m raising money to help my good friends and comrades in Java, who have been forced from their homes due to their decolonial political and community work – publishing anarchist literature, running anti domestic violence workshops and supporting farmers in land rights struggles.

From PATM Indonesia:

In December 2025, an anarchist organizer and publisher based in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, was subjected to intimidation, surveillance, and forced displacement following a series of false accusations spread by involving Indonesian police and immigrationnt authorities. The publisher, PATM (Page Against the Machine), is an independent publisher dedicated to translating Indonesian anarchist and decolonial texts into English for a wider global audience. The latest release, Anarchy in Alifuru: The History of Stateless Societies in the Maluku Islands (written by Bima Satria Putra), was published in the UK on August 2025 by Minor Compositions. Another 3 titles are currently in process, the success of which depends on stability of work and home.

The incident began when a visiting foreign friend, legally present in Indonesia, briefly documented a public mural event commemorating International Human Rights Day. Although the event was not a demonstration—therefore he was having no involvement in any protest—and no laws were violated, he was accused of participating in a “demonstration” and labeled as part of an “international anarchist network.” His passport was confiscated, and both he and his host were subjected to prolonged interrogations by immigration authorities. No allegations were substantiated, and the passport was eventually returned after a couple of days. Continue reading “Repression in Yogyakarta (Indonesia)” →

Rapper DSAVV Flees Custody at Lewisham Hospital

Daniel Boakye, aka rapper DSAVV, pulled off a daring escape from custody at University Hospital Lewisham around 3pm on Sunday, February 15. Officers chased him but failed to catch him before he vanished from the building.

Boakye wasn’t new to fleeing the law. He had already absconded days earlier and was arrested again at a Thamesmead address last week—only to slip away once more on Sunday. Continue reading “London, UK: Drill Rapper DSavv Escapes From Prison… Again” →
