URGENT: Occupation at ADEDY (Civil Servants’ Confederation) in solidarity with the hunger striker G. Michailidis

A few hours ago we occupied the ADEDY building at 2 Psyllas Street in Syntagma, in solidarity with comrade G. Michailidis who is on hunger strike since 23/5. The occupation will continue until the publication of the council’s decision.

We warn the judicial authorities and make it clear that the delay of the decision or the possibility of a rejection of the decision by the Lamia council is tantamount to state murder of the anarchist comrade Giannis Michailidis. We therefore emphatically emphasise the weight of responsibility that weighs on this decision and the timing of the decision.

On Monday 25 July, after 64 days of a hunger strike, the court of appeal in Lamia held a hearing for his release. Although there was a commitment on the part of the council to make the decision in time, we understand that the timeframe for respecting the hunger striker has passed. Indeed, they have been elapsed since the Amfissa council delayed a month in issuing its decision. Patras, Greece: Responsibility claim for arson actions in solidarity with the anarchist hunger striker Giannis Michailidis

We take political responsibility for a series of arson attacks that took place in the city of Patras, in solidarity with our comrade anarchist and hunger striker Giannis Michailidis.

On Saturday morning (23/7), at 3:30 am, we carried out an arson attack on a motorbike of a well-known asphalt worker of the city, on Korinthou Street.
On Sunday morning (24/7), at 2:30 a.m., we carried out an arson attack on a Eurobank ATM in El. Stratiotou.

The comrade anarchist and hunger striker Giannis Michailidis has been fighting a tough battle with the capitalist system and its representatives for the last two months, demanding his immediate release from prison, which he is entitled to by law from December 2021. Having completed 8.5 years of imprisonment in the penitentiary hellholes of the Greek state, for his subversive action and his militant dignity, he puts his own body as a barrier against a judicial system of arbitrariness and vindictiveness. With indomitable stubbornness and self-denial, he takes on an entire mechanism of exploitation and oppression, demanding that his demand be met.

It is a given, however, that in this class structured society where the Law and the Order of the Powerful reign supreme, that no other treatment could be given to a militant, who over the years has stood by the side of the outcasts of this world through his words and actions. It is a given that he could not receive the same treatment from our oppressors as the child rapist Lignadis, the unrepentant murderous cop Korkoneas, the real estate magnate Hortaria and every well-bred child of the bourgeois system.

The bourgeois justice as a basic pillar of the capitalist system of production, reflects in a provocative and overt way, that it will be omnipresent, to safeguard the interests of the bourgeoisie, to perpetuate the capitalist relations of exploitation and the disciplining of those who belong to the bottom of the social-class pyramid. Its blatant class bias is therefore not some kind of deviation from its institutional role but its very essence.

Our comrade Giannis Michailidis, who is at the breaking point of his multi-day strike, needs the solidarity and support of the entire subversive movement. Against the callousness of the judicial mafia, the methodologies and the attempted vindictiveness of the state and capital, the world of struggle has the duty to stand up to the circumstances and raise the gauntlet, intercepting the orchestrated climate of terrorism with massive and dynamic marches, solidarity movements, aggressive actions and sabotage.

Athens, Greece: Attack upon the offices of University Research Institute of Communication and Computer Systems (EPISY) for their involvement in assisting the investigation of cops and the army (National Technical Univeristy of Athens)

In recent times, we have seen the campus of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki turned into a release field for the murderous mania of the cops. Similar incidents of violence will become a daily occurrence in whichever campuses the university police are installed, which in order to get a foothold in the sanctuary will come accompanied by all the forces of the Greek police. This wave of repressive violence is intended to crush any possible resistance to the educational restructuring that has already been passed, namely the exclusion of the social base from higher education, disciplinary measures and the expulsion of students, cameras and controlled entry to schools, the alignment of curricula and research with the interests of capital.

In the wake of this restructuring we see more and more collaborations between Greek universities and military and police services, for whose needs research projects are carried out in the laboratories of the schools. These research projects, which concern border surveillance and the monitoring and suppression of militants, are funded by the EU and NATO to the tune of millions of euros.

In conclusion, within the framework of the European Defense Industrial Development Program, the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the University of Patras in cooperation with the Hellenic Air Force and the Ministry of National Defense conducted the research project <<Project Lottus>> for the design of a drone for the protection of land and sea borders. As a continuation of this project, the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, the Democritus University of Thrace and the University of Thessalias in cooperation with the Hellenic Aircraft Industry will carry out the industrial production of such a drone, which will be made available to Frontex and the coast guard, among others, the agencies responsible for thousands of murders and expulsions of migrants in the middle of the Aegean Sea. Similar research projects have been undertaken by the NTUA, under the EU-funded Horizon 2020 programme. From Jason and Poseidon to Andromeda and Ingenius, the NTUA has been involved time and again with the logistical upgrade of the border guard and the army. Another project that the NTUA has undertaken is Prevision, which promises to be a state-of-the-art tool in the hands of state security. Exarcheia, Athens, Greece: Responsibility claim for the 28/5 clashes as a sign of solidarity with the hunger striker G. Michailidis

On Saturday 28/5 we chose to enliven the neighbourhood of Exarcheia a little more.

It was clear in our minds to give the state a clear message about how things will be from now on if the struggle of the anarchist G. Michailidis was not vindicated.

The comrade has been incarcerated since 2013 in the Greek prisons and already since 29/12/2021 he fulfils all the formal requirements for his conditional release. However, the judges of the Amfissa Magistrate’s Court rejected his application.

He decided on 23/05/2022 to start a hunger strike, forced by the obscene tactics of the state to hold him hostage on the sole basis of his political identity and the dignity with which he supports it.

The target of our attack was the much-publicised DRASI Group. One of the two main pillars of repression of society along with the riot police.

Our attack caught them completely off guard, not having the practical ability to approach us they were limited to picking up their fallen colleagues and throwing flash bangs. At our tactical retreat the DRASI felt they had the ability to fight back.

Then something happened that made us even happier. Along with us, a large crowd of people got up from the shops and benches, left for a while the classic hanging out in Messolonghio and joined us in the conflict. The aftermath was beautiful, the garbage of the DRASI Team running chased through the alleys of the Exarcheia.

Against the violence of the state we will always stand ready and willing to return a piece of it to them.

We will always respond to plots and terrorism with solidarity and comradeship.

Comrade Giannis Michailidis, after 11 years of suffering arrest warrants and fabricated files due to solidarity relations, multiple detentions, torture, convictions for “individual terrorism”, arbitrary deprivation of regular and educational leave, has been in preventive detention for 5 months. Against this latest method, the comrade started a hunger strike on 23/5, raising a barricade against the practice of preventive imprisonment, starting a struggle that, apart from his release, is directly aimed against the regime of exemption of combative prisoners, highlighting the necessity of the overall struggle against power.

In the midst of the presented supremacy of the state and the attack that it has unleashed against the neighborhood of Exarchia, we decided to send a signal of minimal solidarity to comrade Giannis Michailidis, by attacking the riot squad in Ch.Trikoupis street.
