Un «noble y buen» agente en EE.UU. de 1919 investiga los ataques con bombas a distintos personajes del poder, y desde ahí comienza a conocer distintas perspectivas que — oh no hermanx, no quiero seguir describiendo esta porquería. Inspirado en hechos reales (salen muchas figuras famosillas anárquicas de la época), es un intento del espectáculo para blanquear ciertos aspectos anárquicos y condenar otros. Mejor ven y averigua el resto por tí mismx 💣🔥

En el aniversario n° 99 desde la ejecución de los compañeros Nicola Sacco y Bartomoleo Vanzetti, hemos decidido proyectar esta mierda de película para enfatizar que la memoria es un músculo que se ejercita disputando los intentos de apropiación del poder. ¡Ven a pasar rabia con nosotrxs en el inicio de la Semana Internacional en Solidaridad con lxs Presxs Anarquistas!

En medio del álgido agosto negro que estamos atravesando, les invitamos a una nueva versión de nuestros círculos de lectura, en donde, de forma colectiva, discutimos y tensionamos en torno a escritos que consideramos relevantes según nuestro sentir y actuar.

De esta manera es que decidimos para esta ocasión tomar El placer armado, un texto escrito en 1977, un tiempo convulsionado con una serie de expresiones revolucionarias y antagónicas al poder, que, si bien forman parte de una época ya pasada, su espíritu y fuerza se encuentran más vigentes que nunca.

La corta, ágil y contundente lectura de esta obra permiten reflexionar sobre los elementos de cambios y continuidad en cuanto a nuestras prácticas y la necesidad de propuestas horizontales en torno a la forma en como afrontar la realidad presente en la que estamos insertxs.

The Valley that resists – a beautiful view of the No TAV movement in Italy – Sunday 23rd August 6-9pm (Bristol, UK)

Talk and solidarity dinner

On the weekend of the 24th-26th July, 2 Bristol comrades got a very impressive glimpse of what a long lasting and combative mass movement looks like. We were visiting comrades in Torino and the Val di Susa in northern Italy, home to a 3 decades long struggle against the hugely destructive Treno di Alta Velocita (TAV) capitalist mega project. The No TAV movement is a genuinely grassroots, mass movement involving tens of thousands of people, with a proud history of direct action and diversity of tactics. We could learn a lot from their struggle.

We will give a short presentation with holidarity photos and footage from recent events and actions.

There will be pizza, pasta and gelato to raise funds for No TAV defendants and prisoners.

Suggested PWYC donation of £5-£10.

Llamamiento de solidaridad con motivo del centenario de la muerte de Kaneko Fumiko

Desde la Biblioteca Anarquista, situada en la lejana ciudad de Kamakura, Japón, enviamos un saludo de solidaridad a las y los compañeros de Chile
reunidos para recordar a Kaneko Fumiko.

A comienzos de la década de 1920, Kaneko Fumiko desarrolló su actividad como anarquista en Tokio. Llegó a la convicción de que una sociedad sin el emperador de Japón ni su familia imperial era la condición necesaria para construir una sociedad basada en la igualdad y el apoyo mutuo.

Esa idea era intolerable para los gobernantes del Imperio japonés. Fue condenada a muerte por el delito de alta traición, una ley que castigaba incluso el hecho de concebir la desaparición del emperador.
Posteriormente, por decisión de las autoridades, la sentencia fue conmutada por cadena perpetua. Sin embargo, cuatro meses después puso fin a su vida en una celda de aislamiento.

En aquella época, el Imperio japonés había colonizado Corea y ejercía una violenta represión contra la población coreana para impedir el movimiento por la independencia. Antes de ser arrestada, Kaneko Fumiko había iniciado su militancia anarquista junto a Pak Yol (Park Yeol), nacido en Corea, con quien compartió su vida y su lucha.

This is the rough transcript of Toby‘s talk at the solidarity event for anarchist prisoners on August 31st, 2025, at BASE social centre in Easton, Bristol, UK.

Hi everyone

Welcome to BASE social centre, I’m Toby Shone, I’m an anarchist ex-prisoner from the Forest of Dean. I was in the Operation Adream case, which was a co-ordinated international police operation which involved British, Dutch and German police, at least, we could say. I spent three years in various prisons in UK, mostly under 23 hour lockdown in conditions of solitary confinement. I also had 9 months in a secure bail hostel under anti-terrorist restrictions, and 3 months of bail conditions where I had to sign every day at a police station in the Forest.

I want to thank BASE for giving me this opportunity to talk. I’m not going to talk at length. And I want to properly thank all the comrades in Bristol who supported me during my imprisonment. The last time I was here for the International Week of Solidarity event, which was in 2023, I was out on license. As you probably know, the Counter-Terror Police South West had a surveillance team outside, and this event was a major reason cited by the National Security Division for my subsequent abduction back to prison. I have the surveillance report here from the police, so you can see the material on BASE, see the angle where the police took the surveillance photograph from, and see how the Counter-Terror Police South-West regard us. Charla a cargo de Jesús Sengere y José Solís, nos contarán sus experiencias vividas en el proceso del motín del año 2004.
Jesús Sengere conocido por su declaración durante el juicio del motín de Quatre Camins, a preguntas del fiscal: “¿A cuántos funcionarios usted agredió?” Jesús respondió: “Pues le pegué a todo lo que se movía. Con 25 años de cárcel en régimen FIES 1 CD, a pulso sin salir. Jesús junto a Solís contarán sus experiencias vividas en el proceso del motín del 2004 en la prisión de Quatre Camins, juicio contra lxs carcelerxs y el subdirector médico condenados por torturas.

Charla a cargo de Honorio Gómez Alfaro, conocido como Pope, estuvo preso en las cárceles españolas durante 25 años. Resiliente al abandono sanitario tras los muros. Compartirá palabras de compromiso y resistencia dando voz a los presos para que no sufran la misma situación.

The International Week of Solidarity with Anarchist Prisoners[1] takes place every year between 23-30 August to commemorate the murders of the Haymarket martyrs in Chicago, 1886, who died for freedom, labour rights and dignity.

This year at BASE we’re holding a fund-raising dinner and letter writing event along with a talk by ex-prisoner Toby Shone, who will speak about the international week, the background of Operation Adream*, his own prison experience and the importance of solidarity, as well as the continual need for revolutionary action.

Two years since Toby was snatched[2] for attending an International Week of Solidarity with Anarchist Prisoners letter writing event at BASE, he’s back. The Counter Terror Police South-West and the National Security Division couldn’t keep our comrade out of our arms for long.

Too many anarchists and activists remain behind bars. Everywhere the authorities are cracking down against dissent and protest. When freedom is outlawed, only outlaws will be free! Come and sign cards, write
letters and learn about the anti-prison struggle and the cases of imprisoned anarchists.

Don’t forget about those in prison and if you want to take part, you can show up for a solidarity banner photograph (bring a mask!) after the event, so we can send it to prisoners. Vegan food. Fundraiser for the Anarchist Defence Fund[3].
