Chile: Text from subversive prisoner Marcelo Villarroel for Black August

Posted on 2025/09/09 - 2025/09/09 by darknights

One year after the departure of Tortuga and Belén. Words from subversive comrade Marcelo Villarroel

The daily struggle and resistance against imprisonment in centers of extermination and isolation would not be possible without the fertile bond of insurrectionary complicity between different comrades in different parts of reality.

In high-security and maximum-security cells, in the furtive mountains, in cities and metropolises riddled with techno-surveillance, on the paths of the struggle to live free… there is always one of us, one who does not adapt or surrender to the vicissitudes of domination, and that is where we find Tortuga, on that path of subversive antagonism, and Belén, walking freely through Anarchy.

We walk with our dead, our prisoners, and our fugitives. This is not a slogan but pure reality. We walk with our lights and shadows that feed the eternal fire of our rebellion. We walk with a firm step, seeking change by first changing ourselves, even if it costs us.

We walk without lowering our arms and we resist, we persist, and nothing stops us, not even the death that inevitably embraces us on this long road.

A fraternal and complicit embrace to all those whom nothing and no one can stop. To those who organize, to the imprisoned comrades who wrote, and to all those who resist with dignity in prisons and cages.

One year after the departure of Tortuga and Belén, we will continue to sow chaos and anarchy!
With all our fallen brothers and sisters and comrades!
Subversive anarchist prisoners and Mapuche prisoners out of jail now!
Until we destroy the last bastion of prison society!
As long as there is misery, there will be rebellion!

$hile: Words from the comrades imprisoned in the Susaron Case in memory of Lupi, Tortuga, and Belén during Black August.

Posted on 2025/09/09 by darknights

As prisoners known to be opposed to order, we feel it is our duty to send our love and fond memories to three individuals who are no longer with us on this earthly plane, and to their loved ones: Tortuga, Lupi, and Belén.

We were fortunate to have known all three of them.

Tortuga, in countless days of insurrectionary expansion of the anarchist seed, giving precious moments of propaganda, music, and questioning.

Belén, in the heat of the same struggle and direct action. We all knew how she bravely and fiercely put her words into practice, and she was always greatly respected for it.

And Lupi, when we went to welcome him with our comrades from Carreta Anárquica in Santiago 1, when he was imprisoned. We tried to give him a warm and supportive welcome: bringing him delicious food and warm clothes, laughing for a while in the face of misfortune. Seeing firsthand how, despite the nervousness and fear that comes with entering prison for the first time, he maintained a stoic and proud consistency in his words and actions. We met him in prison and will never forget his innocent and beautiful energy, the light he carried above his head despite the dire circumstances.

For all of them, honor, fire, gunpowder, and flames! To remember them without these elements would be disrespectful.

Let’s bring theory into conflict: let ideas set fires.

In our colorful and dangerous hearts live the comrades who are no longer with us physically. But we, the masterless, know that they walk beside us in danger and calm.

Fire to the existent, and may memory wreak havoc.

$hile: Political violence. Words from anarchist compañera Mónica Caballero

Posted on 2025/08/23 by darknights

Political violence can be understood, from an anti-authoritarian perspective, as an aggressive response that seeks to break, attack, or fracture each of the components that make up domination.

This response could be limited to damaging the symbols of authority, thus leaving a powerful propaganda message, that is, one that manages to capture each of the motivations behind the action and, ideally, causes the violent response to be repeated or spread, or at least part of it.

As I said earlier, it is possible to attack symbolically, understanding that the current system of oppression can be seen represented in different elements or physical objects, or even in people.

For example, we have the case of Sante Caserio, who stabbed French President Sadi Carnot. From my perspective, he did this because the president represented political power, which at that time had led to the deaths of his comrades Ravachol, Vaillant, and Henry. His action sought to be a direct attack on those who publicly upheld power in the territory dominated by the French state in the 1890s. In addition to carrying out revenge, Sante wanted there to be no doubt about his motivations, which is clear in his cry: “Long live anarchy!” At the time of his arrest, as well as in his court statement.

Currently, we understand that the capitalist, heteropatriarchal system of domination is intertwined with complex social and cultural relationships, in addition to material structures and the people who sustain them. Consequently, and from an anarchist perspective, I have (and have held for several years now) the following questions:

How could a decisive qualitative leap be made that goes beyond attacking the symbolic? Is it really possible to “hit where it hurts” the capitalist system, in a world where relations of domination have reached a network of networks throughout the world?

The answers to these questions have changed as I have come to understand how domination has developed and persisted, and I have tried to act on these answers by shaping the many ways in which we can destroy everything that prevents the full development of each individual.

On the long road of how anti-authoritarian political violence is exercised, the successes and failures must necessarily be a collective learning experience for those of us who stand on the same side.

Among those of us who have found ourselves in anarchist/anti-authoritarian “action,” we constantly meet new comrades, just as we painfully say goodbye to many others.

Comrades Belén, Tortuga, Lupi, your memory lives on.

Health and Anarchy!

Russia: Support anarchist Dmitry Osyagin, sentenced to 15 years for arson of a court building and anti-war comments

Posted on 2025/08/23 by darknights

Anarchist and anti-war activist Dmitry Osyagin from Kazan has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for setting fire to a court building. He was charged under three articles: calling for “extremism”, “terrorism” and committing a “terrorist act” .

According to investigators, in February 2023 Dmitry set fire to the court building in the Privolzhsky District of Kazan. The court was located on the ground floor of a residential building. As reported by the media, the fire damaged only the corner of a window frame and quickly went out. Initially, the case was opened under the article for property damage, but it was later reclassified as a “terrorist act”.

In addition to the arson, Osyagin was accused of making 17 posts calling for violence against government officials, including the President of Russia, and 27 posts which, according to investigators, contained terrorist rhetoric.

The court’s press release notes that Osyagin opposed the invasion of Ukraine and was allegedly a member of the anarchist group “Combat Organization of Anarcho-Communists” (BOAK), which has claimed responsibility for sabotage actions on railways and supports anarchist partisans. However, comrades from BOAK are not confirming Osyagin’s membership, saying:

“While proudly calling the imprisoned partisan a comrade and like-minded person, we cannot explain why state media call him a BOAK member. There are two possibilities: either he was indeed in contact with us and acted as an autonomous individual cell of the Organization — we do not collect any information about autonomous participants, and therefore precise identification is difficult — or the FSB, prosecutors, and court falsely attributed BOAK membership to him to ensure the longest possible sentence.”

After his arrest in 2023, Osyagin was added to the Rosfinmonitoring “list of terrorists and extremists.” Now, in addition to 15 years in prison, the court has banned him from administering any online resources for four years after his release.

The sentence was handed down by Central District Military Court Judge Alexander Raitskiy on June 18, 2025. Osyagin is being held in Yekaterinburg’s Detention Center No. 5 (SIZO-5).

Dmitry is a versatile person. Before his arrest, he worked in landscape design and fountain construction. He is interested in technology, IT, cryptocurrency mining, video games, history, and fantasy literature.

If you are ready to write Dmitry a letter — do it. He needs your support now more than ever.

Post campaign: Call for long-term solidarity to Alfredo Cospito (Italy)

Posted on 2025/08/22 by darknights

We circulate this call out for Alfredo to receive more postal correspondence and we understand that it is also within the framework of the International Week of Solidarity with Anarchist Prisoners, set from 23-30th August. Never a day alone, the anarchist hostages will endure, we’re always with them. Destroy the prisons.

Please, spread widely!

In order to break the isolation to which our anarchist comrade Alfredo Cospito is currently subjected through an almost total ban on mail, we call again to write him postcards and letters. This new callout to write him is also due to news reaching us from the Bancali jail where he’s held prisoner: Alfredo deems extremely opportune to keep on sending him correspondence, even unregistered, even just postcards, with or without sender’s address… If an avalanche of mail arrives, it’ll be more work for the screws working at the jail P.O.
We evaluated that registered mail sent to him is not as necessary as it has been so far, given that over 30 pieces of such mail have been blocked: on this subject, the Surveillance Magistrate must pass sentence: he’s obviously taking his sweet time (lawyers tells us it is standard procedure at the Bancali jail).

This coming Sept. 14th. there will be a hearing about the “compliance judgement” against the Bancali prison: the magistrate is asked to determine whether the jail authorities are respecting an authorization given to a prisoner, in this case Alfredo’s access to the library, which had been authorized but never really happened. If the judge rules in favour of Alfredo, he will have to designate a different officer to ensure that the authorization is complied with. $hile: Update on the third and fourth weeks of the trial against compañeros Aldo and Lucas Hernández

Posted on 2025/08/18 by darknights

Update on the trial against comrades Aldo and Lucas Hernández.

On Monday, August 4, the third week of the trial against comrades Aldo and Lucas Hernández began. Both were detained in connection with the investigation into the explosive attack against the National Gendarmerie Directorate.

During these more than 10 days of trial, the evidentiary phase has continued, with various witnesses and experts presenting testimony that supports the prosecution’s case presented by prosecutor Claudio Orellana. Specifically, last week saw the testimony of gendarmerie officials who were at the scene on the day of the explosion. Part of the routes taken by the individuals who planted the device, at least one of whom has been identified by the police as Aldo, have also been revealed, although no material evidence has yet been presented to reliably prove their involvement in the incident.

The following days are expected to follow a similar pattern, with testimony revealing police conjectures intended to establish the guilt of our comrades in the acts of which they are accused. The investigation carried out by the southern metropolitan prosecutor’s office and entrusted to specialized personnel such as OS9, GOPE, and LABOCAR. The call is to not forget or stop paying attention to the situation and the process our comrades are going through. This trial will be lengthy, as the penalties sought by the prosecutor’s office are outrageously high, and for this reason, it is the duty of those in solidarity to show up in the streets for our comrades in prison.

Aldo and Lucas to the streets!

Update on the trial against comrades Aldo and Lucas…

Monday, August 11, marks the start of the fourth week of the trial against comrades Aldo and Lucas.

The third week featured the presentation and examination of the latest evidence available to the public prosecutor’s office in relation to the explosive attack on the National Gendarmerie Directorate, such as images and recordings of the route taken by those who planted the explosive device, as well as statements from police officers belonging to various specialized police units (GOPE, LABOCAR, OS9) who have recounted the development of the investigation as well as the police hypotheses in inferences they had to make in order to place Aldo at the scene of the crime. It has become clear from the statements made that there are gray areas in the investigation that they were never able to determine with certainty, having to rely on assumptions in the absence of material evidence that effectively supports the accusation.

During the last days of the third week, the prosecutor began his presentation on the searches carried out on December 22, 2022, starting with the residence located in the 5th region, in the commune of Loncura, Quintero, which they attempt to attribute to Aldo and, with this, his responsibility for the items found there.

During the fourth week, the latest material and testimonial evidence relating to this address and the items found there continued to be presented, as well as evidence relating to the address raided on the same day, December 22, 2022, but in the municipality of Pedro Aguirre Cerda, La Victoria neighborhood, where, in addition to seizing a series of items, including ammunition, tools, and weapons, among others, comrades Aldo and Lucas were arrested.

Solidarity with comrades Aldo and Lucas, who are facing numerous years in prison.
May solidarity not be a misused word, but rather be felt in the daily lives of our comrades deprived of their freedom and also of those who suffer the reprisals of power.

Letter writing + Talk with Toby Shone for the International Week of Solidarity with Anarchist Prisoners – BASE Bristol

Sunday 31 August 2025

BASE Bristol – Easton – 14 Robertson Road – BS5 6JY

18:00 Food
19:00 Talk

The International Week of Solidarity with Anarchist Prisoners[1] takes place every year between 23-30 August to commemorate the murders of the Haymarket martyrs in Chicago, 1886, who died for freedom, labour rights and dignity.

This year at BASE we’re holding a fund-raising dinner and letter writing event along with a talk by ex-prisoner Toby Shone, who will speak about the international week, the background of Operation Adream*, his own prison experience and the importance of solidarity, as well as the continual need for revolutionary action.

Two years since Toby was snatched[2] for attending an International Week of Solidarity with Anarchist Prisoners letter writing event at BASE, he’s back. The Counter Terror Police South-West and the National Security Division couldn’t keep our comrade out of our arms for long.

Too many anarchists and activists remain behind bars. Everywhere the authorities are cracking down against dissent and protest. When freedom is outlawed, only outlaws will be free! Come and sign cards, write
letters and learn about the anti-prison struggle and the cases of imprisoned anarchists.

Don’t forget about those in prison and if you want to take part, you can show up for a solidarity banner photograph (bring a mask!) after the event, so we can send it to prisoners. Vegan food. Fundraiser for the Anarchist Defence Fund[3].

If Solidarity is Terrorism Then We Are All Terrorists!

Call for International Week of Solidarity with Anarchist Prisoners 2025

Posted on 2025/08/07 - 2025/08/07 by darknights

We call for actions during Week of Solidarity With Anarchist Prisoners 23 until 30 August 2025!

Against Prison Society, Towards Connection

Standing at the exterior of the prison we are greeted with the stark reality of alienation and separation. A wall, a fence, guard towers, surveillance cameras, concrete boxes and steel cages aimed at keeping the accused and “guilty” separate from the rest of society, concepts of rehabilitation and repentance constructed from ideologies of States in order to hold onto and secure their power, to freeze territories with fixed national identities and to punish whatever falls outside of their notions of legality, progress, outside of their morality and capitalist value. The thing is, once we stand outside the walls of the prison we realize that it is a touchable construct. It is a wall, it is concrete, it is material. Those who keep it functioning are living beings…  Yes, prisons isolate us, but they isolate us as much as we let them, as soon as we accept them. The walls become fixed and permanent to those of us on the outside as soon as we forget and accept the separation they impose. Those on the inside of the boxes can’t forget, as it is everyday they are confronted with the harsh reality of life on the inside. As long as states exist, there will be prisons, and we will find ourselves within their walls.

It is in the carrying forth of memory that we continue the struggle and life of comrades who have died before us, we carry the ideas and actions of those separated by cages and concrete, creating continuity and connection in the endless acts of resistance that make up a life in search of freedom. Prisons and the struggles that take place within their walls are a constant contribution to this collective memory of resistance.

Wether in the bowels of totalitarian dictatorships or in the heart of “social democracy” where State Violence has a different flavor, States hold no breath trying to put of the fires of subordination and resistance, where even having ideas that pierce it’s constructs can put you in it’s crosshairs, under it’s at times seemingly all pervasive gaze.

We recognize solidarity in its many forms – from connections and friendships to exchanges of ideas and dialog, to shared moments of attack – our comrades remain not isolated, but continuous breathing parts of our struggles.

In solidarity with those sneaking past the border walls, those on the run, in exile, in the deepest isolation chambers of solitary confinement, those who died in action, the criminalized.

Against all prisons.

We choose a life of tension and insubordination in the search of connection.

You cannot bury the force of life!

Greece: Dimitris Chatzivasileiadis: 23/7 Christoforos Marinos, 11/7 Vasos Tsironis, 19/7 Willem Van Spronsen

Posted on 2025/07/25 - 2025/07/25 by darknights

They are waiting for us on the balcony

July 23 marks the thirtieth anniversary of the political assassination of the anarchist comrade Christoforos Marinos by EKAM by government order. The extrajudicial executions of social activists, by government decisions during the current political regime, aimed to secure it in the face of the danger of the emergence of an open subversive movement. The murder of Marinos took place in order to lock in the anarchist movement the political results that the assassination of Michalis Prekas (October 7, 1987) had produced, the internalization of military terrorism and the separation from the subversive struggle.

Comrade Christoforos was by Michalis’ side in his last battle. Preka’s exit to a balcony with the guns held high, the impetuous meeting with the firing squad, instead of negotiating a surrender, constituted a steel political message, a call that would reverberate until the death of the state and capital: the irreversible historical passage to the unyielding revolutionary struggle. As a prisoner, the killers of Marinos’ partner manipulated him to consolidate their terrorist order. His close friends were sold out in tactics. Those who understood what was at stake politically, moved backwards from the passage that was opened with the exit of Kalogreza. The others found an opportunity to cannibalize those targeted by the state in order to bury everything that had a reference to the subversive struggle. Marinos himself revived the passage. When it was kidnapped in Bulgaria, it overthrew the rule of its torturers. It has taken to the streets again on all social fronts. It embraced the younger fighters like no other. It was rearmed. It confronted internalized terrorism and its political products and finally cleared the passage from hypocritical relativisms. Since then, everyone has come to know that the two worlds are irreconcilable: In front of the passage is the revolution that springs up fighting and bleeding. Behind the mockery of rotting culture.

On July 11, 1978, doctor Tsironis was also murdered. On a balcony and this unyielding revolutionary, with a gun in his hand and the people in his heart. These balconies are the door to our home.

The crossing has been kept open until today. Anarchy flourished on the free side of history. But the passage stands there for every now, not for the reminiscence of the fragrance of past flowers. In these three decades the tyrants have departed, the seas and the earth have turned red like fire, the chains have become unbearable, one on top of the other they have shaded the sky. The nation of bosses is at war, more work is needed and the human surplus is in the landfill. The masses wake up, naked they regress back and forth. The predatory opportunists of the left and the right make the nakedness of the masses a new political surplus.

In a neighborhood today, on the platform of the Propylaea and in Paris, London, Berlin tomorrow, the balcony of the doctor, Michalis and Christoforos, they eagerly await the embrace of an armed forest. The screams of history will set the pace along the way. Release the comrades from the balcony guard. They will leave a banner on the railing, written on the foot with their stone patience, a note for the latecomers: “I MOVE AGAIN”.

Willem the Captain

I saw Willem last week among the workers of the United Farmer Workers of America, outside a farm, facing the prison guards of the American colony. He took the place of a brother who was to testify under the boots of ICE. Four days ago, on July 19, on the anniversary of his attack on an immigrant prison in Washington, D.C., he sent me a message. He rigged a ship in Barbaria. He took his Cretan rifle and has set fire to the yachts and the cruises, the five-star shacks and the clubs in the Greek brothel of the imperialists and their Zionist gendarmes. Chapter is the common sun, the water of the dispossessed, the sand of the Athenian desert, the bloody salt of the Mediterranean, the sweat of the workers who are called upon not to raise their heads so as not to be slaughtered like the barbarians of the South. Harmful flows from the looted places invade the brothel. They spoil the harmony of European capitalism in Christ. Yes, Captain! Rules from Gavdos to the North Pole, not to stay swimming from the two-millennial Roman Empire. Let’s bring my bright captain.

Athens, Greece: Comrades accused of ‘Conspiracy Vengeance/Armed Response’ case attempt escape from court by taking a cop’s gun

Posted on 2025/07/15 by darknights

As expected, once again, the police-DAEB in collaboration with the corrupt judges did what they know best to do, to “cook”, to direct, to set up the trials and to get the result they want. Thus, with great audacity, the prosecutor Pappas Spyridon, within an hour, without any substantial arguments and a clear picture, “bagged” most of the accused, assigning to five of them the charge of 187A, that of terrorist organization. A specific name often used by the state and the judiciary to suppress their enemies. In other words, those who chose to oppose social cannibalism, those who chose not to be slaves of the bosses, those who do not accept the few to rule the many, for a life of freedom. Freedom is a basic foundation of life, it is in the nature of human beings, let alone prisoners, to seek it. Thus, on Thursday 10/7, in the Loukareos courts, some of the accused chose the path to freedom, even at the risk of their own lives. Despite the protection measures of the state apparatus and without any scruples about the consequences of this decision, they clashed with the cops, managing to wrest the weapon from one and immobilize a second. However, in their attempt to free the remaining accused, the cops regrouped and the escape attempt ended. They may not have won their freedom this time, but they managed to humiliate the entire security system with its armed cops, sending a strong message of solidarity and the realization that with risk and will, anything can happen. What is written above is not something you would hear or learn from the manipulative media, they know very well how to cover up the mistakes and dirt of their bosses.

PS. Words of great journalistic parrots.

Freedom of speech is a sacred and inviolable right in a democracy.
