Shutting down the heart of the megamachine – Fire of microchip production

Last night, we set fire to fuse boxes, supply cables and a ventilation system belonging to Micro Resist Technology on the grounds of the Wuhlheide Innovation Park. While Germany is once again unrestrainedly mobilizing for military strength and war capability with a turnaround, special funds and compulsory military service, we are targeting the heart of the technological mega-machine with our sabotage and, with microchip production, are also hitting one of the most sensitive points of civil-military cooperation. This attack is intended as a contribution to the protests against National Veterans Day next Sunday – fire and flame instead of glory and honor for militarism, soldiering and fatherland!

Tiny giants at the intersection of technology and war

The web of capitalist domination is tightening ever tighter around us. Technological progress is the engine that drives the destructive mega-machine and allows it to penetrate ever further into the most intimate areas of our existence. Inanimate objects made of plastic and metal, which, equipped with sensors, microphones, lenses, microchips etc., are increasingly becoming prostheses for social interaction, replacing genuine, empathetic relationships and causing our cognitive abilities to atrophy. At the same time, we are being tracked at every turn by social media, voice assistants, artificial intelligence, “smart” devices, facial recognition and many other surveillance tools, whereby everything we do is being increasingly incorporated into the capitalist value chain. Big data becomes big money. The implementation of such technologies in our everyday lives shapes our existence and the algorithmic calculations derived from them increasingly decide and determine our future. Once we have become accustomed to them, these mechanisms have such an all-encompassing effect that it is almost inconceivable for most people today to escape their digital grasp. For many, even the thought of it triggers anxiety. What remains is an army of slaves to the machine, dependent, controlled, externally determined and not even aware of this relationship.

However, this is only one side of the technological attack. Technology can and should not only manipulate our thoughts and actions, it should also kill. Almost all relevant technologies can be traced back to military research and development in order to gain advantages on the battlefield. Not only against hostile nations, but also in the social war against the exploited, superfluous and precarious of the population. From nuclear power to the internet, from cybernetics to artificial intelligence – our everyday lives are permeated by things that have a military logic at their core. In extreme cases, this can mean that apps that playfully accompany us through the day today feed and train the same machines on the basis of which an AI-controlled drone will determine and destroy its target tomorrow. A practice that is sometimes used by the Israeli military in particular through AI programs such as “Lavender” in their unleashed campaign of destruction against the Palestinian population of Gaza and with the friendly support of their Western accomplices. What seems like an episode from a dystopian science fiction movie is the gruesome reality of technological “achievements”, which are summarized under the term “dual-use” and are inherent in most technologies. Companies such as Google, Amazon, Microsoft, IBM, Siemens, Telekom and Tesla are just some of the best-known players operating at the interface between civil and military applications. Companies that produce highly specialized key technologies such as microchips/semiconductors, without which none of the modern technical devices would work, are far less well known. Few people in the world, nowadays, embody absolute Evil like the infamous entrepreneur and billionaire technocrat Elon Musk. It would be reductive, however, to consider him a classic cartoon “villain”, a character that would fit him like a glove, without realizing that this despicable individual is only the product of an economic and social system that marches towards its own self-destruction and that his expansionist aims symbolically summarize those of the system itself.

Officially entering the field of politics, all this is exemplified in his servility towards Trump, who has placed him in the front row of the reactionary, imperialist, sexist and supremacist offensive underway in the United States. Specifically, as a reward for his billionaire support for the electoral campaign, the newly elected president has awarded his favorite Dark Maga the leadership of DOGE, an ad hoc body that has quickly busied itself on cuts and reforms aimed at directly or indirectly affecting that slice of the population that is recognized by the new elite as “surplus”.

Neuralink is a startup that aims to create a system of neural interfaces that connect the human brain with artificial intelligence; he claims to have implanted his first brain chip, called Telepathy, in January 2024. The transhumanist dream that becomes reality, the utopia of the suppression of the “defective” components of humanity through human-machine integration, the creation of those efficient gears that technocratic capitalism has and will always badly need.

OpenAI, a company founded by Musk as an artificial intelligence research laboratory, has produced the first famous chatbot in history: ChatGPT. After abandoning its leadership due to a potential conflict of interest with its role in the development of AI for self-driving Teslas in 2023, he founded a rival startup, xAI, which has the stated purpose of training a generative artificial intelligence chatbot (Grok) that automatically learns to respond racistly, against the woke culture of which ChatGPT would be an expression.
In turn, through xAI Musk has recently purchased the X platform himself, the former instant messaging service called Twitter, well exemplifying the use of social media as a tool for algorithmic manipulation of public opinion for the most vulgar political purposes, as well as revealing in a now indisputable way the use of social media as an inexhaustible source of data for the use and consumption of AI BigTechs. The Internet of bodies: the body as a technological platform

Introduction

It has not even been ten years since the Internet of Things made headlines and fueled the dreams of technologists around the world. Smart clothes that can measure your mood and update your cell phone, smart glasses with which you can overlay reality with a second layer of your own, e.g., with personalized realities, smart and inexpensive light bulbs charged with carrying the burden of your eco-consciousness by turning on only when you are in the room or when you give the command from the controller of your life aka smartphone, smart coffee makers, ingenious mugs, wi-fi-enabled sinks, and the list goes on. All this new “smart” and illusory life promised by the universal interconnection of everything on the Internet has turned out to be, at least so far, a mere fantasy. But is this proof of the failure of the Internet of Things? In a sense, the answer should be yes (again, at least for now), at least if one is to take such promises at face value. On the other hand, the Internet of Things can be considered as much of a “failure” as any new model of an automobile-based society is a “failure” because its drivers end up spending most of their time moving at the pace of a sloth on Alexandra rather than with feline grace on open roads, vast expanses of open country, or meandering, scenic roads perched on green mountains, as they should, given the commercials. The crucial difference in the case of the Internet of Things, which will provide the measure of any failure or success, is that it was not simply an attempt to promote a product or even a range of products. What was widely promoted or even mandated was not so much and not only the lures of smart devices, but the very idea of universal connectivity, the notion that information can be drawn from anything and that this information can be valued, exploited and enhanced.

There have been many, too many, probably the vast majority of individuals in Western societies, who have seemed all too willing to take the bait of all kinds of smart devices. Finding themselves with the hook of universal interconnectivity stuck in them, perhaps not yet sufficiently aware of the consequences of the position they have found themselves in. The oceans of psycho-intellectual novocaine in which they swim daily (courtesy of social media and subscription lobotomy platforms) do not leave them much room to maneuver. The extent of this retreat of conscience and panicked concession of battlefield positions that would once have been considered non-negotiable has become evident, if nothing else, with the recent issuance of health certificates. The docile readiness with which the subjects display the symbols of their unworthy conformity to a paranoid regime (even for unnecessary movements, such as those related to work or studies) is a low point but not the nadir of political and aesthetic-moral decline; at the other end of the sewer are those who assume the role of controllers, not infrequently enjoying their role, even if they do not openly admit it, perhaps not even to themselves (their tone of voice and body language are, however, irrefutable witnesses). A marvelous social condition that allows microclimates and alveolus to be created everywhere, within which the mushrooms of petty authoritarian attitudes acquire the status of the self-evident: the teacher checks the pupils (a mischievous person might say, “this is not a new role for teachers”), the clerk checks the teacher when he shows up as a customer, the waiter checks the clerk when he goes to buy coffee, etc. Everyone is given the opportunity to assume the role of the examiner; but no one is spared the role of the examined: in other words, the definition of the cannibal condition.

A nontrivial reminder: all these things owe their “success” in large part to the fact that they are mechanically mediated. The smartphones that promised the blossoming of a life in which everything would be available at (or even before) the push of a button seem to have first spread the manure of social barbarism in the form of mutual surveillance. It is obvious that without the ability to instantly scan and identify a certificate, the entire “medical” surveillance regime would be unstable and to such an extent that it might eventually collapse. But who would dare to oppose such practices among those who, for the sake of any free “convenience,” have become spineless data bleeders through their interconnected devices of all kinds? France: Legalization of algorithmic processing of video surveillance images

Article 7 of the bill “relating to the Olympic and Paralympic Games and various other provisions”, an article authorizing experimentation with the processing by algorithms of images captured by cameras or drones, was adopted on Thursday by the National Assembly after lengthy discussions. This project, which includes experimentation with so-called “intelligent” video surveillance (i.e., automatically reporting “suspicious” individuals or behavior thanks to their program) had already been adopted by the Senate.

“The Minister of the Interior justified this experimentation with algorithmic video surveillance by saying that “exceptional situations require exceptional means”, referring to the 2024 Summer Olympics. The implementation of this technique will not, however, concern only the Games: it will apply to “sporting, recreational or cultural events” in general, which “by their scale or circumstances, are particularly exposed to risks of acts of terrorism or serious attacks on the safety of people.

In the early morning hours of January 16, 2023, we gained access to a well-secured area in the Germaniastraße in Berlin-Tempelhof and took 25 Amazon Prime vehicles out of circulation using incendiary devices. A fire of solidarity with the squatters in Lützerath and the prisoners on hunger strike.

The consumer mania on Black Friday and the lucrative Christmas business are over. The pompous charity and the little bit of contemplation give way to the usual routine of everyday life. The elbows are again extended to be able to exist in the competition of the present society. Inflation and the rising cost of living apparently defying the commodity rush and the associated plundering of the planet and its resources continues unperturbed in the new year and fills the coffers of the crisis winners of the online trade. Amazon’s monopoly position and extensive business model have long revealed it to be a dependency factor for many. But the company stands for much more than just flushing products onto the market at rock-bottom prices.

Your thoughts and feelings are worth their weight in gold

The IT giant’s technological developments point to a bleak future of a dystopian surveillance and control society. Amazon, as a driving force in the establishment of digital capitalism, is not only permanently changing the economy, but also everyday life, social behavior and even our ways of thinking. Artificial intelligences and algorithms are able to contr ol and manipulate needs. Calculations that can be derived from this are already shaping today what will be made into money tomorrow. With a wide range of products and technological infrastructure (servers), the company is pushing into more and more areas of life to satisfy its insatiable hunger for data. Be it through the surveillance software Amazon Ring, which acts as an all-seeing eye guarding the properties of the rich and – now also installed in vehicles – subjects the environment to permanent monitoring. By the voice assistance Alexa, which lurks as ears of the AI in the living rooms and bedrooms and attends even the most intimate moments. By means of facial recognition programs and sensors that are supposed to interpret emotions and direct customers through the self-pay stores of Amazon-Go. Or with a variety of developments in the fields of health and biotechnology to capture everything physical and break it down into numbers. Amazon knows that anyone who has large amounts of information and data at their disposal and can translate the present into mathematical dimensions also has the power to influence the future to their own advantage. A CONTRIBUTION TO THE FOURTH INTERNATIONAL
MEETING AGAINST TECHNO-SCIENCES

Hi everyone!

Three years ago, when Resistenze al nanomondo took on the initiative to organize this annual and international meeting for the first time, I couldn’t have imagined what would follow in the years to come. In that very first meeting I tried to describe my thoughts and concerns on the ongoing fourth industrial revolution by focusing on the futuristic and technomaniac (gentrified) neo-theory of Singularity and what follows on from the transhumanist ideology and the practices of its priests.

Today, after more than two years of continuous health terror full of scaremongering propaganda, informational carpet bombing and psychological manipulation via humongous and humdrum lies, nefarious threats, blackmailing, curfews, lockdowns, punishment, hypocritical calls for “solidarity”, promises and “rewards”, we can clearly see what for many comrades – although they always seem to be just a few – was evident and foreseeable since decades or centuries: how the ruling class creates and/or exploits various successive “crises” under the guise of “states of emergency” to apply, impose or make desirable (by the populace) “new” technologies and techniques, but also to extend old and identical-to-the-core forms of psycho-social control and capitalist accumulation, lately going even up to the cellular and molecular levels of the human species by making our bodies living foundries and factories of protein production owned by the biotech pharmaceutical industry.

One thing is sure, two things are certain: a “new”, “green” and, of course, “safe and effective” nuclear power will be suggested to address the “energy crisis” as well as the “climate crisis”, while a huge push for the approval of “gene-edited” food passed off as non-GMO is underway supposedly to become the solution to a “food crisis” of some vague, obscure and undefined cause, or even the treatment of modern civilization diseases such as obesity, in the same way that “new” and – let’s repeat it with one voice – “safe and effective” gene therapies, in the form of injections that were deceitfully labeled and falsely accepted as vaccines, were introduced to deal with an alleged “health crisis”.

It should come as no surprise if the proposed solution to a possible surge of auto-immune or genetically inherited diseases, resulted from these incapacitating or deadly injections of genetic engineering and the generalized biotechnological omniviolence (spanning from genome editing of various species to bioweapons), would come from her majesty the “queen of all (pseudo-)sciences” Eugenics and the “safe and effective” way to come into the world would be growing GM embryos of medically assisted “procreation” and surrogate “gestation” in artificial wombs, i.e ex-vivo plastic bagssimulating the living functions of the maternal body. Let alone the scenario of artificial reproduction mandates, such like the “vaccine” mandates, becoming the “socially responsible” choice to have a child passed off as a “free and conscious” choice for the health of the social body, which eventually is about the health of the Machine. Durante los días 27, 28 y 29 de Mayo tendrá lugar el «V Encuentro Anarquista contra el Sistema Tecnoindustrial y su mundo». Históricamente, los sistemas de dominación han aprovechado los momentos de crisis o catástrofes para transformar el mundo, para realizar una metamorfosis del mismo. En otros tiempos esta metamorfosis fue llevada a cabo cuando el capitalismo se vio amenazado por el avance de la lucha de clases o por la necesidad de cambios económicos y productivos con los que maximizar beneficios. En nuestro tiempo vemos como la tecnocracia aprovecha las emergencias ya sean energéticas, sanitarias, económicas, climáticas… para acelerar el tecno totalitarismo que supone el mundo-máquina. Se está llevando a cabo una nueva “gran transformación”, impulsada por las élites tecno-financieras, un Gran Reinicio. Reiniciar la vida en todas sus dimensiones para imponer una nueva forma de vida y un nuevo mundo bajo los imperativo de la 4º Revolución Industrial, es decir, reiniciar la vida para someterla al mundo-máquina que persigue optimizar al ser humano y todo lo vivo para convertirlo en un engranaje más de dicho mundo. Telephone presentation about 325 #12 – ‘Against the Fourth and Fifth Industrial Revolutions’ by a comrade from the 325 Collective at the event (https://athens.indymedia.org/event/84890/ ) held at the libertarian hangout Pikrodafni in support of the Solidarity Fund for Prisoners’ & Persecuted Fighters.

I want to start off by saying that I regret not being there in person, to see the faces of the comrades in attendance today because we are increasingly existing in a reality that is being dominated more by the screen and devices that have become artificial substitutes for what is real, the human face to face communication, something really lacking in the present we are in. So maybe one day we will see each others faces, our expressions of complicity, exchange some conspiratorial words. We are living in times now where ‘the movements’, well the remnants of I would call it, are struggling to find a new energy, a new path, a new trajectory through these times of pandemic, the blatant repression and control inflicted on us all, not just ‘the movements.’ This is why I am speaking to you now, as a comrade with deep concern about what is coming across the horizon at us faster than it has before, to build connection internationally, to spread ideas that can transform into action, because we are anarchists, not philosophers, academics, leftists or activists, we are those who do not see a separation between ideas and action, transforming our everyday into the attack.

The 325 project with its publications since 2004 was born from a DIY ethos, with insurrection, crime, autonomy, anti-prison and anti-psychiatry themes evolving into an ‘insurgent zine of social war & anarchy’ in later issues. From the outset there has been an increasing concentration on an international perspective, but especially with the development of technology, the destruction, death and control it inflicts.

Recently in the last 3 issues, #10, #11 & the recent issue this presentation focuses on, Issue #12, have come to concentrate on an anti-technology perspective, even given name to such an accelerating shift within the state, capitalism and the technological-industrial system, as the 4^th & 5^th Industrial Revolutions and within it the threat of the Technological Singularity.

The recent issue of 325, is a coming together of international anarchist individuals and collectives concentrating on the similar theme, analysis of the new realities that are the 4^th & 5^th Industrial Revolutions. A definition I feel is required here for both. The 4^th Industrial Revolution (also known Industry 4.0) is the ongoing automation of traditional manufacturing and industrial practices, using modern smart technology. Large-scale machine-to-machine communication and the internet of things (IoT) are integrated for increased automation, improved communication and self-monitoring, and production of smart machines that can analyze and diagnose issues without the need for human intervention. This will mostly marked by the breakthrough of emerging technologies such as robotics, artificial intelligence, nanotechnology, quantum computing, biotechnology, the internet of things, the industrial internet of things, decentralized consensus, cashless society, cryptocurrencies, fifth-generation wireless technologies (5G), 3D printing, and fully autonomous vehicles. All of these as most of you are probably aware are already permeating through our present society, which shows the 4IR is already under way. France: Anti-shoplifting biometrics arrive in supermarkets

Biometric video surveillance in our supermarkets

In order to detect theft, Carrefour, Monoprix, Super U and Franprix [and Intermarché] are experimenting with biometric analysis software to monitor our every move in their stores.

The health crisis had already unleashed the desire of private companies for biometric surveillance: thermal cameras at company entrances, detection of physical distances in offices, tracking of eye movements for remote university exams… Several French companies are now proposing to automatically detect thefts in stores “in real time” thanks to biometric analysis software directly connected to the cameras already present in the stores [behavior detection software that then sends an immediate alert to the security guard’s smartphone with a copy of the images].

While the idea of automatically detecting theft in stores has already been tested in Japan, several French companies have not hesitated to develop their own software:

“Anaveo”, a company of 320 people with a turnover of 70 million euros works in video surveillance for mass retail. Its “SuspectTracker” software promises to capture the flow of images from the cameras to analyze “suspicious behavior”, for example “gestures towards a stroller, backpack, trouser or jacket pocket”. Their presentation videos mention in passing that theft detection feeds into a database to further improve the algorithm.

“Oxania, a start-up founded in 2019, has produced a “Retail Solutions” software that would be able to “recognize gestures associated with theft in real time, detect behaviors, dangerous situations, customer journey and much more”. The video presentation calmly assumes to make a biometric analysis of the behaviors of people present in the store (body heat, gestures, body …).
