Toulouse, France: ‘Borne… to be burned!’ New electric car charging station burned

Posted on 2022/11/19 by darknights

New electric car charging station burned down on boulevard de Suisse, in Toulouse, this Thursday, November 10.

Energy is their future. Fossil or renewable, and especially nuclear, imported or not, production is always increasing, defining our needs and ruining lives.
The French state wants to stay in the race of energy markets. The restructuring of the car fleet is one of them, with the announced plan for 2030 of 2 million electric cars; this means new lithium mines, whole fields of photovoltaic panels and windmills, cities closed to all those who cannot afford to buy the new Zoe or a Tesla. If the planned goal of 100,000 electric charging stations has not been reached this year, it may be because this future is only of interest to car shareholders and a few hypertechnology enthusiasts. Since this summer, several recently installed charging stations have been destroyed in Toulouse, one of the test cities of the LEZ (low emission zone subject to the crit’air sticker). We participated in this resistance. The LEZ is an ecological decoy and a social injustice. Because we do not see a transition but an accumulation of energy resources whose exploitation conditions the survival of this shitty system. We see with joy that a resistance is also unfolding everywhere in many ways, and more broadly against the industries that pump all the energy.

France: Declaration of start of hunger strike by anarchist Ivan Alocco in solidarity with Alfredo Cospito

Posted on 2022/10/28 by darknights

For the past few days in Italy, fellow anarchist Alfredo Cospito has been on hunger strike against being subjected to 41 bis, the “special prison.”

Once again, Alfredo is also fighting for each and every one of us. So that we do not resign ourselves to increasing repression as a fatality.

Although my situation is far from comparable to his, I stand by his side.

Being locked up, I have limited room for maneuver. On Thursday, Oct. 27, I therefore begin a hunger strike in solidarity with his struggle.

I am aware that my gesture is only symbolic and I do not know how long I will be able to keep it up. But I hope that this small gesture can help him in his determination.

And that the determination of all of us can turn into action.

Head up!
Long live anarchy!

Silvaticus

Posted on 2022/10/18 - 2022/10/18 by darknights

In front of the steamrollers of industrial civilization and progress, one of the last sensible worlds populated by terrifying imagery and enchanted fantasies is disappearing before our eyes: that of the forests. Those that were a fiefdom of the lords who lined the hanged there, or a shelter to escape persecution. Those that represented the darkness where one could abandon one’s hungry offspring or the dense shelter from which to set out on the assault of the existent. Those that harbored mysteries populated by dryads and werewolves or that saw the warship builders and other master forgers come through to strip them en masse. Those that saw in Sherwood daring bandits plundering the rich, in Ariège Demoiselles (*) with soot-covered faces burning and plundering castles, in Courlande of revolutionaries continuing to strike fierce blows against tsarist tyranny, but also witnessing in the Alps or Poland the death by frostbite of migrants driven out by European border guards.

Fundamentally, forests are also ambiguous because of their very etymology, since forest stood for first and foremost the outdoor space not used by villagers-the word savage itself comes from silvaticus, meaning sylvan-before designating vast wooded areas reserved for the nobility and monasteries protected from peasant uses. By a singular inversion of meaning, the word forest, the perilous unknown that Roman civilization could not subjugate, ended up qualifying in a few centuries the territory par excellence of religious and feudal rule, before finally becoming a generic and rather vague term. Alfredo Cospito fuori dal 41-bis : Solidarity from Bure

Revolutionary solidarity is a sailboat without borders that rides the waves of the storm!

From Bure, we wish to send all our solidarity to our comrade Alfredo Cospito, who is currently in solitary confinement (called “41-bis”) in the prison of Sassari in Sardinia (Italy) for having shot the CEO of Ansaldo Nucleare, designer and builder of nuclear power plants, for having claimed his action and for having greatly contributed, from prison, to the debate on our modes of action, the diversity of tactics, internationalism and the revolutionary perspective of the anti-nuclear movement.

Any attempt to isolate one of our comrades will fuel our anger and revive the sparks that drive us to act. Alfredo Cospito’s struggle is also our struggle: against nuclear power and the technocrats who rule the world.

While the extraction of uranium and other rare-earth elements continues to ravage territories and destroy bodies, while nuclear “tests” or bomb trainings have contaminated the regions and inhabitants of Quirra in Sardinia, the Hoggar mountains in Algeria, Moruroa and Fangataufa in Polynesia, and other territories taken over by the imperialist powers, while in its war against Ukraine, Russia is using nuclear power plants as a sword of Damocles, Europe agrees that nuclear power is a “green” energy, France is rushing head first to build new reactors and Italy is questioning the shutdown of its production (after all, it didn’t mind continuing to build power plants in other countries, so why continue to pretend to have stopped, right?). The projects of burying radioactive waste, in Bure (France) and now also in Italy, are not a search for solutions to the contaminations that nuclear power has produced, but tools to allow nuclear power to develop, more and more.

The Italian state, in the vanguard of the repression of our struggles, adopts, not too surprisingly, the strategy of isolation. Isolate more and more: on an island far from loved ones, alone in a prison, in a cell in the basement. Sardinia, a militarized island, a training ground for special forces, with its NATO bases, is a node of the war. For a long time, it has been used as a location for isolating the most problematic political prisoners, such as the Red Brigades and the Nuclei Armati Proletari locked up in the Fornelli prison in Asinara, whose revolt of October 2, 1979 should be recounted. The Fornelli prison has now become a museum, but it has not made history of all the other prisons, it has not put an end to the confinements in the 41-bis special regime, and therefore it will not archive our struggles. Even today, Sardinia is used as a land of deportation for the enemies of the state order.

Municipal police targeted in Thouars

Courrier de l’ouest/La Nlle République (newspaper), 10 octobre 2022

It was 6.30am, this 10 october monday, in Thouars city hall backyard (department Deux Sèvres), when a maintenance worker heard crackin noises. And noticed someone escaping. In the night, he saw flames devouring a vehicle. Firepeople quickly intervene : 31 firepeople are engaged and a fire hose is used. The calcined corpse is the one of the second intervention vehicle from municipal police.

This monday morning, the staff of the town hall is appalled. Firepeople limited the spread of flames to the wood parts of a reprography office, located in an annex building of Thouars town hall. A computer has also been damaged and the office will be unusable for some times. Upper floor windows, which is the temporary local of the municipal police, are also heavily damaged. France: An update on the situation of anarchist Ivan Alocco

Posted on 2022/10/12 by darknights

On October 5, anarchist comrade Ivan, arrested on June 11 and accused of six arson attacks against vehicles, was brought before the judge of freedoms at the Bobigny courthouse. Vice-president Claire Vettier, the same one who had ratified his imprisonment on June 13, renewed the comrade’s preventive detention for four more months.

In the meantime, his correspondence seems to have unblocked. Although old letters continue to gather dust in the examining magistrate’s office, the comrade received two postcards and a letter, sent in the last few days. They gave him great pleasure and he thanks those who thought of him.

Let us not forget the imprisoned revolutionaries.
Solidarity is the attack!

Haute Vallée de l’Aude : Mobile network breakdown caused by vandalism act

L’indépendant
, 23 septembre 2022 (extract)

Since 9:30am, this 23rd september friday, many Haute Vallée households, especially in Quillan and Espéraza, are deprived of mobile and internet network. Reached, Orange operator specify that the breakdown has a vandalism act made on a optical fiber cable in the commune of Quillan for cause.

Apart from individuals, professionnals have also been touched by this breakdown : Bank paying terminals could not work in several shops.

(And, as the newspaper doesn’t precise to not give bad ideas, contrarily to the “Orange/Occitanie local loop intervention team responsible” who has published on twitter the linked photo. It’s along the TER (regional train) railway, after a swale was lifted, that a section of this cable was voluntarily cut.)

Toulouse (Haute-Garonne), France : Stop paying, make pay !

On the night of the 23rd to the 24th september, in Toulouse, Frédéric Mistral alley, 2 LCL banks have been painted and attacked with hammer hits. Austerity, misery and inflation don’t fall from the sky.
Some take everything, and leave their crumbs. In echo to the calls to stop paying*, to burn our bills, to the 29th september demos** and those to come, let’s also take the night.

Against end of the month anguish, some hits in the face of the war profiteers.
Against the end of the world anguish, some hits in the face of those financing it.
We know it’s not mad, mad, mad to make bang, bang, bang on banks windows.
But when prices rise, windows fall, and it’s already something. Strike is coming, may it comes with fracas.

And a solidarity salute to Boris***

CLODO (…when matches were the “off” button)

Fanzine and review of the documentary on CLODO (Committee for the Liquidation or Destruction of Computers)

A documentary delves into the mystery surrounding a group of anonymous activists who carried out a series of arson attacks in Toulouse in the 1980s.

In the 1980s, the French city of Toulouse was home to a number of companies that used computers to further the aims of France’s police and military-industrial complex. These companies, such as Sperry Univac – a major U.S. equipment and electronics company – were among the first to create digital surveillance systems and manufactured products that would make warfare easier for the state by improving the accuracy of missiles.

In addition to housing these private military companies, Toulouse was also home to a milieu of radicals, including Spanish anti-fascists fleeing Franco; Action Directe guerrillas; and a new left forged in the aftershocks of May 1968, when students and workers staged a series of strikes that rejected the authority of the ruling Gaullist party and the orthodox Marxism of the French Communist Party.

It was in this context that an activist group called the Committee for the Liquidation Or Destruction of Computers (CLODO) emerged, which carried out several arson attacks against computers of military technology companies in Toulouse during the 1980s. Not much is known about CLODO. It disappeared completely after committing some six successful and two unsuccessful attacks against technology companies, leaving satirical communiqués as the only proof of its existence.

An introduction to the translation of one of its communiqués suggests that the group may have emerged from a citywide coalition to prevent the construction of the Golfech nuclear plant on the local Garonne River. In 1981, when this movement reached a stalemate, some participants resorted to an intensive campaign of sabotage. CLODO, who claimed to be computer workers, may have taken this sabotage impulse and applied it to computers, which in their view were “the preferred tool of the rulers. They are used to exploit, file, control and repress”. Continue reading “CLODO (…when matches were the “off” button)” →

France: A letter from Ivan, from Villepinte Prison

Posted on 2022/09/28 by darknights

Below is a text by anarchist Ivan Alocco, who was arrested on June 11 and is currently imprisoned in Villepinte Prison, France.
Break the isolation! For immediate revolutionary solidarity with Ivan and all imprisoned anarchists!

–

I am writing to share some thoughts and give some news.
I would like to begin with something that illustrates well the methods of the judicial system.
A few days after my arrest, the judge who instructed the investigation, Stéphanie Lahaye, sent two cops from SDAT [the Anti-Terrorism Sub-Directorate of the Judicial Police] (including the judicial police officer “RIO 1237232” – like machines, they have numbers instead of names) to interrogate my daughter and her mother. Obeying his orders, the procedures of state justice, they tried to pressure a 12-year-old girl. After making her wait in the courtyard of the local gendarmerie barracks during her mother’s interrogation, they allegedly wanted to interrogate her alone. Evidently, her mother refused to leave her.
An ordinary, mundane procedure, a necessary act to establish the truth, according to judges and cops. A way, in my opinion, of trying to spread fear. A warning to my loved ones and to everyone, because, in the inquisitive logic of Justice, people who stay or stand by an anarchist accused of direct action are suspect and must be bothered.

This is somewhat the same logic that was used against me. When the same judicial police officer, during interrogations while I was under arrest, asked me, she reproached me for bringing my support to imprisoned anarchists, in France and in other countries. Of writing to them and occasionally sending them some money. Of course, I often wrote to numerous imprisoned compas and did my best to express my solidarity with them. Because they are anarchists and also because I am convinced of the rightness and necessity of the actions some of them are accused of.
I think solidarity, by any means necessary, with compas affected by repression is fundamental. To avoid openly solidarizing with them, for fear that repression will spread, would be to enter the game of Justice, to accept its logic. A logic that would make us retreat further and further, until we abandon, or almost abandon, the imprisoned revolutionaries. Continue reading “France: A letter from Ivan, from Villepinte Prison” →
