Athens, Greece: Responsibility Claim for the bomb attack on the Ministry of Labour and Hellenic Train – Revolutionary Class Self-Defence

Posted on 2025/04/19 - 2025/04/20 by darknights

RESPONSIBILITY CLAIM FOR THE BOMB ATTACK ON THE MINISTRY OF LABOUR AND HELLENIC TRAIN

“Death on the scaffolding, death on the trains, capitalism is fed with blood”

Slogan born in the huge demonstrations of March 2023 for the state capitalist crime in Tempi.

On 26 January 2025 and 28 February 2025 respectively, hundreds of thousands of people demonstrated against the government of murderous anti-worker restructuring and Hellenic Train, a subsidiary of the Italian monopoly Ferrovie Dello Stato, which bears the main responsibility for the murder of 57 fellow human beings in Tempi on 28 February 2023.

The demonstrations and strikes are a contribution to the formation of our collective defence as a Class and at the same time, since they took place in a country that played an active role in the US-Zionist genocidal war in Palestine, a practical act of solidarity with the heroic Palestinian people, who, with gun in hand, are showing the way for the liberation of the peoples of the whole world.

In particular, the strike of 28 February was a response to the rivers of blood that are spilled every day in the labour sweatshops. A response to the unspeakable pain for our fellow workers, our brothers and sisters, our mothers and fathers, our sons and daughters, our friends and girlfriends, lost or crippled in the struggle for a living wage. A response to the relentless class warfare we live every day here.

The massacre of the working class in the workplace as a conscious policy of capital and the state apparatus

The figures for deaths at work, even those given by official state statistics, which do not record a large number of incidents (e.g. of migrants) or show deaths as pathological, are inexorable. In the last three years alone, over 600 workers have died and over 1000 have been seriously injured (amputations, permanent paralysis, severe respiratory and cardiac problems), while thousands of others have been injured in need of medical treatment (with all the multifaceted costs that this entails) in over 40,000 work ‘accidents’. These figures are much higher if we include the hundreds of deaths per year, according to estimates by independent international organisations, from diseases (cancers, cardiovascular diseases) related to unhealthy working conditions (e.g. permanent exposure to chemicals, exhaust fumes), which the Greek state does not even register as such, in violation of international guidelines.

The butchery of the working class in the workplace has a name: it is called class exploitation, the pursuit of maximum profit by capital, the extraction of surplus value. It is called employer terrorism, it is called state policy of strengthening the competitiveness of the labour market, it is called employer trade unionism. It is called memoranda, it is called a policy of reducing public debt, it is called the EU’s fiscal stability pact, it is called the Achtsioglou law, the Hatzidakis law, the Georgiadis law. It is called poverty, unemployment, extortion of survival.

The parliament is a mechanism of class domination. The ministers and deputy ministers, the general secretaries, the technocrats of the Association of Enterprises and Industries, the banks and the shipowners who staff the legislative committees for the drafting of anti-worker laws are well aware of the consequences of the laws they pass. They are fully aware that the abolition of collective labour agreements, compulsory unpaid overtime, six-day work, the slashing of heavy and unhealthy work, the linking of wages to productivity (minimum wage law), the increase in retirement thresholds, the virtual abolition of the labour inspectorate, the criminalisation of strikes and the liberalisation of dismissals, the abolition of basic safety standards, all lead with mathematical precision to an explosion in the number of workers’ deaths and injuries. But that is their job, their role, that is why they are in this position. To shield and reinforce the capitalists’ profitability with the blood of the working class : with the blood of construction workers, shipbuilders and dockers, with the blood of bicycle drivers and train and transport workers, with the blood of call centre and catering workers, with the blood of workers in industry and public works, with the blood of migrant farm workers.

This is precisely why its persons and structures have been in the crosshairs of the proletariat and the revolutionary movement throughout time. From the execution by urban guerrillas in the Nazi occupation of the fascist corrupt labour minister Kalyvas to the bloody battles of the building movement in the 1960s in front of it and the attacks on its structures during the Junta by anti-dictatorship organisations, and from its constant targeting in the post-war period by revolutionary organisations to its militant blockades by workers’ unions.

Argentina: Clashes in Buenos Aires due to Right Wing Austerity Program

Posted on 2024/06/15 by darknights

Violent clashes between law enforcement and protesters in Buenos Aires on Wednesday marred the debate in the Senate of a package of reforms called for by far-right President Javier Milei.

The violence began when protesters tried to break through the security cordon set up around the Chamber of Deputies, where the so-called “omnibus” law must return if the senators approve it. Seven people, including five opposition MPs, were treated in hospital.

Cars were set on fire and the police responded to projectiles by firing rubber bullets and water cannons. At least 10 people were arrested and nine police officers were injured. By nightfall, the forces of law and order were finally taking control of the streets.

The Argentine Presidency denounced “the terrorist groups that, with the help of sticks, stones and even grenades, have tried to perpetrate a coup d’état”.

Senators debated since Wednesday morning the new version of the Milei government‘s flagship law, rejected in its original form of 600 articles, and adopted with major changes to 238 articles by the Chamber of Deputies in April.

The reform was adopted Wednesday evening by the Senate, which approved its revised draft. Among the concessions of an executive that has become more pragmatic over the months: the number of privatizations has gone from about 40 in the initial version to less than 10, including the one still on the table of the airline Aerolineas Argentinas.

The proposal to make the labour market more flexible was also debated by senators. And a tax reform, originally part of the omnibus law, was decoupled to be discussed separately in the same session.

Athens, Greece: Attack on private schools in the centre by Anarchists

Posted on 2024/04/25 - 2024/04/25 by darknights

ATTACK ON PRIVATE SCHOOLS IN THE CENTRE

It is a fact that any education must be available and accessible to every subject who seeks it. Successive attempts, for at least 30 years, to change its character have tended to overturn the obvious. Privatisation in every aspect of our lives (health, electricity, public spaces) cannot overtake the institution of education. We have no illusions about the excellence of education provided by the state (inadequate infrastructure, hierarchy within the structure, discipline, development of national consciousness, etc.), but the establishment of private universities takes it a step further.Private universities (called non-state universities in this case, so that there is the possibility of state subsidies to share the pie with the cronies of the powerful) make exclusion on the basis of economic criteria even more pronounced. Of course, the facade of free and public education does not fool us (the need for tutorials, especially after the introduction of the Single Entrance Qualification (SQF), some paid courses at universities, paid postgraduate degrees, etc.). At the same time, however, bearing in mind that attending a private university requires you to pass the EBE (so there is still the cost of tutorials, and there is talk of paying for textbooks), the exorbitant tuition fees are added, which it is obvious that only the financial elite can cover. Although free education was formally established by the state, we see it being brought back into question, while its degradation continues. The pursuit of free education does not imply the unity of an imaginary student subject. Within this patchwork are the future slaves with their masters, roles based on their already existing or non-existing privileges. The fairy tale of socio-economic advancement through universities is no longer more than that. A fairy tale. The main aim now is to produce slaves, individuals alienated from the commons and whose only existence is work, based on the needs of the market. And who better to provide docile workers than a private university, with a completely targeted curriculum and a complete prevention of any radicalized thinking. Their sterile nature does not allow for any kind of political engagement, which is what they seek to do to democracies in an attempt to bring them up to more “European” and downwardly mobile American standards. Playing on American economic standards, the banks, first and best, have rushed to make extra profit by advertising student loans, trying to steal a little more from the lives of those below who cannot afford to support such high tuition fees. By critiquing and questioning how state-provided education exists, we stand against further impositions of the state and capital on our existence. We know that any change is made in the interests of the few, the bourgeois and the businessmen, against our own needs and desires.

On the basis of this recognition, we recognise the constitution in the same way. From an anarchist view of the facts, the constitution and laws in general are objects instituted by a special caste of professionals in power, whose aim is to perpetuate the political, economic and ideological supremacy of those above and the imposition and oppression that this aim entails on a large part of society. The constitution is something that is drafted by a select few for themselves and creates an illusion of freedom and security in the modern world for everyone else. Here a need of capital (private universities) is recognized and the state is quick to set aside any institutional resistance by finding legal terminology and finally passes the bill making manifest its long-standing desire for a new revision of the constitution which it has been struggling to initiate for years to keep up with the modern demands of capital. This is why our position is not confined to the role of guardian of the constitution, but attacks the foundations of this charter of democracies and beyond.

On the previous strand, the role of the guardian of the constitution was assumed by the domestic left. They are using it as an arrow in their propaganda, when their quiver was empty. Besides, it is well known that the student left is waging an institutional struggle, such as through general assembly resolutions led by their trade union structures and making backstage deals between the factions, the factions try to patronise any struggle that springs up within the universities. A typical example is the “mass” general assemblies that took decisions on weekly occupations, in which only the factions with their own hours and locks participated. The complete de-nationalization of the means of struggle of the occupations, since classes and examinations were held without obstruction in almost all departments, not only undermined the tool of struggle of the occupation, but also left a legacy of disuse of this means. The fetishization of ’06-’07 and the struggles they preached in the 3rd line of each of their texts, makes them appear as archetypes and not as pioneers, as they want to show. This stems from their basic modus operandi, which only aims at extracting political surplus value for the benefit of their organisations.

Putting our stone in the struggle against private universities we chose, on Thursday 4 April 2024, to intervene with our heavyweights in the business-schools Mediterranean College on Patision and Codringtonos and in IEK Akmi on Codringtonos. The facades of both were smashed, while in the latter we entered the interior and smashed computers and monitors. With only our heavy tools and our willingness to act we caused a blow to two of the most famous schools in the centre of Athens.

We salute the comrades who attacked Le Monde, as well as any aggressive action that will follow.

We have arms, we have hammers, and the schools will be reduced to ashes.

Athens, Greece: Responsibility claim for the breaking of ‘Green Park’ luxury restaurant on 20/1

Posted on 2024/02/19 by darknights

The gentrification and privatisation of our neighbourhoods and, by extension, our lives is a phenomenon that has been strongly observed in recent years. A glaring example of this condition is the luxury restaurant called Green Park. The problem starts with the fact that big business owners dare to set up their little shops with their well-polished windows in areas where people are unable to pay their rent. They thus ostentatiously attract apolitical gentlemen and bourgeois who drive around in their luxury vehicles and entertain themselves behind bouncers and unpaid waitresses. The above were even the dumbstruck audience of Greece’s most famous clown, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, at this establishment. By extension, Green Park, has been an important factor in the wider redevelopment of the Areos Park, which includes private security, fixed opening hours and cameras. Not tolerating the situation, we attacked the restaurant en masse, destroying all the glass panes of its frontage. Unfortunately, however, at the time of the attack, the restaurant was closed, so we were unable to hit either the well-heeled bourgeois or the bouncers who “faithfully” guard the entrance of the restaurant and the posh vehicles of the customers. As anarchist subjects, we urge people in all neighborhoods to systematically take similar and more upscale actions and defend public spaces.

IF WE DON’T RESIST, ALL OUR NEIGHBORHOODS WILL BECOME MODERN PRISONS.

24 HOURS OF SUBMISSION, WORK AND CONSUMPTION AND THE REST OF THE TIME A SPECTATOR.
