[EN/ES/PT] Porto Alegre, Brazil: Barricade against the Temporary Framework, ten years after June 2013

Posted on 2023/06/16 by darknights

At nightfall on June 13, choosing the date in memory of the historic protests of 2013, we set up a barricade in the center of the city of Porto Alegre, one block away from the Three Powers Plaza (Government Palace, Legislative Assembly and Palace of Justice). But it was not simply an act of memory, we also responded to the call for the struggle of the indigenous people against the Temporary Framework (1). The Colonial usurpation is a reality that affects our daily lives and we need to fight it.

Aware of the war that domination (corporations, agribusiness, political parties and religious brainwashing) has declared on us, which is confirmed every hour through the genocide of peoples, the devastation of the earth and the cult of money, it is insufficient for us to assume the role of situational analysts. Massive information, within everyone’s reach, makes it clear that it is not for lack of data that some choose, as a way of life that some choose, as a way of life, devastation, aggression, genocide, or that they choose to collaborate with those who carry out all this. Thus, the word alone is not enough to combat so many attacks on life.

Few are the victories, that in these lands we can collectively celebrate, the 2013 protests were precisely one of those rare victories that was achieved in the streets, and that was given by the force of violent action, not by the meek parade that the parliamentary leftists desire and propose, nor by the acts of patriotic submission that the right-wingers mentally affected by the hallucination of the red threat perform.

It was chaos, disorder, leaderless vandalism, and the lucid vision of the rejection of impositions, segregations and oppressions, which bent the arm of power. And all the politicians, be they of the left or right, know, with fear, that this is the force that overthrows any tyranny. Some people, collectives and individuals also know this, but we know it with joy and with the search to expand the revolt.

We send, with the heat of this barricade, a complicit gesture to all those who are in struggle against the Temporary Framework, against the legalization of the plundering of lands from indigenous people, making combative blockades as the Mbya Guarani Community of Jaraguá in Sao Paulo.

And may the heat of this barricade also warm the hearts of our anarchist comrades in prison: from Chile to Greece, from Italy to Russia: Alfredo Cóspito, Anna Beniamino, Juan Sorroche, Gabriel Pombo da Silva, Claudio Lavazza, Pola Roupa, Nikos Maziottis, Toby Shone, Boris, Ivan Aloucco, Monica Caballero, Francisco Solar, Joaquin Garcia.

–

Text of the pamphlet that flew on the barricade:

We need to be aware that 1988 is just the date that marks a new cycle of exploitations and is not the Time Frame of the history of any people.

Already 2013, is the date that teaches us that fighting does not mean begging for attention from the institutions.

Because all violent action is justified by centuries of domination, our proposal is simple: Attack what attacks us.

(1) Bill of the Brazilian Parliament that proposes that the recognition of indigenous territories be demarcated by the presence of communities in 1988, the year of the beginning of the Political Constitution of the Brazilian State in force, omitting the processes of invasion, colonization and expulsion that took place since the XVI century against the indigenous people, who had to abandon their territories and dislocate countless times. This bill, which is currently being voted on, also proposes to legalize a series of exploitations on these lands.

Ted Kaczynski (May 22, 1942 – June 10, 2023)

Posted on 2023/06/12 - 2023/06/12 by darknights

“There are many people today who see that modern society is heading toward disaster in one form or another, and who moreover recognize technology as the common thread linking the principal dangers that hang over us… ”
T.J.Kaczynski, Anti-Tech Revolution: Why and How

Kaczynski will be looked back as one of the individuals who tried to do what they could to hasten the demise of techno-industrialism. Years without the chance to interact with the natural world and wilderness that he tried to defend, walking only in brutal concrete yards and without any chance to escape to the wild, the existent collapse and horror we are living in today and which only a small elite are profiting from, serves to vindicate this incredible man and stands as it falls – a bewildering and tragic testament to Ted Kacznski’s vision, warning and courage. Vengeance for the comrade. For the end of the machine world.

From La Nemesi:

It is with grief that we learn of the death–a few hours ago, on June 10–of Ted Kaczynski, an inmate in U.S. maximum security prisons since 1996. We publish some words from fellow anarchists.

More rational words will surely come out shortly. Now as anarchists we feel compelled to break the news of the death of revolutionary prisoner Ted Kaczynski. We mourn this passing and will add his name to the list of our revenge, continuing to weave the black thread of our paths of denial.

Finland: Incendiary attack against Saga Furs

Posted on 2023/06/10 by darknights

Receive and transmit:

Our lives and environments are under a constant attack, because of this we have no other way than to defend ourselves by attacking against the forces that destroy us.

On Thursday 1.6. before dawn we cut a hole in the fence of Saga Furs in Vantaa, Finland and made an incendiary attack against their premises.

Saga Furs has no justification for existing. As a company they make profits for their rich owners and cause monstrous suffering to animals produced for the fur industry. This will not end by asking or hoping.

Until Saga Furs is fertilizer for our gardens.

Incendiary outbreak at Liceo de Aplicación in memory of Mauricio Morales

On Monday, May 22, a rally was held in the vicinity of the Liceo de Aplicación leading to barricades and confrontations with Molotov cocktails against the presence of the Carabineros (COP) in memory of comrade Mauricio Morales who died in combat when he detonated in advance the explosive device he was trying to install in the Gendarmerie School in 2009.

Banners and leaflets were read: “May 22nd, day of chaos”, “Before sleeping I embrace kaos. For a May as black as gunpowder. Mauricio Morales”, ” There are still backpacks like Punky Mauri’s”, “Mauricio Morales present, let anarchy live”, “14 years after your departure, you are still alive in our anarchist hearts and souls.”

Below are some records:

Words for compañero Punki Mauri by Joaquín García Chancks

From the other side of the walls, I extend an affectionate and anarchic embrace to all those who participate in this already historic activity.

It is incredible the passage of time, it would be terribly false of me to speak of a closeness to anarchist circles back in 2009, I think I felt part of an anarchist collectivity, if you can call it that, shortly after, enough for the loss of a comrade to still be felt so close to the surface.

Mauricio Morales transcends, he is an inevitable reference for many -no matter how hard one fights to destroy that idealized and stereotyped image that this same anarchic “we” has been in charge of propagating through time- that is the truth, one cannot think of May without considering this date, one cannot whisper attack without thinking of Mauricio, one cannot conspire to attack without the palpable experience that sometimes things do not work out well; It is what endows history with reality, what makes us shake off all the theory and put our feet on the ground, the seriousness of what confrontation means, the knowledge that what may be so costly for us will not be so costly for Power…. To assume that no action will bring us an anarchic tomorrow, that the becoming is lived day by day, and that the only way to obtain a little bit of freedom is to embrace antagonism as a present, of theory and praxis, word and action, morality and attack. If we are to find something clear, almost undeniable in Mauricio, let it be this symbiosis.

Words by Marcelo Villarroel in subversive memory of Mauricio Morales

“I will seek at the risk of my life the best, the authentic freedom…”

Mauricio Morales.-

– From prison and 14 years after the death in action of comrade Mauricio Morales, a greeting of insurrectional memory and an eternal war cry for all those who walk the same path of struggle.

On the night of May 22, 2009, a powerful explosion shook the surroundings of the Gendarmerie School, a prison repressors’ factory, in the Matta neighborhood, in the south-central area of Santiago de Chile.

The explosion mortally wounded the Punky Mauri, who was on his way by bicycle to attack with an artifact, the main redoubt for the formation of penitentiary officers, seeking to strike with anarchic vengeance the place from where the most detestable beings that prison society can produce are mass-produced. $hile: Communiqué after 7 months in prison. Anti-speciesist prisoners of the Susaron case

Posted on 2023/06/05 - 2023/06/05 by darknights

On November 3, 2022, we are detained by the BIPE in different territories, our houses are raided, accusing us of arson in an inhabited place, with danger to people. Due to the fire that affected the Susaron branch on September 19, 2022, resulting in the burning of its sales room, refrigerators and trucks, causing millions of dollars in damages.
On November 4, we went to detention control, where we were charged with the crime of arson and possession of ammunition, the butcher shop and the Public Prosecutor’s Office filed a complaint.
We were remanded in custody for 70 days while the investigation lasted.

Time that has been extended by the prosecutor until today, almost 7 months, due to the seriousness of the crime and the penalty that this deserves according to the penal code, which is around 15 to 20 years.
In these long months, we have gone through various emotions and feelings. Confronting the reality of every prisoner, facing the blow that prison generates in your habits and close circle. Keeping indeclinably the conviction and courage that led us to these cages. Living in our own flesh what millions of animals around the world live. A forced and arbitrary captivity. Violence and aggression. Based on the decision of a judge. In their case; the judge is the accepted human logic that sees them as things or inferior.
We do not regret our ideas and the steps that lead us to our becoming.
There is no wall, gendarme or bar, that makes us stop sustaining that animal liberation is a fundamental pillar of any anarchic or libertarian conception. And that in that glow, the active hands of those who embrace the idea against authority are primordial.
Yesterday, today and tomorrow. We are still at war!
For the fall of this and any society! Social-anti-social war!
Animal liberation! Total liberation! Under any consequence and affected.

VICTORY IN THE HUNGER STRIKE OF GIANNIS MICHAILIDIS

Once again dystopia is dangerously close to us. The state is constantly inventing new ways to undermine more and more our living conditions. Labour rights are now a thing of the past as partial employment contracts, the daily dismissal of trade unionists, often fatal work accidents, wage cuts, and the repayment or non-payment of bonuses under extortionate conditions are the status quo. At the same time, it is becoming increasingly shamelessly obvious how expendable our lives are to the state apparatus. The 57 murders in Tempe, the daily deportations and repatriations of migrant women on equally murderous terms, and the more ‘indirect’ method of the state’s death policy by raising the prices of everyday products, electricity and gas, as well as rents. Of course, even if you have to pay for all this, no one can guarantee that the next day you will still have a house to live in, since there is no longer any protection of the first home and the cops and prosecutors may appear one day in your living room and literally throw you out on the street within a few hours with all the things you have managed to collect.

To enable this condition to be established, a lot of money was spent on hiring cops from every service and buying official vehicles, placing them in ‘key’ places like squares, universities, hills and playgrounds. Apart from their physical presence, the state is more present than ever before through the installation of cameras on every corner, illegally or legally placed, and through the microphones and cameras on our mobile phones. No longer is the ‘big brother’ a fictional character from a novel, but the terrifying everyday life in which we live and grow up, where social control is brutal and universal.

The context of modern totalitarianism could not fail to include the further “upgrading” of the prison system and prisons. The state and those in power, known for their fetishism in punishing and torturing anyone who opposes them, are constantly reinforcing the dungeons of democracy, aiming at the complete annihilation of the imprisoned militants. Thus, in the winter of 2022, in a more comprehensive attempt to fortify the state against the social upheaval that prevailed, the new penal code is passed. According to it, type C prisons were reintroduced under the name of ”maximum security prisons”, disciplinary procedures were tightened, the conditions for granting leave and for the temporary dismissal of those prosecuted under 187A or accused of robbery and drug offences were changed, thus discrediting the position of political prisoners. It also introduces a ban on the transfer of certain categories of prisoners to rural prisons. U$A: 2023 Statement from Marius Mason for June 11 EN/ES

Posted on 2023/06/04 - 2023/06/04 by darknights

Dear Community, Family and Friends,

Thank you for the work you are doing to make the change we need to make into the world for our collective survival. Your dedication, support and love are a constant source of inspiration and motivation for me; and I am betting for other prisoners, as well.

This has been as eventful year and a half here at FCI Danbury. My transfer to a male facility had been viewed with great trepidation both by those supportive of trans people and by those who are adamantly opposed to our existence. I’ve had many memorable experiences; some humiliating, some merely annoying and awkward. But, also several that have been rewarding and deeply affirming.

There has definitely been a sense of working things out as we go—the way strip searches have been conducted has been all over the board. Sometimes they have been done by one male staff person, sometimes by one female staff person and several times by several male staff people. Strip searches occur before and after visits, before and after medical trips out, and also when going into the SHU (I had to go there before a medical procedure to fast).

I missed one that was conducted down at the Rec when a fight between inmates was suspected. For the most part, as embarrassing as strip searches can be (they definitely trigger my dysphoria), most staff have been professional about them. There have been some unprofessional remarks made on occasion, though, that have been dehumanizing and dispiriting, but actually have happened a lot less often than I was expecting. A nice surprise. U$A: Eric King Statement for June 11, 2023 EN/ES

Posted on 2023/06/04 by darknights

Greetings comrades. Let me tell you about this prison, the federal supermax ADX [in Florence, Colorado]. In this joint there are different levels and units with varying levels of physical isolation and communication, but there are things we all experience. Everyone is locked down at least 21 hours a day, at max 24. When you have inside rec you are by yourself in a room without a pull up bar. Outside rec cages are 8 x 10 foot dog kennels surrounded by concrete walls and a chain link roof — a cage within a cage. Unless you are in the pre-release unit (K-A) or long-term elder unit (K-B), you will never be in the same room as another person. And even in those units you only come around your ‘group’ — which is one to four other people — for inside rec. The other 22 ½ hours are in your cell by yourself. I have been in C-unit, the discipline unit and K-A; there is one other person in my group.

The cells are sparse. Concrete walls and double doors make any communication between convicts very difficult. Cells feature a low concrete beed, an oddly shitty mattress, a concrete desk, concrete stool, and in some units, a shelf above the desk. You never have solo interactions with staff — you are always double-manned with one of them carrying a steel baton, and you’re always cuffed behind your back. Depending on the unit, you can get 4–10 calls per month. I’ve made two ‘live-monitored’ calls in the past 10 months, but I’m being told that by participating in psychology programs I’ll earn a few calls per month. Time will tell. We’re allowed five visits per month, all non-contact in a concrete booth over the phone. All visits have to be scheduled in advance, which can be difficult with such restricted communication. I’m the only Anarchist here, but I’m definitely not the only political prisoner. Within this prison there is a group of prisoners the US government has attempted to bury. The general abolitionist community has consented to this, and it’s devastating.

The most restrictive unit in the most restrictive prison in America is H-Unit, which is for people on SAMS (Special Administrative Measures). These restrictions are placed by the Attorney General, and they are sickening. SAMS vary per captive, but all entail only being allowed to write to direct blood family and your lawyer. The FBI must read and approve all letters, magazines, and books. Calls are severely limited, live-monitored by the FBI, and reviewed by magistrate judges. These convicts get three showers per week. The vast majority of people on SAMS are Muslim and foreign born. Because their families are in Afghanistan, Yemen, Pakistan, or in Africa, it is nearly impossible to get visits, calls, or mail. These people will never see their families or home countries again. Their children will get married, have kids, grow old, and they will never know it. If that doesn’t make you sick, I don’t even know what we’re doing here. Continue reading “U$A: Eric King Statement for June 11, 2023 EN/ES” →

Dresden, Germany: Antifascist Lina E. Sentenced to More Than Five Years in Prison

Posted on 2023/06/04 - 2023/06/04 by darknights

On Wednesday (31st May), the judgment in the so-called “Antifa Ost” trial was spoken before the Higher Regional Court in Dresden. Several anti-fascists were accused of forming a “criminal association” that is said to have committed attacks against fascist forces. Members of the far right-wing scene in Leipzig, Wurzen and Eisenach are said to have been “brutally beaten up”. The supposed victims were the squads of the young nationalists and the identitarian fascist movement.

Lina E., was accused of being the “mastermind” of the anti-fascist Leipzig group by the Federal prosecutor’s office, who asked for a prison sentence of eight years. She was sentenced to five years and three months in prison for taking part in a series of attacks on neo-Nazis and other fascists over a period of two years.

Three other antifascists, Lennart A, Jannis R and Jonathan M, are alleged to have joined forces with her by the end of 2019. The men were sentenced to between 27 months and 39 months in prison.

Concrete evidence was in short supply during the trial; instead the political conviction of the accused was decisive.

Lina E has been in custody since her arrest on November 5, 2020. The other suspects have remained free.

Among the attacks she was accused of helping orchestrate was a 2020 incident, in which antifascists beat a group of six fascists returning from a ceremony marking the 75th anniversary of the firebombing of Dresden.

The event regularly attracts neo-Nazis and other fascists.

In the run-up to the trial, the accused have always received broad support from the anti-fascist movement. A nationwide demonstration against the persecution of the anti-fascist movement in Leipzig is planned for Saturday (3rd June), which will begin at 5 p.m. in Wolfgang-Heinze-Strasse.
