Chaos Star – Article from Italian periodical ‘Disfare’ about the repression in Indonesia

Posted on 2026/03/16 by darknights

Article from Italian periodical ‘Disfare‘ about the repression in Indonesia, written by Palang Hitam.

Repression and Resistance in Indonesia

In August to September 2025, widespread riots took place in Indonesia across various cities on the Archipelago. It was the largest modern social uprising in the country and it was arguably triggered by the killing of Affan Kurniawan, an online motorcycle courier, who was emblematic of many of the protestors: Marginalized, precarious workers, street people, working and underclasses. Affan was murdered by Brimob mobile brigade police in an armored vehicle, the cops ran him over in front of the crowd in Jakarta. The death happened in the context of an ongoing protest against government corruption, the rising cost of living and police brutality. The killing ignited even greater mass protests, which lead to violent clashes with police and paramilitary law enforcement. Lawmakers and politicians openly mocked the demonstrators, who were only calling attention to immediate social issues that concerned everyone, and pointed to the growing reactionary power of the ex-military regime. Since the riots, the repression has grown even harder.

Starting on August 30, 2025, hundreds of thousands took to the streets in cities including Bandung and Jakarta, demanding not only accountability and justice for Affan, but an end to the entire corrupt political-military-capitalist racket. Anarchist methods and street tactics became widespread, as did anarchist slogans and targets. The government factions, political parties, unions and students associations completely lost control of the narrative. They couldn’t control the anger on the streets and the moment of the revolt was sparked. Many government buildings, corporations, police stations and senior politicians residences were looted and/or burned down. Greece: Eternal Honour to the Anarchist—Member of the Revolutionary Sruggle, Lambros Fountas

Posted on 2026/03/15 - 2026/03/15 by darknights

HONOR FOREVER TO THE ANARCHIST –
MEMBER OF THE REVOLUTIONARY STRUGGLE, LAMBROS FOUNTAS

On March 10, 2010, in Dafni, preparations for a major operation by Revolutionary Struggle aimed at sabotaging the enforcement of the “memorandum” were in their final stages. The attempt to seize a vehicle that the organisation would use for this action resulted in a clash with the cops. Comrade Lambros Fountas, our beloved comrade-in-arms in the struggle, was killed. Nothing would ever be the same again.

The Revolutionary Struggle—the struggle to block the “memorandum,” the struggle to overthrow the ruling regime and bring about social revolution—suffered a severe blow. The organisation had publicly stated that it anticipated the Greek state’s bankruptcy as a consequence of the 2008 global economic crisis and had demonstrated the scale of its actions, primarily through the bombing of the stock exchange in September 2009. It had spoken of its goals and the opportunities that the economic crisis and the widespread delegitimisation of the political and economic system during that period would open up. It had publicly declared that the only way out of the crisis would be a Social Revolution.

A month later, the first crackdown against the organisation took place, along with the arrests.

The death of our comrade was a very significant event. It was significant not only for us, his comrades in Revolutionary Struggle, and not only for the anarchist movement in which he had been actively involved for many years and was particularly beloved by all his comrades. It was not only significant for Revolutionary Struggle, whose activities had been frozen for two years.

Above all, it was significant for the overwhelming majority of society, which was mercilessly battered by the devastating storm of loan agreements. Lambros was an integral part of a strategy of armed action that unfolded with the onset of the economic crisis and sought, through strikes of great political and economic significance, to prevent the political and economic system—which at that time was in a state of great instability and deep crisis—from regaining its stability. Athens, Greece: ‘In the Footsteps of the Struggle: Lambros Fountas Present’ Text by anarchist prisoners Marianna Manoura & Dimitra Zarafeta

In the Footsteps of the Struggle: Lambros Fountas

On March 10, 16 years ago, Lambros Fountas, a member of the Revolutionary Struggle organization, was shot dead by cops. The murder of our anarchist comrade took place during a preparatory action by the organization in Dafni, during an armed clash with police forces.

From its very first days, the anarchist movement has defended and continues to defend the memory and the substance of the actions of the armed fighter Lambros Fountas through marches, events, and actions. The very organization of which he was a member carried out an attack on the Bank of Greece in 2014, dedicating it to the fallen comrade and claiming responsibility under the signature “ Commando Lambros Fountas,” thereby paying tribute to the revolutionary.

As a member of the armed revolutionary organization Revolutionary Struggle, Lambros Fountas chose to act through armed proletarian resistance at a time when the social base was being battered by austerity measures. Measures imposed by the local and international elite to prevent the collapse of the European banking system. And while politicians and media moguls present the memoranda and agreements as “measures of salvation,” we experienced them as cuts to wages and pensions, as a present of destitution and an uncertain future.

The Revolutionary Struggle organization fought against these conditions by targeting the economically powerful and vigorously opposing the measures of the memoranda. It chose to create conditions of political instability, making it harder to bleed the social base dry, leaving behind a great legacy for the international and domestic revolutionary movement. Through actions against predatory “institutions” —the Bank of Greece, Citibank, etc.—, the stock exchange, and the uniformed murderers of the MAT, he defended the armed social revolution, writing new chapters in the book of revolutionary history.

And while I may never have met comrade Lambros Fountas, never gotten to know him, never fought side by side with him. But the thread of revolutionary memory bridges precisely this: fighters, movements, and struggles that, while unfolding in different corners of the globe and across different times and places, shared a common struggle and vision for liberation. Thus, the preservation of revolutionary memory is anything but a neutral process. It is a thorn in the side of oblivion and a crack in the history of the ruling classes. That is why securing it is part of our very struggle, part of the present and the future. That is why, even though the past was stained with blood, our dead managed to fill the inkwell of revolutionary history. And even if we did not walk beside them, we walked alongside them. And even if we did not choose the same path, we gazed at the same skies. Because we shared the same dreams and hopes, we experienced similar fears and rage. Thus, their struggle, the way they acted, and the way they fell serve as a call to arms, a starting point, and a catalyst for new cycles of resistance. And as long as we keep the revolutionary memory alive, we keep our history alive as well. A history built on the smiles and comradely glances of our own people, our own friends, and our own comrades. Just as our comrade Kyriakos Xymiteris did, who fell in battle nearly a year and a half ago on October 31, 2024, in the explosion in Ambelokipi. A comrade who envisioned a world of equality and freedom. A just world, built upon the ruins of the old one.

So, for Lambros Fountas, Kyriakos Xymiteris, and all the other fighters who saw themselves as part of revolutionary history and threw themselves into the fray, it is now our turn to turn their loss into a rallying cry. Let us live up to our history and our responsibilities, and let us see their deaths as a motivation to continue the struggle.

Athens, Greece: Claim of responsibility for incendiary attacks on cops’ houses by Anarchist Cell ‘Lambros Fountas’

Posted on 2026/03/15 by darknights

We claim responsibility for the incendiary attacks on the homes of the MAT unit (riot police) at 12 Athanaton Street in Sepolia, on February 9, where Andreas Poligenis resides, and at 4-6 Teas Street in Kaisariani on February 24, as well as at the home of a cop from the OPKE unit [Crime Prevention and Suppression Unit] at 18 Deligianni Street in Exarcheia on March 7. We dedicate these actions to the memory of our anarchist comrade and member of Revolutionary Struggle, Lambros Fountas, who fell fighting in an armed clash in Dafni on March 10, 2010. Lambros was a exemplary fighter who advanced the multifaceted struggle with social revolution as its goal. He participated in every aspect of anarchist action, from assemblies, marches, and clashes with the forces of repression to revolutionary armed struggle.

The reasons why we carried out the above attacks are self-evident: we are striking back at those who trample on our dreams. To those who rape people at police stations, to those who mercilessly beat up migrants, to those who protect crooks like the “illustrious” Minister of Health, Adonis Georgiadis, who has dismantled the National Health System, to those who crush strikes and marches, such as the one on 10/31 in honor of the anarchist, armed guerrilla Kyriakos Xymiteris. There must be no truce with those who suppress our lives.

We speak the language of social and class liberation, the language of political resistance as a counterpoint to the language of state terrorism, discipline, ruthless exploitation, moral decay, and the dead end of capitalist individualism. We defend direct action and the targeting of those who rule over us and shamelessly contribute to the shaping of this war-torn reality; from the mass media that manufacture fragmented consciousnesses steeped in alienation, bourgeois justice that blindly serves the interests of the economic and political elite, the sweatshops of wage slavery that reek of death, and even the scum of the Greek police with their boundless authoritarian arrogance.

In this current era of fragmentation within social movements, the weakening of the anarchist movement, and widespread apathy and defeatism, we must preserve our political principles intact, make direct confrontation with the enemy our foremost priority until fear changes sides, and externalize our vision for a world of equality, solidarity, freedom, and selflessness.

Anarchist comrade Dena in prison transfer to Kebon Waru prison before trial (Indonesia)

Posted on 2026/03/12 by darknights

Imprisoned anarchist comrade and rapper, Dena (Maditya Dena) a.k.a Apip a.k.a Scoobydoomz, has been transferred to Kebon Waru prison in Bandung from West Java paramilitary police headquarters. This has finally occurred due to his charges being filed with the court. Dena is accused of the destruction of Hana Bank in Bandung, along with comrade Adit, who is also accused in the same case and faces trial. Dena is suffering with health condition related to his HIV+ status and in prison it is difficult to consistently obtain the meds, which costs money. Dena had been kept isolated from the rest of Chaos Star comrades. It is expected that Dena and Adit will face two years or less for the property destruction, however Adit also faces 25 years for the bombing of a police outpost, in an adjacent trial, relating to an action in 2024.

Fire to the prisons! Fire to the state!

Nussir is a mountain, not a mine! – Call to action against the “Nussir mine” beyond liberal environmentalism in Norwegian-Occupied Sápmi

Posted on 2026/03/11 by darknights

1. WHAT IS THIS?

This is a global call to action against the copper-mine currently under construction in Riehpovuotna (called “Repparfjord” by the colonizers), in Norwegian-occupied Sápmi. The Canadian company Blue Moon Metals (BMM) – full owner of the mine’s operator Nussir ASA – is actively involved in the colonization of Sámi ancestral lands through the construction of two copper and precious metals mines in the region. This is part of a rapid expansion of corporate extractivism stemming from the EU’s Critical Minerals Act, as the “Nussir mine” has been named a “Strategic Project,” allowing for large land grabs and cutting through any environmental or Indigenous land protection under the banner of a so-called “Green Transition”. More information on the history of the land and the numerous Sámi-led struggles, can be found in the later sections.

2. WHAT CAN BE DONE?

Besides the Nussir copper-gold-silver project, BMM is currently advancing two other brownfield polymetallic projects, Nye Sulitjelma Gruver (NSG) copper-zinc-gold-silver project in Norway and the BMM zinc-gold-silver-copper project in California. All 3 projects are located within existing local infrastructure including roads, power grids, railways, and/or previous extractivist projects. This makes them desirable for investors, but also more easily accessible for those who wish to intervene.

In December 2025, the first phase of the Nussir-mine project was completed, by detonating an entrance tunnel through the mountain. The next phase entails preparation of surface areas, which means more activity above ground and around the mine. This is a crucial moment, as BMM now depends on much more investments to further pursue their operation. So let’s make this a nightmarish quest! We believe that there is a possibility to win this fight if we broaden our ways of attack and internationalize the struggle. We do not want to define your means or your targets. Do whatever feels in line with your way of acting and existing skills. It could be organizing a blockade, a banner drop, or a solidarity photo, while emphasizing the need for the most materially impactful actions at this time. We welcome your creativity and experience, and hope to see many different approaches on all kinds of platforms.  Continue reading “Nussir is a mountain, not a mine! – Call to action against the “Nussir mine” beyond liberal environmentalism in Norwegian-Occupied Sápmi” →

Cooperating Witness Testimony Contradicts State Case in Second Week of Landmark Prairieland ICE Detention Center Trial (USA)

Defense Case is Vindicated by Testimony from Multiple Cooperating Witnesses, as Prosecution Prepares to Call Controversial Expert Witness on “Antifa”

FORT WORTH, TX – Defendants in the landmark Prairieland trial were vindicated by testimony from cooperating state witnesses over the past three days, in a case that stems from a noise demonstration at the Prairieland ICE Detention Center in Alvarado, Texas on July 4, 2025. The prosecution called to the stand multiple defendants who have taken cooperating plea deals, affirming many of the defense’s key arguments about the case. The cooperating witnesses clearly stated that the noise demonstration was intended to show solidarity with those detained at the Prairieland facility, and not to enact violence, as the state has claimed. The witnesses also reiterated that defendants were not part of a unified group, let alone a terrorist organization. Their testimony also highlighted how conditions inside the jail created intense pressure to accept plea bargains, rather than a genuine admission of guilt.

Cooperating defendant Lynette Sharp’s testimony overwhelmingly strengthened the defense’s case, even though she was called as a witness by the federal government. On Thursday, Sharp continued her testimony from the previous day, when she began to cry while identifying the defendants in the courtroom, stating that they were “her friends,” and “[she] love[d] them.” In a major revelation, Sharp agreed with the defense that no one that night intended to hurt a police officer and instead stated, “From my understanding, it was a noise demo.”

Sharp further testified—contrary to the government’s allegations—that she was not a member of “antifa,” and that the left-wing reading group, the Emma Goldman Book Club, which several defendants allegedly attended, was not used to recruit individuals into “antifa.” Continue reading “Cooperating Witness Testimony Contradicts State Case in Second Week of Landmark Prairieland ICE Detention Center Trial (USA)” →

Release Komar – Stop the Repression (Indonesia)

Posted on 2026/03/11 - 2026/03/11 by darknights

Our anarchist comrade Komar (Muhammad Ainun Komarullah) was arrested by police from Surabaya when he was released from Kebon Waru prison after serving a sentence for instigation related to the Black Bloc Zone blog and Instagram account. The arrest by the Surabaya police is a vindictive revenge against Komar, due to the fierce and humiliating clashes that took place in that locality. Hundreds of young people, delivery drivers, taxi drivers and precarious workers were rounded up in the aftermath of the anti-state uprising and brutally tortured. Police violence cannot hide the fact that the regime uses systematic torture. Let’s not leave this comrade alone in the hands of the police, write to Komar, send solidarity post here:

Tasikmalaya Regency Pipe Bomb Case Begins + Komar is Gate Arrested (Indonesia)

Posted on 2026/03/10 - 2026/03/10 by darknights

10.3.26 : On February 26th, the trial began for another section of the comrades of the Chaos Star Case (Adit, Opal, Pem, Herdi and Hugo [informant]). This case is about a pipe bomb that exploded which destroyed a police post in Gentong, Tasikmalaya Regency in December 2024. The action was claimed by the Free Association of Autonomous Fires. The communique can be found in the Blessed Is The Flame chronicle and was also published on Dark Nights. The action was declared in solidarity with Alfredo Cospito, Nikos Romanos and all anarchist prisoners.

The comrades are being threatened with up to 25 years in prison. The anti-terrorist unit, Densus 88, tortured the comrades badly, including trying to damage their sight. The prosecutors maintain they have everything for a conviction, as well as the words of a snitch, Hugo. On early February 15 police officers from the Criminal Investigation Unit of the West Java Regional Police Headquarters went to Kebon Waru prison because Hugo reported that there was a threat to his life. These are the police that paid him as he coldly smoked cigarettes during the torture of our comrades and gave his “evidence”. All the comrades remain imprisoned in Kebon Waru.

On March 8th, we received the latest information that our comrade Ainun K “Komar” (a Chaos Star prisoner) was supposed to be released from the detention center in Bandung, but was immediately re-arrested by the Surabaya City Police (Polrestabes Surabaya) on suspicion of incitement through the Instagram account @blackbloczone. This new kidnapping comes as Komar has already been imprisoned for five months on the same charge in West Java. The Surabaya police are using the new laws which require less evidence and judicial process to revenge our comrade. Many of the imprisoned comrades are due for release but the tactics of the police bastards have to be confronted. What is particulary ridiculous is the accusation against Komar, is that he is responsible for the mass insurrection which took place in Surabaya, which completely humiliated the police and lead to their facilities being widespread destroyed. Release Komar now!

Bristol Patriots – 40 fascists protected by 200 police

An embarrassing collection of around 40 far-right activists called out by the Bristol ‘Patriots’ attempted to march through Bristol city centre yesterday but were heavily outnumbered by anti-racist counter-demonstrators and had to be protected all the way by a large police operation.

The fascist march, laughingly styled a “March for Unity”, assembled at the Cenotaph on St Augustine’s Parade before attempting to march through Broadmead, Cabot Circus and Castle Park.

However, their mobilisation drew strong opposition from local anti-racist and anti-fascist activists, who organised a counter-demonstration in the city centre and harried them throughout the afternoon.

Anti-fascists block the route

Police deployed more than 200 officers, including mounted units, to protect the fascists, and considerable force was used against anti-fascists trying to block the fascists’ route.

Around 200 counter-protesters repeatedly attempted to confront the march, chanting “Bristol is anti-fascist” and “refugees are welcome here” as the ‘Patriots’ moved slowly through the shopping district.

Their tiny contingent meant that police had to form a protective cordon around them for much of the afternoon.

According to Avon and Somerset Police, six people were arrested on suspicion of offences including violent disorder, assault and obstructing a police officer.

Batons and horses were used to push crowds back when the fascists’ route was blocked off. Continue reading “Bristol, UK: Forty fascists, 200 cops, and a city that wasn’t having it” →
