Athens, Greece: Responsibility claim for coordinated attack in Ano Patissia

Posted on 2026/02/16 by darknights

The daily grind of medieval working conditions, class humiliation and extermination of the proletariat, employer impunity and terrorism, austerity measures that strangle the social base, torture in the hellhole police stations, the hundreds of murders at the borders of Fortress Europe, the destitution in detention centers, the permanent panoptic surveillance and mapping of every movement, the upgrading of repression and the legal arsenal of the state, demands the intensification of social resistance, the breaking of the omnipotence of the state through the spread of polymorphous aggressive actions of social violence directed against this insatiable system that annihilates human life and treats us as expendable, as numbers.

Even more so when this daily routine is stained with the blood of people from our class, with state-capitalist murders committed in the name of profit and greed, as was recently the case with the mass murder of workers at the “Violanta” in Trikala, where five female workers were buried under tons of rubble after an explosion caused by a propane leak, as well as the murder of 15 migrants by port police off the coast of Chios during a violent push-back.

Similarly, the anarchist urban guerrilla Kyriakos Xymitiris, who was killed prematurely while handling explosives in an apartment on Arkadias Street in Ambelokipi, on October 31, 2024, chose to arm himself to fight “this rotten world that feeds on its own flesh,” chose to hold fast to the thread of revolutionary history and devote himself entirely to the Revolutionary Struggle, against complacency and compromise, with steely determination, humility, and optimism.

We, in turn, on the evening of Sunday, 1st February, carried out a raid on targets on Patission Street in Ano Patissia, striking and causing material damage to the windows and ATMs of three banks (Eurobank, Alpha Bank, and Optima Bank), as well as the window of Nova Bank. We dedicate this action to our comrade Kyriakos Xymitiris and to our persecuted comrades in the Ampelokipi case, who have been imprisoned for 15 months. We call for the spread and multiplication of aggressive actions, in view of the upcoming trial for the case.

PS. Solidarity and strength to the comrades in Thessaloniki who have recently been targeted by increased state repression and police arbitrariness, the latest example being the unprecedented number of detentions (over 300) from a concert at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki following attacks on police forces that took place outside the venue.

Athens, Greece: Taking Responsibility For An Incendiary Attack on Five Buses

Posted on 2024/04/23 by darknights
Taking responsibility

In the early hours of Thursday 14/3 we carried out an incendiary attack on 5 buses of the Kanasis private school on Taxilou Street in Zografou area. The result of this was the complete destruction of the buses as well as damage to the building itself. Even at the operational level, the school program was completely disorganised.

First of all, we want to make it clear that we are not in favour of either private or public-state education. The aim of the present educational system is “domestication”, civilizing loyal subjects through the inculcation of the values and principles of the system of domination and the production of disciplined slaves. The way of teaching is completely standardized and sterile, cut off from practical experience, oriented towards the welfare of the techno-industrial system. Every trace of initiative and creativity is neutralized, making it difficult to develop and sharpen critical thinking. Another goal of the educational system is the construction of personalities entirely in harmony with the normative standards and norms implemented through the punishment-reward dichotomy.

School inducts you directly into a predetermined way of life imbued with the misery of routine and is given meaning through wage-slavery. At the same time it forces you to conform to a model of power relations based on the hierarchical figures of teachers and principals who are then replaced by no-good bosses, sleazy politicians, judges, cops, and every privileged pawn on the chessboard. of the system. This is school and the deprived pattern of life it promotes, which perpetuates the alienation of man. In conclusion, the school contributes to the construction of a depraved society made up of docile and easily manipulated citizens who settle for their decadent “life”. For us, these concessions and resignations are what constitute real death.

For these reasons, every school, every university and every educational institution in general should be reduced to ashes.
Additionally, we want it to be understood that we do not share the position of some anarchists who limit themselves to a “struggle” for “rights” granted by the state in order to savour social acceptance and the possibility of gaining political influence within university micro-political circles.

The media immediately created a climate of panic and the police made blind moves that reeked of desperation to appease the social discontent. In particular, they went on an operation to invade the student residences on Olof Palme, bringing in and eventually arresting people who were just staying there. Then, after locating and collecting perfectly legal things, they presented them as possible incriminating evidence and constructed a false picture of an “army” and “hooded yafkas”. At the same time, in Thessaloniki, the police unnecessarily invaded the AUTH, arresting 49 students who were in the occupied university area. So in this way the “regulators of law and order” are praised while their actions are in reality completely fruitless, managing nevertheless to disorient and direct the opinion of the society.

State and capitalist targets are available everywhere, all that remains is to constantly attack them.

UNTIL THE COMPLETE DESTRUCTION OF STATE, CAPITAL, SOCIETY

Thessaloniki, Greece: Responsibility claim for a raid on a MAT (riot cop) bus

Posted on 2024/01/12 by darknights

The constant distortion of reality by the authorities and their sycophants everywhere.

On 22/10/2021 the 18 year old Roma Nikos Sampanis was shot with 36 bullets by the uniformed scum of the DIAS unit (motorcycle cops) in the area of Perama. This was preceded by the torture of Vassilis Maggos, which led to his death, followed by the rape at the Omonia Police Station, while on 22/09/2022 16-year-old Michalis was dragged and abandoned by an police vehicle in Ampelokipi in Thessaloniki, resulting in him breathing his last breath in hospital.

A little over a year after the murder of Sampanis, the 16-year-old Roma Kostas Fragoulis was murdered in Diavata, Thessaloniki on 05/06/2022 with a bullet in the head by a cop of the DIAS unit as he committed the crime of not paying for twenty euros worth of petrol.

On 11/11/2023 shortly before midnight after a chase, the cops once again murdered a Roma minor, 17-year-old Christos Michalopoulos. Two and a half months before, Kostas Manioudakis has left his last breath due to a beating by cops of the Souda police station during a random check. One month after the murder of Michalopoulos, a cop beats and abandons 19-year-old Ayse in the city of Xanthi, killing her.

To these incidents we could add countless beatings, torture, murders, all carried out by the police and silenced by the judiciary and the media.

In the few cases when police violence cannot be hidden, the mouthpieces of the state apparatus are quick to present the obvious as an isolated incident, that it was a bad moment or that the cops were in self-defense or that justice will be decided at a later stage.

It is worth mentioning that they try to throw tons of mud at the murdered person. Whether it is the criminal record, the social group to which they belong, or their political beliefs are emphasised over and over again, implying, where they do not say it outright, that it is a good thing the cop’s hand pulled the trigger. The presentation of the cop-killer is diametrically opposed. A family man with children, hard working for the safety of the citizens, with a social contribution, particularly beloved by the rest of the gang (“Hellenic Police”).

The media narrative changes the times when social revolt erupts and targets the perpetrators of so many murders. Suddenly the value of human life has become the ultimate good and the justly targeted uniformed killers become heroes wounded in the line of duty and unfairly targeted. Those who experience state and capitalist violence in their own skin and at times respond combatively to it are portrayed as brutal criminals with murderous intent.

To the apologists of the police: you and those who settle for the fairy tale you are selling are ridiculous low lives without a shred of dignity and morality.

To put it clearly and succinctly there is no room for doubt, the Greek police operate as a gang of armed potential murderers with complete impunity.

In this context we chose to carry out a raid with Molotov cocktails on 07/12/23 on the MAT (riot cops) bus on Agiou Dimitriou Street at the height of the Agricultural School in Thessaloniki. Continue reading “Thessaloniki, Greece: Responsibility claim for a raid on a MAT (riot cop) bus” →

Thessaloniki, Greece: Responsibility claim for the attack on the MAT platoons inside the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki

Posted on 2022/10/17 by darknights

Just as the sun cannot set from the sunrise, the police forces cannot be on campus. We take responsibility for the Molotov cocktail attack on the platoons at the main entrance of the university in the early morning hours of Saturday, October 1. We took advantage of the advantage provided by the terrain morphology of the field and having an altitudinal superiority we ran the two MAT platoons into flight towards the Egnatia road. With a simple tactical move, which requires excellent timing and discipline, we took them by surprise as they did not notice us until they saw the light of the flame. As soon as we got within range they shouted in panic “COME ON!”, dropping their helmets and shields back. We retreated calmly and without a chase, leaving the platoons to seek their honor among the still burning flames.

Dedicated…

Thessaloniki, Greece: Responsibility claim for a raid on a riot squad of MAT

Posted on 2022/10/17 by darknights

…And life became the biggest lie

There is no police brutality

There are only bloodthirsty protesters in a brutal fury

with the breakneck speed of desperation

the com-mat-asfalites1, the chemical tear gas, the shields.

the helmets, the incubating cages

the snake eggs of the fascist crawling society….

George Tsingos and the Black Circles

Watching the domestic news of the last few months, one will see that despite the social reactions that have developed, the isolation and suppression of the antagonistic movement as well as the imposition of unprecedented social control measures remains a key objective of the Greek state. The gentrification of Exarcheia includes the construction of a metro station in the square, the redevelopment-privatisation of the Strefi Hill and the blocking of access to the Polytechnic and aims to uproot the revolutionary tradition of the area. Similarly, the installation of MAT platoons and all kinds of cops inside the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki aims to sterilize the university premises from any voice of opposition to the bosses. But beyond hitting the movements, the hiring of thousands of new cops, the millions given to equip the police and their constant presence in the public arena on every occasion set the tone of the new social contract. And all this at a time when society is being impoverished anew, with precision pushing those from below to the limits of survival. In a nutshell as Petsas arrogantly informed us adaptation (to capitalist and state dictates) or death.

The effort by the current government to restructure the education system and especially the universities begins the very next day after its election with the abolition of the university asylum. Their pretext was to crack down on lawlessness and instil a sense of security. This was followed by the passing of Law 4777 in the midst of quarantine to avoid major social reactions. The response to those that were manifested was a display of fierceness and brutality. Just a few examples:

  •  the pulling of a gun by a cop at the ΑΣΣΟΕ (Athens School of Economics)
  •  the two evacuations of the occupied rectorate of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in the space of one month in 2021
  • the evacuation of the steki at the Biologcko
  •  the hundreds of injuries, beatings and arrests in the last two years in student mobilizations
  •  the firing of asphyxiant inside the ΣΘΕ (School of Sciences) in broad daylight with hundreds of students and workers trapped inside the building and suffocating
  • the hitting and severely injuring of a student with a flashbang grenade fired at point-blank range
  •  the murderous attack on the crowd attending Thanasis Papakostantinou’s concert during the 3rd Libertarian Festival of Occupied Spaces and Collectives, which almost resulted in people being trampled.

Athens, Greece: Attack upon the offices of University Research Institute of Communication and Computer Systems (EPISY) for their involvement in assisting the investigation of cops and the army (National Technical Univeristy of Athens)

Posted on 2022/07/06 - 2022/07/06 by darknights

In recent times, we have seen the campus of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki turned into a release field for the murderous mania of the cops. Similar incidents of violence will become a daily occurrence in whichever campuses the university police are installed, which in order to get a foothold in the sanctuary will come accompanied by all the forces of the Greek police. This wave of repressive violence is intended to crush any possible resistance to the educational restructuring that has already been passed, namely the exclusion of the social base from higher education, disciplinary measures and the expulsion of students, cameras and controlled entry to schools, the alignment of curricula and research with the interests of capital.

In the wake of this restructuring we see more and more collaborations between Greek universities and military and police services, for whose needs research projects are carried out in the laboratories of the schools. These research projects, which concern border surveillance and the monitoring and suppression of militants, are funded by the EU and NATO to the tune of millions of euros.

In conclusion, within the framework of the European Defense Industrial Development Program, the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the University of Patras in cooperation with the Hellenic Air Force and the Ministry of National Defense conducted the research project <<Project Lottus>> for the design of a drone for the protection of land and sea borders. As a continuation of this project, the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, the Democritus University of Thrace and the University of Thessalias in cooperation with the Hellenic Aircraft Industry will carry out the industrial production of such a drone, which will be made available to Frontex and the coast guard, among others, the agencies responsible for thousands of murders and expulsions of migrants in the middle of the Aegean Sea. Similar research projects have been undertaken by the NTUA, under the EU-funded Horizon 2020 programme. From Jason and Poseidon to Andromeda and Ingenius, the NTUA has been involved time and again with the logistical upgrade of the border guard and the army. Another project that the NTUA has undertaken is Prevision, which promises to be a state-of-the-art tool in the hands of state security. The aim of the programme is to monitor and map individuals with deviant/radical attitudes and views. The coordinator of all these programmes, on behalf of the NTUA, is the EPISY, i.e. the research arm of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering. Athens, Greece: Responsibility claim – Arson of a National Technical University vehicle

Posted on 2022/05/27 - 2022/05/27 by darknights

ANNOUNCEMENT – CALL FOR A CAMPAIGN OF ACTION AGAINST THE UNIVERSITY POLICE

WHY WE BURNED THE OFFICIAL CAR USED BY THE RECTOR ANDREAS BOUDOUVIS FOR HIS INTERNAL MOVEMENTS WITHIN THE UNIVERSITY PREMISES

On May 12, the Council of State effectively upheld the law on the University Police since, as stated in its decision, neither academic freedom nor the autonomy of Higher Education Institutions is violated. The Council of State’s decision argues, inter alia, that there are important reasons of security and public order according to which it is deemed necessary to have the universities guarded by the police. Is the Council of State competent to admonish and defend values such as freedom and morality? Would the Council of State do well to resolve its internal issues first and foremost and leave aside the public security issues at a time when its former Vice-President and President of the Third Department, Panagiotis Efstratiou, is involved in a case of cocaine use and trafficking among minors? We do not expect anything different from the Council of State, the Supreme Court and their courts, which are rife with corruption and scandals, which wash away businessmen, politicians, big business and other scoundrels without a trace of shame at the same time as society is sinking into poverty and misery. The most recent and striking example, moreover, concerns the – beyond all provocation – cover-up of the rapists of Georgia Bika, where the scum of the well-known multinational rushed to cover up in the most blatant way the rape of the militant Georgia. Words are superfluous. An instrument of cynical execution of governmental dictates, the judiciary is humiliated in the courtrooms, the corrupt system rules them undisturbed and the fairy tales about separation of powers just make the big picture even more provocative.Surely the answer for the University Police Corps will not be given by the Council of State. The best and most targeted answer will be given by the student movement itself, the world of struggle, the anarchist and radical space, the parts of the militant left and the part of the progressive space that must finally put a brake on arbitrariness and authoritarianism. We are convinced that a mosaic of actions will unfold in the coming period, from symbolic actions to more dynamic actions that will cancel this bill in practice and why not put on the table the issue of self-organization and subversion not only within the universities but also in the whole society as a whole. Let all the schools be closed with occupations, let students and teachers with basic self-respect abstain from classes, let mass demonstrations take place all over Greece, let all the cops who will staff the new body be targeted. Berlin, Germany: Arson attack on car of prison profiteer SPIE in solidarity with prisoners

Posted on 2022/03/29 - 2022/05/18 by darknights

Wednesday night, March 23, we set fire to a car of the company SPIE in Prenzlauer Berg. SPIE participates internationally in the construction and operation of prisons and other facilities with the goal of total surveillance and control.

Educational institutions, parks, transportation infrastructure, and consumer miles become places of discipline under the electronic eyes and sensors of a mix of private and state security systems. Where people could organize and shape their own lives, where they could resist and simply take what they are not granted under capitalism, companies like SPIE are contributing to the technological assault. Too little is said to the enemies of freedom. Let’s burn down their cars, let’s paralyze their infrastructure!

With this action we declare our solidarity with the persecuted defenders of Biologico and the ungovernability of the University of Thessaloniki, with the imprisoned Thanos Xatziagkelou, Georgia Voulgari, Panos Kalaitzis and Dimitris Hatzivassiliadis.

With Ella and Lina in the focus of German repression and Claudio Lavazza under the control of the French prison system. With all persecuted fighters around the globe.

Thessaloniki, Greece: Arson of the construction Praxis (Πράξις) that demolished the occupation of Biologica by Cores of Immediate Action (Πυρήνες Αμεσης Δράσης)

Posted on 2022/01/08 - 2022/01/08 by darknights

On the morning of New Year’s Eve, numerous repressive forces surround the facilities of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and begin the operation to evacuate the occupation of the Biologica. They invade the hangout(at Biologica) and after the end of the research, they start the demolition works of the area. The renovation project, which concerns the “Investment in education, the acquisition of skills and lifelong learning” and amounts to a cost of 1,320,600 euros, concerns the creation of a sterile waiting area. These are the real needs of academic education: sterile spaces in a landscape deliberately degraded, to create the empty man of tomorrow, a willing servant and ruler in the appeals and interests of capitalist reconstruction.

The repressive gang war of Rector Papaioannou against the squats that belong to the(ΑΠΘ)Aristotle University of Thessaloniki continues. After the evacuation of the Terra Incognita squat in the summer of 2020, the evacuation of the squat on Nikis Street in the past (buildings that remain sealed even today), the uniformed academy proceeds to evacuate and demolish a space inside the university campus that over 3 decades captured what freedom in knowledge, self-education, access without profit and price means. The academic community officially opens its arms to militarism and repression, with the rubbish of the rectory sending its excited thanks personally to Mitsotakis himself. This is the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki:a matrix of collaborators of repression in which the officials of the uniformed Republic are hatched. Sludge like Papaioannou who does not care where he puts his signature and Margaritis who enacts laws to send to cement anyone who actually challenges the state monarchy.

In hostilities we will have the last word…

The government decides to proceed with the surprise of New Year’s Eve and to lay the veil of repression claiming the war fiesta. A few hours later, we go on the counterattack. We take responsibility for the arson attack on the building of the construction company Praxis, at 49 Kromnis Street in Kalamaria shortly before the change of the Year.Praxis is the contracting company that undertook the demolition work of the occupation. We will strike each one individually that accompanies the repression against the liberated territories and the world of struggle.

Our attack is the first reflexive action of practical solidarity in the world of struggle that defends to the end the squatters and the self-managed areas of struggle, solidarity and attack. A message of strength, support and complicity with each comrade and comrade individually who insists on denial, on questioning, on war. You will find us by your side in every moment of conflict, in every roadblock because we are not finished. We are preparing a new cycle of attacks in the war of attrition, organizing new Cores of Immediate Action. And in this war we call on every struggling initiative to take action, sharpening the confrontation quantitatively, qualitatively and operationally.

We respond to war with war.
