L’Oie, Loire, France: Claim of responsibility for arson attack

Posted on 2024/12/05 by darknights

Early this morning, on November 25, 2024, we set fire to the construction machinery of the Charpentier group, particularly those of its public works subsidiary.

The disarming of these machines at the site of L’Oie in Charente is a direct response to this company’s participation in the Mega-Basins projects. Indeed, TP Charpentier is the most involved, whether in Vendée, Charente-Maritime, and of course in Deux-Sèvres. Putting these machines out of commission allows for the concrete halt of ongoing construction sites and serves as a reminder that no one responsible for them is untouchable.

This disarmament is not the first. It takes place in a context where the opposition against the Mega-Basins, its model of water grabbing, and its promotion of agro-industry, has only intensified and deepened for more than three years. This historic struggle has taken a turn by multiplying and diversifying the forms of resistance against these projects. Since then, the movement has continued to expand and demonstrate possibilities to halt the ongoing disaster.

We have marched on these construction sites many times, like on March 25, 2023, when we were more than 30,000 in Sainte-Soline, on a day that will forever be etched in our memories and in our bodies. We have sown crops, uncovered Mega-Basins, made festive incursions, carried out a peasant blockade of the port of La Rochelle, built international alliances, etc. Through these actions, we have made the Mega-Basins sector visible, along with the profiteers who benefit from it. More broadly, we have opened a breach in the fight against agro-industry.

We indeed believe that if the agro-industrial system is a system with multiple tentacles, we can fight it in many places. The mega-basins, the last desperate move of a system in agony, are concrete actions to fight against the appropriation of a common good.
The fight against extractive agriculture is a breach that allows us to reclaim our material and political relationship with food, its conditions of production and consumption. This system destroys our territory, makes farmers disappear, speculates on the fruits of our labor, and actively participates in neo-colonial plundering. Toulouse, France: Solidarity fire with Kyriakos Ximitiris and the prosecuted anarchists after the explosion in the apartment in Ampelokipi

Posted on 2024/12/04 - 2024/12/04 by darknights

In response to the call from the “assembly of solidarity with the imprisoned, fugitive and persecuted fighters” in Athens, on the night of November 17 to 18, 2024, a fire was set to an MT Energies vehicle, a photovoltaic solar panel company. (mtenergiefrance.com).

Whether in France, Greece, or elsewhere, green capitalism allows civilization to consume ever more resources, territories, and lives. Let’s burn it.
Without sharing the revolutionary ideas of Kyriakos Ximitiris and part of his entourage, the hatred against what oppresses us is shared.

Toulouse (Haute-Garonne), France: Spie Batignolle, which works on the A69 and the metro, loses seven trucks

Posted on 2024/11/07 by darknights

La Dépêche du Midi / Monday, October 21, 2024

At least seven trucks burned. A fire broke out on the night of Sunday 20 to Monday 21 October at the Spie Batignolles company in Toulouse, chemin de Gabardie in the Gramont district.

Residents heard explosions coming from the premises of the public works company. Firefighters were called around 4 a.m. for a fire involving 7 dump trucks in the parking lot of the Spie Batignolles company and managed to control the flames. At the height of the intervention, 3 fire-fighting vehicles and 17 firefighters were deployed.

On site Monday morning, the smell of burnt material is persistent. Seven charred wrecks are parked side by side. The front facades of these vehicles are completely charred. A member of the management is appalled: “No doubt it is an arson, we do not wish to say more for the moment.” The company Malet-Spie Batignolles is a regular contractor for highway companies, and it is notably involved in the A69 construction site, which has been denounced by environmental activists.

Given the carcasses still in the parking lot, the fire(s) would have been started at the cabins. The rear of the vehicles was less affected by the flames. The arsonists would likely have used an ignition liquid. Did the fire then spread to the other vehicles? Possible. According to our information, the Spie Batignolles site was under video surveillance and two hooded individuals were reportedly seen on the recordings, entering the construction company’s site around 3:20 AM. Before leaving a few minutes later, as the fire began to spread. Continue reading “Toulouse (Haute-Garonne), France: Spie Batignolle, which works on the A69 and the metro, loses seven trucks” →

Which Countries Supply Arms to “Israel”?

Posted on 2024/02/19 by darknights

As civilian casualties continue to mount in Gaza, global calls for countries to halt arms sales to Israel grow. The United States Senate has approved a bill committing $14bn to support Israel’s war on Gaza this week.

Even before the start of the war last October, the US firmly supported Israel with the supply of military equipment, contributing $3bn annually in military aid. Many other countries provide military support to Israel via arms sales.

Civilian casualties continue to mount in Gaza – currently standing at more than 28,000 dead with thousands more trapped under rubble and presumed dead in just four months of bombardment and ground invasions. The rising death toll is prompting international condemnation.

On Monday, the European Union foreign policy chief, Josep Borrell, commented on US President Joe Biden’s description of Israel’s response to the October 7 Hamas attacks as “over the top”. “Well, if you believe that too many people are being killed, maybe you should provide less arms in order to prevent so many people being killed,” Borrell told reporters.

So which countries continue to send weapons to Israel?

Who supplies arms to Israel?

According to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute’s arms transfers database, 68 percent of Israel’s weapons imports between 2013 and 2022 came from the US.

The US military also stockpiles weapons on the ground in Israel, presumably for use by the US army itself. However, the US has allowed Israel to make use of some of these supplies during the Gaza war.

Besides the US, Israel also receives military imports from other nations.

  • Weapons imported from Germany make up 28 percent of Israel’s military imports. Germany’s military exports rose nearly tenfold in 2023 compared with 2022 after it increased sales to Israel in November, according to figures from the German Economic Ministry. Germany primarily supplies Israel with components for air defence systems and communications equipment, according to the German press agency dpa.
  • The United Kingdom has licensed at least 474 million pounds ($594m) in military exports to Israel since 2015, Human Rights Watch reported in December 2023. These exports included aircraft, missiles, tanks, technology and ammunition, including components for the F-35 stealth bomber used in Gaza.
  • In Canada, dozens of civil society groups have recently urged Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to end arms exports to Israel. The government says it does not send full weapons systems to Israel, but these civil society groups claim it is downplaying the amount of military support it provides. “Canadian companies have exported over $84m [114 million Canadian dollars] in military goods to Israel since 2015,” said Michael Bueckert, vice president of Canadians for Justice and Peace in the Middle East, an advocacy group, adding that the government has continued to approve arms exports since the start of the war.
  • Australia’s foreign affairs minister has said the country has not provided weapons to Israel since the start of the war. However, The Australian Greens party’s defence spokesperson, David Shoebridge, has asked for the government to be more transparent about exactly what items have been exported to Israel, adding that the country has one of the most secretive weapons export systems in the world. Amnesty International has also called on Australia to halt arms sales to Israel and claims the country has approved 322 defence exports to Israel over the past six years.
  • In France, a pro-Palestine demonstration on February 7 called on French companies, including Dassault Aviation, to stop selling arms to Israel. Demonstrators said, according to the Anadolu news agency, “all French companies that sell arms to the Tel Aviv administration are complicit in Israel’s genocide in Gaza”.

Nancy, France: Anarchist comrade Boris convicted on appeal for the fire of two relay antennas

Nancy,Boris convicted on appeal for the fire of two relay antennas

sent to Lille Indymedia 01/22/24 by abc
translated by others a little later

On September 25, 2023, the Nancy Court of Appeal tried again the anarchist comrade Boris (transl. as is customary the word companion is used in the French, which highlights more the sense that everyone is fighting their own struggle), for having burned the relay antenna of the four telecoms operators, as well as that of the cops and gendarmes, in April 2020 on the Mont Poupet (Jura).

Following this attack which had mobilized in full capacity technicians of the Ministry of the Interior until the bottom of the Jura valley to try to restore their communications as soon as possible, the DNA of the comrade had been found on the spot. After months of eavesdropping and surveillance conducted by the Anti-Terrorist Group (GAT) of Dijon and members of the GIGN specially come from Versailles (transl. equiv. to SAS or Special Ops), and as part of an investigation entrusted to the Specialized Inter-regional Jurisdiction (JIRS) of Nancy, Boris had been arrested in Besançon on September 22, 2020.

Incarcerated on remand at the Nancy-Maxéville prison, he will be sentenced at first instance on May 19, 2021 to 4 years in prison, being two years definitely served with a recallable probation of two years (with the obligation to work, to reimburse the civil parties and prohibition on carrying a weapon). Tried without a lawyer and in a court guarded by riot police to prohibit access to all the solidarity companions present on the spot (under the pretext of restrictions related to covid-19), Boris appeals within the following days. He also releases a public letter from behind bars in June, in which he will defend the reasons for this double attack (https://sansnom.noblogs.org/archives/7006)

On August 7, 2021, and while the appeal date had been set for the end of September, a fire in the cell he was locked in seriously hurt him (most notably leaving him paralysed from the neck down). Plunged several months into a coma and prognosed as struggling for his life, his room was guarded by two gendarmes until the lifting of these conditions by the Court of Appeal of Nancy on September 20, 2021. The rest is a long medical journey of the comrade in different hospitals, where he had to continue to fight both against medical authority and other judicial bodies (notably against an attempt to put him under custodianship at the request of the chief physician of the palliative service of Besançon). On the side of the Court of Appeal of Nancy, while the fixing of a date of hearing for the fire of the antennas remained suspended sine die for two years in view of the state of health of Boris, it was in the middle of July of this year 2023 that they suddenly decided to reconvene. For this, they used the vile pretext that the comrade had managed to express himself in video from the hospital before another jurisdiction, in March 2023, in order to successfully inform a judge that he opposed any custodianship (of the State as well as of the family)! France: Black Out. Controversy about meaning and efficiency of sabotage

Posted on 2024/01/10 by darknights

We present the English translation of the French publication ‘Black Out. Controversy about meaning and efficiency of sabotage’

Between February and March 2020, all over the world, heads of state made solemn and grave announcements in order to prepare their populations for what appeared to be a new era : one of war against the virus. Within a couple months, the sabotage of telecommunication infrastructures had almost become a daily event in France, as well as in other European countries. Simultaneously, a debate sprang up within anarchist and radical ecological publications, in particular about the meaning and efficiency of these acts. How could we undermine technological control ? Could we provoke a tipping point within this situation? What scenarios did these sabotages open up ? How could we consider efficiency, organization and ethics altogether? Nowadays, the situation has evolved, but the problems brought up by the following texts remain unresolved, maybe even more so now, and without obvious answers : what are the links between direct action and social or ecological movements? What strategies emerge when we separate or combine anarchist, ecologist and techno-critical perspectives? How do these strategies integrate a now-decisive element : the war in Europe, which will guide and harden the grip of states on their populations.

Firminy (Loire) and Les Ancizes-Comps (Puy-de-Dôme), France: Double attack on Aubert et Duval steelworks, supplier to war industries

Posted on 2023/12/03 by darknights

During the night of November 19th to 20th, we attacked the power supply to two production sites of the Aubert et Duval group:

– At Firminy, we sawed through a pylon on the 220kV line supplying the site. It only partially fell.

– In Ancizes-Comps, we also set fire to a 220kV line, at the point where the high-voltage cables went underground. We were able to get close and place our devices at the foot of the sheaths, without danger.

Aubert et Duval is a key player in the French military industry. It supplies parts for Naval Group submarines, Dassault Rafales and Framatom nuclear power plants.

Our action resonates with the international call for a week of action against all wars, from November 17 to 25, 2023, published in early November (careful, it’s a bit late…) on Iaata.info. We welcome this kind of initiative, and in turn call for an attack on the military industry everywhere and at all times.

What’s certain is that we’ve achieved our goal of hitting the military industry. While we don’t have the means to know exactly how much damage we’ve caused, we do know that these industries know they’re being targeted, and that their weak points are highlighted by our actions.

“Behind the war, ordinary factories”.

As the tag left on the site of an aeronautics factory burnt down in March 2023 in Beauchastel so aptly put it, the war we’re told all day long must end and is unjust, starts here; and is made possible by seemingly innocuous businesses too.

It’s no secret that global conflicts are escalating in intensity. For almost two months, bombs have been falling on the inhabitants of the Gaza Strip, at an unprecedented rate, and with broad political, military and financial support from the United States and most Western countries. The same people who call for a truce, respect for civilians and international law, are producing the bombs that massacre in a way they claim to condemn, there or elsewhere, since several billion people live in war zones; with the horror that this engenders and that we all know about: rape, torture, forced displacement, etc. This hypocrisy would be laughable if it weren’t so macabre.

These wars are the very concrete result of a military-industrial complex, with its factories, laboratories and technicians. In France, the eight major military industry groups – Airbus, Arquus, Dassault, MBDA, Naval group, Nextor, Safran and Thales – are celebrating record sales. Some 4,000 companies work for the defense industry, with the active, ongoing support of the state, which has earmarked a budget of 417 billion euros to increase its killing power and export its arsenal worldwide. Machines of death that are used directly for massacres, as in the case of Dassault fighter jets or Nexter tanks and guns used by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates in Yemen.

We don’t want to remain indifferent to this. We also want to send a message to the workers in these industries. That our actions will deprive them of their work for a while, and make them face up to their responsibilities. We also hope that these acts, and the words we put on them, will help to raise the profile of these most discreet factories of death.

Our thoughts go out to those who fight for their freedom, to those who face repression.

Let’s attack everywhere!

France: ‘La rage, partout’ Responses after the umpteenth police execution

Rage, everywhere

Le Monde / Thursday June 29, 2023

The night of Wednesday June 28 to Thursday June 29 was marked by major tension and damage in many Paris suburbs, with urban violence spreading to other French cities such as Toulouse and Lyon, following the death in Nanterre of Nahel M., a 17-year-old teenager killed by a police officer for refusing to obey orders.

Although calm in the early evening, the situation then became tense in the Hauts-de-Seine suburb, already the scene of clashes between residents and police during the night. More than a dozen cars and dumpsters were set on fire, and barriers were placed on the road, as Le Monde journalists observed. The walls of one building were tagged with the words “Justice for Nahel” and “Police kills”.

At 2 a.m., small, highly mobile groups were still clashing in the Pablo-Picasso district. Police forces had withdrawn and were no longer visible in a part of the housing estate that had come under the complete control of the rioters. The fire department has also retreated, according to our local reporter Luc Bronner.

Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin had announced the mobilization of 2,000 police and gendarmes in Paris and its inner suburbs for Wednesday evening, 800 more than last night.

Incidents were also reported in several towns in the Hauts-de-Seine district. In Clamart, a tramway train was set on fire, according to a police source.

Around twenty communes in Seine-Saint-Denis reported incidents, according to a police source, sometimes in normally quiet towns such as Dugny. According to this source, each time there were groups of less than a hundred highly mobile people on the scene. The Préfecture de Police reported 35 arrests shortly before 2 a.m.

In Essonne, a group of people set fire to a bus at around 9 p.m. after removing the passengers in Viry-Châtillon, according to police sources. Clashes also broke out shortly after 8 p.m. in the Mirail district of Toulouse, where several vehicles were set on fire, with police and firefighters receiving projectiles, according to a police source.

In several areas of Dijon, the authorities reported the burning of rubbish dumpsters and the firing of fireworks. In Lyon and the surrounding area, as well as in Vénissieux, Bron and Villeurbanne, the police were targeted by firework mortars. A fire probably caused by pyrotechnic fireworks broke out in a building in Villeurbanne, leaving four people slightly injured, the fire department said. “Some apartments” were destroyed by the fire and ten households, or 35 people, were rehoused. Four people were also hospitalized with mild poisoning. In Vaulx-en-Velin, the police station was targeted before the police intervened.

Elsewhere, tensions were reported in Roubaix (Nord), Amiens and Nice, according to a police source. Some incidents, as in Saint-Etienne, Lille and Rennes, took place on the edges of rallies in support of Soulèvements de la Terre, the recently disbanded environmental movement.

The security post at the entrance to the Fresnes prison estate (Val-de-Marne) was attacked with fireworks by rioters on Wednesday night, Agence France-Presse (AFP) learnt from a police source.

Videos consulted by AFP show around twenty hooded youths attacking the guard post at the entrance to the estate with firework mortars and various projectiles.
