The Direct Action Cells take responsibility for the attack with an incendiary device at the house of the MP of the New Democracy and journalist of SKAI, Babis Papadimitriou, in Metz in the morning of 6/7. Wanting to honour the real freedom of speech that is persecuted and silenced in the Western countries, we gave the name of Julian Assange to the cell that carried out the action. So that we can recall what it really means to silence freedom of speech with persecution, prisons, courts, when a journalist exposes the war crimes and massacres committed by capitalism.

Babis Papadimitriou belongs to this category of SKAI journalists who redeemed the worm work he did for so many years with a parliamentary seat in New Democracy. The Anglo-Saxon model followed by the SKAI television group in defending New Democracy, as Portosalte had said, has another parameter. The function of SKAI as a political reservoir for future executives and MPs of the New Democracy.

We have mentioned the illusion of security offered by the arrogance of a dominant position of a political official or a big journalist. So now Babis Papadimitriou has crawled out of his house in front of the television cameras to protest against the state’s inability to stop terrorists.

A TV puppet with a consciously argumentative speech, whose persona has been skilfully manipulated over the years by the shipowners who have him on their payroll and the political managers of New Democracy. The similarities with Aris Portosalte are many. After all, together they have marked a period when SKAI was outraged by plaguing the social resistance to the imposition of the memorandum programmes. As a journalistic duo they provoked the anger and disgust towards them from the majority of society. It is no coincidence, moreover, that at the news of the attacks on their homes the social reactions were jubilant from a multitude of people of our class. Athens, Greece: Responsibility claim for incendiary attack on house of the Vice President of the Supreme Court by ‘Revolutionary Solidarity Cell’

For about two months now, comrade Giannis Michailidis has been fighting a dignified struggle from the cells of democracy with the aim of his release by the last resort of a hunger strike. The values of a rebellious life are condensed in the face of the comrade and his choices in the context of the struggle against the tyranny of power highlight the consistency and refusal to submit to the dictates of the state. From the battles at the barricades with the forces of repression, to the expropriation of a bank in a state of illegality, the comrade remains firm in the tradition of anarchists who for two centuries have used every available means in the struggle for freedom.

It is precisely this intransigent attitude that puts him in the crosshairs of the state-judicial complex that chooses his torture and slow death, revealing the true role of bourgeois justice. It is in fact the mechanism for the material and moral extermination of those who resist the capitalist system and the culture it represents.But the comrade is not alone in this struggle, he has by his side all those who actively challenge the rotten establishment.

Thus, in response to the call of revolutionary solidarity and in the context of the coordination of aggressive actions, we take responsibility for the placing of an incendiary device at the house of the Vice President of the Supreme Court Dimitris Krani in the area of Papagos, on July 9. We chose a high-ranking man with a rich career in the judiciary, who went on to become deputy minister of justice in 2019, and decided to make fear his experience as well, by bringing the hostilities to his quiet neighborhood. We were careful to limit the force of the strike to the extent that it would not endanger the two dogs running free in his backyard, because we do not subscribe to the logic of collateral damage. We have therefore sacrificed some of the scope that a larger explosion would have had in the public area, while sending a clear message to him and his colleagues. People’s lives in the big cities have become so empty. People have ended up dragging their carcasses through a daily suffering and a constant despair just to take a picture of a utility bill at the end of the day and post it on social media with digital cries of futility about a world that leads nowhere and a reality that is unbearable for them in the capitalist machine. People’s eyes have been trained to remain glued to the screens with their brain functions losing touch with their emotions, anger, hatred for the degradation of this rotten world, pain for their neighbor, history, memory, nature. People have been trained to watch the world in a digital reality that runs at ever greater speeds and end up being inert beings in this digital consumption without shaping events. And we, among others, somewhere in the margins of Existence of today, humbly trying to keep the flame alive from the eyes of the people we have lost by our side.

In this way we have honored our dead: We carried the incendiary device for our attack on Real as if we were carrying the remains of the dead of the social war. Two years exactly after the death-state murder of Vassilis Maggos we did this action and the spirit of Vassilis was inside us smiling at us.

At dawn on 13/07 we left an incendiary device of small power on the ground floor of the building outside the door of the Real News – Real Fm snitches. After the external destruction of the door, a fire broke out in the upper part of the building through the duct resulting in the total destruction of the premises of Real News and Real Fm, as well as a shipping company located in the same building. Our action was planned in such a way that no human (or non-human) life such as a passerby, resident, animal or worker/employee would be endangered, as it was, even though Mitsotakis and his mouthpieces would wish for the opposite. We therefore recommend that people keep calm and not eat the lies of the state narrative of events raw because as we will explain below, we live in a reality of lies. For any inconvenience to the working sound engineer of the building due to the murderous negligence of her bosses in not making adequate provision for easy egress of the building, we will seek a public apology from her exclusively, saying in retrospect publicly and humbly that our purpose was to make a symbolic attack. After all we knew the specifications of our action and that it would not put an innocent person at risk in a concrete building in front of Kifissias Avenue in Maroussi. And we reiterate that this is a fact already. It is not a theoretical scenario or an intuition in the realm of probability. It is funny the dimensions and magnitude of the lie given around this issue in the mainstream media, indicative that Greece is one of the countries that are hitting rock bottom in terms of freedom of the press since everything is directed as updates from the government’s mouthpiece. Anyway, we are one of those parts of the working class that is fighting its own struggles alongside many other workers and in no way would we want to harm a sound engineer, but only cause material damage to the building at material cost to their bosses. The crocodile tears of the New Democracy fascists for the worker have provoked our above anger with their crude hypocrisy. I wonder if they ever felt any pain for the many employer murders that have occurred recently such as the electrician Christos Zorbas in the HPEIROS industry or the murder of the COSCO dock worker? Hypocrisy, hypocrisy, hypocrisy… that is all that characterises the vulgarity of those in power. And to clarify the landscape, to answer that if we wanted to kill as presented by the “4th power” i.e. the executive organs of the lie of the state, which are the journalists, we would come one morning with a crowd of workers inside the offices and leave the device. But because we simply did not and do not have such a purpose to endanger ignorant people, obviously for all the reasons in the world we did not choose to do so. Athens, Greece: Responsibility claim for incendiary attack on bank in solidarity with G. Michailidis by Anarchists

The anarchist prisoner G. Michailidis has been on hunger strike since 23/5 demanding the release he is entitled to and is already in danger of suffering permanent damage to his health. After the negative proposal of the prosecutor, the judicial authorities prolonged the torture of Giannis, setting the Lamia council that will meet for his release on Monday 25 July, the 64th day of our comrade’s hunger strike.

Alongside the intensifying torture of the captive comrade, the judicial system blatantly confirms its role as a mechanism for the maintenance and reproduction of class power and its culture. It releases the killer cop of the anarchist Alexandros Grigoropoulos, Korkoneas, the serial rapist Filippidis, the petty bourgeois murderer of Zackie, Horteria, acquits the big-time Leventis for the gang rape of Georgia Bika and gives parole to the serial child rapist, director of the national theatre, Lignadis. The message is clear. The bodies of the oppressed have no value against the appetites of the powerful and their praetorians. Those who belong to the ruling classes can murder and violate the bodies of the oppressed and bourgeois justice is there to reward them, to acquit them, to give them extenuating circumstances, to find them unsuspecting of committing new crimes.

On the contrary, comrade Giannis Michailidis is persecuted, tortured and remains indefinitely imprisoned and suspected of committing new crimes. Precisely because he did not use violence against those from below, but instead took up arms and turned them against the ruling classes and their temples. The temples of the reproduction of capital, of the exploitation and enslavement of our lives. The banks, the pillars of the capitalist system of power that for years, in order to maintain themselves at all costs, our lives have been torn apart by wage cuts, unemployment, home foreclosures, economic exclusion and misery.

As a sign of minimal practical solidarity with Giannis’ struggle, as a sign of our solidarity, we mounted an attack on the National Bank of Greece on G. Avxentiou Street in Ilisia, placing an incendiary device and causing damage to the exterior wall and an internal auxiliary room of the bank.

Let us make it clear that we will be, alongside Giannis, once again the cutting edge, which, even if only temporarily, will inevitably penetrate the murderous class that sustains this system of generalized enslavement and exploitation of (human and non-human) nature…

LET FEAR CHANGE SIDES

The Direct Action Cells undertook the incendiary attacks on the homes of the Secretary General of the Greek Police Officers’ Union Evangelos Mantziorou on June 2 in Peristeri and the SKAI journalist Aris Portosalte on June 14 in Vrilissia. Our attacks were carried out in the context of our strategy expressed through the slogan “Fear must change sides”. For the last 1.5 years we have been trying with all our forces to target people who, from their position, staff the Greek capitalist formation. High-ranking police officers, big journalists, government officials, technocrats who plan government policy, judges, have been targeted. At the same time we have carried out incendiary actions against financial and political targets. Our action is aimed at sending a clear message to these puppet masters. Those who from their position participate in the savage attack that capitalism has unleashed on all aspects of our lives are in the crosshairs of the Direct Action Cells.

Their apologetic statements, the terror with which they jump out of bed when they hear the explosions of the devices we place in their homes, the condemnatory statements of the parties and the media, show that we are on the right track. The encouraging comments from our people, our class people, are our strength to carry on. Through our actions we are trying to keep alive the tradition and practice of direct action. To make it clear that our enemies have names and addresses. To prove that our momentum is greater when we become unpredictable and to call on other militants to follow our example.

The choice of the far-right neoliberal university student and his targeting was not the result of a victimhood and a source of disgust caused by his public presence. Aris Portosalte as a persona encapsulates the most extreme aspects of neoliberal discourse in the country and with his shrill voice he challenges and seduces the sympathetic ears of the neoliberal audience. His daily rants are not the opinion of a journalist, as he and those who deplored the attack on his house want to peddle, but the outgrowth of the political footprint of New Democracy in Greece at the cutting edge of its thought and speech production, the media. Like another harlequin, he has taken a leading role in the forefront of far-right propaganda and is doing the dirty work that the ruling party’s political cadres often avoid. Athens, Greece: Incendiary attack of an Alpha Bank branch in Michalakopoulou by ‘Militant Solidarity’

We take responsibility for the placement of 2 powerful incendiary devices on the facade of the bank ALPHA BANK- ABC FACTORS at 48 Michalakopoulou Street, which is located in the same building as AXA Insurance, late on Friday night, July 1. We chose such a central point of the city attempting to send a strong signal of solidarity to Giannis Michailidis who is on hunger strike since 23/5.

In addition, we cannot but comment on the occasion of this action a well orchestrated plan to cover up the solidarity movements in the face of the striker, with the essence of this cover-up being at the very core of Michailidis’ strike. The state administration has kept the strike and many of the actions that accompany it ‘secret’, apparently aiming to de-politicise and end it in terms of defeat and retreat. We stand by the comrade’s side for his release at a time when his health is getting worse by the day. The attack at this moment is a one-way street.

THEIR JUSTICE IS A MISGUIDED DECEPTION

The historical examples of judicial decisions that throw their own children – the whole shipowning dog pack, the ecclesiastical mob, the political establishment and its most prominent straw men – into the mud are numerous. Some do not get the publicity they deserve, others are de-nominated in an attempt to disorientate public opinion and others are simply headlines, infuriating the average person with their neutral texture. Unfortunately, in recent days their judicial time has been very dense and we cannot let it go unattended. All the more so when at the same time the anarchist prisoner Michailidis is fighting at the risk of his own life and claiming the release that – again, according to their own laws – he is entitled to, making his judicial hostage-taking even more challenging. Santiago, Chile: Incendiary attack in Macul and Grecia + Claim of the “Célula Warriache Matías Catrileo”.

On June 10, 2022, at dusk, a group of hooded people leaves one of the existing university campuses in the sector of Macul and Grecia to cut the street, erect barricades and confront the police with firebombs.

On more than a few occasions this year there have been confrontations on that corner as well as in other educational establishments, used as an excuse to propagate the fight against power. Most of the time these confrontations are vindicated by pamphlets and banners, about some aspect of the struggle in particular. This time the comrades sent a communiqué to different pages of counter information from the “Warriache Matias Catrileo Cell” in an open dialogue with other groups of action and urban guerrilla existing in the territory dominated by the Chilean State.

Athens, Greece: Incendiary attack against a National Bank branch in solidarity with Giannis Michailidis

Since 23.5, comrade Giannis Michailidis chose to put his body on the line, starting a hunger strike demanding his immediate release. The comrade has served 3/5 of his sentence and meets all the formal conditions for his release. However, the judicial council vindictively rejected the comrade’s request, using as an excuse that Giannis does not meet the substantive conditions for release as the same council considers him to be a risk of committing new offences.

Class power wants to impose on us a world where ‘danger’ is identified with the vision of a world of equality and solidarity. Where any form of self-determination, self-institution and self-organisation, any attempt to overcome state mediation is considered a crime. The same system that creates and reproduces exploitation, oppression and the culture of power uses itself as regulator and judge. Thus it imposes laws that protect sovereignty, punishments that unfold at the grassroots level. And when the latter realises that if it does not fight it cannot survive and chooses self-defence, the omnipresent regulator puts on its most bloodthirsty face, because at this moment not only is sovereignty threatened but its own role is called into question. This is how his political courts are built. On moments of practical questioning of a devastated world, moments of questioning those who guard it.

Incarceration is nothing but the consolidation of the proletarian condition in contemporary capitalism. Democracy is imposed not only by tactical victories, but also through the constant effort to subjugate those who challenge its rule and fight for their survival through its overthrow. It attempts to bring the resisting parts of society to their knees by burying them in mass repositories of souls, condemning them to a fate of permanent captivity, deprivation and torture. We do not intend to dwell on yet another great political analysis of what is happening today. The time for that is over. All that remains now is our actions. This life is not sustainable. A large part of society knows it and is finding out more and more each day, even if it tries to ignore it or put the blame elsewhere. Pandemic, war, impoverishment. Economic crises on top of economic crises. Depravation of life. The State and capital march unmolested and trample our lives. They have declared war on us. We simply respond with the means at our disposal. We know who stands against us. The State and its minions, the petty bourgeoisie, the nouveau riche, the bosses. We are coming for you! We will attack you until the cops are forced to guard every house, every shed, every car.

But we come these days for another reason. Comrade Giannis Michailidis is on his 16th day of a hunger strike demanding his release. The State vindictiveness he is facing has to do with the unrelenting attitude he has taken all these years inside and outside prison. He is part of an all-out attack launched by the neoliberal Greek State, trying to crush everything that goes against it and stifle all revolutionary memory.

Logics and practices like Giannis’ are the ones that the State wants to keep out of trouble once and for all because in the previous years they created a headache and exposed it. We ought to preserve and adopt them. We ought to create a revolutionary perspective again, make Anarchy dangerous again.

On 27/04 we placed incendiary devices in the offices of the Nea Dimokratia (New Democracy) Pefkis-Lykovrisi, burning them completely outside and a large part inside, essentially closing the office.

We hold this party accountable for a series of actions that form the backbone of the Greek state’s agenda.

Redevelopment-Regeneration-Repatriation-Suppression

From the beginning of its term of office, ND as a government has shown its intentions on the issue of the city. The Athenian centre is constantly being shaped as a luxury showcase for global and European tourism. This process started and accelerated already in the years of the covid-19 boom when hundreds of thousands of euros were given for the construction of the Grand Walk (pet gentrification project of Athens mayor Kostas Bakoyannis). Public space is increasingly occupied by goods and consumers. Universities and spaces that once seemed to be meeting points for movements and collective processes are now being cleared, controlled and mapped with cameras and cops (ΟΠΠΙ, university cops). The state’s attempt to turn the Gini polytechnic into a monument in a move of gentrification is also characteristic. At the same time, student movements are subjected to extreme repression, with typical examples being the pressure in other universities such as the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, as well as the case of the 14 students who are being persecuted under the umbrella of manipulating DNA files. In continuation of the pressure on the anarchist movement with reference to meeting places is the continuous repression of the occupations in the centre of Athens and Thessaloniki.

Of course, along with all the above comes the redevelopment of squares, parks and hills. The criminal collaboration of the state with capital leads to the appearance of construction sites and dust in the squares, security barriers, blocking of work sites, extra security with security and cops and as expected: displacement of the poor, the marginalized, migrant women. Even the few places that the poor, the people from below, the people of our class had to catch their breath, are being forcibly taken away from them. This plan is being carried out all over the centre, from Galatsi and Pagrati to the most migrant neighbourhoods, Kypseli Square, Protomaya Square and soon Exarcheia Square.
