Greece: POPULATION GOVERNANCE THROUGH THE STRATEGIC THEORY OF TWO OR MORE EXTREMES: THE CONTRIBUTION OF LEFTISTS AND ‘ANTI-AUTHORITARIANS’ TO THE CONSTRUCTION OF THIS STATE STRATEGY

Posted on 2023/12/10 - 2024/01/10 by darknights

DN Note: Our collective presents and translates a text written by ‘Assembly against Biopower and Confinement’ detailing a Greek academic who is in alliance with the Greek state, cops and their counter-insurgency tactics against our comrades and any manfestation against the social order. A similar incident in this country of ‘Aufhebengate/Libcom‘ comes to mind when we post this text, how the parasites of academia and its involvement in counter-insurgency, has not only spread to other countries such as Greece, that there is also international co-operation occuring on a far larger scale than before. As seen by the text there is a move to include all theories that are deemed ‘extremist’ and ‘terrorist’ as one emcomapssing threat especially because of their use of violence. Academia is the breeding ground of the new technoligcal shift that has already arrived, collabaration with cops in order to repress our circles is unforgivable and anyone connected to such scum as Rosa Vasilaki are not our comrades.

POPULATION GOVERNANCE THROUGH THE STRATEGIC THEORY OF TWO OR MORE EXTREMES: THE CONTRIBUTION OF LEFTISTS AND ‘ANTI-AUTHORITARIANS’ TO THE CONSTRUCTION OF THIS STATE STRATEGY

or

Do we all hate the police? Not all of us…

(on the occasion of the Event-Discussion in Chamadou entitled “The New World Order of the Far Right” by Asymmetric Threat & Opposition Publications)

“I decided to make an international career as a civilian, because Greece doesn’t fit me. Here is my article on the electoral rise of the far-right, hosted by Jakobin…

(Actually, the truth is that without Rosa Vasilaki’s invaluable help I wouldn’t even have made it to Bitola…)”[1]

Nikolai Polykarpov

One year ago, on 13/12/2022, the “Left-Right Lies Observatory”[2] publishes a video with an interview of former Contra Dystopia member Iason Baggeris on the show of the anti-vaccine cop Telemachus Bossios. We all believed at the time that the denunciation of I. B. by the meth/vaccine activists/vaccinators of the Observatory was done in the name of an anti-authoritarian authority: “we never talk to cops and cops’ associates”. The refutation of this erroneous initial impression was not long in coming. A few months later, on 28 August 2023, the main contributor to the Observatory, Polykarpos Georgiadis (Nikolai Polykarpov), published an article on the “coalescence of left and far-right in Greece” in Jacobin, the magazine of the left wing of the ruling Democratic Party in the US. [3] The publication of the article, as he informed his petty followers in a public post on his online profile, was mediated by Ms. Roza Vasilaki, among other “academic ” collaborators of the Greek Police – the latter of course conveniently for him avoided mentioning it. What happened in the meantime? Did Mr Georgiadis renounce his principles in order to make a face to the American democratic readers of Jacobin? No! As we will show in the following text, these “principles” are simply non-existent. But we will not limit ourselves to that. Because the issue for us is not simply the morally unacceptable or inconsistent behaviour of “anti-authoritarian” or “communist”, but the size and depth of the network of surveillance and repression of “dangerous” political activities that the security mechanisms have set up in Greece. And we will start by first answering the question: well, the “prominent member” of the Class Counterattack, Polikarpos is well-known, but who is Ms. Vassilaki?

Ι. TO WORK OR NOT TO WORK (FOR THE POLICE)?

In broad strokes, R.V. is another career researcher among those who use the language of the state and social movements simultaneously and have knowledge gained from participating in research projects that are at the service of capital, its state and the mechanisms of disciplining labour power and repressing class struggles. As such, it has acquired the capacity to be marketed differently depending on the audience. These days she tends to present herself as a militant researcher of the emergence of far-right discourse in Greece, as she writes in the promotional bio on her personal blog: ‘she has conducted extensive research on the far-right, football violence, religious fundamentalism, immigration and refugee integration, as well as feminism and gender-related issues.’[4]

By this point, one might reasonably wonder where the real problem lies. From the quotation of this autobiography, we seem to be talking about a left-wing researcher, one of many in the academic industry, who is conducting in-depth scholarly research on important issues that inevitably have occupied almost all social movements in recent years. Is there something wrong with all this and with Mr Georgiadis’ collaboration with R.V.? Are we referring to the classic combinations of academics of the antagonistic movement with other “networked” members of the academic community which can provide them with a few extra contacts and some professional and political career opportunities? Are we not referring to the various theoretical all-encompassing “conflict politics workshops”, from which indeed some careerists may later end up in the practical conflict politics workshops of the security apparatus of the capitalist state?

I wish we were just talking about this early stage of a political scientist’s career. In a more explicit, previously posted biography of R.V. on the internet, we read that “she has taught history and sociology at universities in Greece, Israel, and the United States. : we have the feeling that she did not teach anything that glorified the ‘Palestinian resistance’] and in Great Britain” and that her “main research interests focus on the changing place of religion in modernity, the emergence of post-secular and post-Western knowledge and theories, and the manifestations and genealogy of violence in the modern world, such as religiously and politically motivated violence and the particular role of security forces in modern states”. [5] Indeed, her professional activities cover a very broad field that basically centres around counter-insurgency policies and technologies, intelligence gathering and methods of preventing and suppressing activities ranging from youth rebellions to Islamist terrorism. Athens, Greece: Claim for molotov attack on OPKE

Posted on 2023/11/26 - 2023/11/26 by darknights

On Thursday 16/11 we chose to attack the platoon of the notorious OPKE group (Crime Prevention and Suppression Groups, Ομάδες Πρόληψης και Καταστολής Εγκλήματος) at the junction of Navarino and Charilaou Trikoupis streets. The result of the attack was the burning of the vehicle and the injury of some of them. Our attack is both a small crack in the enforced blockade of the area of the annexes by the uniformed scum of the Democracy, and a small reminder that nothing will go unanswered.

50 years after the Polytechnic uprising, 15 years after December ’08, which erupted after the murder of the anarchist student Alexandros Grigoropoulos, the states and the capitalists have launched an attack of unprecedented intensity on the conquests won through blood and struggle. The intensity of the attack is experienced by the most impoverished sections of society who are subject to daily exploitation. The murders in the workplaces and work sites, at the borders, in prisons and police checkpoints are dubbed ‘industrial accidents’, ‘isolated incidents’, ‘shootings’ and occupy a single column in the margin of a newspaper. But they are clearly state and capitalist killings in an environment where our lives are devalued and expendable. In a neoliberal environment where the bosses, whose sole criteria is to increase their profitability, aim the guns of the cops at the disposable, poor, outcasts and petty criminals. The forces of repression have always been the murderous assault battalions of bourgeois democracy. The uniformed murderers have stained their hands with blood, blood that has not yet dried after the recent cold-blooded murder of the Roma Christos Michalopoulos in Voiotia, the murder of Kostas Manioudakis, the attempted murder of the 16-year-old girl B. in Neo Heraklion and the countless beatings of demonstrators, strikers, etc. The natural perpetrators and instigators of the above incidents were men of the OPKE, a gang of murderers and torturers. To remind that no state murder will go unanswered, that the lives of the Roma count, that the blood flows and calls for revolt, interventions like these are an organic duty of every movement, organization, social process that has reference to the cause of social revolution. They are an organic task for the formation of a revolutionary movement so that the projections of social and class self-defence are not empty and heavy-handed declarations but positions of battle that actively challenge the monopoly of state/capitalist violence.

We send militant greetings to the antifascist comrades who have confronted the state and the fascists in the run-up to November 1, striking blows against the common front of cops and fascists, promoting solidarity and comradeship which remain our most powerful weapons.

Good Freedom to the guerrilla and member of the Revolutionary Struggle Pola Roupa and to comrade Kostas Dimalexis.

Solidarity to comrade Polykarpos Georgiadis (trial 13/12) and to those accused of the state frame-up called “comrades”.

Strength to the comrades D.S. and R.Z. accused of attempted explosion in Thessaloniki.

Freedom for Palestine.

Nothing is over, everything continues.

Michalis Kaltezas* Cell

DN Note

*Michalis Kaltezas, the murder took place during demonstrations on the anniversary of the Polytechnic uprising in 1985. The cop Athanasios Melistas shot the 15-year-old student Michalis Kaltezas in the back of the head from a distance of twenty metres as he was running with other demonstrators towards Exarchia Square. Immediately after the death of Kaltezas, anarchists occupied the old Chemistry building on Solonos and the Polytechnic in protest. On the morning of 18 November, the University Asylum Committee, chaired by the rector Michael Stathopoulos, gave permission for the police to enter the Chemistry building. The invasion was carried out with the use of tear gas, for the first time since 1976 and the police arrested 37 people and beat them severly, while a few managed to escape and reach the occupation of the Polytechnic through the sewers. This was the first lifting of the asylum since its official establishment in 1982. The riots in Athens continued in the following days. The cop murderer was sentenced to two years imprisonment, but he appealed and was declared innocent.  Revolutionary organization 17 November attacked a police van to revenge the death of Kaltezas; the attack resulted in the death of a police officer.

Athens, Greece: Responsibility claim for the burning of the Exarcheia Police Station on 4.2.22

Posted on 2022/02/12 - 2022/02/12 by darknights

We take responsibility for the burning of the Exarcheia Police Station on 4.2.22. The attack was carried out by a group of comrades who, armed with the weapons of comradeship and organization, defied police state and succeeded in destroying the myth of omnipotence that the police systematically cultivates in this area. We attacked with more than 10 Molotov cocktails at the outpost and the entrance of the police station, driving the cops outside into disorderly flight.

A few words about the incident

The tragic management of the pandemic, the sweeping changes it has brought about and the developments of the period are revealing of what it has brought about to the social base. Inflation, poverty, energy poverty, the daily deaths from COVID-19 which reach 24,000 are the results of capitalist management in order to recover the profitability of capital.

At the same time, the indirect reduction of wages against the government narrative, the ever greater devaluation of the Ε.Σ.Υ. (National Health Service) are increasingly impoverishing the social base. On the other hand, the cynicism of the rulers is reflected in their statements showing how indifferent they are to the lives of the impoverished.

The recent statements of Mitsotakis: “we may have had 16,000 dead but we saved tourism”, the admission of Plevris: “we have no communism and everything that is commanded is paid for” and the reference of Skertzos that it is a luxury to support the Ε.Σ.Υ. , leave no room for doubt.

At the same time, Development Minister Adonis Georgiades announced the end of the pandemic, at the same time that patients continue to die in beds and the medical and nursing staff, being understaffed, is collapsing from the workload. Thessaloniki, Greece: Taking responsibility for an attack on a bank by Μητροπολιτική Ομάδα Καταστροφών [Metropolitan Catastrophes Group]

6/12 marks the 13th anniversary of the murder of the anarchist student Alexandros Grigoropoulos by the cops Korkoneas and Saraliotis. “Normality” died overnight. The straw that broke the camel’s back led thousands of pupils, students, migrants, workers from all over the country to take to the streets, to violent demonstrations, to mass strikes, to attacks against State and capitalist targets.

December 2008 became the vehicle of an uprising that gave hope to those oppressed and excluded by the State and capital. Overnight, after years of social “stability”, the proletarian riots of December reopened the stakes of social resistance and revolution in post-communist Greece. The 2008 uprising, the occupations, the clashes, but above all the realization that we have nothing to lose and the perception that the enemy is not invulnerable, left an important legacy for the resistances in the decade of repression, poverty and exploitation that followed.

Today, 13 years later, in times of crisis, the State is stepping up its attack on those from below. Having abandoned the public health system in the midst of a pandemic, it has chosen the path of repression. It beats up students, abolishes university asylum, targets squats, bans demonstrations, unleashes a wave of persecution against anarchists and militants without evidence with the sole aim of cutting off any prospect of uprisings in the here and now. Athens, Greece: Taking responsibility for the attack on the Acropolis police station

Posted on 2021/12/05 by darknights

Source: athens.indymedia. Translated by act for freedom now!

On Saturday 27 November we attacked the Acropolis police station with molotov cocktails. At the time of the attack the guard cop and 4 undercover cops sitting in front of the police station, at the sound of the cry “murderers” scampered and hid in the building while we set fire to the guard post and the entrance of the police station.

We haven’t said the last word yet, these are Alexi’s days.

It is not remembrance, or melancholy nostalgia. It is the very idea of rebellion against our oppressors and exploiters. It is the fiery flame of yesterday that drives the gestures of resistance of today.

It is not a desire for repetition, but the very reality of exploitation, death politics, totalitarian control, segregation and total state management of the pandemic.

It is the intensity of oppression, of the suffocating present that arms us with the will, the desire, the strength to attack the state apparatus. It is the December 2008 uprising that fills us with the faith that the situation can and must change, that those from below can come back to the forefront by claiming their own lives.

The murder of comrade Alexandros Grigoropoulos on December 6, 2008 by the cops Korkoneas and Saraliotis sparked an uprising in the whole of Greece. Large sections of society appropriated the slogans, the proclamations and the practices of the anarchist space and took to the streets against everything that oppresses and exploits us.
