There hasn’t been a legal update by us in the past 10 months. Now a lot of stuff is happening again and we are not sure how this will all turn out. What we are sure about is that the enemies of the house are continuing their actions in order to destroy the house. We will not stop fighting them. Here is a brief overview of the legal status of the house right now and the changes which have been going on.
What is the current situation?
Since most of the remaining rent contracts were canceled last summer, the vast majority of the flats are right now without those rent contracts. There are just five rent contracts remaining in the whole house. It seems like our enemies are trying to get rid of the rent contracts bit by bit, in order to create a legal base for a complete eviction of the house.
Court cases that happened in the last months (or didn´t)
Leonid Medved is the “Owner” of Lafone
Part of this change is also that Leonid Medved is now officially listed as owner of Lafone (and therefore R94) on Companys House. He is described as an “individual person with significant control”. It is said that he directly or indirectly holds 75% or more of the shares in the company. (PDF) Medved became registrable as shareholder on 06/04/2016, but the entry note was just published on 25/04/2025. With this first listing in an official document of the company we now have proof of what we have known for a long time.
Info on upcoming eviction court cases
There are a lot of trials regarding our house coming up in September. Besides attempting to get eviction titles for the squatted flats and those who had rent contracts since 1992, Lafone is trying to get rid of the remaining renters of front house by cancelling their rent contracts.
On 17th of September, all of the rented flats of front house will have appeal hearings. The first lawsuits that attempted to cancel those rent contracts were rejected years ago. Aditionally, some of the trials against people who were added to the lawsuits following the raid in October 2021 will happen that day in the same court room. These hearings will happen at Landgericht II.
Also on 17.9., there will be a court case against the Kadterschmiede and Keimzelle. The last eviction lawsuit against Kadterschmiede and Keimzelle was rejected by the Kammergericht. Bernaus appeal against that was declined by the federal supreme court (BGH) in November 2023. In the end of last year, Bernau filed another eviction lawsuit against Kadterschmiede and Keimzelle, starting from scratch.
For all the court cases all the affected parties have to come. That means the accused, but also Lisa Close, the director of Lafone Investments, will be there. Let’s give her a proper welcome!
Call for participation in the court cases
We call for participation in solidarity at the upcoming court cases. The courtcases will be public (bring ID if you want to go inside).

Since a couple of weeks, we have heard from many about the necessity of expressing themselves regarding what is “happening now in Gaza”. Arguments that seem to almost suggest that a new war has started are common even in radical or anarchist circles. Since the break out from Gaza took place, the Palestinian struggle for liberation has been suffering in Germany from being reduced to Hamas’ actions. The German State, political parties, and even sometimes our comrades, are very concerned about how far or close one can be towards Hamas’ ideas. But very little about the historical roots of an asymmetric war that has lasted more than 70 years is brought into discussion by these positions. An ongoing massacre of Palestinian people has been happening since the days of British colonialism, assisted by the establishment of an apartheid regime in an artificially created settler society.
Today, the need to condemn constructed horror stories, even when they have been already denied in the hegemonic media, still prevails in Germany. Instead of listening to voices from Palestine or their exiled communities, there is little resilience to the orientalist discourse that the state and the media are pushing, constructing the image of “the Arab” as the ultimate evil. This dynamic has been present in all so called “Wars on Terror” since 9/11, but it originated long before. Individuals and collectives, who have never been sympathizers of Hamas, today find themselves backed up against a wall, expected to follow the directives of a white german movement. First they must publicly declare their distance from Islamist ideas before being given the space to speak about their own political ideas about liberation from the colonial and fascist oppression of Israel.
The level of violence displayed in Berlin in the last few weeks cannot be explained merely as a reaction to the break out of Gaza. Students can be slapped by a teacher in school, people are facing brutal police violence in the streets, and demonstrations are systematically banned. Although anti-Semitism finds its greatest expressions in this territory, and we see it as our responsibility to fight the multiple expressions of white christian supremacy – be it Aiwagner, AFD, Reichsbürger or others – the German state deflects attention from this by accusing others. The idea of imported anti-Semitism is and remains a way for Germany to find a new demon of history and to push anti-Semitism from itself to Palestine in a historically revisionist way. The results are evident today. With the usual racist agitation, by constructing the idea that Palestinians are anti-Semitic by nature, the German state is trying to divide our class along ethnic and religious lines, as a smokescreen for the division between us and the gun-grabbers who are currently earning a lot of money from Rheinmetall shares.
In order to silence any resistance to the complicity between the german state and the Israel military and its Zionist authorities, the well-known narrative of guilt is utilized, unfolding it like a transparent mantle over the people socialized in the territory controlled by the german state.
Only now, after over 100 years?!
The sea of contradictions in which war is immersed weighs heavily upon us. Since over 100 years, we see images of Palestinian people being murdered by colonial forces. Since over 100 years, we see images of Palestinian people being displaced from their own territories. Since the II Oslo Accord in 1995, we have witnessed how the narrative artillery of peacemaking attacks all forms of self-defense and self-determination, characterizing them as barbaric, zeal-driven, or uncivilized.
We are sick and tired of seeing tons of rubble in Gaza, after decades of bombardments by the Israeli forces. And it is with this feeling that we observe the fences of the biggest prison in the world being torn down. People in Gaza have been subjected to constant violence, violence which we cannot even imagine being inflicted upon our own bodies but have normalized for others. After all, normalizing the oppression of certain people is a necessity of the colonial capitalist world we still live in. This beast needs the colonized to remain silent, to passively obey. The german “left” also loves victims to “care for” to redeem their guilt.
What disturbs some people in Germany today, is not the violence in and of itself, and not all deaths are equally disturbing. We internalize the valuation of the deaths we can put faces to, while we do not care about the faceless ones. We accept the fact that some can mourn for their beloved ones, and bury them, and at the same time we simply accept the disappearance of thousands and thousands. What disturbs some people, mostly the ones in power, is the fact that those expected to remain passive are taking action on a path to liberation, and this is when the system finally shakes. Through their actions, people in Gaza are forcing us in central Europe, to stop navel-gazing and to take a position on their reality. Today, people who should be pursuing the Western developmental ideal, throw in our faces a reality that is at times difficult for us to understand. This gets us out of our heads, forcing us to leave the place of those who dictate discourse, who say what is of interest and what is not, and demands that we draw attention to a reality that we all profit from. Or do we still think that our well-being and economic stability in this country is independent of the slaughter of others in the Global South?
On the morning of the 09.03.2022 cops raided an apartment in Reichenberger Str. in Kreuzberg as part of an ongoing investigation. They had a search warrant for the residence of a comrade who is accused of participating in violent acts against cops in front of our house on June 16, 2021, which was actually the fight against the eviction under the pretext of fire-security. The charge is „very serious case of breach of the peace“ („besonders schwerer Fall des Landfriedensbruchs“). This investigation and warrant is claimed to be based on video identifications by 2 cops from the LKA 641 (PMS). The cops had a warrant to search particularly for clothes, yellow gloves and electronic storage and communication devices. It seems to be the standard to always confoscate electronic devicesno matter the context, so remember to always encrypt all your media and don’t keep anything unneeded around. https://de.indymedia.org/node/179053 [link is dead right now, copy on kontrapolis here].
On June 16, 2021 some hours before the establishment of the „red zone“ by the cops in our street, friends and comrades in solidarity with Rigaer94 blocked the streets in front of our house with burning barricades. The solidariansstayed behind the barricades and occupied several roof corners to defend until the cops had gathered big forces including a water canon and an armored vehicle and surrounded the entire neighborhood. This fight on that day underlinedfor us as a house what a solidarity movement can achieve within moments of state attacks such as the „firesecurityissue“ on June 17, 2021. We defend the legacy that these days left to the struggles by proving the fact that the state indeed is vulnerable and that the political structures are able to counter the attacks on their spaces and ideas. Geisel’s chain dogs are loose again. For the next eviction of Berlin. The demonstrations against the eviction of Köpiplatz mutate into real police parades and any opposition is punished with punches. Helicopters fly circles over Wagenplatz and the neighboring neighborhoods. Cops besiege rooftops and sneak through backyards. The hardliners of the SPD interior administration and their Red-Green allies once again play occupying power to beat the way free for speculators.
The conditions are clear. There is no dialogue with those who beat us up and give the orders for it. The only way is a diverse struggle for housing for those who live in it, for uncontrollable neighborhoods and neighborhoods in solidarity. Against politics and capital, with many on the street or with few decentralized and unpredictable.
Full of rage about the announced eviction and in deep solidarity with the Köpiplatz and the Rigaer94, which is always in the target of attacks, we have in the night of October 12 in the northeast of Berlin the vehicle fleet of the auxiliary cops of the public order office in Alt-Hohenschönhausen by means of incendiary devices transported to the junkyard.

It’s that time again!
“Hamburg expects the world” is the headline of the Hamburger Abendblatt. At the first “World Congress” in Hamburg since the G20 meeting in 2017, refugees from Syria or Afghanistan are of course not expected, no, 12000 experts will meet from 11.10.-15.10.2021 in the Hamburg exhibition halls and the CCH to design a BEAUTIFUL NEW smart WORLD of the future; the focus is on “intelligent” traffic systems, autonomous driving, drones….
We don’t want that future. The supposedly climate-friendly, people-friendly, projects presented here are not to be had without total control and surveillance and are supposed to generate profits as always in capitalism and not too scarce (among other things by reducing the cost factor of workers* but also with all other tried and tested means of capitalism…). To mess up the algorithms, we sabotaged the control technology at the 10 km long test track with fire at three places. We also caused glass to break at FREENOW’s German headquarters on Neumühlen Street.
“Autonomous driving is our future” and for that we need a nationwide 5G mobile network says VW boss Diess, who has recently outed himself as a sympathizer of the party “The Greens”. VW subsidiaries Moia and WeShare are expected to bring in billions in sales in the future. Moia will begin test drives of robot cabs in the Hamburg districts of Winterhude, Uhlenhorst and Hohenfelde in early 2022. In 2025, several dozen autonomous buses are to be on the road. Transport Senator Tjarks with the Green Party wants thousands of autonomous buses, supposedly to push back individual traffic. But they would also have to be cheaper, he says. If at other places personnel are saved or costs on the shoulders of others are turned over, that can be furnished surely. The main thing is to make a profit. The Berlin cops, today, 06.10.2021 at 7am, wearing their dirty trash-bag uniforms and carrying shields full of color from the resistance on 17th of July and armed, raided our political structure and living space, Rigaer94. Once again, as everyday, the servants of the state fulfill their commands and obey to the capital.
The state guarantees the order of the capitalist system, so to squeeze even more profit from people and their living spaces, gain power over every life, destroy any political idea that fights against them and oppress any individual who does not fit to their plans in this capitalistic, patriarchal and racist society. It is clear that the Berlin cops still work with Lafone Investments Ltd. and are their mercenaries, who execute orders of the plan to get rid of Rigaer94 and so to force the gentrification process of Nordkiez, Friedrichshain – after they lost their last attack on us in June this year.
They entered our political structure and house today morning by smashing windows of the side house on 1st floor, destroying once again our doors and even removing the entire wall of one of the flat-doors which was barricaded on the 4th floor front house. They were carrying their useless papers from the court with warrants to identify everyone who is in the house at the moment of entering. They also made drawings of floor plan to check for construction changes. The warrant is based on ASOG. This law makes it easy for the cops to raid and repress political structures and individuals when they want. Officially the aim of the raid is to prepare for eviction trials of all the flats of the house. However, there is no doubt, that the raid is used to weaken our structures and the movement who fights against state and capital, capitalism and gentrification, one week before the eviction of Köpi Wagenplatz (15th October). It is a common tactic which tries to attack and isolate structures and individuals in solidarity with threatened projects, shortly before an announced-planned attack. As it also happened with the eviction of our neighbours L34 last year, when our structure got raided and sieged for some days on July 2020, few months before the Tag-X. Continue reading “(Rigaer94) First statement on the raid of 6th of October, 2021 (Germany, Berlin)”

Even if the smoke after the Rigaer 94 walk-through has cleared a bit in the meantime, this does not mean that the struggles for affordable and decent housing in Berlin and elsewhere have ceased. Many other tenants fear every year anew for their apartment and thus for their center of life. The prospects of finding a halfway affordable apartment in this city tend toward zero for most people with average salaries.
That this fear also has deadly consequences is shown by the death of Peter Hollinger on May 31, 2021. After a three-year, unsuccessful court case against an eviction action due to personal needs, the 67-year-old musician and long-established Kreuzberger killed himself.
This is not the first death in connection with evictions. It is also worth remembering the death of Rosemarie F. , who died two days after her eviction in a Berlin homeless shelter.
In both cases it was clear in the run-up to the eviction which immense pressure and psychological stress the persons concerned had been exposed to and in both cases it was urgently advised against an eviction from a medical point of view. The fatal consequence was accepted in favor of a property issue.
When with the beginning of the 2020 pandemic the voices became louder that landlords should please react “accommodatingly” to possible corona-related payment difficulties and that evictions should please be suspended, we had no illusions about what was actually going to happen.
The eviction of the Mutiny, the Liebig 34 and the Syndicate, as well as the upcoming evictions of the bookstore Kisch&Co, the Köpi and the Potse speak a clear language. What is transfigured in the media as the struggle of autonomists against the city is in reality the logic of a real estate market whose victims are selected not according to political identity but according to economic usability.
The fact that housing has become a commodity and an object of speculation for listed asset managers leaves all those in permanent fear for their existence who are financially unable to pay the constantly rising rents.
That’s why we torched a Vonovia car last night on Einsteinufer in the Tiergarten district.
The pandemic has hardly hurt the housing business. Companies like Vonovia in particular continued to raise rents on a regular basis. The average rent of Vonovia apartments in 2021 is already 3.5 percent higher than a year ago.
We don’t care what lip service companies like Vonovia use to try to gloss over their profit-oriented and anti-human housing policies.
As long as private, listed and thus profit-oriented real estate companies, with a short line to politics, determine our housing and thus our lives, we will attack them.
All humans have own need at dwelling!
Against the city of the rich!
In memory of all who have lost their lives because of this anti-human profit logic!
From: Kontrapolis
Thanks to every support that was developed during the last weeks and especially the last two days of preparation and collective fight against our common enemies, we managed to develop the most intensive fighting days that we could have imagined. Days which turned every plan from the state and capital into a catastrophy. A great reminder to ourselves, our collective and its supporters, how important the movement’s networks, infrastructures of solidarity and self-organisation are.
Starting with the defence of the neighbourhood against the establishment of the red zone we drew the right concequence out of the aggressions of the state and the real estate market, against the people living in the city. The announcement of dangerzones and red zones, where people get easy targets for the police in order to create an atmosphere of isolation and fear, has become normality in this city of the rich. We saw in the last years many occassions where we as those who are targeted by the states attacks had to stand in almost silent protest at the fences, guarded by a militarized police force. Let’s name the eviction of the Ohlauer School in Kreuzberg, the eviction of the Kiezladen Friedel54 and all the other projects as Syndikat, Meuterei and our neighboors Liebig34. This fact can not be tolerated anymore – the people have to rise up!
Therefore, as a result, for more than 48 hours, we managed all together, locally and decentrally to take the offensive into the streets and defend our structures and ideas through militant means and put pressure before the enemies had even started their repressive-operations. We decided not to wait for the lackeys of the state to create another zone where they can easily target autonomous structures and rebellious neighborhoods. That’s why an autonomous zone was build up around the Rigaer94 at an hour the cops did not expect. Streets got closed together with many people and a long-lasting defence of barricades happened, with the means of the autonomous movement . Until the deployment of heavy technical equipment as an eviction tank and two watercanons the police was not able to enter our street. Let’s understand these events as a proposal to the people in the metropolitan field and outside of it, to answer the upcoming attacks. Not only against Rigaer94, also against Köpi and all the other threatened projects and our ideas, as well as any attack of the state and its merely presence.
But the state and capital war is not over yet. They will not only attempt to attack Rigaer94 again but also attack and target every single structure and individual who fights against this suphocated society on a daily basis. We should continue getting organised and expand our networks of solidarity broader. We call for more intensive fighting not only around Nordkiez to reinforce the continuity of this rebellious neighborhood, but also decentrally, in every corner of the city.
Let’s continue fighting all together against the city of the rich. Until every initial plan from the state and capital are ashes!
Friends and comrades of Rigaer94
