Italy: Statement read by Michele Fabiani during the preliminary hearing in the Sibilla proceedings

Statement read by Michele Fabiani during the preliminary hearing in the Sibilla proceedings

Legalitarian rhetoric sees trials as a moment in which truths are established, in which a person endowed with willpower must willingly or unwillingly assume responsibility with respect to malicious episodes. To the point that one is in effect acquitted when it is established that the accused is not of sound mind. I have never believed anything like that in my entire life: I think it is an ideological junk typical of bourgeois liberalism to crush necessity, need, material conditions, personal formation, innate impulses within the concepts of guilt and innocence. But today I want to follow, in the economy of this speech, the commonplace. Not least because today marks the likely beginning of a particular trial, a trial against books and newspapers.

What kind of truth does Operation Sibilla conceal? And what responsibility are the protagonists taking on?

For consistency I start with my own, of responsibilities. I have written articles, I have published and disseminated anarchist press, I have published anarchist books. I published, through Monte Bove Editions, the book Which International? by Alfredo Cospito and many others. And I am so proud of having done that, that just last October-in a deliberately provocative gesture toward the previous preliminary hearing-I printed its third edition.

However, there are responsibilities that will also have to be assumed by those who support the prosecution, in a trial in which the body of the crime are books and newspapers. I say this with extreme sincerity, I just do not understand how the state cannot comprehend such elementary evidence: since the world began, he who is censored, gagged, interned, tortured for his ideas gains popularity and fame from the very action of censorship. Everyone knows who Socrates and Giordano Bruno are, I don’t think anyone in here knows the names of Meleto or Cardinal Giulio Antonio Santorio.

Which side of the story do you sit on?

When it comes to accountability there is one that is greater than all and frankly crushes jurisprudential technicalities. When it comes to truth, I cannot be silent about the most shameful truth of this trial. As we discuss criminal procedure there is an elephant in the room. Right in here.

I just cannot keep quiet about the scandal that there is a co-defendant of mine, a comrade of mine, locked up in 41 bis and connected by video conference. When we talk about truth, no one can deny that this investigation played a central role in the decision to lock Alfredo Cospito up in 41 bis. The minister of justice spoke about it in parliament, chief prosecutor Cantone himself spoke about it during a hearing.

This is a scandal not only because 41 bis is an international disgrace, a torture prison regime to which no one should be subjected. Above all, it is a scandal because we anarchists say things clearly. In this book, Which International?, you will not find a cabal of cryptic messages. The writings of anarchists are not pizzas! Nor will you find orders, because anarchists have no leaders and take orders from no one. Pisa, Italy: Claim of the placement of an explosive device against the courthouse by the Revolutionary Solidarity Group – Home Deliveries / FAI-FRI

Claim of the placement of an explosive device against the courthouse by the Revolutionary Solidarity Group – Home Deliveries / FAI-FRI (Pisa, Feb. 21, 2023)

EXPLOSIVE DEVICE AGAINST THE COURT OF PISA

1 paper bomb filled with black powder + gas cylinder + incendiary bottle with timed trigger

The state, including the democratic state, is the greatest danger to the life and liberty of all living beings. It allows capitalism to flourish by ensuring the stability it needs through its punitive and repressive system. Everything and everyone must submit to its rules for the defense of mastery. Rules that serve to keep society pacified. The ability to conflate with this system of oppression and exploitation is stemmed through prevention, by keeping an eye on and placing in an asphyxiating system of social reintegration anyone who does not comply, and through the courts when thought becomes action, whether it is refusal of work and illegalism or direct action and subversion. Of individuals who choose to stay out of the social peace, there have always been some, so the criminal justice system takes on great importance for the maintenance of the state.

In every court every day hundreds of exploited people are sentenced. At blows of sentences men and women are buried in jails and their relationships of friendship and love mutilated. By blows of explosives structures will be struck and men of power maimed.

For every death at sea, in jail, of labor, in CPRs, not one but 100 bombs to the bosses.

Your cameras and guards sifting the city will never be enough to stop the action from penetrating your buildings.

On the night of Feb. 21, we placed an explosive device in the back door of the Pisa courthouse. We do not know if the deflagration occurred, but we would like to emphasize that this action takes on no small importance: we proved that it is possible to get close to the palaces of power and strike.

To counterterrorism: we know that you are preparing countless arrests for all these months of mobilization. Damn freeloaders, know that the blows of us oppressed will soon reach your hands.

The decisions made by Roberto Sparagna, by former Justice Minister Marta Cartabia, by the Rome Supervisory Court, up to those made by the current Justice Minister Nordio, will have historic importance for the quality of revolutionary violence. Genoa, Italy: Nat, Beppe and Robert also acquitted at appeal trial for Operation Prometeo

Posted on 2023/01/24 by darknights

Genoa Jan. 23 – Nat, Beppe and Robert were also acquitted on appeal for not having committed the act. The three comrades were arrested by Ros carabinieri in 2019 as part of Operation Prometeo, as they were believed to be the authors of package bombs sent in 2016 to two Turin magistrates and the director of the Dap in Rome.

The charge for Giuseppe Bruna, Robert Firozpoor and Natascia Savio was bombing.

According to the indictment, the three comrades allegedly sent the explosive packages, which were intercepted before they were delivered, to Turin prosecutors Roberto Maria Sparagna and Antonio Rinaudo, who were engaged in investigations into the anarchists, and to Santi Consolo, then director of the Dap in Rome. According to investigators, the comrades had met in Genoa and planned and assembled the parcel bombs. Framing them would be one of the envelopes on which a price tag from a Chinese goods store in the Ligurian capital had been left.

This morning outside the courthouse some 20 comrades organized a gathering in solidarity with Nat, Beppe and Robert and Alfredo Cospito. A number of banners were then hung in San Lorenzo Square.

Omar Nioi – Scripta Manent: a political trial against 20 years of history of revolutionary anarchism

Letter – Intervention of the anarchist comrade from Sardinia Omar Nioi

First of all, a greeting to all the comrades who were present in this initiative, a greeting and a special thanks to the comrades who promoted it. To this day, the weaving of international relations, exchanges and comparisons continues, as in the past, to be an essential element and always a living part of revolutionary anarchism, in order to strengthen our intentions.

Scripta Manent:
A political trial against 20 years of the history of revolutionary anarchism

The events:

At dawn on 6 September 2016, 32 comrades throughout the Italian State were awakened by the civil police (DIGOS). The result of the first part of the police operation called “Scripta Manent”, ordered by the Turin Public Prosecutor’s Office through its investigator Roberto Maria Sparagna, is 15 suspects and 7 arrests. On the other hand, an eighth anarchist, in charge of the Anarchist Black Cross publishing project (now closed), is arrested after a house search against him in which batteries and an electrician’s manual were found. In addition to comrades Alfredo Cospito and Nicola Gai, already in prison since 2012 having been tried and convicted for the injury of Roberto Adinolfi, (CEO of Ansaldo Nucleare) action taken by “Nucleo Olga of FAI/FRI”, comrades Alessandro, Marco, Danilo, Valentina and Anna are arrested. For the comrades, articles 270 bis (on association with terrorist purposes), 280 bis (on terrorist acts with lethal or explosive devices) and 285 (on massacre) are triggered for various reasons, which are in question starting from as far back as 2003 and all relating to a series of attacks specifically signed by the “Informal Anarchist Federation” through the cells FAI/Narodnaya Volya (FAI/ People’s Will), “Cooperativa Artigiana Fuoco e Affini FAI/Collaboration of Fire and Artifacts (Occasionally Spectacular))”, “FAI/RAT ((Rivolta Anonima e Tremenda/Federazione Anarchica Informale – Anonymous and Tremendous Revolt/Informal Anarchist Federation)” and “Nucleo Olga FAI/FRI” (FAI/IRF Cell Olga).

Thus, there is the umpteenth investigation of the Informal Anarchist Federation, another attempt to fish in the darkness just to secure a salary, which between the period of investigation and trial, makes as many servants of the State as possible fatten their pockets. During the first months of this operation, the arrested comrades have been subjected to bans on meeting each other, censorship of correspondence, complete isolation and several transfers. In April 2017, the announcement of the closure of the investigation – for those arrested and under investigation in September 2016 – added, in addition to the crimes previously contested, to 12 of the 17 original accused to Article 414 of the Criminal Code (on incitement to commit a criminal act with terrorist purposes) as authors and/or distributors of the work of the Anarchist Black Cross, the newspaper and the blog, making explicit reference to certain opinion articles and other articles from No. 0 to No. 3. With regard to the offence of incitement to crime, the aggravating circumstance of “committing the act by means of computer and telematic tools” is also mentioned. Turin, Italy: Update on the December 5 hearing on the recalculation of sentences against anarchists Alfredo Cospito and Anna Beniamino as part of the Scripta Manent trial EN/IT

IT: Aggiornamento sull’udienza del 5 dicembre per il ricalcolo delle condanne contro gli anarchici Alfredo Cospito e Anna Beniamino nell’ambito del processo Scripta Manent (Torino, 5 dicembre 2022)

Update on the December 5 hearing on the recalculation of sentences against anarchists Alfredo Cospito and Anna Beniamino as part of the Scripta Manent trial

On December 5, the second appeal hearing of the Scripta Manent trial against comrades Alfredo Cospito and Anna Beniamino was held. The general prosecutor asked for 27 years and one month for Anna and life imprisonment without parole with 12 months of daytime solitary confinement for Alfredo, going even further than prosecutor Sparagna’s previous requests, which were 30 years for Alfredo.
The Turin appeals court failed to pronounce the sentence and turned to the Constitutional Court: the Turin judges are asking whether it is legitimate to be forced to disallow mitigating circumstances for Alfredo Cospito because of his previous penal background. Indeed, this would force them to sentence Alfredo to life in prison, although for an action that caused neither deaths nor injuries.
Next December 19 there will be a new hearing in Turin, a formal hearing aimed at working out the question to submit to the Constitutional Court.
Alfredo and Anna intervened with spontaneous statements. Alfredo reiterated that he will continue his hunger strike until his last breath against 41 bis and life imprisonment without possibility of parole, Anna remarked that anyone with a modicum of critical thinking will know how to identify the principals and perpetrators of his comrade’s annihilation. The people in solidarity in the courtroom greeted the accused comrades with slogans and applause.
Shortly afterwards, a demonstration set off through the streets of Turin that, despite the massive deployment of repressive forces, managed to approach the city center, passing through some of the city’s neighborhoods.

Get Alfredo out of 41 bis.
To end 41 bis and life imprisonment without possibility of parole.
Free them all!

Cassation Scripta Manent: some considerations and clarifications

This writing stems from the need to explain to comrades what will happen after the Cassation ruling for the Scripta Manent trial issued on July 6.

Starting with the most serious convictions, the court requalified the explosive attack against the Carabinieri’s student school in Fossano(Cuneo) on June 2, 2006 and claimed by Rivolta Anonima e Tremenda / Federazione Anarchica Informale as a “political massacre” (art. 285 c. p.), referring the case back to the Turin Court of Appeals for a peggiorative recalculation of the sentence with the risk of life imprisonment for comrades Alfredo Cospito and Anna Beniamino.

In addition, all other convictions handed down in the Court of Appeals were upheld with sentences ranging from 2 years and 6 months to 1 year and 6 months for 11 comrades and acquittals for the rest of the defendants.

The convictions and acquittals as of now are final.

Rome, Italy: For an international revolutionary solidarity

“…I think that the new can only come from their collision (of anarchist terrorism and creative anarchy), because life is contrast: rational and irrational, hate and love, everything but the mortal, static “balance”. Harmony is the daughter of “imbalance”, of chaos. “*

Well, what has been hovering for a while has finally manifested itself: on May 5, the anarchist comrade Alfredo Cospito, already detained in the AS2 section [High Security 2; Att.Nt) of the Terni prison, received the notification of the application of the 41 bis against him.
This detention regime, requested by the judges and approved by the Ministry of Justice, with the signature of the Minister Marta Cartabia, as we know, involves: the annihilation of the individual, an extension of the isolation, the deprivation of books, the lack of information and news from the outside world… in short, torture.
