During that week the precautionary measure of preventive detention against both comrades was reviewed and completely rejected by the court.

In February 2019 I signed the declaration that I submitted at a review trial for Operation Scintilla. My responsibility for writing the text is entirely my own. The piece in question presents numerous problems, the most serious certainly that linked to the refusal of the alleged indiscriminate nature of certain practices which unquestionably belong to the history of the anarchist movement. The phrase in question is: “the idea or the will to harm ‘an unspecified number of people’ such as could be office secretaries, employees or passers-by, does not belong to us in any way”.
At the time of elaboration of the text I firmly believed that I was capable of expressing myself, that I was able to take a stand about my life, accept or refuse the accusations and profiles constructed upon me by the prosecutor. I expressed what I thought sincerely, as if I could do that without any problem. As an anarchist individuality I don’t belong to any group or court category, I have my own way of thinking and, reasoning superficially, I said to myself: “why can’t I express it?”.
I got it all wrong. What I was strongly experiencing was just an incredible lack of lucidity, I had naively fallen into a trap. As soon as I was free again, the world, that world which had been my life for years and years, came crashing down on me in all its force.
The comrades who realized my absurd mistake blocked me immediately; thanks to them, and not without anger, I understood what had really happened. No one came and tapped me on the shoulder, certainly I was helped, but my life has drastically changed for the worst. The emotional impact was heavy, and if it might interest anyone, it has rightly catapulted me into deep torment. While power continues to ravage and plunder territories, bodies and souls, we can still count on individuals who do not resign themselves and who, in spite of everything, continue on the tortuous path of freedom.
The capitalist system, now well established, always ready to hide behind the mask of democracy and security, unveils its tentacles a little more each day, which are insinuating themselves into the life of each individual, as well as into the exploitation of the earth, water and air. Those who (finally) realize this and those who are aware of it and have been opposing it for a long time, are immediately beaten and repressed, so that the dirty integrity of the authority that watches over the order and the instituted system is not damaged. Because of this, companions who have always thrown themselves with their tension against the power, see their affinities described as “terrorist associations”, their lives monitored and their freedom limited.
Faced with the current intensification of the exploitation of the weakest and the exploited, the new shaping of the repressive strategies (from the violent repression of the revolts in the prisons to the repression by force of the struggles in the logistic sector, to the permanent persecution of the immigrants, up to the more and more common application of the preventive measures of surveillance) carries its effects, always more incisive and widespread, with the purpose of putting in a corner those who struggle.
From Bologna to Cagliari, Genoa, Turin, Florence and Rovereto, the requests for the application of the Special Surveillance fall as if it were raining. From October 2019, following my injury during the expropriation in a local store of a state casino in Holargos (Athens), I fled the nexus of preventive and criminal repressive control. The side effect of my injury was the discovery of a set of illegal tools of resistance and the revelation of my relationship with the guerrilla organization Revolutionary Self-Defence. Being an outlaw, I made public my political responsibility for the intended reconstruction of the guerrilla struggle, starting with the example of the Revolutionary Self-Defence Organization. Reversing the condition of political isolation of the one who escapes the blackmailing conventions which the state seeks and which serves it (wherever it comes from), I participated to the maximum in the public movement dialogue, with an eye to the evolution of the revolutionary class struggle. The period of exile was a transitional attempt to reposition myself in the global socio-political space of resistance in order to go forward. In the first year, the breaking of deep-rooted barriers was not achieved. I remained trapped in an isolation related to the collective impasses of the Greek movement.
On Monday, August 9, I attempted the expropriation of a bank fund in Pefka area, in Thessaloniki. As I was leaving the area, in a car and having previously ridden a motorcycle, I was stopped and taken prisoner by uniformed state mercenaries who had mobilized to locate and trap the perpetrator of the robbery. My capture is not in the slightest connected with my earlier search by the special anti-guerrilla mechanisms and, more broadly, by police and digital surveillance. Until I said my name, they did not know who they had arrested.
Initially, I was detained at the police headquarters in Thessaloniki (AMET), in the garbage detention centre, together with the other social prisoners. I am now in the underground wing of the women’s prison in Korydallos, which was built 2 decades ago specially for the political prisoners of the repressive operations against the 17N and the Revolutionary People’s Struggle and through which the captured guerrillas of the Revolutionary Struggle organization and the rest of the political prisoners of the most relevant court cases have passed. The political prisoners Dinos Giantzoglou, Christodoulos Xiros and Savvas Xiros are currently in the same wing. The serving of the sentence (16 years) of the expropriation court in Holargos and the case of the Revolutionary Self-Defence Org. has begun.
So far the new case file concerns only the expropriation of the bank and, with the exception of a point of dubious concept (accusation of “use of weapons”), attributes accusations which, according to the ideological codes of bourgeois law, first correspond to acts by which I undertook the expropriation of the bank, the showing of a weapon, the temporary and potentially compensated appropriation of 2 private vehicles as necessary means for the expropriation of the bank and the refusal to be photographed during the pre-investigative phase, as a refusal of consent to the persecuting regime. Although neither the tactical defeats with their serious personal consequences nor their collective and personal background can be hidden, and although I considered a public trial for this specific bank expropriation to be of little importance as a political battleground, I do not recognize the law of what they are historically: a rule of subjugation to idealized class domination. For the political defence of each of my actions and all of them in class and cultural terms, the comrades can refer to the hundreds of pages I have written in the past year and a half. I hope to be able to publish a political account of the latest developments soon.
With the proletarian uprising in the heart, anarchy in the mind, libertarian communism in practice and ecumenical socialist self-government in the program I confirm my presence where a new free world is being conceived.

Dark Nights Note: Dimitris Hatzivassiliadis has been wanted by the Greek police since 2019 accused of involvement for attacks & robberies involving Organisation Revolutionary Self-Defense. Anarchists Vangelis Stathopoulos & D.M. have already been sentenced after being arrested to 16 years and 10 years for the same case, denying any involvement in the organisation.
Organisation Revolutionary Self-Defence took responsibility for an attack on the Mexican Embassy in memory of 20th anniversary of the assassination of anarchist Christoforos Marinos by the E.K.A.M. (Anti-Terrorsist Squad), a hand grenade attack against the French Embassy injuring a cop, two shootings at a MAT riot police outside the PASOK party headquarters in the Exarcheia neighborhood of Athens and are also suspected of an explosive thrown at Russian Embassy along numerous bank and business robberies especially of an OPAP gaming store.
On Monday, August 2, 2021, comrade Francisco Solar, through a simplified trial, assumes responsibility for the graffiti (“MEGA points, the police shoot”) outside the television channel, in the framework of a protest organized by the Coordinadora 18 de Octubre, for the freedom of the prisoners of the revolt.
Recall that on that occasion when he was arrested, on the sly, personnel of the OS-9 took DNA samples from his clothes, to later build the case for which he was arrested along with Monica.
Finally he was sentenced to pay 400,000 that he will have to pay when he is “free”.

THE MYTH OF PROGRESS
Our era is based on the myth of progress, a myth that imposes the attainment of every possibility offered by technological development, without considering the consequences that might result from it. Industrial society, in order to solve the current 
catastrophe and the irreparable consequences of technological development, is giving us digitisation, automation, artificial intelligence, smart cities and objects as the only solutions. Further irreversible damage can only come from technological society, so the starting point must be to radically question it.
A STRANGLEHOLD ON FREEDOM
We only have to look around us to realise that the deterioration of living conditions is progressing at the same speed as the arrival on the market of new technological gadgets. We saw this with the global spread of the Covid-19, when the deep contradictions of this model of society became evident. During confinement, for many people, work, school and sociability took place ‘at a distance’ and digitally. All this happened at a disconcerting speed. Our contacts and movements have been tracked through apps, smartphones and drones. Under the guise of health and safety, the stranglehold on individual freedom was tightened even further.
THE 5G NETWORK
While people were confined to their homes, in many cities the preparatory work for the 5G network was intensified. But what is it? The 5G network is not just a way of using the internet faster. It is much more important. The 5G network is the essential infrastructure for the realisation of the ‘smart planet’: a world of hyper-connected devices that collect and process data and information about the environment and people, a world of machines that are able to solve and constrain all human dreams and needs along predetermined paths. This network will irreversibly transform our perception of the world and the way we live in it. It will invade every aspect of our lives: from work to school, from life in cities to the management of people’s health, from the way we wage war to the exploitation of people and the environment in distant countries. The Glonass system, comparable to the American GPS, is a Russian global navigation satellite system used for tracking and tracing. It is also used as a back-up or support positioning system, which can provide a faster fix and greater accuracy than GPS.
This device was found in our car. It was connected to the power supply of the control unit underneath the steering wheel on the left-hand side and had been placed there with a magnet, insulating tape and a heating cloth. It consists of an antenna (QC in the photo) connected to a multi-frequency positioning receiver box containing a micro SIM card. On the same side, a long cable ran along the inside of the internal side pillar linings of the windscreen to the underside of the roof of the car. All on the driver’s side. At the top of the cable were two microphones.

AN IMMORAL FAIRY TALE
Anarchists read a lot and write even more, perhaps it is because of some excess of bookish culture that we talk about ethics to no end when you trudge to understand it and forget to apply it in everyday life. And… when one realizes the error one has made, one still writes pages and pages (it is not clear whether for private use or for a selected public) of redundant corrections that sound even more shaky and hypocritical than the trial declarations, when not comical in their frantic contradiction.
I don’t enjoy moralizing within four walls, but, noting that certain silences risk being filled by the chatter of others, I think it’s time to address a curious phenomenon of inversion of meaning and referents of discourse, a couple of years old and not yet clarified.
On the occasion of one of the many anti-anarchist repressive proceedings, as a defensive strategy, the defendants, who had been in prison for a month, decided to make spontaneous statements, which were filed for review in February 2019.
Without going into the merits of the content, the first incongruity is that this is done in secret to the comrades, the movement (… this mysterious entity to which we all refer anyway), revealing their political and “ethical” (with all the quotation marks of the case) on attack practices, mode of relations and fields of interest of the movements … only to the magistrates.
Strange, isn’t it?
In my naivety about movement fairness I had grown up hearing a different refrain, something that sounded simple, argue even fiercely but leave foil or cleaver outside the courtroom.
Instead, in step with the times, the moral of the story is different.
The damage is done, and if someone notices, let’s put a patch, or more than one depending on the interlocutor.
I HOPE I GET AWAY WITH IT
The “ethical” compass that is invoked so much becomes a useless burden in trying to stay afloat.
The “confidentiality” after the fact “in the desire not to aggravate the error by adding useful words to the repressors”, in order not to discuss so publicly the subsequent pieces, after having already privileged such an interlocutor, sounds particularly clumsy and serious. Not wanting to throw everything on the net when it has been filed in court is a blatant reversal of values.
To call this juggling between accusations to be rejected with indignation and defense of one’s own immaculate conscience “that oscillating line between technical and political” or to affirm that in the secret of the confessional courtroom “statements of principle” have been made, removing a few pebbles from one’s shoe, only demonstrates how shaky, jelly-like is the base on which the fixed points of one’s own “political” actions rest.
THE HYPOCRISIES ON THE SAFETY
In these times of daily psychopolice, I think we are all (among those who frequent movements and, consequently, courtrooms) aware that our ideas and solidarity between comrades are making us pay with years and years of stolen life and that often repressive operations move on the sounding board, rather than the facts, of the positions expressed in newspapers and publications, on the solidarity expressed and on the vivisection of human relationships.
On the basis of this, we are often called upon to pay attention, to weigh the meaning of every single phrase, of every single slogan. But this must be done in a positive sense, a priori, by weighing the contents (in public and in private) not by fear, a posteriori, of sanction. Otherwise, ethics becomes merchandise for sale, on sale because it is flawed.
ON SUBSTANCE
The first step to take when faced with the facts would be… to make an effort to know them before taking a position, and not only for defensive purposes. Rushing to explain one’s reasons along the lines of an intimidated reading of the charges or of the media hype produces monsters in the worst cases, at best unpleasant hypocrisies and simplifications that only play into the hands of the inquisitors.
Individual responsibility, the rejection of top-down structures and indiscriminate acts are tautological for anarchists: I can decide to repeat them or not in a courtroom based on a number of factors. The basic problem is the harmony with the co-defendants, the solidarity between comrades.
The basic problem is above all the awareness that judges play dirty, we don’t, or at least we shouldn’t, not even with words, which only end up besmirching those who pronounce them thoughtlessly.

In the last years we have witnessed the State and Capitalist tyrants relentlessly try and wipe out and destroy the last few self-organised places and autonomous structures in Berlin.
Attacking with ceaseless eviction of our spaces, dehumanising police tactics and constant repression.
The City of Berlin with its corrupt politicians have chosen to side with the criminals who are selling out the city. Andreas Geisel, Interior minister of Berlin, has supported every eviction with an army of robocops brutally forcing people out of their homes and collective spaces.
On 10th of June the verdict was given to evict Køpi-Wagenplatz. We will defend it with all we have.
We call for every friend, every supporter, everyone who doesnt want to see another unique place destroyed to join us in Berlin to fight the eviction of the Wagenplatz and defend our homes. We will try with as many people possible to stand in the way of the eviction, using barricades, blockades, de-centralized actions and every way imagineable. Let’s take our anger to the streets and let our diversity also be shown in our resistance.
We dont know yet the date of the eviction but think it will be soon. We also expect the police to put a red zone around kopi some days before the eviction, in an attempt to silence our solidarity and isolate us. We call for support from the moment the eviction date is announced, kopi and other autonomus projects in berlin will open thier doors for spaces to meet, discuss, exchange ideas, prepare and plan. Sleeping places and food will be organised for people coming to support. Get in touch with us – we welcome any form of solidarity. Spread the word in your cities and on your streets. Let us come together and show that despite the endless eviction threats and attacks or our way of life, we are still here, and our anger only fuels our strength.
