Filaki- Prison World (english subs) 2007

Posted on 2025/06/30 - 2025/06/30 by darknights

Documentary from Greece about the prison society, its role in social control and the ongoing rebellion against it…

The film focuses on the prison uprisings against the political repression and social war against the comrades in Greece as well as the hunger strikes against the Type-F prisons in Turkey which soon spread to engulf many of the prisons in Greece. These prisons are similar to the Type-C prisons in Greece, the FIES in Spain, the CSC in the UK and other punitive isolation torture regimes around the world.

During the afternoon R.Z. escapes again, for the last time. A detainee shouts to him, ‘How did you do it?’. R.Z answers: ‘From there at the top… you can’t find a way to escape from those walls, because there are other walls beyond… another prison. You must escape from the roof, and head towards the sun. They will never be able to build a wall between the sun and the earth’.

Information about the new prosecution and court case against Lambros & Panagiotis Vougiouklakis and Fotis Daskala (Greece)

Posted on 2025/06/26 - 2025/06/26 by darknights

This is an English-language translation of the following text by comrades Lambros and Panagiotis Vougiouklakis and Fotis Daskalas on Athens Indymedia.

Human dignity is a term we meet in the dictionary, and it defines the choice of a person to act based on solidarity, punctuality, consciousness and the uncompromising struggle against the enemies of freedom.

The history of all hitherto societies is the history of struggles for dignity, a social – class war. Free man or slave, patrician or plebeian, invader or resistance fighter, in one word: oppressor or oppressed, are in constant opposition to one another. A continuous struggle which is expressed either covertly, or openly.

The ruling classes of each age use justice and the legal system to neutralise those who, with their struggle, question the status quo of those above, those who choose to react to the unjust. Justice is but the expression of a power balance, and that is why it was always used to force revolutionaries into silence, to imprison the rebellious, to compel insurgents to renunciation.

Bourgeois justice is the natural result of a society of people who want to deceive as much as possible, since deception is the only path towards power and wealth. Greece: On the case of the bomb explosion in a bank in Thessaloniki where my former co-defendant S. Paraskevaidou lost her life – Fotis Tziotzis

“Lies were told that even they themselves were ashamed, since they were not ashamed of the mouths that told them.”

All these days I have been watching the vile and unsubstantiated ridiculousness from the media slugs.

At first I thought that because of their low intelligence, I thought that these people could not put the facts in the right order. But now I now realize that some higher ups in the system are using them to shape-distort the truth and facts. It is a very dangerous and standard tactic used by the government media to mislead the public and impose their political agenda. Without of course in any way comparing cases, it is the same people who dare to slander the relatives of the victims of Tempi and cover up the case. It’s us they think we’re easy targets they’ll stick to; but are we?

To set the record straight.

  • I have nothing to do with this particular case no matter how much the police and media may have a burning desire to implicate me, and whatever they may try to “cook up” in the future.
  • I will simply report some of their lies to expose their game.
  1. The media keeps saying that during my previous arrest, Snizana was carrying a bag of weapons on my behalf. The truth is that she was acquitted in court as it was proven that she never carried any backpack with weapons.
  2. The media tells about the close relationship I had with Snizana, the visits I made with her in prison and our daily communication. The truth is that both the visits and the telephone communications are recorded, which means that once again they are proven to be lying as there is none of the above.
  3. The media these days are saying and falsely photographing me that I have taken responsibility and sent e-mails, while the truth is that another person has taken responsibility, has already given a statement to the police (Greek FBI) about the incident and has been called to testify to the relevant investigator next week. NOT ME as the media would like.

Now it’s time for me to speak up!

Listen. Pretenderis, Chasapopoule, Panou, Iliou and telecops Balaska and Kaliakmanis. You are pawns and beggars of the euro. You are hunters of one minute of publicity, you are just minions. Know that your bosses may go around with a bunch of puffed up people and eat with golden spoons, throwing you a dry spoon, but at the end of the day you are always alone and expendable. No matter how many labels you put on me, no matter how many catchy nicknames you give me, no matter how many lies and inaccuracies you serve up to the world. You are exposed.

The time for people to believe you is over. The absolution has come to an end.

Someone used to say that whoever sets out to seek revenge must dig two graves. You think you’ve dug mine, but have you dug yours? Or do you think my life is over in prison?

Continue reading “Untuk mengenang Snizana Paraskevaidou, kombatan tak tergoyahkan” →

IT: Onore alla memoria combattiva di Snizana Paraskevaidou

On the 3rd of May 2025, at 5 am in the morning, Snizana Paraskevaidou lost her life because of the premature detonation of an explosive device she was placing outside a branch of the National Bank of Greece in Thessaloniki. The tragic death of this comrade lead to a widespread media terror-lust and so far, two arrests and the search of the cell of imprisoned anarchist comrade Fotis Tziotzis. We recognise and remember Snizana as a fighter and a heroine who died in battle, whose name and life is not forgotten.

In the underbelly of Thessaloniki, life is a brutal struggle. It was for Snizana who came from a Georgian background that emanated from the working-class districts of the city, that emanates the everyday war that we all face there, to climb out of the poverty of the streets. She had the courage to make the fear change sides against the state, against the cops and the wealthy.

Our memories of her are of a female comrade with strength who we met when she was supporting the comrades in courts and in prisons or the moments on the barricades where she emboldened all of us. She was there in Exarcheia rioting until we dropped exhausted in countless battles over a decade. One moment we will always remember is her alongside us all armed to the teeth on the roof of the Thessaloniki university for another 6th December.

It was no surprise to us when she was imprisoned for possession of a kalashnikov.* She knew how to do the essential, how to take the brutality of life and weaponise it. She had the ability to see with open eyes, and she always had time for others, she always cared for fellow comrades. Snizana always had an ear for the next moment of attack, which was directed by her rage against this existent system. An insumountable rage that never compromises, that never snitches, that goes face-to-face with authority with a dagger gripped in the teeth. Even if she fell in the act, she will live on in us.

We didn’t see her for some years. We parted two ways on those streets where we met but we will never let her be forgotten because the insurrection continues. She has inspired us with the same rage to continue it.

For the immediate attack against capitalism, the state and all forms of domination.

Some Individualists & Nihilists

DN Note

*We would like to make a correction, that Snizana was never proven to have been carrying any weapons, she was only accused of it. She was eventually acquited of the charge and was only held by the authorities not actually imprisoned.

Greece: Nikos Palaiokostas, the Ghost, the Greek Robin Hood & brother of Vassilis Palaiokostas has passed away

Posted on 2025/04/26 - 2025/04/26 by darknights

This morning Nikos Palaiokostas passed away at Trikala hospital. Since 2021 Nikos had been released due to health grounds and was able to serve the remainder of his sentence under house arrest in his family home in Trikala, from where he was able to leave twice a week, for dialysis treatment at the hopsital’s Kidney Unit.

Nikos Palaiokostas born in Moschofyto, in the mountains above Trikala, to a large family with a background as shepherds. He was a bank robber, beloved of the anarchist/revolutionary movement, hero of the poor in Greece and the older brother of the still wanted Vassilis Palaiokostas . He operated for several years either with his brother or alone, mainly committing bank robberies and one kidnapping.

After a brief job as a sailor, he quickly began to engage in ‘petty theft’ and ‘burglary’ together with his younger brother, Vassilis Palaiokostas, who in the meantime had begun earlier. In 1988, Nikos Palaiokostas was imprisoned in the prison of Trikala but with the help of his brother Vassilis, he escaped on 18th December of that year. However, on 3rd February, 1990, Nikos was arrested again for theft, while in April of the same year, Vassilis was also arrested for car theft while preparing a plan to help his brother escape again.

Palaiokostas’ acquaintance with Kostas Samaras (known by the nicknames Artist or Butterfly ) in the 1980s was crucial as the three of them began committing bank robberies in various areas throughout Greece. The most famous robbery of these took place in June 1992, when they robbed the National Bank branch in Kalambaka, Trikala, liberating 125,000,000 drachmas, which remains to this day the largest bank robbery in Greece. On 15th December 1995, the Palaiokostas gang carried out the first kidnapping in Greece, kidnapping industrialist Alexandros Chaitoglou from his home in Thessaloniki. The Palaiokostas gang then demanded a ransom of 260,000,000 drachmas for the industrialist’s release. The Chaitoglou family paid the ransom to the kidnappers, with the authorities launching a major manhunt at the time in their attempt to locate and arrest the gang. Only after 3 years of investigations and pursuits, in 1999, did they manage to achieve some results, as after a car accident at the Lamia – Livadia national road, the authorities arrested Vassilis, who was subsequently sentenced to 25 years in prison for the kidnapping of Chaitoglou.

Nikos Palaiokostas is ‘alleged’, according to the authorities, to be the organizer of the first helicopter escape from Korydallos prison of his brother, which took place in June 2006. The story goes, that two people hired a trip on a sight-seeing helicopter from Agios Kosmas, a coastal suburb of Athens. They hijacked the helicopter using a pistol and hand grenade, and forced the pilot to fly to the prison. When the helicopter arrived, guards believed the helicopter was a visit from prison inspectors. The helicopter flew the prisoners to a cemetery nearby, where they transferred to motorcycles and fled from there. Unfortunatly Vassilis was re-captured two years later on 2nd August 2008 in Thessaloniki.

Nikos is again ‘accused’ of the same action in 2009 this time liberating both Vassilis and his cellmate Alket Rizai. They climbed a rope ladder thrown to them by a female passenger in the helicopter as it flew over the prison courtyard. Guards on the ground opened fire and the woman fired back with an automatic rifle. One prison guard injured himself while trying to pull out his gun. Vassilis is still at large with a one-million euro bounty placed on him. His cellmate Alket Rizai was re-arrested in November 2009

Wanted for 16 years, Nikos was finally arrested in 2006, outside the village of Livadi on Mount Parnassos, after falling into a roadblock set up by the Livadia cops. He tried to avoid the roadblock by driving at high speed, but the car he was driving veered off course and went off the road. In recent years, Palaiokostas has been held in the Agios Stefanos prison in Patras. The state took its revenge by sentencing Nikos to 197 years and 376 months.

Nikos showed that we are not pawns of the capitalist system, that all laws of the state are to be broken, that there is no legal or illegal. The rich are only rich because they are left to be, Nikos and Vassilis understood that all that was needed was a trusted few to take it.

Nothing has changed since the Palaiokostas brothers humiliated the state & the rich of Greece. The rich are still rich and getting richer. There is need again and always of another cycle of expropriation, whether it is to fund revolution or to merely live against this existing rotting system of tyranny and inequality.

We will never forget or forgive, Nikos and Vassilis we are with you till the end.

“If you steal something small you are a petty thief, but if you steal millions you are a gentleman of society.”

Read the book ‘A Normal Life‘ for more on Vassilis and his brother Nikos.

Greece: Text of the imprisoned anarchist Kostantinos K. from the Kassavetia prisons

Posted on 2025/04/25 by darknights

Text of the imprisoned anarchist Kostantinos K.

“To govern you is to watch you. To inspect you, to spy on you, to direct you, to encase you in laws, to regulate you, to record you…To control you, to measure you, to weigh you, to censor you, to order you… It means to tax you, to drink your blood… To terrorize you, to beat you, to disarm you, to strangle you, to imprison you, to try you, to condemn you, to deport you…
This is government, this is its justice, this is its morality.”

-Pierre-Joseph Proudhon

As long as we experience modern totalitarianism, as long as the blades of domination cripple us, solidarity will heal our wounds like medicine. Even if they bury us, like seeds we will sprout, here and there, irregularly. In the most barren soils. We will bloom at unspecified times where they least expect it. Contaminating the fields of modern states.

On 12/11/24, I was sentenced to 6 months of pretrial detention. From the first days in prison, I submitted a request for release, which was rejected 40 days later. I submitted a second request and after waiting two months, I received a negative response, while at almost the same time, the case was scheduled for trial on May 2. This, in my opinion, is a ploy, as they rushed to set the court date without me having time to make a third request. Because in this case, for bureaucratic reasons, the procedures regarding the file would cease and therefore the result would be that I would be released due to the end of the term. However, I am quoting this as a note. I believe it is more important to mention what these responses of the judicial councils were regarding my requests. These are 30 pages of unfounded allegations and successive leaps of logic. In them, a ridiculous story unfolds where, given my guilt, they argue that the methodology and characteristics of this action demonstrate a person capable of committing more similar crimes, taking into account my particular personality, which they refer to again and again.

They talk about my disrespect for the authorities, to conclude that I have an overwhelming desire to harm them. They write once again about the books and publications of anarchist content that were found in my house, in order to strengthen the above repeated narrative of the very dangerous anarchist. They even quote part of the text that announced the action of October 11, which I am accused of. At that point, it writes about the beatings of young people by the cops in the city of Messolonghi. After this quote, they initially resort to the frivolous argument that these are incidents that only someone who knows the local police could know about. Claiming in essence that I am responsible for the specific text. Of course, in the second response, this claim is absent. It had been replaced with the equally arbitrary conclusion that I did the deed and bragged about it to third parties in the anarchist space who made the publication in question. All of this confirms how well the judicial scum know how to throw accusations into the air without any substantive basis. On 2/5 I am on trial in Messolonghi for placing an explosive device in front of the AT, facing charges of arson by intent, explosion by intent, possession of explosives and damage to another’s property.

The political background of this case is clear. I perceive this particular persecution as a direct attack on my person and on the way I choose to exist as a political subject. Not as an isolated situation, but as part of the hunt for consciences that the state has unleashed with the aim of crushing every trace of reaction even in thought. The dystopian present is growing. People are being taken to courtrooms because they possess stickers, posters and gadgets. The uniformed thugs of the Greek National Police (ELAS) are bursting into the homes of female students on charges of writing slogans, activists are being remanded in custody under ridiculous pretexts and the pit of repression is deepening. The state is death, it is the robbery of our breath, the debauchery, the suppression of human dignity. Nothing is accidental. This is its essence and it wants us expendable, if not dead.

However, unfortunately for the masters, with great stubbornness bars bend, walls fall, kingdoms crumble. The dynamics of the struggle are not suppressed. I still remember the fearful discussions of the cops who guarded the entire AT (cops station) area during my detention. Then I felt very strongly what it is like for fear to change sides. Nothing is in vain. Every moment of practical questioning of this rotten world is a punch to the body of power, a hammer blow to the knees of bourgeois justice, a blow to the foundations of confinement. Anarchy lives and will pass over them. The small streams of disobedience will transform into a rushing river. The anti-state struggles continue unmediated so that we can breathe, so that we can look each other in the eye, so that we can see the sun brighter, for the cause. Through the streets of denial, a new world will blossom.

A huge thank you from the bottom of my heart to all those who have been involved in any way with my persecution. Your solidarity gives me indescribable strength. Struggle is life and life is in the struggle.

Freedom for the comrades detained in connection with the Ampelokipi case.

Honour to the anarchist Kyriakos Xymitiris.

Athens, Greece: Arson attack on government vehicles

Posted on 2025/04/25 by darknights

In the early hours of March 28, we placed six incendiary devices inside the ΕΥΔΑΠ (Hellenic Water Company) construction site in the Cholargos area, which engulfed state vehicles in flames. We are actively questioning the power of the state and the structure of its sovereignty, trying to weaken it by striking. We remind you that resistance action against the state and capital does not have one front, but many.

In order to achieve our promoted goals, it is necessary to overcome the limits of bourgeois legitimacy.

From the multiple demonstrations, to the extensive clashes with stones and Molotov cocktails in the central Syntagma Square, to the arson of state machinery, we are promoting the revolution everywhere and always.

KYRIAKOS YOU LIVE FOREVER A FIGHTER

Notes on New Anarchy – A talk about the New Anarchy trend by Conspiracy of Cells of Fire, Spyros Mandylas and Cell of Chaotic Strike (2013)

Posted on 2025/04/21 - 2025/04/21 by darknights

The following interviews were given by Spyros Mandylas and Christos Tsakalos (CCF) on events organized by anarchist collectives (mentioned above each interview) and on self-organized anarchist radio 105FM. In addition, a brochure of Cell of Chaotic Strike accompanies the collected speaches. Some parts within the text might sound repetive, exactly because there were similar questions on different interviews. The point of this article, was to collect most of them (if not all), in order to give a clear picture of what New Anarchy is.

—Dubus Dumno

Anarchist Haunt “Nadir”. Thessaloniki 7/12/2013

Spyros Mandylas, member of the meeting of the Anarchist Haunt “Nadir”.

Q: Would you like to start by telling us which political features shape New Anarchy and how it differs from the traditional one? Also, what kind of problems do you spot within the so-called “official” anarchy?

S.M: In those last few years New Anarchy is being discussed quite a lot, this new drift, so it would be right to give a definition as well; what do we mean with this term and what is its difference with traditional anarchy and that what is called the “official anarchist movement”. The “trend of New Anarchy” is what we used to say some time ago, a new anarchy within Anarchy. I believe that’s how it all started. Its main features are anti-societism, the anarcho-indivualist perception, existential analyses, informal organization, direct action – which is a very basic feature, nihilist perception and much more. We will now look into some individual points to better clarify what this trend is, what this thought is. By “anti-societism” we do not mean, obviously, a pogrom against the populations and innocent citizens. Anti-societism speaks of a war that is waged against the state and, at the same time, harshly criticizes society. So what we are saying is this: the rulers and the administrators of power, are given their positions by certain someones; someone elects them and someone tolerates them. For this reason, the “oppressed” citizen is not without responsibilities. This passivity and voluntary slavery is a problematic situation, which should not be left untouched and out of criticism. Now, another important structural difference, in relation to traditional anarchy, is that New Anarchy does not speak of a social catechism; it speaks of anarchist diffusion of ideas. It’s completely different. This new trend is not meant to persuade, but to communicate. New Anarchy does not talk about the revolution, placing it in an indefinite future, but it talks about the present, here and now. New Anarchy presupposes the coupling of theory and practice and does not want clappers, but accomplices. New Anarchy, as I have experienced it, is aimed for minorities. Nowadays, when various means such as strikes, funeral-like marches, symbolic building-occupation and protests are ineffective and act as decompression valves; we do not consider it just a wrong strategy, we consider it stupid to when you call yourself an anarchist, yet fight for better living standards. Anarchy cannot replace the welfare state, nor can it be a kind of union for students and workers as it has become in recent years.

Q: How would you comment on the term “vanguard” that has been attributed to New Anarchy?

S.M: This characterization of the New Anarchy trend has, in fact, been attributed to some others. This characterization is completely wrong in relation to what this new current stands for. I’ll start by saying what I read recently: “Anyone who thinks they know everything is doomed to learn nothing.” What is true is that there is no person, no book and no trend that says how the revolution will take place. The constant revolt does not obey any truth and has no recipe for how this theoretical revolution will take place. This characterization of “vanguard”, I personally, return it to the official movement, which believes that its actions and interventions in various, cinematic, intermediate struggles, will act as a trigger for the social or any other revolution. Anyone who considers themselves a pioneer is arrogant and, therefore, is doomed to stand still in a situation.

Q: You are involved in the part of New Anarchy’s idea-diffusion. How important do you think it is for a bridge to exist between the trends of New Anarchy and why do you think that the state, in addition to armed action, is targeting such actions? An example of this phenomenon is translation networks and the international media. What do you think is their role?

SM: Speaking of New Anarchy, we are essentially talking about a dialectical relationship between theory and praxis, between the public image and the illegal. This relationship is, I believe, a very important part of New Anarchy. This new trend is essentially made up of direct action teams, collectives, blogs, websites and radios, book/brochure publication or translation groups and much more. This tendency, organized on the characteristics of informal organization, affinity groups, internationalist solidarity and having a specific political analysis, is a very significant and difficult opponent for our enemies. Essentially, when we talk about New Anarchy, we are talking about concepts such as “anti-societism”, “anarcho-individualism” … We are talking about an existential analysis and view that goes beyond the stagnation of a class orientation and refers to the sabotage of social relations.

For New Anarchy, revolution is not placed at an indefinite time in the future, but it is demanded in the present, as we believe that mass preparation cannot in any case be one of the preconditions for revolution. New Anarchy speaks of war on the state and harshly criticizes society. It is clear that for the suffering of the oppressed, the oppressed themselves are not without responsibilities. For me, they are a voluntary mass that through various procedures have advocated for their tyranny.

Now, regarding why the state, in addition to armed formations of direct action, is also targeting public structures (translation and publication structures and so on), this is due in part to the fact that it fully realizes the effectiveness of these operations in ongoing anarchism; the uprising. To be more specific, I believe that the state would prefer armed groups, without public speech and presence. As it would also prefer to see the international media become consumed by harmless, theoretical analyses. So when the state sees that there are some bridges between the two, it makes total sense for it to do everything it can to break them down. In practice, we can see this in Italy over the last two years, where we several repressive operations had taken place; in operation “Ardire”, in operation “Shadow”, we saw exactly this thing. We have seen persecution not only against individuals for direct action but also against translation websites. As it happened, for example, with the “Culmine” website and the “Kerveros” publications. This means they’re doing a good job. If half thing is the immediate action, the other half is how it will reach the recipient.

Operation Phoenix, for example, has already counted eight strikes. The four have taken place in Greece and the other four have taken place in Indonesia, Russia and Chile. If it weren’t for all these networks, that didn’t exist before, we wouldn’t have learned anything. So, we notice how they interact together and how much they break down borders. In recent years, a large volume of political texts has been translated from language to language on these sites and translation networks. For example, there, today you will find the book “Armed Joy” by Nadir Publications. At the same time, a week ago, the book “Armed Joy” was published in Indonesian. The books of the Conspiracy of Fire Cores and the Black International are constantly being translated. This is a terrific job, it is very important. Athens, Greece: Responsibility Claim for the bomb attack on the Ministry of Labour and Hellenic Train – Revolutionary Class Self-Defence

Posted on 2025/04/19 - 2025/04/20 by darknights

RESPONSIBILITY CLAIM FOR THE BOMB ATTACK ON THE MINISTRY OF LABOUR AND HELLENIC TRAIN

“Death on the scaffolding, death on the trains, capitalism is fed with blood”

Slogan born in the huge demonstrations of March 2023 for the state capitalist crime in Tempi.

On 26 January 2025 and 28 February 2025 respectively, hundreds of thousands of people demonstrated against the government of murderous anti-worker restructuring and Hellenic Train, a subsidiary of the Italian monopoly Ferrovie Dello Stato, which bears the main responsibility for the murder of 57 fellow human beings in Tempi on 28 February 2023.

The demonstrations and strikes are a contribution to the formation of our collective defence as a Class and at the same time, since they took place in a country that played an active role in the US-Zionist genocidal war in Palestine, a practical act of solidarity with the heroic Palestinian people, who, with gun in hand, are showing the way for the liberation of the peoples of the whole world.

In particular, the strike of 28 February was a response to the rivers of blood that are spilled every day in the labour sweatshops. A response to the unspeakable pain for our fellow workers, our brothers and sisters, our mothers and fathers, our sons and daughters, our friends and girlfriends, lost or crippled in the struggle for a living wage. A response to the relentless class warfare we live every day here.

The massacre of the working class in the workplace as a conscious policy of capital and the state apparatus

The figures for deaths at work, even those given by official state statistics, which do not record a large number of incidents (e.g. of migrants) or show deaths as pathological, are inexorable. In the last three years alone, over 600 workers have died and over 1000 have been seriously injured (amputations, permanent paralysis, severe respiratory and cardiac problems), while thousands of others have been injured in need of medical treatment (with all the multifaceted costs that this entails) in over 40,000 work ‘accidents’. These figures are much higher if we include the hundreds of deaths per year, according to estimates by independent international organisations, from diseases (cancers, cardiovascular diseases) related to unhealthy working conditions (e.g. permanent exposure to chemicals, exhaust fumes), which the Greek state does not even register as such, in violation of international guidelines.

The butchery of the working class in the workplace has a name: it is called class exploitation, the pursuit of maximum profit by capital, the extraction of surplus value. It is called employer terrorism, it is called state policy of strengthening the competitiveness of the labour market, it is called employer trade unionism. It is called memoranda, it is called a policy of reducing public debt, it is called the EU’s fiscal stability pact, it is called the Achtsioglou law, the Hatzidakis law, the Georgiadis law. It is called poverty, unemployment, extortion of survival.

The parliament is a mechanism of class domination. The ministers and deputy ministers, the general secretaries, the technocrats of the Association of Enterprises and Industries, the banks and the shipowners who staff the legislative committees for the drafting of anti-worker laws are well aware of the consequences of the laws they pass. They are fully aware that the abolition of collective labour agreements, compulsory unpaid overtime, six-day work, the slashing of heavy and unhealthy work, the linking of wages to productivity (minimum wage law), the increase in retirement thresholds, the virtual abolition of the labour inspectorate, the criminalisation of strikes and the liberalisation of dismissals, the abolition of basic safety standards, all lead with mathematical precision to an explosion in the number of workers’ deaths and injuries. But that is their job, their role, that is why they are in this position. To shield and reinforce the capitalists’ profitability with the blood of the working class : with the blood of construction workers, shipbuilders and dockers, with the blood of bicycle drivers and train and transport workers, with the blood of call centre and catering workers, with the blood of workers in industry and public works, with the blood of migrant farm workers.

This is precisely why its persons and structures have been in the crosshairs of the proletariat and the revolutionary movement throughout time. From the execution by urban guerrillas in the Nazi occupation of the fascist corrupt labour minister Kalyvas to the bloody battles of the building movement in the 1960s in front of it and the attacks on its structures during the Junta by anti-dictatorship organisations, and from its constant targeting in the post-war period by revolutionary organisations to its militant blockades by workers’ unions.
