Genoa, Italy: Nat, Beppe and Robert also acquitted at appeal trial for Operation Prometeo

Posted on 2023/01/24 by darknights

Genoa Jan. 23 – Nat, Beppe and Robert were also acquitted on appeal for not having committed the act. The three comrades were arrested by Ros carabinieri in 2019 as part of Operation Prometeo, as they were believed to be the authors of package bombs sent in 2016 to two Turin magistrates and the director of the Dap in Rome.

The charge for Giuseppe Bruna, Robert Firozpoor and Natascia Savio was bombing.

According to the indictment, the three comrades allegedly sent the explosive packages, which were intercepted before they were delivered, to Turin prosecutors Roberto Maria Sparagna and Antonio Rinaudo, who were engaged in investigations into the anarchists, and to Santi Consolo, then director of the Dap in Rome. According to investigators, the comrades had met in Genoa and planned and assembled the parcel bombs. Framing them would be one of the envelopes on which a price tag from a Chinese goods store in the Ligurian capital had been left.

This morning outside the courthouse some 20 comrades organized a gathering in solidarity with Nat, Beppe and Robert and Alfredo Cospito. A number of banners were then hung in San Lorenzo Square.

Genoa, Italy: Statement read during the appeal trial for Operation Prometeo in solidarity with Alfredo Cospito

Posted on 2023/01/24 - 2023/01/24 by darknights

We receive and publish:

At the opening of what will likely be the last appeal hearing in the Prometo trial, the defendants present took the floor at the opening of the hearing to read the following brief statement:

“Genoa, January 23, 2023, The question of solidarity, for us anarchists, is fundamental, diriment. That is why today we cannot refrain from taking the floor in this courtroom, knowing that there is someone who is being prevented from doing so. Alfredo Cospito is today on his ninety-sixth day of hunger strike in the prison of Bancali, Sassari, to protest, in the only way he is allowed in the tomb for the living in which he is locked up, against the repressive abominations of 41 bis and hostile life imprisonment. The institutions are all demonstrating their democratic ferocity by entrenching themselves in a muteness that reeks of retaliation and ineptitude. If this, then, is claimed to be a courtroom, no man or woman of conscience should sit idly by, aware that the hands, for Alfredo, are about to stop on the last hour, minute, second, in a prison of this torture-smelling state. A cry should rise where justice was sovereign, real, possible:
AGAINST 41 BIS
AGAINST HOSTILE LIFE IMPRISONMENT
FOR THE IMMEDIATE DOWNGRADING OF ALFREDO COSPITO, FREEDOM.”

Nat, Robert and Beppe

The presiding judge ruled that thirty seconds was too long, and interrupted them after just a few lines. After a brief squabble with the comrade who was reading, in the face of the disinterest that these characters are bringing to bear at all levels of this affair, confirming that a curtain of silence is to be drawn over this story, the fellow defendants and sympathizers decided to leave the courtroom, taking to the streets the story of this morning and the reasons for Alfredo’s protest.

$hile: From Chile to Italy. A loud cry of insurrectional complicity for Alfredo Cóspito (Marcelo Villarroel)

Via & Translated by Act For Freedom Now!

Words of comrade Marcelo Villarroel from prison. From Chile to Italy –
A loud cry of insurrectional complicity for Alfredo Cóspito!!!
Alfredo Cóspito is an anarchist comrade from Turin imprisoned since September 2012 after the kneecapping of Roberto Adinolfi (on May 7), executive director of Italian nuclear company Ansaldo Nucleare. This act claimed by the “Olga” Cell Informal Anarchist Federation / International Revolutionary Front for which he was sentenced to 10 years and 8 months. He was also sentenced to 20 years (first degree), for the explosive attack on the Carabinieri training school in Fossano (Cuneo) on June 2, 2006, claimed by Terrible Anonymous Revolt – Informal Anarchist Federation, which provoked the state response through the operation “Scripta Manent”.

Alfredo has been an anarchist comrade in active praxis for decades. Always consistent with his anti-authoritarian projectuality, he has maintained several antagonistic initiatives for which, even though he has been in prison for more than 10 years, the Italian fascist state does not forgive him.

In May of this year he was transferred to the Bancali prison in Sardinia where he was locked up under the 41 bis extreme isolation regime.

This prison regime was the Italian state’s response in 1992 to the rising violence of the mafia.

Since then, political prisoners of the Red Brigades have also been imprisoned under the same regime. Continue reading “$hile: From Chile to Italy. A loud cry of insurrectional complicity for Alfredo Cóspito (Marcelo Villarroel)” →

Milan, Italy: Statement by anarchist Dayvid Ceccarelli in solidarity with Alfredo Cospito on hunger strike to the bitter end

Posted on 2023/01/21 by darknights

The following text is the statement read by comrade Dayvid Ceccarelli in the courtroom in the Milan courthouse on Dec. 2, 2022, during the hearing of the “Rompere il silenzio” trial, and given as the reason for not returning from the air for an hour in San Vittore, in solidarity with Alfredo Cospito on hunger strike to the bitter end, starting Oct. 20, against 41 bis and hostile life imprisonment.

Statement by anarchist Dayvid Ceccarelli in solidarity with Alfredo Cospito on hunger strike to the bitter end (Milan, Dec. 2, 2022)

The reason I chose to be in this courtroom and attend this hearing today is only one. I decided to be here and use this medium, the spontaneous statement, because it is one of the few that the condition of a prisoner leaves me. I want to use it to shout out my anger at a situation that you, the men and women of the court, should know about. I am referring to the detention condition of Comrade Alfredo Cospito since May 25 subjected to the 41 bis regime. I make a premise: the act that brought Alfredo to prison and claimed by him in the courtroom is the kneecapping of Ansaldo Nucleare CEO Roberto Adinolfi as a result of the atomic disaster and subsequent massacre at the Fukushima power plant. Therefore, in my opinion, this act is rightfully part of all those lights that have illuminated for more than a century the path of many exploited and rebellious people, including me. This is the anarchy of action and for this it can only find all my complicity and solidarity. Coming to more recent times, the fact that Alfredo despite his years of imprisonment has never bent and has always with enviable constancy carried out his struggles publicly has aggravated his detention regime to the maximum expression of psychological and sensory torture that our legal system provides for: the 41 bis. A regime he has opposed by deciding since October 20 to go on hunger strike to the extreme. I do not want to waste time here asking for humanity or listing the immense restrictions that this detention provides. As Machiavelli wrote any state, whether monarchical or republican, bases its opulence, wealth and strength on crime. For me a simple person trying to make a living as an anarchist, it is unthinkable to demand justice from the latter or any of its representatives, but any action aimed at increasing the strength of Alfredo’s struggle against 41 bis can bring him closer to the need closest to him and to us: to have him healthy and in touch with his affections.

For the downgrading of Alfredo
For the end of the physical and mental cages that make possible the exploitation of ‘man on man and man on nature
For anarchy

Dayvid

Turin, Italy: First-degree sentence in the Scintilla trial

Posted on 2023/01/21 by darknights

Jan. 17, 2023

Late in the afternoon came the verdict in the Scintilla trial, the one that put 18 defendants and the decades-long struggle against administrative detention centers in Turin on the stand.

The reading of the verdict took place while a protest was underway right under the walls of Corso Brunelleschi, in that uninterrupted flow of solidarity that still feeds between inside and outside.

The general accusatory structure based on the crime of “Subversive Association against the State” (art. 270 c. p.) fell decreeing the acquittal for all/all.

The heavier specific crimes, manufacture – possession – transport of explosive material, which were charged against two comrades and a comrade also fell; the prosecutor had asked for 6 years and four months for them in addition to a fine of 20,000 euros.

There were, however, some convictions, which we report and for which we await the reading of the papers:

– 4 years and two months for an explosive device at the company that managed meals in the center of Turin for a comrade at that time;
– 3 years for conspiracy to commit arson (for a riot inside the former Cie), for a comrade;
– 1 year and three months for a comrade; and 1 year for incitement to commit a crime affixed to 10 others.

The operation began on Feb. 7, 2019, with the clearing of the Asilo and high-security imprisonment for some comrades, thus concludes the first degree.

Rome, Italy: With Alfredo Cospito, against hostile life imprisonment and 41 bis: initiative to the court of cassation (January 25th)

With Alfredo Cospito, against hostile life imprisonment and 41 bis: initiative to the court of cassation (Rome, January 25, 2023)

WITH ALFREDO COSPITO
AGAINST HOSTILE LIFE IMPRISONMENT AND 41 BIS

The cassation is scheduled to hold a hearing on Jan. 25 to review the new rules on hostile life imprisonment. This is yet another dance around the totem of the constitution, a fetish for sincere democrats and reformist jackals.

We will be in the square to reiterate our solidarity with Alfredo Cospito who has been on hunger strike for more than three months, against 41 bis and hostile life imprisonment.

Alongside all anarchists and revolutionaries deprived of freedom!

Death to prison society, all states and the institutions that support them!
Not one step backward!
For anarchy!

$hile/Abya Yala: Communique from different territories of Abya Yala for Alfredo Cospito almost 90 days into his hunger strike against the 41 bis punishment and isolation regime

Posted on 2023/01/19 - 2023/01/19 by darknights

Public communiqué of anarchist, subversive anti-authoritarian, nihilist anti-speciesist and anarcho-feminist affinities in the face of the current situation of comrade Alfredo Cospito in the Italian fascist prisons almost 90 days after the beginning of his hunger strike.

As comrades who support the anarchic struggle against prisons, prison society and the system of domination, we express through these words our unwavering support for comrade Alfredo Cospito, kidnapped by the Italian state in the prison of Bancali, Sassari, Sardinia; a center of extermination in which the nefarious regime of 41 bis has been applied to him, with the aim of destroying him as a subject and preventing him from maintaining any kind of contact with all his comrades inside and outside of the prisons.

Alfredo has been on hunger strike for almost 90 days demanding the end of the application of the damned regime, which extorts our comrades through the torture of isolation to induce them to give information or die, only in these two situations 41 bis ceases to be applied.

As like-minded comrades we repudiate the torture applied to Alfredo and other comrades, we know that they fear us because of our unrestricted commitment to end the system of domination, a commitment that does not end with torture, nor with prison, nor with death itself, and for this reason today Alfredo is risking his life firmly and without hesitation.

From the territory occupied by the Chilean colonialist state and from different territories of Abya Yala we tell you that the struggle of our comrade is also ours and that the consequences of a bad end to it will be seen and felt everywhere. Alfredo Cospito: Class hatred and the myth of avenging anarchy

Posted on 2023/01/19 - 2023/01/21 by darknights

We receive and disseminate:

You take away his voice, we give him back his word! A flyer not to forget the words Alfredo has always expressed and for which he is in 41 bis!

CLASS HATRED AND THE MYTH OF AVENGING ANARCHY.

Comrades, now in the FSB building in Arkhangelsk there will be an attack, for which I take responsibility. The reasons for this are clear to you. In response to the FSB repressing, building frames, and torturing people, I have decided to strike it. Most likely, I will die from the explosion because I will trigger the bomb manually. Therefore, I request you to disseminate information about the attack: who carried it out and the reasons. Well, that is it. I wish you to go firmly and uncompromisingly toward our goal. Bright is the future of anarchist communism!

Mikhail Zhlobitsky

(October 31, 2018 attack claim against the FSB in Arkhangelsk, Russia)

It is also absurd to think that the class struggle is over; we are immersed in it up to our necks but unlike yesterday, the barbarization due to technological isolation (which each of us carries with him or her) deprives us of the real per- ception of the phenomenon as a whole. This barbarization entails a return to primordial, savage (thus purer) forms of class conflict. Mediating figures such as “unions” and “parties” are skipped. In the most technologically “advanced” part of the world, the social subject that once characterized the class of the oppressed, the “proletariat,” has been replaced by an undefined and desperate class that has no self-awareness. Meanwhile, hatred, anger have accumulated saturating the air, making it unbreathable and ready to explode at the first spark of the right intensity. This is well known by the powers-that-be, who despite having less good cards in their hands than ours, play them to their best by fueling conflicts among the poor. But they are only palliatives, only barely effective. Unions and leftist parties no longer work. Their firefighting role has been replaced by weapons of mass distraction such as racism and patriotism. But how long can this last? The strategy of pitting poor against more poor is out of breath, time counted. General impoverishment due to the technological wave and resulting unemployment will defuse racism and patriotism, but only if we play our cards right. In the time it takes for us to readjust and to guarantee citizenship incomes (real and not truf faldini1 like those of the “5 stars”2) to everyone, the system will be exposed almost helplessly to our attacks. In that time, hatred will reach its peak and perhaps it will be the good time that anger in this unfortunate country will be directed toward the real perpetrators of misery: the state and the bosses.

Moreover, the popular madness over sovereignism is weakening parliamentary democracy by undermining it from the ground up. This sort of “populism” produces conflicting and irrational drives that are difficult for the very people who unleashed them to manage. Today the possibility that our action can open a breach becomes real. We must have clear ideas, conviction and tenacity to turn hatred from the field, to open the eyes of the exploited. Will and determination can turn back the clock of history, making us start again where we began to lose those two irreplaceable qualities. A century ago, we were overwhelmed by the force of an authoritarian “communism” that poisoned us with its fruits, “social democracy” and “dictatorship of the proletariat,” which with their brutality brought the “myth” of the social revolution of the “sun of the future” and anarchy as concrete prospects for total liberation to a sunset. We claimed in our “modernity” that we did not need “myths,” but in this way we killed utopia, the greatest weapon we had to subvert this world. Historically, we have focused too much on rationality, on science while neglecting the instincts of revolt, the feelings, the passions underlying the human. International call to action in solidarity with Alfredo Cospito and the end of the 41bis regime (January 22-28) EN/ES/GR/IT/PT

Posted on 2023/01/14 - 2023/01/24 by darknights

We extend the call for an international campaign in solidarity with comrade Alfredo Cospito during the week of January 22-28. More than 80 days after the beginning of his hunger strike against the 41 bis regime, it is urgent for us to deepen and multiply the gestures of internationalist solidarity and to deploy all our forces against all expressions of domination. We hope that this initiative can be translated and disseminated to all anti-authoritarian comrades throughout the world. We also hope that this campaign will go beyond the walls that isolate comrade Alfredo and that he will feel all our solidarity and complicity in war. LET’S NOT LEAVE ALFREDO ALONE!

END TO THE REGIME 41 BIS!
FREEDOM TO ALFREDO COSPITO!
LONG LIVE THE BLACK INTERNATIONAL!
DEATH TO THE STATE & LONG LIVE ANARCHY!

Italy: Update about the health condition of Alfredo Cospito on the 85th day of hunger strike

Posted on 2023/01/14 by darknights

Update about the health condition of Alfredo Cospito on the 85th day of hunger strike (Italy, January 12, 2023)

On January 12th, the 85th day of the hunger strike to the bitter end against 41 bis prison regime and life imprisonment without possibility of parole, the antagonist radio station Radio Onda d’Urto broadcast a third speech by the doctor who is regularly visiting anarchist comrade Alfredo Cospito, imprisoned in the Bancali prison, in Sassari. As for the updates on the 71st (December 29th) and 78th day (January 5th) of hunger strike, we report a transcript of the speech and the recording of the broadcast (in italian language):

“He has lost even more weight, and significantly more than last week: he lost another 4.50 kg, so he weighed 80 kg today. So for his height of about 1.93 cm, he is about 10 kg below his target weight. The musculature is getting progressively smaller […]. He was a bit angry because today four members of parliament from Partito Democratico [Democratic Party, PD] went to visit him [in Italy parliamentarians can, by their own decision, visit prisons at any time] and he reiterated that his struggle is not just for him, but is for all those who are imprisoned in 41 bis. So he does not represent the ‘good one’ to be saved, but it is a struggle extended to all the people who are in 41 bis […]. [His health conditions] are still quite good, the fact that he has further lost weight… and this time he is losing weight in an important way, week by week, clearly having already consumed what were his fat deposits, now he is slowly moving towards a muscular catabolism, so, this obviously entails – and will entail (because he is still standing well) – an important reduction in physical strength […]. In my opinion, yes [we must expect a worsening of his health], even if he always mentions these Kurdish comrades who have also gone a year without eating – so he tells me – but on multivitamins, on supplements, which he does not want to take at the moment, because he tells me that they make him feel hungry, so he feels very sick with this feeling hungry, while without taking them he does not feel hungry. But without these supplements, of course, the situation gets much worse […]”.
