PDF: ‘A Tad Gnarley’ DIY Insurrectional Anarcho-Nihilist PosterxZine Mash Up from Bristol

‘A TAD GNARLEY’

because having the patience of a saint never made it feel like we were getting anywhere or nearer to gaining any ground.

PDF: ‘A TAD GNARLEY‘

Authentically lived physical experience, rather than the void of social ‘recognition’ media. Down and out in the belly of the South West, filled with ‘propaganda of the deed’, the anger lives on!

Designed to be read easily as a zine or can be ripped, to be paste as A3 posters, which we did already the last year or so, all over the grey walls of Bristol.

Darko always present.

UK: God will not save the King! Toby Shone’s coronation letter + The History of Regicide by Anarchists, Revolutionaries & Rebels

Posted on 2024/02/23 - 2024/02/23 by darknights

Our comrade Toby Shone was released from prison on 28th December 2022 under heavy restrictions (license conditions), which was overseen by a multi-agency team (MAPPA) including the National Security Division (counter-terror) and forced to live in a filthy bail hostel in Gloucester for 9 months. Since then he was abducted on 19th September 2023 at gun point by the armed scum of the anti-terrorist unit in between Gloucester and the Forest of Dean, along with being thrown back into prison once again.

We as anarchists in complicity with our comrade would like to highlight an intriguing and amusing event that occurred when Toby was still under bail and in conditions that were no better than an open prison.

Added to this post is a letter dated 14th April 2023 received from Lewis Thomas the scum Probation Service – National Security Division officer who was managing Toby’s bail and conditions. It expresses in a comical language that puts across an image of wanting to help our comrade rather oppressing him, which was pretty much the tactic adopted generally by the goons of the National Security Division towards our comrade, as if anarchism and holding revolutionary ideas is a mental disease that needs to be treated. For us this letter highlights even more the climate that is starting to begin in the United Kingdom that anarchism is to be combined alongside fascist and Islamic ideologies as extremism and terrorism.

In the spirit of this comical letter and in the age-old tradition of assassination that the UK state and all states around the world should fear, we give a limited chronological account of the history of attempted and successful assassinations of monarchs by anarchists, revolutionaries and rebels who made the fear change sides, with the propaganda of the deed.

God will not save the King!

The History of Regicide by Anarchists, Revolutionaries & Rebels

(Attempted) Napoleon III of France, 1858

On the evening of 14 January 1858, as the Emperor and Empress were on their way to the theatre in the Rue Le Peletier, the precursor of the Opera Garnier, to see Rossini’s William Tell, Felice Orsini Italian revolutionary, leader of the ‘Carbonari’ and his accomplices threw three bombs at the imperial carriage. The first bomb landed among the horsemen in front of the carriage. The second bomb wounded the animals and smashed the carriage glass. The third bomb landed under the carriage and seriously wounded a policeman who was hurrying to protect the occupants. Eight people were killed and 142 wounded, though the emperor and empress were unhurt. They judged it best to proceed to the performance and appear before the public in their box.

Orsini himself was wounded on the right temple and stunned. He tended his wounds and returned to his lodgings, where police found him the next day. Orsini was sentenced to death and went calmly to the guillotine on 13 March 1858. Accomplices Pieri was executed and Gomez condemned to hard labour for life. Di Rudio was sentenced to death, which was commuted to life imprisonment on Devil’s Island near Cayenne, whence he escaped and later went to America.

The improvised bomb that Orsini used was infamously named after him the ‘Orsini Bomb’ (pictured below). The weapons were somewhat commonly used by anarchists in the latter half of the 19th century in Europe, and surplus bombs were also used by the Confederacy during the American Civil War. The design is reminiscent of modern impact fused grenades, such as the Soviet RGO hand grenades. Orsini bombs were designed to remove “the uncertainty of slow burning fused weapons”. In several plots, including an attack at Rossini’s Opera William Tell at Liceu Theater in 1893 by anarchist Santiago Salvador; resulting in the death of 20 people and wounding 30.

Émile Henry (Sept. 26, 1872 – May 21, 1894)

Émile Henry (Sept. 26, 1872 – May 21, 1894)

“Comrades, courage. Long live anarchy!” On May 21, 1894, the anarchist Émile Henry was guillotined. A few words for a comrade who dedicated his short and intense life, integrally and to the end, to anarchy. So many years have passed – well over a century of actions, dreams, revolutions – and the revolutionary will of this comrade continues to shine with the infinite wonderful facets of our ideal. Émile is immortal.

Aphorisms

Once, the cloister opened for souls weary or disgusted with the spectacles of the world, today we have no other refuge than in hospitals and prisons.

What do anarchists want? The autonomy of the individual, the development of his free initiative, which alone will be able to assure him all possible happiness. If the anarchist admits communism as a social conception, it is by simple deduction, because he understands that it is only in the happiness of all, free and autonomous as he is, that he will find his own happiness.

When a man, in today’s society, becomes a conscious rebel of his own action-and such was Ravachol-it is because he has done in his brain a painful work of analysis whose conclusions are imperative and cannot be evaded except by cowardice. He alone holds the scales, he alone is judge of the right or wrong of hating and being savage, “even fierce.”

I believe that acts of brutal revolt are right, because they wake up the masses, shake them like a violent lash, and show them the vulnerable side of the Bourgeoisie still all trembling at the moment when the Rebel goes up to the gallows.

Everyone has a special physiognomy and attitudes that differentiate him from his fellow fighters. Thus, we are not surprised to see revolutionaries so divided in the direction of their efforts. We wonder what good tactics are: they are everywhere proportional to the amount of energy brought to the action. But we recognize no one’s right to say, “Only our propaganda is the good one; outside of it there is no salvation.” It is an old residue of authoritarianism born of true or false reason that libertarians must not tolerate.

Do what you think is best and do it with love.

To those who say, “Hate does not breed love,” answer that it is love, alive, that often breeds hate.

Hate that rests not on low envy, but on a generous feeling, is a healthy and powerfully vital passion.

The more we love our dream of freedom, strength and beauty, the more we must hate that which opposes its future.

In the history of human progress there is only one party; it is the party of movement.

Socialists do not want to understand that the freedom of the individual is necessary to the true freedom of the people.

In the dedication of his book, From the Other Side, Alexandre Herzen specifies a truly revolutionary and effective attitude when he says, “We do not build, we demolish; we do not announce new revelations at all, we suppress the old lie.” This book by Herzen is full of flashes and revelations, but there is no lack of biting remarks in it either: it is a good book for the prison; and away from the street I like to take it as an echo: “The French cannot rid themselves of the idea of monarchical organization; they have a passion for police and authority; every Frenchman is in his soul a police commissioner; he loves alignment and discipline; everything that is independent, individual, irritates him; he understands equality only as leveling and willingly submits to the arbitrariness of the police as long as everyone submits to it. Put a chevron on a Frenchman’s hat and he becomes an oppressor, he begins to oppress anyone who does not wear that rank; he demands respect towards authority.”

There is one right that overrides all others; it is the right to insurrection. Continue reading “Émile Henry (Sept. 26, 1872 – May 21, 1894)” →

Rome, Italy: Incendiary attack on some vehicles of PosteItaliane, Italgas and EnjoyEni

Posted on 2023/01/25 by darknights

We receive from anonymous email and publish:

Thanks to the fires that ignited the beginning of the new year, which inspired and encouraged us, on the night of January 22 we placed flammable material and set fire to the primers against 3 vehicles of PosteItaliane, Italgas and EnjoyEni.

This action is meant to ardently respond to the international call to mobilization for anarchist and revolutionary prisoners.

The attacks that have ignited revolt and empowered anarchist claims around the world in recent months have shown how the conflict has not died down and how at every latitude of the globe there is someone willing to go out of their way to strike at the state and its collaborators.

We see with joy how much the actions and claims of them break linguistic and national boundaries, creating informal communication in practice. Each attack inspires and places specific common goals on the plate, so we believe it is effective to grasp these clues by fitting into a vision of permanent, internationalist conflict.

The internationalism of action resurfaces effectiveness in the coordination of attack, which is not formal and predetermined but develops informally through propaganda of the deed.

The multiplication of actions across state borders shows how the conflict is not merely a matter of historical memory, but how it lives in the here and now of struggle, in everyday revolt, and how it expresses itself through the sharing of a total denial of political compromises and strategies of any kind.

Anarchic and subversive words from Chilean prisons, in the framework of the international week for anarchist prisoners

Posted on 2021/09/01 - 2021/09/01 by darknights

Shouts of war; true sounds of freedom!!!

In this week of solidarity with the anarchist prisoners we make an open call to war, to continue and intensify the conflict against every expression of Power and to strengthen the bonds of affinity for combat among all the anti-authoritarian sectors that exist and walk common paths.

It is from this position that we remember comrades Sacco and Vanzetti as part of the broad sector of anarchic illegalism, who were called “the Galleanists”, who with bombs, expropriations and executions made the American soil tremble at the beginning of the last century. Supported by the creation and multiplication of affinity groups and violent action, the illegalists expanded anarchic ideas from the facts, understanding that word and action are inseparable.

Since then much water has passed under the bridge, many have been the deaths and many prisons have seen the passing of comrades who have proudly confronted Power from the place where it has been their lot to be, nevertheless the ideas that translate into affinity and action have endured and are those that today motivate us anarchists and subversives of the territory dominated by the Chilean State to continue the war from this confinement and in the streets, always bearing in mind the necessary harmony between prisoners and supportive and complicit environments that walk from the confrontation with the normality of the existing.
