14/9/25 – Indonesia repression news

In short nationally there’s 5444 people reported arrested from the uprising. 583 are on further investigations. That is the recent report from the legal aid institution [www.lbhbandung.or.id]. On 3rd September the same leftist legal organisation released info that 3337 people had been arrested, so we can see that the repression is building momentum. Hundreds of anarchists are reported arrested.

The Indonesian anti-terrorist unit ‘Densus 88’, are basically a death squad and have been activated by the government. ‘Densus 88’ are now hunting the insurrectionary anarchist, nihilist and egoist circles and they focus on the arrested. They will try to charge the comrades already arrested and those wanted with terrorism, which will be hard to prove in court but the repression could be bloody and we ask for international attention and revolutionary solidarity. The anti-terrorist unit is officially hunting the same circle in Makassar. This is the way that the Indonesian state try to make a paranoid climate which is not that really successful.

Tosca and black

Anti-terrorist unit labelled the insurrectionists as the “Toska item chaos network”, which refers to a flag used by those to separate themselves from anarcho socialist who at early times still allied with underbelly of mainstream leftist. But now red and black and tosca always unite in the streets. So most of the comrades who used the individualist flag are also running with the flag of the chaos star also. Now the dynamics are different, insurrectionary red and black also affiliated with tosca, because of how many comrades are fed up with the NGOs and the leftists too. However five years ago if you go to the street and carry the individualist flag, the “civil anarchist” leftists and union members will block you and gave you to the police. After all this, the leftists and unions, NGOs, started to stink, and there’s no more infighting. In fact those three days were complete coordination with the red and black.

The intense riot of three days was the most spontaneous uprising in modern day Indonesia.

Indonesia: ‘FUCK THEM ALL’ EN/ES

Last night, our friend Pem got snatched by the pigs, and we still don’t know what charges they’ll throw at him. This morning, they’re out there in the media, trying to make a spectacle of mass arrests, calling us “provocateurs” and “outside agitators.” And they’re naming names—our names.

The usual traitor of this post-indrustrial capitalism such as “leftists,” the NGOs, and even the so-called anarchists have betrayed us by becoming the echo chamber of State narratives. They’re dancing in the state’s echo chamber, spreading their lies and slander. They’re parroting the ruling class narrative, blaming the rioters, blaming anyone who dares use insurrectionary tactics to tear down this civilization. The same people who once claimed solidarity now help the state track us down, label us as criminals or outside agitator, and destroy everything we’ve fought for. They even parroting the same narrative of “rioters caused the death of several people”. Yes this you Page Against the Machine. Are you glad now for the massive arrest? YOU ALSO DONT DO SHIT WHEN THE POLICE KILLED HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE IN A FOOTBALL STADIUM. YOUR ILLITERATE ARGUMENT CLEARLY SHOWS THE LIMITATION OF YOUR NANO BRAIN.

Page Against the Machine? (this self-proclaimed anarchist publisher seems to have more than just personal sentiment towards insurrectionary tactics. You know what? FUCK YOU AND YOUR MORALITY. You’ve become nothing more than state-funded hacks. You’ve lost the plot. You’re not anti-authoritarian—you’re just another cog in the machine, shilling for the status quo. Stop blaming the justified anger of the public—especially when that anger stems from real tragedies, like accidental deaths—not from people attacking each other. Don’t twist the truth to suit your image. Keep selling your so-called radical books and posing as a rebellious musician, saying stupid things on stage—but know this: we’re done with fakes like you. We see through it now.

Now, they’re hunting us down. They’re digging through our words, our actions, and our identities to silence us. They think by naming us, by locking us up, by calling us criminals, they can stop the insurrection. But this is far bigger than them. We’re not here to play by their
rules.

Fuck the state. Fuck their cops. Fuck their media. Fuck their NGOs. All of you who sit comfortably in your homes, watching from your screens, pretending to give a shit—you’re part of the problem. You enable this civilization, this industrial system, this death culture, and now you’ve thrown us into the firing line. You don’t get to call yourselves anarchists if you’re backing the very structure that oppresses us.

We are the problem. The pigs are terrified of us because we stand against the very foundations of this system, this world. They want to destroy us? Fine. Let them try. But we won’t stop. We won’t be silent. We won’t go back into the cages they’ve built for us.

Resisting Techno-Tyranny: A Dialogue

This conversation between Paul Cudenec and the Italian group Resistenze al nanomondo was first published in the July 2022 issue of the printed journal L’urlo della Terra and has recently also been made available online, again in Italian.

1. Resistenze al nanomondo: Can you can tell us about your story, your path, when you started developing a critique of techno-scientific developments and what thinkers you learned from?

Paul Cudenec: I don’t think I could separate my critique of techno-scientific developments from the rest of my opinions and analysis. I have been an anarchist for 30 years now, but even before then, in my youth, I felt a strong instinctive aversion to high-tech consumer society. On the one hand it was associated with everything that I most disliked – big business, the state, the military, authority and control in general. On the other hand it stood against everything that I most appreciated – nature, freedom, community, a sense of historical and cultural continuity. The arrival of CCTV cameras in England was a wake-up moment for me. I worked at the time as a journalist with a local newspaper in one of the first towns to have cameras installed and, since I knew for a fact that there was very little crime there, it was clear to me that this project was nothing to do with fighting crime, as was claimed, but was the roll-out of something much more sinister. I wrote a punk song about this in the mid-1990s (which I put online last year), warning about “the cameras that steal our liberty” and the techno-tyrants who were going to scan our DNA, put microchips in our brains and turn us into robots. With the local anarchist group, which I subsequently helped to create, we used to hold annual protests against the cameras, marking the anniversary of their installation as “Big Brother’s Birthday”.

As you will gather from the above, George Orwell was, unsurprisingly, an influence on me. The history of the Luddites was another inspiration (via Kirkpatrick Sale among others), along with anarcho-publications like Green Anarchist, SchNEWS, Do or Die, Anarchy: A Journal of Desire Armed and various EF! publications. I also read David Watson’s Against the Megamachine, Fredy Perlman’s Against His-story, Against Leviathan, the Unabomber Manifesto plus a lot by John Zerzan and Derrick Jensen. I have more recently been influenced by reading the likes of Miguel Amorós, Jacques Ellul, Theodore Roszak, Charlene Spretnak, Renaud Garcia… But intertwined with that thread of my self-education have been other inspirations. The English nature mystic Richard Jefferies has been very important to me, as has René Guénon, who combined his metaphysics with a strong critique of modernity. I have also read elsewhere about sufism, Taoism, comparative mythology, English folklore, Indian philosophy, German idealism, Jewish anti-capitalist romanticism, Jungian psychology… What interests me, above all, are the connections between these accounts and traditions, or rather, perhaps, the new space that is opened up for our reflection when we consider them together, in the same conceptual context. Part IV: In Defense of Anarchist “Sectarianism”

The Marxian religion was imposed in Russia by blood and fire with the Bolshevik coup d’état. Vladimir Ilich Ulyanov (alias Lenin) would be in charge of canonizing the dogma -glorifying its metaphysical character with ontological and metahistorical pretensions- and implementing it as a disciplinary instrument and tool of domination. As could not be otherwise, the institutional faith produced its high priests who, in the end, would turn out to be “more papist than the Pope”; reaching its dogmatic paroxysm with the rise of Soviet orthodoxy after 1930 and the development of the schools affiliated with Stalinism (read: most of the Marxian currents that were implanted in the so-called Third World). Certainly, in this context, the “struggle against sectarianism”¹ was exacerbated in the defunct Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR).

Circus-trials, mass imprisonments, state surveillance and extrajudicial executions – by means of Cheka -,² were the response to “sectarianism” in the land of the “soviets” during 70 years of red fascism. Thousands of anarchists, critical Marxians, Mensheviks, social-revolutionaries and other “sychophants” went to the concentration camps created by Trotsky, accused of “sectarianism”. In those same extermination camps, the survivors of the Kronstadt massacre served their sentences, under the same accusation. In East Germany, Albania, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Poland, Romania, China, North Korea, Mongolia, Cuba, Cambodia and Ethiopia, “sectarians” were persecuted and killed by their respective states/churches. ‘III) Class war is outdated’ – Conspiracy of Cells of Fire

We republish an excerpt from the CCF’s (Conspiracy of Cells of Fire) book New Urban Guerrilla on the occasion of “World Workers’ Day”, one of the few days when leftists remember to take to the streets, hold their ritual marches and speak their faded slogans. The left has never been able to fully recover from the consequences of the rise of neoliberalism and the fall of the USSR, and it never will as long as it clings to outdated and anachronistic theories and practices that struggle to cope with the rapid developments of the last few decades. The concept of ‘worker’ and ‘class struggle’ that they so glorify no longer have the same clarity and meaning that they had a century ago. The third industrial revolution, the automation it brought about and globalisation have led to the expansion of the tertiary sector at the expense of the primary and secondary sectors. For the average young worker who works in hotels and cafes, the ‘occupation of the means of production’ does not make as much sense as it would to a bachelor worker, especially when the rusty leftist rhetoric has not even managed to prevail against neoliberal standards, the doctrine of ‘there is no alternative’ and the false promises of social advancement and enrichment. The so-called class consciousness is now almost non-existent. We cannot even imagine how much more fossilized the left will look like with the arrival of the fourth industrial revolution, which is already just around the corner, and which will bring even more radical socio-economic transformations, changing and blurring even more the class dynamics and the meaning of ‘worker’.
With all that has been said about the left, it is therefore not surprising either why a ‘movement’ such as that of the a/a space, which tends to become increasingly leftist, is so alienated from population groups it is supposed to support, such as workers and minorities.
Or May Day is not the worker’s right.

So here it is necessary to talk about society and the individual. We declare ourselves anti-socialists and have referred extensively to our conception of society. However, because we find that confusion remains in many mouths and ears producing distorted ideologies of revolutionary elitism, we for our part persist in striking down this misunderstanding.

First of all, by the term society we do not in any way exclusively define the numerical population of people. We characterize as a whole the majority framework of attitudes, traditions, morals and customs within which the processes of power are accepted. For example, the concepts of property, patriotism, religion, are pervasive social values deeply rooted in <> without the need for law enforcement and state surveillance.

Of course, the majority of society, beyond the common belief shared in the necessity of power, is at the same time divided into classes. Social classes that are not entrenched from one another, as in past centuries when natural exclusion from the upper echelons of power prevailed (pyramidal morphology based on descent and hereditary rights), but constitute categories of people based on their fluid position in production and their economic surface. Today, therefore, people are in constant class mobility due to the structure of the modern system. The participatory form of capitalism and the real or fictitious opportunities for professional development form a fluctuating scale on which petty bourgeoisie can become bosses (self-made professionals and careerists) and bosses can fall into petty bourgeoisie (company bankruptcies, failed investments). Against Anarcho-Liberalism and the curse of identity politics

DN: We re-post this text from 2018 that we feel is still relevant and even more on an international level in the present, against the supposed ‘unquestionably oppressed’, against those identity politicians and academics who just do not comprehend their involvement in the recuperation of anarchy into a passive joke! All part of the civil anarchism & activist psychosis that is due a much updated critique that will be forthcoming in future publications.

Anarchism in the UK is a joke. Once symbolising hard-fought struggles for freedom, the word has been stripped bare to make way for narrow-minded, separatist and hateful identity politics by middle class activists keen to protect their own privileges. We write this leaflet to reclaim anarchism from these identity politicians.

We write as self-identified anarchists who see our roots in the political struggles of the past. We are anti-fascists, anti-racists, feminists. We want to see an end to all oppressions and we take an active part in those fights. Our starting point though is not the dense language of lefty liberal academics, but anarchism and its principles: freedom, cooperation, mutual aid, solidarity and equality for all regardless. Hierarchies of power, however they manifest, are our enemies.

Identity politics is part of the society we want to destroy.

Identity politics is not liberatory, but reformist. It is nothing but a breeding ground for aspiring middle class identity politicians. Their long-term vision is the full incorporation of traditionally oppressed groups into the hierarchical, competitive social system that is capitalism, rather than the destruction of that system. The end result is Rainbow Capitalism – a more efficient & sophisticated form of social control where everyone gets a chance to play a part! Confined to the ‘safe space’ of people like them, identity politicians become increasingly detached from the real world.

A good example is ‘queer theory’ and how it has sold out to corporate masters. The concept of queer was not long ago something subversive, suggesting indefinable sexuality, a desire to escape society’s attempts to define and study and diagnose everything, from our mental health to our sexuality. However, with little in the way of class critique, the concept was readily appropriated by identity politicians and academics to create yet another exclusive label for a cool clique that is, ironically, anything but liberatory. Increasingly, queer is a nice badge adopted by some to pretend they too are oppressed, and avoid being called out on their shit, bourgeois politics.

We don’t want hear about the next DIY event, queer night or squatter fest that excludes all but those who have the right language, dress code, or social circles.. Part III: “The marxian church against anarchist “sectarianism””.

Anti-sectarian grammar achieved preeminence amidst the entanglements of the First International between 1864 and 1872. While during its first years the conceptual discrepancies between Proudhonians, Blanquists, Lassalleans and Marxists had been resolved without major tantrums within the International Workingmen’s Association (IWA), in 1868 tensions increased with the incorporation of Bakunin and a large group of like-minded people. The anarchists went so far as to demolish all the economistic onanism of Saint Charlie and his acolytes, placing in their sights the “gravest evil”. That is to say, the State (in particular) and all authority (in general). Thus, they erected their strongest theoretical specificity on the assumption that property or, generically, the relationship with the means of production, was not the only and excluding factor of “class” domination, but that the very instances of domination – and the State in particular – were also mechanisms that generated social groups that could be considered privileged.

On top of all that, the anarchists defended the full autonomy of the different sections of the IWA against the statutory centralism of the General Council tooth and nail. This position provoked the definitive rupture with the Marxists during the celebration of the V Congress of the Association in 1872. The theoretical-practical positions were irreconcilable and markedly antagonistic. For Saint Charlie, the International had to be the centralizing and guiding organ of the “movement”; while for the Russian anarchist and his comrades, it had to be a planetary conspiracy lacking a directing organ, centred on the concrete individual and his freedom; capable of eradicating all authority from the face of the earth, even that which was instituted in the name of the proletariat. By placing individual freedom and voluntary and autonomous association “before the historical development of society”, they received the eternal condemnation of the marxian Church and were accused of being “sectarians”; becoming the target of the wrath of Saint Charlie and his fervent sacristans. On March 2nd, a police post was set on fire which is located beside the Tugu Mahkota, Solo, Indonesia and the throwing of Molotov cocktails at the Waskita Colomadu Factory in Solo, Indonesia.

We claim these actions were the actions of our conspirators aiming to attack the authorities and corporations responsible for land grabbing and ecocides!

The world has changed a lot and rebellion against power should not be far behind in its efforts to develop strategies relevant to the situation of each locality. We don’t want to reduce Our struggle is similar to that of the “anarcho-leftist/syndicalist” Marx’s left and great-grandsons who always fall into the same pit in their own struggle to simply seize the means of production. in this case we want to destroy the means of production or whatever exploiting machines dominate for us.
