Since February 27, 2021, four comrades have been in jail at BRIANS I in Martorell (BC). Initially the arrests were 8. They are accused of attempted murder and constitution of a criminal group, for participating in a demonstration in Barcelona where for 30 seconds the side of a motor vehicle of the urban guard burned. A guard was on board and got off unhurriedly.
Clearly a set-up. Set up by the state to break up the demonstrations that, in the midst of the COVID confinement, were agitating the main Spanish cities. In solidarity with the rapper Pablo Hasel, who is still detained for crimes of opinion.
Iron fist and hype, this is the response of the State. A frame-up that recalls others. From Sacco and Vanzetti to Sole, Silvano and Baleno, passing through Pinelli and Valpreda. The GIP of the proceedings (Maria Eugenia Canal Bedia) – known friend of the police – has done everything to delay the approach of the trial that could reveal the inconsistency of the frame. Always stretching to the limit the waiting time of each act, coming to hide for 45 days a firemen’s report that exonerates the boys. Accused, among other things, of sharing the battle cry “Chihuahua” and of distinguishing themselves by “the ochre-colored lighter” and other such amenities… 14 months of preventive detention, pending trial. In the factory farms and vivisection labs, our nonhuman comrades are already fighting back. The time is ripe – let’s share skills and perspectives on how to support their resistance! By “anti-speciesism” we don’t mean online activism, vegan capitalism or cop-hugging pacifism – we’re opening a space to plot against human supremacism, and we’ve no need for bureaucratic organizations of any kind.
Many animal rights groups have become a hotbed for fascist/homophobic/cissexist/macho/white supremacist/colonialist views and behaviour. Others promote liberalism, the state or single out human activists as animal “saviours”. We want to build on two years of anti-spe days explicitly pushing against these tendencies, uncompromising in our rejection of all forms of oppression and domestication. Let’s meet each other and make some trouble!
You can find us again in the Hambacher Forest, one of Europe’s largest autonomous spaces, still squatted after almost 10 years. (It’s a forest so be ready to camp).
We want the workshops to be more horizontal this year – you can help us by proposing your own! Some ideas we have so far:

On April 6th was held the hearing of the re-examination court on the precautionary measures for Gianluca and Evelin, anarchist comrades accused of “possession of deflagrant and explosive material, attempted manufacture of improvised explosive devices and possession of deflagrant material with the aim of attacking public safety”, arrested on March 16th on a warrant from the public prosecutor’s office of Genoa and later transferred under house arrest.
Today, April 8th, the comrades were notified of the result of the hearing: the arrest order against Evelin was “annulled for lack of serious evidence of guilt”, therefore the comrade is released from house arrest, while it is confirmed for Gianluca, who remains under house arrest, without any change in the specific restrictions (no communication with persons other than close family members, no leaving the perimeter of the house even to buy food, no receiving correspondence, etc., and periodic checks by the police).
We remind that a solidarity fund has been activated to support the expenses of the comrades (currently the fund is only active on italian territory). The coordinates for sending contributions are:

Both she and Gianluca are subject to all restrictions (no communication with each other, no communication with persons other than close family members, no leaving the perimeter of the house even to buy food, no receiving correspondence, etc., and periodic checks by the police).

[Note: The comrades were arrested in Rome on March 16th. The investigation and the repressive operation are the result of a joint work between the ROS (“Special Operational Grouping” of carabinieri) and the DIGOS (“General Investigations and Special Operations Division”, political police), coordinated by the Genoa public prosecutor’s office. The two comrades are charged with “possession of deflagrant and explosive material, attempted manufacture of improvised explosive devices, as well as possession of deflagrant material with the aim of attacking public safety”, in conspiracy with unknown persons, in relation to the discovery by the repressive forces of explosive material in June 2021 in a wood near Genoa].
On October 29, 2018, two anarchist comrades from Madrid, we were arrested accused of a sabotage with fire to a Bankia ATM on April 13 of the same year. The action was framed in solidarity with Lisa, who was sentenced to 7 years for a bank robbery in Aachen (Germany), right now in third degree.
There has been a deal between the sides: 1 year suspended sentence for each partner and 7000 euros civil liability paid before the trial.
We were facing 3 years in prison and 17,000 euros of civil liability. Having assessed all the options, we made this decision taking into account all the surrounding factors. The deal is to assume the guilt.

Q: Listeners have probably already had the opportunity to learn about the events that you have lived throughout your long imprisonment in Spanish jails from reading your biography. Let’s start now with the case that led to your current detention in France. What facts does this case refer to?
A: Yes, I have a 10-year sentence set by the Paris Criminal Court on November 8, 2019, for armed robbery and kidnapping. This sentence was recently reduced, a week ago, to five years. And my release date is scheduled for May 16, 2025, so three years from now. This is due to a calculation of the credits for sentence reduction made by the Mont-de-Marsan Prosecutor’s Office, starting from 30 years instead of 25 as the legal limit for the accumulation of sentences in the Spanish system. Well, if this limit had been established by the Public Prosecutor’s Office, if this limit had been enforced, I would have had to be released immediately. Instead, she changed her mind, because she decided that French law should now be applied. A doubly wrong analysis, as my lawyer has already told you in a letter. Technically, it is explained in this way only to understand, in fact, if article 132-23-1 of the French penal code says that convictions pronounced by the criminal jurisdictions of the European Union must be taken into account, on condition that they do not aggravate the situation of the convicted. The legal limit of 30 years of accumulation in French law would therefore be “valid”, in quotations, if I had been sentenced to life imprisonment. This limit would be reduced to 20 years if my sentence had been 30 years, but it is 25 years! So the deliberate error of the prosecutor is obvious. It is Article 362-2 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure. Wednesday night, March 23, we set fire to a car of the company SPIE in Prenzlauer Berg. SPIE participates internationally in the construction and operation of prisons and other facilities with the goal of total surveillance and control.
Educational institutions, parks, transportation infrastructure, and consumer miles become places of discipline under the electronic eyes and sensors of a mix of private and state security systems. Where people could organize and shape their own lives, where they could resist and simply take what they are not granted under capitalism, companies like SPIE are contributing to the technological assault. Too little is said to the enemies of freedom. Let’s burn down their cars, let’s paralyze their infrastructure!
With this action we declare our solidarity with the persecuted defenders of Biologico and the ungovernability of the University of Thessaloniki, with the imprisoned Thanos Xatziagkelou, Georgia Voulgari, Panos Kalaitzis and Dimitris Hatzivassiliadis.
