Chile: On the current situation of our comrade Mónica Caballero in prison. Anarchist and Subversive Prisoners

From the moment of her arrest, in June 2020, Monica has been in the public connotation module of the San Miguel Women’s Prison. This module is characterized by the direct control exercised by the gendarmerie over the prisoners, with greater and more complex security measures than in the rest of the prison.

Along with this, Monica’s derisory yard time – 1 hour a day – makes her confinement even more oppressive, as she is confined in closed spaces practically all day long.

However, there is one factor that is making life particularly difficult for our compañera inside the prison: being forced to share spaces with women who have assaulted, raped and/or murdered their children. Monica’s contact with these people is at all times and at all hours, a situation that is becoming unbearable for our compañera. It is important to point out that Monica is not relying on the investigations and accusations of the prosecutor’s office, but it is they themselves who openly assume their aberrant behaviors, normalizing aggressions and rapes of their children.

In this sense, we are clear in pointing out that this represents a strategy of Power to subdue comrades who have turned their lives to wage war against authority, as Monica has evidently done. Power knows that our revolutionary ethic clashes head-on with these despicable behaviors and those who perpetrate them, which is why it deliberately exercises this type of provocations that represent, by all means, an added punishment.

We will not accept to share common spaces with rapists, so we demand immediately the change of module of our comrade Monica Caballero.

Together with this, the change of module would also mean that our colleague would no longer be subject to an exceptional regime of control and surveillance, which would undoubtedly improve her situation inside the prison.

Chile: In view of the sentences requested by the prosecutors, solidarity and complicity with Monica and Francisco!

On July 24, 2020, comrades Monica and Francisco are arrested in two repressive operations. The authorities accuse Francisco of sending explosive packages against the former Minister of the Interior Rodrigo Hinzpeter and the 54th police station of Huechuraba (Action occurred on July 24, 2019, claimed by “Cómplices Sediciosos/Facción para la Venganza”), while both are accused of the double explosive attack against the Edificio Tánica in the commune of Vitacura (Action occurred in full revolt, on February 27, 2020, claimed by “Afinidades Armadas en Revuelta”).

During these more than two years of imprisonment, Monica has remained in the module of public connotation of the San Miguel prison while Francisco was initially imprisoned in the maximum security section of the CAS but then transferred, along with other comrades, in June 2021 to the La Gonzalina prison in Rancagua, where he is currently being held.

It is fundamental to emphasize that both of them in this time of confinement have been a permanent contribution to the anarchist and social war debates through their writings, communiqués and articles, realizing that prison is not the end of anything but another trench from where to give continuity to the insurrectional struggle and that its walls, bars and cages are not enough to break the solidarity and complicity among the anarchists. It is also from that place where we must situate that Francisco assumed the facts he is accused of, thus giving validity and validity to an anarchism of offensive action and the need for the continuity of his blows. Chile: Two years after our imprisonment. Monica and Francisco’s words from prison

We have always prioritized not having intermediaries when it comes to communicating, that no one speaks for us and in these days that we will be two years since those who support the hegemony of power and force locked us in these concrete pits called prisons, will be no exception.

This second year of imprisonment will bring with it the end of the investigative period of our legal process, that is to say that the period in which the prosecution and the ten prosecutors could gather information against us, will end. The closing of the investigation opens an intermediate process prior to the trial.

The judicial investigation against us has spared no resources; the police have made great efforts not to leave any loose end. The aim with us is to give an exemplary sentence that will frighten anyone who makes the practice of political violence their own, especially with regard to the placing and sending of explosive devices. Furthermore, we are not unknown to the powerful; on more than one occasion we have been seated in the dock, and in all of them we have made clear our anarchic position. Our current legal situation is closely linked to our previous judicial processes.

We are self-critical with respect to our mistakes at the time of our actions, each one of them are part of our experience and learning, which we hope will also serve for others. From the San Miguel Prison (Chile) to the dungeons of the Greek state, the same voice and fist against the jailers of the rebellious youth

Last Wednesday 07/13, a rally was held outside the women’s prison in San Miguel (Chile) demanding that the minimum conditions of health care be met, due to the prohibition of using the patio during the hours that correspond to the female prisoners, etc. Thus dozens of fighters, activists and fellow militants from the October 18 Coordinator were present to denounce this situation that is being experienced in the women’s prison.

On the outskirts of the latter, the bars of the gates were banged loudly so that the political prisoners of this damn government of Boric and the Chilean Communist Party could hear from inside. Likewise, a letter from the political prisoner Monica Caballero was read; from the Coordinator for the Freedom of Political Prisoners on October 18, words were also expressed and from the International Network for the Freedom of Political Prisoners and Justice for Our Martyrs we were as well part of this demonstration carrying the brave voice of Giannis Michaidilis, a Greek political prisoner who has been on a hunger strike for more than 40 days fighting for his freedom against the bourgeois state and the damned justice of the Troika.

The reason is the bourgeois states, their damned justice, whether it is the Pinochetista one or the imperialist Troika’s one, are there to persecute, condemn and intimidate the workers in struggle, the rebellious youth who fight against this capitalist system and all those who face governments and exploitative regimes.

The fight to free Giannis, all the young Greek and Chilean rebels, and all the political prisoners in the world must be one and the same fight.

Santiago, Chile: Explosive attack against Belasco construction company in Las Condes + Claim by “Grupo de Acción 6 de Julio-Nueva Subversión”

During the night of Tuesday, July 5, around 23:00hrs an anonymous cyclist was riding through the wealthy streets of Las Condes to stop at the intersection of Ebro and Encomenderos.

In the place is located the corporate building of the construction company Belasco, the anonymous cyclist manages to enter a small package through the fence to give towards the interior of the building. After a few minutes, the device explodes, causing damage to the facade, mainly to the pillar, the entrance gate and glass of the building.

The unknown silhouette manages to continue its course without any problem or being detected. The typical police personnel for these events arrive at the place: GOPE, LABOCAR, OS-9 in charge of the already traditional Fiscalia Sur, self-styled expert for these cases.

From the progressive government, the Minister of the Interior Izkia Siches said: “the investigations are in progress, I am aware of it and we hope that they will be able to give a quick account. These are facts that we obviously reject as a government and we hope they will not be repeated in our country”.

For his part, the Undersecretary of the Interior, Manuel Monsalve, said: “We must not anticipate judgments, there are audiovisual images of the person who placed the explosive device, with respect to the company Besalco”. Santiago, Chile: Two imprisoned for arson attacks on buses in Peñalolen

At the beginning of March 2022, 3 buses are intercepted by encapuchadxs (hooded ones) setting them on fire in the sector of Peñalolen, and then culminating in a confrontation with the police of the sector.

The case is taken by the OS-9 of the police and after months of investigation on May 17, 2022 manages to arrest two comrades accused of having participated in the arson action.

After being formalized both are remanded in custody. Marjorie was sent to San Miguel prison, while “Jalea”, being a minor, was sent to a SENAME center (youth prison).

A year ago, at this time, we were conducting a hunger strike that lasted 50 days demanding the repeal of the amendments to DL 321, the annulment of the sentences of military prosecution and thus the release to the street of our comrade Marcelo Villarroel.

Today we give a new impulse to this struggle, which is fully in force, persisting as a collective priority in the return to the street of Marcelo, in whom are condensed clear and unacceptable legal aberrations that go beyond the very legality of power.

Marcelo was arrested in Argentina in March 2008 where he spent 22 months in prison, then he was expelled to Chile and today he is just over a year and a half away from serving a 14-year sentence for two bank robberies carried out in 2007, the comrade is also being held captive by a series of sentences from the early 90’s issued by the military prosecutors of Pinochet that amount to more than 46 years and with this they intend to bury him in prison perpetuating his sentences in the midst of an unacceptable complicit silence of all the structures that affirm the political, legal, police and penitentiary framework of the Chilean state. Chile: Text of Mónica Caballero in response to the state assassination of Milena Cartes

Once again death took a walk around San Miguel, and as on other occasions, the door was opened for her by those who anecdotally work closing them, the Chilean Gendarmerie.

On Saturday, January 29, in a macabre coincidence, Milena Cartes, confined in Tower 5, died after a week of ailments. Tower 5 was the same place where more than 10 years ago 81 prisoners died in a fire.

At the moment the information that has been disseminated about the causes of death of Milena is appendicitis, which worsened to peritonitis, something that (without being an expert) if it had been treated in time is not fatal. Cases like Milena’s in Chilean prisons are counted by the hundreds, there is a long list of deaths in prison due to avoidable circumstances and medical negligence, to which we could add the deaths that no one bothered to investigate.

The death of Milena Cartes will be forgotten unless the real reasons for her death are not disclosed.

Gendarmerie will try to hide and/or disguise what happened.

On the situation of our comrade Mónica Caballero Sepulveda, after her brawl in jail with a miserable woman

Last Tuesday, December 28th, our anarchist companion Mónica Caballero Sepúlveda had a verbal and physical altercation with the inmate Denisse Llanos, who was returning from a punishment following another fight she had provoked that same day, in the morning. Monica expressed her refusal to share her cell with this inmate, because of their multiple differences in relation to the behavior of the latter.

It is necessary to say that the decision of the Penitentiary Administration to install Llanos, on her return from the punishment, precisely in the cell of the companion is an obvious provocation, in a context of internal tensions, as the overpopulation and the typical pressure of the prison, and external, as the explosive devices against structures of the Penitentiary Administration were. For this reason, the next day Monica’s relatives went to meet with the OSI staff (in charge of the prison security) and the prison director, Denisse Melgarejo, to whom they expressed all the apprehensions, concerns and uneasiness caused by this serious accident in which our companion was involved. At the same time, we asked for a visiting room, which was authorized, during which we were able to give Monica the support and affection of many people.

We found her strong and dignified. She thanks for all the gestures received.
Moreover, we inform that we will appeal, through the courts, against the punishment, immediately accepted and implemented by the court, which will leave our companion without visit for two weeks. We hold the prison administration responsible for any future harm Monica may receive.

Because the struggle takes place wherever we are!

Anarchic and subversive words from Chilean prisons

Faced with the rearrangement of domination and its capitalist perpetuation: Neither boots, nor votes, only struggle!

It seems that, according to what the citizenry proclaims, we are witnesses of a key moment in the history of this territory; that we have cornered ourselves with our backs to a precipice to which, unless we do something, our fall will be imminent; it seems that we are witnessing an open war, fierce, between two political poles at odds at such a level that, like a cold war, endangers the subsistence and future of all beings in the territory dominated by the Chilean State.

On one side the war cry is: “Communism or Freedom”, and on the other: “Democracy or Fascism”. In the face of such a dramatic scenario, we are presented with the key tool to confront this context, capable of stopping this bloodbath once and for all: participation in the electoral processes, in which suffrage will be the liberating weapon.

We are neither blind nor deaf, we walk with full awareness of this and many other events in the territory, we not only distance ourselves, but we declare war on any institutional instance that seeks any perpetuation of the Status Quo.

We are completely unaware of the false confrontation of two supposedly different systems, the axis on which the battle is fought continues and will continue to be that of Democracy and the administration of Capital; the existence of a “struggle” of different policies only attempts to justify the supposed breadth of the democracy-capital system, the “diverse” essence of this and the supposed space for all types of thought; in no way do we want to be accepted by a system or a society that we reject, we do not want our politics to be one more among the options of this system; we want to destroy all options and the structure that sustains them. We have nothing to do with the electoral show and its staging of elections, plebiscites, votes and so on, we consider that this is nothing more than the tightening of the pin, the bourgeois rearrangement of the class for the maintenance of an imposed and existing order in disguise and according to the times.
