Athens, Greece: Anarchist comrade Nikos Romanos denounces deep parastate with far-right tendencies

Our anarchist comrade Nikos Romanos releases a text denouncing the parastate and fascist actions of the Greek cops inflicted upon him, his family, friends and comrades. The comrade has been under surveillance on and off since his release three years ago by the fascist scum of the Anti-Terrorist Unit, which has now hit a new level since the beginning of the hunger strike by his friend and anarchist comrade Giannis Michailidis, who has been subject to further imprisonment despite serving the required amount of time that would trigger his release.

The repression our comrade is facing should be considered and analysed within the international context of repressive tactics by states against those who dare to fight back without fear. With the current international environment, such as the war in Ukraine, the impending economical crisis threatening on the horizon, technological developments, the repressive apparatus of all states is entering a new stage to counter the struggles that are coming.

Nothing is over, the conflict continues…

Without further hesitance, we let our comrade’s words speak for themself:

The events that I am about to recount took place on Monday 20/6 in the afternoon outside my friend’s house in the centre of Athens. They concern yet another incident where police surveillance by the anti-terrorist police crosses the boundaries and red lines that exist and defines the peculiar relationship between a secret service and its potential target victims.

So let’s get to the facts. The hunger strike of our friend and comrade Giannis Michailidis, who is fighting against the arbitrariness and methods of the bourgeois justice system by putting his body in a barricade, has been going on for the last period of time. He is in a regime of preventive detention because while he has served the sentence imposed on him, the judicial councils, acting as thought police, reject his requests for release, foreseeing his future behaviour as other Pythias*. In essence, they are punishing him not for what he has done and for which, according to their laws, he has served his sentence, but for what they think he will do, based on interpretations that have nothing to do with reality.

During this period, the surveillance of the anti-terrorist police against me has become a daily occurrence, while their presence outside my family’s house has become daily and provocative, with large groups of anti-terrorist police officers defiantly rushing around in their vehicles. This event was interrupted following an engagement with these police officers on Saturday 18/6, where it was emphatically stressed to them that their defiance must end and that their continued presence there would not be accepted. Which was accepted and they ceased their defiant presence, so there is no point in me expanding on evidence that exists and will not be published unless there is a substantial reason. Chile: Communique for comrade Kuyi

After a new commemoration of the death of Mauricio Morales, students of the Liceo de Aplicación (Application High School) carried out an incendiary march with barricades, memory and combat on May 23.

It begins with the burning of a bus in Cumming con la Alameda and ends with two arrested, one of them released without charges but with constant harassment and monitoring by the management of the Liceo de Aplicación. The second comrade on May 24 is left in the hands of Sename for three months while the investigation lasts and then he would be imprisoned with the charges of frustrated homicide to the passengers and bus driver, threats with a firearm to the driver, anti-terrorist law, burning the bus and also the lawsuits of the State and the RedBus company. All these charges add up to at least 10 years.

In the face of this we call to continue the combat and street struggle demanding the immediate freedom of our comrade Kuyi.

Santiago, Chile: White Overalls comrade arrested in connection with the burning of a Transantiago bus

On Monday, May 25, different street confrontations took place in the framework of a new commemoration of the death of comrade Mauricio Morales. From the Ex Pedagogico, the Instituto Nacional and the Liceo de Aplicaciones.

It was in the incendiary outbreak from the Liceo de Aplicaciones that the police of the sector managed to hide and then attack the encapuchados (hooded ones) who were setting fire to a bus in the middle of the Alameda, managing to arrest a comrade in white overalls. The action is captured by the surveillance cameras of the sector and is widely reported by the press.
While the bored conspiracy theorists fantasize and rave about policemen “disguised” as encapuchados in white overalls.

The detained friend, is 16 years old and is formalized by the North Central Prosecutor’s Office, so that later the 7th Court of Guarantee decreed 90 days of investigation in “provisional internment”, that is to say, locked up in the SENAME (National Service for Minors).

Santiago, Chile: Two imprisoned for arson attacks on buses in Peñalolen

At the beginning of March 2022, 3 buses are intercepted by encapuchadxs (hooded ones) setting them on fire in the sector of Peñalolen, and then culminating in a confrontation with the police of the sector.

The case is taken by the OS-9 of the police and after months of investigation on May 17, 2022 manages to arrest two comrades accused of having participated in the arson action.

After being formalized both are remanded in custody. Marjorie was sent to San Miguel prison, while “Jalea”, being a minor, was sent to a SENAME center (youth prison).

We are in a daily war, a war with the status quo, with every form of power that eats away at our lives, and in this war I realized where I belong. In a world where patriarchy rapes and kills us, where capitalism crushes us, impoverishing what we call life, in this world where humanity itself dominates nature and animals, perpetuating anthropocentric thinking and speciesism. So I chose sides. For the power complex will not destroy itself, no social change will come about unless our action transcends reformist logics, having a will to believe and a commitment to our ideas, putting theory into practice.

I proudly declare myself anarchist, proud that in this rotten society, the society of submission and spectacle, I did not bow my head before exploitation and power and chose to stand next to comrades who, by supporting the multiform struggle, also wrote their own page in the revolutionary historical memory. So far, living my new life next to them, in squats, through their common struggles for freedom, I learned what solidarity and comradeship is, what it means to give everything for what you believe in even if you are going to lose your freedom. I take the political responsibility that is due to me for my complicity in the incendiary attack that took place on 8/2 at the Foundation for National and Religious Reflection. A fragmentary action, which was not carried out by an organisation, namely the Anarchist Action organisation of which I am accused as a member, but was motivated by the desires and anger of two people against religious obscurantism, patriarchy and state power. Spain: Information and update on the detainees for the burning of a police vehicle

Yesterday evening Ermann was released and today Emanuele will be released.

The boys have decided to pay the bails together with the help of the solidarity funds, the comrades, friends and relatives.

Only the bails of Danilo, Albo and Beppe (the last imprisoned) remain to be paid.

Danilo has decided to leave after June 3, because he doesn’t want to miss his university exams, Albo stays with him waiting for him in the same module.

We hope that solidarity will fill the boxes with the money needed to free them.

Munich: About raids and a §129 procedure against anarchists and the theft of a printing space

What happened?

As previously published, on Tuesday, April 26, in Munich coordinated raids were conducted against anarchists accused of forming a criminal organization (§129). Four apartments were searched (2 of them without any of the accused living there), as well as several basement storage rooms (some of the neighboring cellars of those to the accused were also searched), a printing space, and the anarchist library Frevel.

Coordinated by State Security (K43), a bunch of hooded USK cops with battering rams, partly drawn weapons and some even in chain-mail – yes, whether this cop had lost a bet or whether it was a knight-themed week, we will probably never know – stormed into the apartments at 6 a.m. sharp. This infamous testosterone-fueled bunch even rammed open a door whose key was inserted in the lock on the outside. At some of the apartments, the cops or their colleagues from K123 (Digital Forensics/Telecommunications Surveillance) must have logged into the local WLAN network beforehand, as they seemed to have a precise idea of which devices were connected to the local WLAN network at that time: equipped with power banks and presumably Faraday cages (which serve to shield radio signals) in the form of pouches, the officers immediately snatched the devices, all of them smartphones, and secured them while they were still switched on.

Following this prelude, the investigators of the K43 came to the scene and waved around the search warrants to the people concerned, and introduced all pseudo-witnesses from local municipal authorities that had come along. And then it started: for about six and a half hours, the pigs rummaged through the usual stuff like computers, storage media, and cell phones, but also printers, anarchist publications, “documents and/or files that provide information about left-wing extremist-anarchist ideas”, personal records, financial data, “documents and/or files that provide information about any attack plan of the defendants,” as well as “plans, tools and/or raw materials for the production of bombs, incendiary devices or other objects suitable for carrying out a terrorist attack”; in other words, simply everything. They seized storage media, computers (including those belonging to individuals not accused), printers, personal notes, letter correspondence, and several hundred anarchist publications in a several languages. In addition, they searched intensively for contracts of other rented premises, and probably also demanded to see contracts from the landlords of the basement rooms that were searched. Athens, Greece: 4-11 June Week of Reconstruction of the Alexandros Grigoropoulos Monument

Revolutionary memory is not an empty letter. It is not a museum affair. It is not a dry ritual that is exhausted in anniversary recurrences. Revolutionary memory is the thread that binds the past to the present and that lays the foundations for a future that will do justice to those who sacrificed for a different world. A world where no one will see the sky through barbed wire, where no one will have their bodies broken in the sweatshops of class exploitation, where no one will be murdered on land and sea borders, in police stations, in the urban ghettos of metropolises. Revolutionary memory brings together those who are missing from our side, making them complicit in our subversive projects and dreams. Revolutionary memory, if we give it the value it deserves, becomes a subversive project, a springboard for struggle, a source of inspiration and disposition in the beautiful cause of freedom. For the words that will form a conceptual framework different from the one spoken today by politicians, economists, military analysts, industrialists, the golden boys of the stock exchange, journalists. Or they will be words armed ready to become an impulsive energy. Or they will be nothing.

The metropolises are the modern steam engines, they are the universal factories of capitalism. The transparent sweatshops where capital’s domination, control and repression of the explosive contradictions it produces are absolutely institutionalized.

The crimes of the state and capitalism within the metropolises become isolated incidents. They are recorded in fragmentary narratives by the bourgeois ideology that imposes its hegemony. Our own memory, which should highlight them and transform them into social consciousness, into a perception of our role and position, is constantly absent. When it is not, it is blurred, colourless, non-existent, empty of content. Fascist censorship here has for the moment been replaced by a new form of active censorship. The production of incessant distorted knowledge, the methodical reversal of facts, their insidious substitution. It is revisionism that attacks consciences, memories, the very history of the struggles. China: Robo-Cop smart helmet

The fast-scanning, infrared camera is connected to an AR (augmented reality) headset, allowing cops to measure people’s temperature in real-time. If thats not enough it can scan up to 13 people at once and 200 in a minute. The helmet can also be paired with contact-tracing apps and facial recognition software.

KC Wearable was started by Chinese students of Oxford and Duke universities (because theres nothing better than colonising the world with knowledge of smart technologies from the West!), becoming a “global leader in industries such as AI, AR/VR, smart wearable helmet, smart watches, smart glasses as well as new wireless communication technology, which provide comprehensive solutions for a variety of scenarios in smart city and smart life….

We believe that today people are wearing our technology on the outside and, one day on the inside, too.”

Italy: Social Credit Score – Rome & Bologna testing new app that monitors & rewards behavior

In line with recommendations being laid out by the World Economic Forum and the UN 2030 Agenda, Bologna, Italy, plans to launch a social credit style app that has striking similarities with Communist China’s social credit system. The app rewards or punishes its citizens for their behavior. Dubbed “Smart Citizen Wallet,” the app will track activities such as recycling, public transportation use, and energy management.

The primary argument for the program is to “save resources” and promote climate-friendly behavior. Those displaying good behavior will collect digital coins and receive discounts at local shops based on the given scores.

The app is already active and in experimental stages in Rome and is set to go live in Bologna in Autumn. Bologna Mayor Matteo Lepore and Massimo Bugani, director of the city’s “Digital Agenda,” discussed the project at a March 29 conference. Bugani indicated the app was part of a more comprehensive effort by the city to invest in digital innovation.

In 2020, Italy and six other nations signed an agreement to become “Agile Nations” in partnership with the WEF. Besides Italy, the deal—co-organized by the OECD—includes Canada, Denmark, Japan, Singapore, UAE, and the UK and sets “each country’s commitment to creating a regulatory environment in which new ideas can thrive.” Expressly—with the Fourth Industrial Revolution front and center.
