Paris, France: Fire involving a crane at the Baudrière construction site in Montreuil

Posted on 2025/10/26 by darknights

It was in lower Montreuil, in a seemingly quiet neighborhood, that an inexplicable and unexpected tragedy occurred during the night of Wednesday, October 22 to Thursday, October 23. Passersby noticed a sudden glow: the cab of a crane was on fire, causing chaos and widespread panic.

The firefighters were slow to arrive. This gave the fire time to cause considerable, irreversible, and unspeakable damage. Although relatively invisible from the street except for the blackened windows of the cabin, the significant impact of this fire was revealed to us by a source close to the investigation. The cabin, burned out from the inside, is now completely unusable.

The vehicle in question was located on the Imava construction site at 65 bis rue Voltaire, the real estate developer that evicted the squat known as La Baudrière in August 2022. This construction site is currently at a standstill.

Shortly afterwards, we received a text containing an interview with an expert on the event in question. Will it shed light on this very dark affair? We sincerely hope so.

Barraux (Isère), France: A glimmer of hope under the hood for the Lyon-Turin project

Posted on 2025/10/26 by darknights

We claim responsibility for:
One autumn night, a fire, three construction vehicles burned at the Barreaux quarry in Isère.
Owned by Vicat Béton, beneficiary and accomplice in the devastation caused by the construction of the second Lyon-Turin railway line.

The targets:
– 1 sifter, sorting the aggregates extracted from the quarry by size
– 2 bulldozers, moving rubble and leveling the ground

If you still believe that destroying our territories for this project is a good idea, you have been misinformed.
If you think that the 3 vehicles we burned will be enough to slow down the construction site, you are mistaken.
We will have to attack from all sides to shake TELT. They are the vandals.

Quarries are poorly monitored and are an essential link in the construction process. Slowing down the supply means slowing down the construction site.

Let’s light the fire under the hood. The flame spreads quickly.

“Our society of “IF… GO TO” – squared, codified, aligned, controlled – this society where we connect like trains in a rail yard, desperately hoping to reduce chance and cancel the revolt, where those in power consider themselves the indispensable designer or analyst, where the binary and the quantitative are supposed to solve the crisis, this society in which we live is unbearable and inhuman”

Machine in Flames: a documentary tracing the 1980’s computer-bombers

Posted on 2025/04/28 by darknights

Machines in Flames (2022, 50min) finds a secret history of destruction by following the footsteps of a clandestine group of French computer workers from the 1980s.

In 1980s Toulouse, an elusive group began bombing computer companies. ‘CLODO’ disappeared after three years, without ever being caught or ever to be heard of again. Two film makers launch an investigation into CLODO, looking for answers, motivations and identities, but are soon frustrated by a collective that struck in the dead of night, leaving in their tracks only ashes and the sporadic line of cryptic graffiti. The film combines archival traces, a viral desktop choreography, and late-night video recordings of CLODO’s targets into a meditation on computation, destruction, and the lure of archives.

France: About the coordinated attack on the prisons over the last two nights

Posted on 2025/04/25 by darknights
Armored guardhouse at the entrance to Toulon-La Farlède prison, Monday night, April 15, 2025.

The nights of Sunday to Monday, April 14 and Monday to Tuesday, April 15, were marked by attacks on several penitentiary structures and their minions, in a dozen towns in the south of France and on the outskirts of Paris. Prison staff cars parked in parking lots (Réau, Valence, Villepinte, Aix-Luynes, Nîmes), alongside the national prison school (Agen) or in front of their staff quarters (Marseille, Nanterre) went up in smoke. In addition, the entrance to a prison was machine-gunned (Toulon-La Farlède), and the gate to an ERIS base was set on fire (Aix-Luynes).

This “coordinated attack” over two consecutive nights led the National Anti-Terrorist Prosecutor’s Office (PNAT) to take charge of the investigation, which was then entrusted to the Anti-Terrorist Sub-Directorate of the Judicial Police, local services and the Directorate General of Internal Security (DGSI). The investigation includes “three charges, including terrorist criminal association”, explained the Minister of Justice today, because “the very nature of the action” reflects a “concerted operation aimed at seriously disturbing public order through intimidation”. As for the prison guards, they are naturally disgusted, as Damien Tripenne, national secretary of the CGT penitentiary union, declared on a major radio station: “I have comrades, colleagues, who are bruised because it’s their vehicles that have been targeted, it’s their homes that have been targeted… fear is going to have to change sides” (RTL, 15/4).

In addition, the Ministry of the Interior’s spokespersons pointed out that in several places the tag “DDPF” (interpreted by the journalists as the acronym for “rights [or rather defense] of French prisoners”, named after a Telegram channel) was found, as well as “anarchist slogans”. This led them to put forward both “ultra-left groups” and “drug trafficking” in their chatter. A well-known “source close to the case” told a state news agency that “according to the initial elements of the investigation, the anarchist trail seems to be gaining ground in the vast majority of cases” (AFP, 15/4, 15h50).
Whatever the case, their hypothesis is that these attacks are linked to the struggle of some and others against the construction of vast high-security wards, i.e. veritable tombs where hundreds of prisoners will be buried alive from this summer onwards… and more generally against the toughening of prison conditions (reduced walks and activities, beatings and humiliations by guards…) encouraged by Darmanin’s arrival at the Ministry of Justice.

Here, then, is a first glimpse of this series of nocturnal attacks on the prison administration and the property of its minor personnel:

Agen (Lot-et-Garonne), Sunday April 13, 11:30 pm: fire in eight cars belonging to ENAP student-guards.
  • Agen (Lot-et-Garonne). At around 11:30 pm on Sunday April 13, unknown assailants drove up to the premises of the “École nationale d’administration pénitentiaire” (Enap) and set fire to the cars of prison guards in training. Six of them were completely destroyed by the flames, two others were damaged, and 1,000 student-guards were evacuated in the middle of the night to allow the fire department to intervene. A “DDPF” tag was found on the floor.
  • Réau (Seine-et-Marne). On the same night, Sunday to Monday, April 14, a female guard’s vehicle was set on fire in the prison parking lot, and traces of hydrocarbons were found on three other guard vehicles, which had not caught fire.

Niort, France: “Direct action will continue as long as I live…”.

Niort station, October 2024

Libération / Tuesday, April 8, 2025

Since September, a strange phenomenon has hit the streets of the Deux-Sèvres prefecture: about once a month, a vehicle from Elon Musk’s factories catches fire. “Libé” followed the pyromaniac’s footsteps until he was found [A Libé writer posted an ad about Indy Nantes and the compas were kind enough to reply; NdAtt.]

The thick smoke from Ivana’s electronic cigarette crashes against the window of her Tesla. “When I park it now, I choose a place where there’s a lot of traffic and cameras,” explains the twenty-something. In Niort (Deux-Sèvres), where this saleswoman works, a strange phenomenon has been roaming the streets since September. At least once a month, somewhere in town, a car from the famous American brand catches fire in the dead of night. A sort of Russian roulette of burnt-out tires. A werewolf game with a burnt-out car. In the parking lot alone, where her electric vehicle is refueled, the flames raged in October, and since then, no driver has risked taking the time off to recharge. The young woman is furious: “It’s shameful, we don’t burn cars for political reasons, just as we don’t buy a Tesla for Elon Musk.”

Faced with these serial fires, the hypothesis of an anti-Musk action is the first to be considered. Demonstrations, scratched vehicles, burning dealerships… In recent times, the damage done to the billionaire’s brand has been mounting as a result of the antics of its big boss. Especially since the Nazi salute by Trump’s right-hand man in January. Support for the far right and outright cuts in US administrations are, moreover, one of the explanations for Tesla’s 13% drop in sales in the first quarter of 2025 compared with the same period last year, and the collapse of the Austin-based brand’s share price by more than half since its record high on December 17, 2024. But in the case of Niort, doubt still hangs in the air: is the richest man in the world the target of the perpetrator, who is still wanted?

For a start, the dates don’t coincide: the first fires took place long before the big boss’s controversial gesture. Secondly, in addition to the dozen or so burnt-out Teslas, at least two luxury vehicles were also targeted. A Porsche and an Aston Martin. In the city’s beige streets, blackish marks now blend into the scenery. Here on charred branches, there on a once immaculate palisade. Libé followed these traces and traced them back to Niort’s serial arsonist.

Stéphan’s jinx

Right now, a lot of people are giving Stéphan a hard time. Colleagues, for one. “They asked me if I’d tried barbecuing,” says the construction salesman and vegetarian. And the firemen, too. “You again?” they taunted him on March 10. For the second time in a few months, the firemen put out a blaze just down the road from his home on the Route d’Aiffres. Once again, the flames reduced a white Tesla, his company vehicle, to ashes.

The first time was on September 15. “My neighbors had heard noises and voices, but at first I thought it was accidental”, says the forty-something with thin glasses. By the second Tesla HS, the doubt had dissipated. That night, the police arrived, very annoyed. Twenty minutes earlier, their patrol had passed the allée du Niortais without observing anything unusual. “We’ve been keeping an eye on all Tesla cars for some time now,” the officers explain.

By this time, they had also been looking for the culprit for some time. Since September, the Niort public prosecutor’s office has been investigating “wilful destruction by fire”. But for the time being, the serial arsonist continues to evaporate. Without ever leaving a clue as to his motives. From his living room, Stéphan has a view of the still-charred parking space. He looks wistfully at a bush that has also been hit: “The leaves hid the road in summer… It’s a shame.” At his feet, his dog, a shih tzu with matted hair, sighs in unison.

Toulouse, France: Incendiary ‘salut’ to Tesla

Posted on 2025/03/14 by darknights

The fascist, patriarchal, ecocidal and colonialist project is gathering pace. While the elites are multiplying their Nazi salutes, we decided to salute a Tesla dealership in our own way on the night of March 2 to 3, 2025 in plaisance-du-touch.
We set fire to vehicles inside the premises with two gasoline cans. We wondered afterwards whether firelighters might not have been a more effective method.

In the face of the worldwide strengthening of the neo-Nazi movement, we are the combative anti-fascism that doesn’t believe in the myth of democracy.

In the face of the current masculinist and transphobic offensive, we are a fragment of the struggle against patriarchy.

Faced with the industrial ravages that are destroying the planet, we are the radical ecology that doesn’t believe in technological solutions.

In the face of colonialism and white supremacism, in the face of widespread misery and exploitation, we express our refusal in deed.

Through this act, we are taking part in the “Welcome spring, burn a tesla” appeal, in the international movement targeting tesla from Germany to the USA and the Netherlands, and more broadly in anarchist conflictuality.

We offer our support to Louna, charged in the struggle against the A69, and to all anarchist prisoners, to those on the run and to those who are fighting.

Let’s continue the offensive against techno-fascists!

Carhaix, France: In Finistère, a Socialist Party office was set on fire during the night

In Finistère, a Socialist Party office was set on fire during the night
France Info/Ouest France, January 22, 2025

The alarm was sounded by a neighbor on the night of Tuesday January 21 to Wednesday January 22, 2025: a fire was discovered in front of the door of the Socialist Party (PS) office in Carhaix (Finistère), located at the beginning of rue de Callac.

The fire had been started by objects placed in front of the door. On Wednesday morning, traces of the fire were still visible. The fire department arrived quickly and managed to contain the blaze. “The damage was concentrated on the facade and the door,” explains Châteaulin company commander Yann Favennec.

A tag reading “PS social traitors” was also discovered on the wall next door. The fire occurred just a few days after the Socialist Party refused to vote the motion of no confidence against François Bayrou’s government. The motion failed to win enough MPs’ votes to pass the National Assembly.

Strasbourg/Cherbourg, France: Two examples of the widespread use of police drones

Posted on 2025/02/03 by darknights

Drones, the new Swiss army knives of the border police
La Presse de la Manche, January 11, 2025 (excerpt)

For the past year, drones have been used at the port of Cherbourg-en-Cotentin to monitor the restricted zone. This high-tech equipment is now being used for other missions.

For just over a year, the Prefect of the Manche department has authorized the use of drones to monitor the border zone of the port of Cherbourg-en-Cotentin, the restricted access zone (ZAR) and its immediate surroundings. This is where migrants are accustomed to moving around. The drones can be adjusted to suit the weather conditions, providing high-quality images and precise positioning.

“They can fly at a maximum altitude of 120 meters, in complete silence. This means they can access places that were previously inaccessible by car, such as the rock face near the Mielles area, which is a common hiding place for migrants”, explains Chief Brigadier Anthony, a remote pilot based in Cherbourg. The thermal cameras fitted to their drones also help them to discover where migrants are hiding, particularly at night. Toulouse, France: New shit for new people

Posted on 2025/02/02 by darknights

On the night of January 30-31, we turned up outside the Lafayette pharmacy in Ramonville, south of Toulouse, which houses the brand-new Medadom telemedicine booths. We left a “FUCK TELEMEDECINE” tag and smashed some windows.

We wanted to show our rejection of these little machines. Once again, we find ourselves witnessing the eternal story of empty coffers, while staggering sums are being invested in armaments, of course, but also in the policy of digitization, patient files and privatization.

Digitization imposes itself on our very flesh and blood, when we need it most. Who wants to live in a world where you can’t talk until you click, where the spectacle of high tech masks the most disgusting of precariousnesses, that of not being able to treat yourself. In cities and rural areas alike, where it has become impossible to get an appointment with a general practitioner, telecabins are presented as a solution to a shortage created out of thin air.

Care cannot be reduced to taking blood pressure, pulse or temperature, or answering protocol questions. It’s a matter of meeting and accompanying, taking into account our work and experience. What about psychological suffering, for which continuity of care is essential, and which needs company other than that of a screen? Telemedicine accentuates the relationship with health as the delivery of a prescription, essential in a medicine whose aim is to get people back to work. The relationship to our bodies as mere machines that need to be repaired to maintain their efficiency.

If it’s in the interests of the economy to keep the shop window looking good, then we’re in for a bit of a rude awakening. Because the new healthcare system that’s on the way will isolate us even further, while the state and start-ups will continue to hold hands.
