Rome, Italy: Report of the initiative at the DNAA, ‘National Anti-Mafia and Anti-Terrorism Directorate’ (September 30, 2022)

Posted on 2022/10/12 by darknights
On Friday, September 30, the announced mobilization took place near the Direzione Nazionale Antimafia e Antiterrorismo (‘National Anti-Mafia and Anti-Terrorism Directorate’, DNAA) in Rome. We were in the square, and we will be there again, to shout our opposition to the current repressive turn, which hits the anarchist movement with particular vehemence. A tightening that has become explicit in recent months with the heavy 28-year sentence for Juan Sorroche, accused of the attack on the headquarters of the Lega in Villorba (Treviso, 2018), with the reclassification as “political massacre” of the charge against comrades Alfredo Cospito and Anna Beniamino for the explosive attack against the carabinieri barracks in Fossano (Cuneo, 2006), with the trickle of repressive operations, special surveillance and other police measures, as well as the seizure of anarchist books and papers, and the closure of counter-information websites.

In particular, the DNAA is directly responsible for the transfer of the anarchist Alfredo Cospito to 41 bis prison regime. An almost total isolation regime, designed with the declared aim of annihilating the prisoner in order to induce him to cooperate. An unprecedented decision as far as imprisoned anarchists are concerned, marking a turning point in the war between the State and anarchism, but one that has already been used for years against some prisoners of the organization Brigate Rosse per la costruzione del Partito Comunista Combattente (BR-PCC). The DNAA, more generally, plays a coordinating and strategic role for the counterrevolution in Italy.

Numerous speeches concentrated on denouncing the maximally oppressive nature of 41 bis, on showing the true face of the anti-mafia, revealing how behind the facade of a popular institution dedicated to fighting organised crime is in reality hidden an emergency institution with exceptional powers aimed at repressing the internal enemy, linking Alfredo’s particular condition and the attack against revolutionary anarchism within a broader repressive climate. Some speeches emphasised how this authoritarian turn comes at a time of profound crisis in international and national capitalism, after two years of pandemic and within the war policies that dominate the governments’ agenda. Faced with the difficulties of capital, the state responds with a pre-emptive social war against its historical enemies. The climate of military mobilization, on the other hand, constitutes the best context for the liquidation of those subjectivities that are unwilling to mediate with power.

After about two hours near the DNAA headquarters, we marched through the streets of the city centre chanting chants, and after a brief moment of tension with the police the demonstration continued towards Campo de’ Fiori square. Crossing the market with slogans and leaflets, another short round of speeches communicated the reasons for our anger to those in the square. The demonstration then came to an end.

Instead, our mobilization is only just beginning. Continue reading “Rome, Italy: Report of the initiative at the DNAA, ‘National Anti-Mafia and Anti-Terrorism Directorate’ (September 30, 2022)” →

Germany: Letter from anarchist prisoner Thomas Meyer-Falk

Posted on 2022/10/01 by darknights

To give space to the nameless, faceless and voiceless!

Horror, sadness, rage, anger and a feeling of helplessness, of powerlessness. Short-term flaring up of affects and stirring emotions here, long-lasting, persistent feelings there, and all this before what we call mood, it colors our experience background, it is, so to speak, the primordial layer, the ground of feeling.

It is the global warming, what is called “climate crisis”, as if it would be a temporally manageable crisis and not a generation-spreading world change, before whose foil all further conflicts must be read, because a world-spreading cooperation, a togetherness is demanded.

Instead, horrible wars are raging, the one that touches us in Central Europe for very different reasons in the area of Ukraine, but also in Kurdistan, in Syria, in Yemen, in many regions of Africa. Conflicts in South America, in Asia – basically there is no region of the world where military conflicts are not being waged, which in turn lead to even more horror, grief, anger and rage.

Not to forget the economic antagonisms. Just as trivial as existential: Rich against poor! More and more super-rich against more and more super-poor. More and more exploiters against exploited.

The prisons are full also because of this. People are imprisoned if they don’t want to belong to the super poor anymore. Or if people go beyond the very narrow corridor that government systems keep open for protests to articulate their fear, but also their anger about the existing conditions, they are also locked up. When people express dissenting opinions, as is currently the case in Russia, for example, they can end up in camps. People who can no longer endure the brutal present without being stunned, who take various substances to escape into a colorful world of illusion, are also imprisoned. Depending on the country, even the death penalty is imposed. And people who flee from starvation or an otherwise hopeless living situation, they are also locked up in jails, if not killed, or inhumane border regimes are set up, resulting in the death of countless people.

Solidarity Weeks like this one in August 2022 are an encouragement for those held in prisons as well as for those who are threatened with imprisonment. Because it is a work against forgetting. As a rule, interest in people wanes when their criminal trial is over. But Soli Weeks bring the names, the faces and the voices of those concerned back into the focus of attention.

This is a Sisyphean task, because the number of prisoners is increasing rather than decreasing, and all this happens against the background of existential conflicts and disputes, which in turn attract all attention.

All the more beautiful that there are people outside the walls who fill this week of solidarity in August with life and keep it alive.

With heartfelt greetings

Greece/Italy: News and update on the situation of our comrade Dayvid Ceccarelli

Posted on 2022/10/01 - 2022/10/01 by darknights

News extracted from the biweekly internationalist anarchist “Bezmotivny“, no. 14

On June 29, in Athens, Dayvid was arrested. He had been sentenced to 6 years for the clashes of October 15, 2011 in Rome by the Supreme Court last May 25.

For him the European Arrest Warrant has been requested immediately after the sentence.

He is currently detained in the prison of Korydallos. On July 13 he will have the first hearing before the Greek court for the validation of the EAW.

***

The hearing regarding the EAW against Dayvid was held today. The decision of the court has been postponed for about forty days to allow the translation of all the documents.

In the meantime, Dayvid remains in Korydallos prison.

The coordinates for a solidarity fund for legal and living expenses will be announced soon.

Freedom for all!

***

On August 18, the Greek court has expressed itself accepting the request for the execution of the European arrest warrant issued by the Italian state for Dayvid, anarchist prisoner, sentenced to 6 years in prison by the Supreme Court last May 25 with the accusation of devastation and looting for the clashes of October 15, 2011 in Rome.

His transfer to an Italian prison should take place in the next few weeks.

In the meantime, a fund has been set up to raise funds in solidarity with Dayvid.

The payments are made in a postepay in the name of:

Gaia Taino

Note:
The condemnation of the comrade is for the riots that happened in Rome on October 15, 2011. A large demonstration – about 300 thousand people – organized by the “disobedient “* and other left-wing groups to give life to a kind of movement of the “indignant “** also in Italy. The clashes between several thousands of people and the forces of order have decided differently. Now some protesters arrested then have been convicted for “devastation and looting”.

* also called ‘tutte bianche’. In their component there are some social centers of ex-worker autonomy tendency and that in the last decades have positioned themselves in and for the institutional politics. In fact their maximum exponents have presented themselves indistinctly as the Green Party, the Communist Refoundation Party, etc.

** born in the Spanish state and taking some anarchist ideas/practices such as assembly, non-hierarchy, etc., they were quickly taken, by the various groups that composed it, to Leninist and pro-institutional positions. Deriving into yet another party.

France: A letter from Ivan, from Villepinte Prison

Posted on 2022/09/28 by darknights

Below is a text by anarchist Ivan Alocco, who was arrested on June 11 and is currently imprisoned in Villepinte Prison, France.
Break the isolation! For immediate revolutionary solidarity with Ivan and all imprisoned anarchists!

–

I am writing to share some thoughts and give some news.
I would like to begin with something that illustrates well the methods of the judicial system.
A few days after my arrest, the judge who instructed the investigation, Stéphanie Lahaye, sent two cops from SDAT [the Anti-Terrorism Sub-Directorate of the Judicial Police] (including the judicial police officer “RIO 1237232” – like machines, they have numbers instead of names) to interrogate my daughter and her mother. Obeying his orders, the procedures of state justice, they tried to pressure a 12-year-old girl. After making her wait in the courtyard of the local gendarmerie barracks during her mother’s interrogation, they allegedly wanted to interrogate her alone. Evidently, her mother refused to leave her.
An ordinary, mundane procedure, a necessary act to establish the truth, according to judges and cops. A way, in my opinion, of trying to spread fear. A warning to my loved ones and to everyone, because, in the inquisitive logic of Justice, people who stay or stand by an anarchist accused of direct action are suspect and must be bothered.

This is somewhat the same logic that was used against me. When the same judicial police officer, during interrogations while I was under arrest, asked me, she reproached me for bringing my support to imprisoned anarchists, in France and in other countries. Of writing to them and occasionally sending them some money. Of course, I often wrote to numerous imprisoned compas and did my best to express my solidarity with them. Because they are anarchists and also because I am convinced of the rightness and necessity of the actions some of them are accused of.
I think solidarity, by any means necessary, with compas affected by repression is fundamental. To avoid openly solidarizing with them, for fear that repression will spread, would be to enter the game of Justice, to accept its logic. A logic that would make us retreat further and further, until we abandon, or almost abandon, the imprisoned revolutionaries. Continue reading “France: A letter from Ivan, from Villepinte Prison” →

Russia: Solidarity Zone – a new initiative to support anti-war prisoners

Posted on 2022/09/28 - 2022/09/28 by darknights

Solidarity Zone is a new initiative, established by anti-authoritarian activists. Anarchist Black Cross Moscow is cooperating with the new initiative, and we encourage everyone to support it.

Solidarity Zone is a horizontal initiative supporting those persecuted for anti-war actions. We came together in the spring of 2022 to help those left without attention by human rights organizations.

Everyone is worthy of defense and solidarity. And we stand in solidarity with people who have spoken out in word and deed against state violence. We are against the existence of prisons, states and war — for self-organization, equality and the abolition of oppression.

We are ready to support those who speak out against war and resist militarism, with the exception of people who practice discrimination on national, gender, social and other grounds. At the same time, our project team consists of only a few people, and we do not have enough resources, so we are currently working on a small number of cases.

Right now we are providing support to:

Anton Zhuchkov
Vladimir Sergeev
Vladimir Zolotarev
Igor Paskar

We would like to point out that we don’t pay any fines or compensation for damages caused to the state. We also do not help people who voluntarily testify against others. Pleading or not pleading guilty is not a limiting factor.

Our objectives are:
-Establish and maintain contact with detainees and their loved ones;
-Find lawyers whom we trust;
-Arrange parcels or packages for prisoners;
-Share information about the cases and addresses for letters with the consent of those who are persecuted.

You can share information about prisoners who need support by writing to us. You can also direct your questions about current cases that our initiative is already working on. E-mail: solidarity_zone@riseup.net

We have no permanent source of funding and do not get paid, so the support is being provided thanks to your donations. We encourage you to support our project financially, if you are in a position to do so.

Responsibility Claim for the Placement of Two Explosive Devices

One September night we decided to illuminate the darkness placing two incendiary devices on a 5G relay antenna in Barcelona in the vicinity of Montjuïc park.

This action is one more contribution to the struggle against domination.

We send a warm hug to Toby Shone, Boris, Ivan and everyone who keeps anarchy alive.

La Nemesi: a new website in support of practices of attack and international revolutionary solidarity EN/IT

Posted on 2022/09/25 - 2022/09/25 by darknights

La Nemesi: a new website in support of practices of attack and international revolutionary solidarity

La Nemesi is a website run by anarchists and dedicated to publishing texts about the conflict against the state, capital and all authority. With the opening of this website we intend to go beyond the characteristics of so-called counter-information, giving more space to texts and contributions that more often than not, in the counter-information spaces that populate the virtual world, end up being buried in the vagueness generated by the telematic tool.

La Nemesi was thus created with the aim of publishing and spreading claim or informative texts concerning actions and sabotage, as well as articles, reports and correspondences from uprisings and insurrections all over the world. It is a kind of ‘bulletin’ of the anarchist revolutionary struggle and more generally of the social war waged by the oppressed.

Equally space will be dedicated to the publication of statements and documents written by anarchists imprisoned in state prisons, as well as updates on the prison situation of comrades, mobilisations and initiatives in solidarity, past, present and future anti-anarchist repressive operations, and in general the repression against the movement.

In addition to this, editorial news (recently published papers, magazines, sheets, bulletins, books, pamphlets, etc.) and occasional articles or extracts of texts from more or less recent publications will be included. Unlike the other articles, these latter insertions will be dictated by the good and bad taste of those who manage the website. Cochabamba, Bolivia: Claim of arson attack against patrol car of the Fuerza Especial de Lucha Contra la Violencia (Special Force to Fight against Violence)

Posted on 2022/09/18 by darknights

In the early morning of September 12, at 2:40 a.m., we placed an incendiary device composed of four half-liter plastic bottles with gasoline, tied with adhesive tape, which were set on fire by means of a wick that we assembled with 5 matches and 3 incenses tied with rubber bands.

We placed this rudimentary device behind one of the front wheels to ensure that the main damage was in the engine area.

Although all of their cars are incendiary, the choice of a Special Anti-Violence Force van is not random. There is no exception, every police force is the enemy and we don’t buy their song and dance about fighting against gender violence. The patriarchy will fall when the last stone of this prison society falls. We abhor their gendered capitalism. We abhor its State spawn forced on unfathomable differences to satisfy the needs of post-colonial oligarchies. We do not demand anything from the institutions, we do not want any police in our neighborhoods and communities with the story of women’s security. You, murderous cops, are the phallus (now scorched) of patriarchy!

We had a lot of fun imagining how you tried to put out the fire with your little buckets, you lackeys!

This action is for María Fernanda murdered by the police in the EPI of Chasquipampa in 2021, as well as for all those raped and murdered by this enemy institution. We do not want reforms of the police, we want its destruction! We do not demand the judiciary or its ministries, we want to see them burn! We invite you to set fire to their vans with this simple system that we have proven to be effective. It is easy and fun. Updates on rebel prisoner Andreas Krebs

Posted on 2022/09/18 - 2022/09/18 by darknights

Italy: Time is running out. Andreas Krebs must be transferred to Germany immediatly

The transfer procedure to Germany is underway after the last instance sentence against him in Italy became final on May 6, 2022. Andreas Krebs can thus serve the remainder of his sentence in Germany. However, the translation of the necessary documents and the calculation of the sentence equivalence and the length of the sentence will take more months.

However, Andreas K.’s cancer does not give him much time, so it is urgent to speed up the bureaucratic procedures for the transfer considerably.

After the final verdict, he was transferred from the infirmary of the Secondigliano prison to the normal prison, with even worse medical care than before. He is now in solitary confinement in a ventilated pit that is barely the size of a room. The transfer was justified because Andreas Krebs allegedly refused medical treatment in a hospital.

Andreas, for his part, complains that he should have been transferred to a psychiatric ward and demanded his immediate return to prison.

Solidarity appeal for Andreas Krebs

In the following we publish an appeal for solidarity and donations for Andreas Krebs. Andreas has been in prison in Naples, Italy for several years, before that he spent a large part of his life in various prisons throughout Germany. In the meantime he is in solitary confinement with permanent surveillance.
During his time in prison, Andreas always showed solidarity with other prisoners, publicized his prison conditions and fought against the prison system. He is in very poor health and mentally, his condition has deteriorated drastically in recent years and months. He is dependent on outside support.

Write him letters, donate money! Below are documented some excerpts from his last letters, in which he describes his current condition and situation.

Address:
Andreas Krebs

From Coast to Coast: Open Letter by Anarchist Prisoner Toby Shone

Posted on 2022/09/11 by darknights

I’ve previously written about the need to recreate an Atlantic bridge, based on international revolutionary solidarity and reciprocal knowledge, that moves towards affinity and direct action in support of our imprisoned comrades. Since then, I was recently visited by a comrade from Anarchist Black Cross Philadelphia here at the G4S facility in which I’m held. G4S is originally an American company, Wackenhut, which has pioneered the private prison and security industry all over the world. As part of our discussion between the comrade from ABC Philadelphia and myself, we spoke of the need to prevent our groups and commons becoming inward-looking and closing in on themselves in microscopic scenes and myopia. The anglophone world is particularly susceptible to this trend, although it is not solely confined to English-speaking territories. How can we translate rhetoric into practical activity? Words and deeds must coincide, and that is what?

For too long, a kind of one-way discourse has been in effect, breached by too few valiant individuals and groups. We can speak of a loss of solidarity flowing across the Atlantic between north and south, east and west. Without wanting to advocate any kind of anarcho-tourism or the colonial approach of the wholesale export-import political programs of the activist left, I’m in favor of strengthening our international networks in the face of an increased technocratic authoritarianism. To remain locked up in our local areas without considering the struggles elsewhere is self-defeating, as repressive operations seek to confine us and stem our anarchic contagion specifically to promote sterility. Can we renew an Atlantic bridge that connects our tendencies, that connects the uprisings in the North American metropolises to those in Europe, Latin America and Asia? Can we join together the struggles of the long-term COINTELPRO prisoners with those elsewhere in the global prison industrial complex? Continue reading “From Coast to Coast: Open Letter by Anarchist Prisoner Toby Shone” →
