Chile: Statment by Francisco Solar in Memory of Luisa Toledo Sepúlveda

I had the opportunity to speak with her only a few times, however I had the good fortune and the enriching possibility to listen to her on countless occasions.

I don’t think I was indifferent on any of those occasions. The power of her words and gestures, the intensity she brought to each of her statements and harangues motivated me enormously and still do. I remember them -in this encierro- and my hair still stands on end.

How lucky we all were to have been able to coincide in life with a person like Mrs. Luisa!

Another thing that never ceased to impress me was her permanent interest in updating herself, in knowing what was being discussed and proposed, and in knowing what were the motivations of the new generations of young fighters. This kept her fully up to date. It kept her in the struggle, rejecting any place of honor from where many feel they have the power to direct and delegitimize the new experiences. Mrs. Luisa is inseparable from the struggle because she herself is an expression of struggle.

The time I went to her house to invite her to the launching of a book – which was one of the few times I spoke with her – she was already ill and very weak, but in spite of that we talked for a long time asking me, with an interest that surprised me, every detail of our prison experience in Spain, which speaks and reaffirms her concern for every new event, especially for the situation of the prisoners, a reality that she lived directly with the imprisonment for several years of her granddaughter Sol.

I heard about her death on television and there they talked about the sad death of «Luisa Toledo, activist and human rights defender», evidently trying to hide what she really was and the annoyance she meant and will mean to the powers that be. Ms. Luisa was a vindicator and encourager of political violence, permanently affirming, explicitly, the urgent need to provide more forceful attacks. To go further, to carry out revenge against what she called: «the murderers and exploiters of the people», so that the denomination of «defender of human rights» I think it falls short (to say the least) accommodating only to those who profit from the struggle and the dead.

Finally, I send an affectionate embrace to all those close to him and his family, especially to Don Manuel and Ana.

We refuse to be spectators to our own demise. We refuse to accept vulgarity and the degredation of values as a condition of life. The end of history belongs to those who surrender their weapons. For us, on the contrary, history is written only through the persistent struggle of social subversion. Loyalty and commitment to the path of intolerance and rupture with the status quo. In this struggle, we must mobilise every means to build up our social and class defences. Where everyone is silent and abstaining, it is a revolutionary duty not just to speak but to act. Silence is a position of complicity in every state crime. And we have already lost too many for defiant silence.

All the vulgarity of democracy finds flesh and blood in the security forces

The repugnant immorality of the known family that runs our lives is mirrored in the blank check that has been given to the uniformed killers to take back the blood and lost honor of the right for years of absence from the big chair. Constant beatings and torture by the uniformed trash, abusive behaviour and vulgar looks at anyone who walks by every stale cop, arrests, imprisonment, rape, torture, deaths in police stations, prisons and concentration camps and a list of criminal actions by the Greek Police that has no end. In this condition impunity is not just negligence. It is a desecration of the memory of those who were tortured, abused and murdered by uniformed hands.

If some of us are no longer with us, because the patriarchy has seen to it that they are buried in the ground, we ought to be their cry seeking revenge. Revenge for every one of our lost sisters. For every one who was abused, raped, tortured, murdered by the men next door. For each and every one that when her case came to light and fell into the dirty hands of bourgeois justice, the cops made sure to repeat the same torture. To question the testimonies of the witnesses, to disregard the complaints, to not intervene while observing protocol, to turn a blind eye. Why? Because, quite simply, it is the cops who legally control the trafficking of locals and immigrant women, the drug trade and every other illegal activity that feeds violence and death. The rapists, sex traffickers, drug dealers and every other piece of trash are also part of their own cohorts who will willingly find protection under the uniformed wing.

To the uniformed scum, Karolain’s killer is a fool (per Balaska), not because he took a woman’s life but because he didn’t weigh his defense better so that he could get out in 4-5 years citing a crime in the heat of passion and go on with his life unmolested. For the years of pleading experience in similar cases in the central torture of the GADA Headquaters of the Greek Police), a convincing tale was enough anyway to acquit the Greek wife-killer and a Georgian arrested man who, it cannot be, would confess after 4 days of torture even to a murder he has not committed. For the uniformed scum the sanctuary of the home is a sacred commodity as it was religiously observed in Petralona throughout the rape and torture of a 50 year old working woman for 9 long hours until a search warrant came with the rapist having his whole life ahead of him to go up in smoke. A few hours later the police presence was swift and suffocating as hundreds of solidarity workers rushed to fill the streets to highlight the incident, actively standing by the working woman’s side. And just when everything seems to be going their way yet another incident shocks the nation: a uniformed scum held hostage, raped and extorted a 19-year-old girl for a month, with the indiscriminate Internal Affairs officials having full knowledge by covering up an entire pimping ring and proceeding to detain-interrogate the victim for long hours rather than providing her obvious and immediate medical and mental health care. We ask for neither transparency nor respect for the law, although we accept the necessity for a woman to resort to the tools of civil law to defend her life and integrity. From the position we are in and the choices of militant resistance we have made, we have an absolute duty to highlight the true dimension of the problem and seek revenge for the loss of each of our sisters. The Greek Police is nothing more than a gang of pimps, rapists, torturers and murderers who hide behind the facade of legality, order and security. I want to start off by saying that I regret not being there in person, to see the faces of the comrades in attendance today because we are increasingly existing in a reality that is being dominated more by the screen and devices that have become artificial substitutes for what is real, the human face to face communication, something really lacking in the present we are in. So maybe one day we will see each others faces, our expressions of complicity, exchange some conspiratorial words. We are living in times now where ‘the movements’, well the remnants of I would call it, are struggling to find a new energy, a new path, a new trajectory through these times of pandemic, the blatant repression and control inflicted on us all, not just ‘the movements.’ This is why I am speaking to you now, as a comrade with deep concern about what is coming across the horizon at us faster than it has before, to build connection internationally, to spread ideas that can transform into action, because we are anarchists, not philosophers, academics, leftists or activists, we are those who do not see a separation between ideas and action, transforming our everyday into the attack.

The 325 project with its publications since 2004 was born from a DIY ethos, with insurrection, crime, autonomy, anti-prison and anti-psychiatry themes evolving into an ‘insurgent zine of social war & anarchy’ in later issues. From the outset there has been an increasing concentration on an international perspective, but especially with the development of technology, the destruction, death and control it inflicts.

Recently in the last 3 issues, #10, #11 & the recent issue this presentation focuses on, Issue #12, have come to concentrate on an anti-technology perspective, even given name to such an accelerating shift within the state, capitalism and the technological-industrial system, as the 4^th & 5^th Industrial Revolutions and within it the threat of the Technological Singularity.

The recent issue of 325, is a coming together of international anarchist individuals and collectives concentrating on the similar theme, analysis of the new realities that are the 4^th & 5^th Industrial Revolutions. A definition I feel is required here for both. The 4^th Industrial Revolution (also known Industry 4.0) is the ongoing automation of traditional manufacturing and industrial practices, using modern smart technology. Large-scale machine-to-machine communication and the internet of things (IoT) are integrated for increased automation, improved communication and self-monitoring, and production of smart machines that can analyze and diagnose issues without the need for human intervention. This will mostly marked by the breakthrough of emerging technologies such as robotics, artificial intelligence, nanotechnology, quantum computing, biotechnology, the internet of things, the industrial internet of things, decentralized consensus, cashless society, cryptocurrencies, fifth-generation wireless technologies (5G), 3D printing, and fully autonomous vehicles. All of these as most of you are probably aware are already permeating through our present society, which shows the 4IR is already under way. The three preliminary hearings for Operation Scintilla concluded with the confirmation by the Gup of the entire accusatory package and the committal for trial of all 18 defendants for all the crimes charged. Obviously, both instigation to commit a crime and subversive association, that is art. 270 c.p., have been reconfirmed. Moreover, the charges of the various offenses of the association remain unchanged, including the placement of two tanks near as many ATMs of the Italian Post Office, the damage by fire of the Center for Permanent Residence for Repatriation in Turin in collaboration with some inmates and the sending of an incendiary package to Ladisa, the company that managed the canteen of the structure of Corso Brunelleschi. The next hearing in the first instance is scheduled for October 7 at the court of Turin. Recall that Carla, after almost a year and a half of absconding and 8 months of imprisonment, is still imprisoned under house arrest for just over a week without restrictions. Instead, all other minor measures related to this proceeding have fallen. We take the opportunity of this update also to remember the transfer to the Rebibbia prison of Natascia and to pass on the address to write to her. She is accused not only in the Prometeo operation but also in the association of the Scintilla operation, which sees her accused at large.

Enemies of the authority feel more and more the need to attack the electricity distribution network, an indispensable part of this society.

The power stations are difficult to reach (for the time being. But maybe in the future…) but recently there have been nice attempts to sabotage power stations.

It is the whole empire of EDF, based on nuclear power (70% of the electricity produced in France comes from nuclear power plants) that should be hit continuously, everywhere.

As a small contribution to the fight against this cold monster that fills its pocket by providing energy to this company that enslaves us we made a small surprise to one of the companies of the EDF group.

During the night of July 17th to 18th we set fire to a van of Enedis, rue des Pyrénées, behind Père Lachaise.

You can find them everywhere, burning them is easy!

A thought for all the people who fight against the authority, the exploitation and the devastation of the nature.

Chile: Mapuche zone ignites after the murder of Pablo Marchant [update]

In the south of Chile, a section of the Mapuche population has been waging a fierce struggle for many years against the large landowners (burning down their villas and occupying their land) as well as against agro-forestry operators, large hydro-electric dams and intensive salmon farms. It was in this context that Pablo Marchant Gutiérrez was murdered on Friday 9 July in Carahue during an attack on the vehicles of the company Forestal Mininco (a subsidiary of the cellulose giant CMPC).

The 29-year-old former anthropology student, who later joined the Mapuche struggle through CAM (Coordinadora Arauco Malleco), was participating in the burning of a minibus, a skidder and a tanker at around 5pm on the Santa Ana-Tres Palos estate when he was shot in the head at close range by carabinieri charged with protecting the interests of the loggers. Another saboteur and an employee were also wounded by bullets in the exchange of fire, and the public prosecutor’s office was quick to speculate that the bullet that sent the latter to hospital came from the M16 held by Pablo Marchant.

For its part, the CAM immediately made public the fact that Pablo had been shot by a carabiniere during a sabotage action carried out by one of its local groups (Órgano de Resistencia Territorial, ORT), the one called Lafkenche-Leftraru, thus becoming a Mapuche fighter (weichafe) who had fallen during the struggle. His body was accompanied the next day by 300 people from the Temuco Forensic Institute to the municipality of Lumaco, where a vigil for his body (feretro) will be held until Tuesday 13 July, the day of his burial.

The announcement of the assassination naturally triggered angry demonstrations the following Sunday from Santiago to Antofagasta, as well as numerous roadblocks, gunfire against carabinieri or landowners’ guards, and incendiary attacks by other radical Mapuche groups in several different regions (Biobío, La Araucanía and Los Ríos). Far from seeking justice from the murderous state, the latter immediately set about keeping Pablo Marchant’s ideas alive by attacking companies that exploit water or the forest throughout Mapuche territory.

Prometeo Operation: updates on Natascia from Rebibbia prison (Italy)

Natascia is well and her mood is high, especially since she knows that Anna [anarchist comrade sentenced to 16 years and 6 months in the Scripta Manent trial against the Federazione Anarchica Informale, “Informal Anarchist Federation”] has also arrived and received her greetings, even though Natascia is in a solitary confinement cell far away from the one she is in, which makes it impossible for her to hear directly from Anna. It seems that her transfer to Rebibbia prison in Rome is a permanent relocation, which she does not mind at all: in fact, she said she does not want to ask for other transfers and wants to stay there.

The prison has just authorised her to have four hours of visits per month, both with the comrade with whom she had visits before the transfer to Santa Maria Capua Vetere, and with her father. Her father will go when he can (given the distance, Natascia has also been authorised to make video calls with him), while the comrade intends to have regular visits every month, possibly by pooling the visit hours available to her, so as to reduce the cost of the journey from Turin to Rome and back.

Natascia is still in sanitary confinement and will remain so until the end of this week (most likely until Saturday, July 24), so the first visit will be in the last week of July with the authorised comrade.

Chile: On the reformalization of comrades Monica and Francisco

On Wednesday, July 14, 2021, comrades Monica and Francisco, were reformalized by the South Prosecutor’s Office in the 11th Guarantee Court.

Through a virtual hearing, Monica, from the San Miguel Prison, and Francisco, from the Rancagua Prison, listened to the monologue of the prosecutor Claudio Orellana, who reformulated them, keeping the same crimes and accusations under the arms control law, penal code and military justice, but adjusting small details.

A review of the investigative period, which has already been extended for nearly a year, is scheduled for August. In view of the possibilities that the investigation is closed or that the court does not give any more time, the prosecutor’s office would have decided to reformalize the case so that it would be coherent and without any details in case the judicial process moves forward.

In summary, the comrades are still accused of the following crimes:

Francisco: Sending explosive packages against the 54th police station and against former Minister of the Interior Hinzpetter, resulting in 2 shipments of explosives, 2 frustrated homicides to policemen, 1 frustrated homicide to Hinzpetter, 6 light and less serious injuries to police officers, 1 crime of usurpation of identity and 1 crime of aggravated damage.

Mónica and Francisco: Double explosive attack against Tánica, which resulted in 2 crimes of placing an explosive device on the public highway.

Mónica: Marijuana allegedly found in a common place of the raided house, resulting in illicit trafficking in small quantities.

The same day of the reformalization a rally was called in the center of Santiago.
To every movement of power, a response from the street.
Things are clear: Comrades are not alone!
